Life Choices Peterson"s slavish interview with evil Netanyahu Peterson spreading Israel LIES Peterson ignoring Nazi War CRIMINALS committing genocide. Peterson acting like he is some paragon of virtue and fearless trurth to power when the exact opposite has been amply displayed. Your channel is excellent but i will pass the sick bucket on Peterson
Thank you, dear Sir! Your topics about physical and mental health helped me a lot to strengthen my stress resistance under conditions of war in my country Ukraine. I have been sticking to all your protocols and recommendations for almost three years. It definitely works! I have never been so strong before. Thank you again for your invaluable work!
I'm a young medical doctor in Iran. There's a law here that all the doctors must practice medicine for 2 years in rural and remote areas of the country in small government health facilities ( kind of a tax for free university education). You and Dr. Peterson have helped me a lot through these hard times in my country. I even taught many of yor protocols to my patients which are mostly illiterate elderly people :) Happy New Year. Wish you the best.
I am grateful for not only having the opportunity to have the ears to listen to this episode, but to be blessed enough to live in this time period to be able to witness this collaboration. Happy new years to all you beautiful souls reading this comment.
I also just cleaned my room, not knowing this was uploaded. Thanks for the reminder, as I looked around me, feeling grateful that I was able to shake the bad habit of an unclean room. “Set your house in order before you change the world” is promptly placed on my whiteboard. A reminder to first attend to what is easily fixed and necessary before going on to make bigger changes with less stable outcomes. Let’s both keep at it!!
It would be nice to see Dr. Gabor Mate' on your podcast, Andrew ~ I've read all his books this year, they've helped me to understand people and why they are, the way they are... I have more compassion for parts of my family, my friends and relatives.
Jordan Peterson is one of the reasons why I started educating myself, when I started to pick a book, I was ashamed knowing that I don't know anything thus it motivates me to keep going on fully realized that this is what I currently need.
@@RadekJedliczko You're right, they do it out of the goodness of their hearts. That's why Huberman gets paid millions by AG1 (they sponsor his in person lectures too), and why Peterson sells courses on that right wing platform he's on.
@Billybo121 you sound so salty over good people becoming successful 😅 low-vibration attitude my friend. What have you done to better humanity? I'm so happy Dr's Peterson and Huberman have found a way to monetize their passions and contributions to society. Nothing more American than that
❤Both of you are the reason I went back to school and completed my Master’s, bought a house and pulled way ahead in life. So many more goals I’ll be reaching this year!
I can hear Dr Huberman successfully manage the conversation with Dr Peterson. He will not be interrupted. I haven’t seen it done so successfully before. Well done!
Glad I'm not the only one who was paying attention to that dynamic 😂😂😂 Huberman managed to get some interruptions in himself also to even things out, though I think he needs to be more aggressive to match JP. But jokes aside, there's merit to both styles of conversation--it's no news that JP loves to run with his thoughts and share this process at the cost of interrupting the other speaker, but this can actually take the conversation to more exciting places than two overly polite interlocutors. The optimum ground is somewhere in the middle I guess... lol nevertheless, they share the common passion in common subjects and somehow make it all work out in the end. Would love to see them keep it going.
That is completely true. Unlike JP and Elon Musk, it was painful to watch yet enjoyable to see that there may be a second episode and I'm aware that he knows what people thought about it, maybe he'll change it a bit after knowing that.
Peterson would not be used to meeting his intellectual equals until recently. Most interviewers are imbeciles trying to have a gotcha soundbite. Talking with Musk and Huberman must be both stimulating and refreshing. The three of them are brilliant.

As an agnostic, Peterson's "Biblical Series" lectures really helped me understand why the Bible became what it is for the world, the symbolism it contains, and what people find in it. My perspective shifted from "this is stupid" to "this isn't stupid, but I still have doubts about many religious issues." However, the way Peterson speaks and interrupts his interlocutors nowadays makes his newer material completely unpalatable for me
@@stilltoks6904 I think you can, mate. But I was making a point-I wasn't exhibiting my pristine use of grammar and I think the discussion is over if you have to comment on my grammer..
Please do an episode on jaw development, orthodontics (which is mostly pathological), tmjd (a serious, systemic health problem), and the airway, postural and health issues associated with it. Also an episode on the postural restoration institute would be interesting.
The thing I love about science is that it truly is bi-partisan. It doesn’t pick sides. It simply states what is. If you actually listened, Huberman and Peterson discuss closer toward the end that in the legitimate pursuit of the ‘what is’, which is what science is, you have to be willing to get things wrong, and own that, and that many researchers don’t for fear of putting their career and legacy on the line. If you actually are a listener of this podcast, then you will know that ‘spiritual’ is one of the pillars of health. Therefore, yes, this is an important discussion for health, and zero-cost improvement of one’s life. Everyone’s spiritual journey is their own, yet it is still a pillar of health. Andrew is clearly on his own, and states the benefits it has had to his health, and his life so far. Again, science doesn’t discriminate, it just is - the pursuit of truth. If you are unwilling to listen to ‘what could be’ because you don’t like it then you, my friend, are likely to be anti-science, and only willing to use the evidence when it supports something you believe - something rampant and toxic in the scientific field already. For those calling Huberman a grifter, I commend him on truly exploring all possible roads to the answer. And like Peterson had said towards the end of this. I hope Democrats are willing to engage in conversation to help keep power in check. But, judging by these comments, it seems like they’re not even willing to step up to the table.
The thing is, Jordan Peterson is not a scientist. He had his professional license removed because he kept on doing climate change denialism. He is hired by the daily wire which is funded partially by oil lobbyists. Even before he became famous, Toronto University kept giving him warnings for talking about conjectures as if they were proven facts.
I'm thinking about "oneness". How suddenly the boundaries that were separating different branches of science, philosophy, even religion are blurring and the understanding of this contingent world is getting broader and deeper. It's amazing to see this in my lifetime. I'm full of hope for the future of science and religion. Thank you Prof. Hubermann and Prof. Petterson. Amazing episode.
“The ultimate goal of throwing at a distance would be to create another human being” brings me back to the timeless poem “Children” from Khalil Gibran: “You are the bow from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Khalil was way ahead of his time! So is Dr. Jordan Peterson
I followed some of the self authoring programs from Peterson few years ago at a time where every aspect of my life seemed crushed that coincided with the pandemic. With this program, i was able to gain clarity and transform my life completely, almost magically, became a high performing consultant and then followed my dreams to move to another country. Im so eternally grateful for his guidance, that no words can express it fully. Its divine.
The whole episode was outstanding. However at 2:54 the conversation around prayer really touched me. A man of science who has the courage to bare his soul with regards to faith is so wonderful. Bravo.
Richard Schwratz although having some good ideas recycled his theory from transactional analysis and sprinkled in rogerian humanistic theory. IFS is a grifting "levels" scheme (MLM) charging $4700 to be trained in a model that can be learned from reading older theories. Alongside the harmful implications of unskilled clinicians attempting to work with dissociation and causing more harm.
What a FEAST of a conversation…. Mr Huberman, can you please consider co-ordinating a conversation like this with Iain McGilchrist, British psychiatrist, literary scholar, philosopher and neuroscientist. To explore and discuss the bridge between how the brain and mind works, and how it interprets reality. Please like if you agree!!
What a gem of an episode. Thank you soooooo much. I can't believe I can access this level of intellectual and professional discussion for free. You are a great human being. Thank you.
49:05 props to you holding your ground here, Andrew! Peterson often doesn't recognize when he is interrupting the flow for the listener. I think it's safe to say most listeners want to hear people finish their points of view before a response is given, Dr Peterson!
I really love this podcast. It's important to realize that their is a paradigm shift happening in the world. People are starting to realize that the idea of, "community" has essentially diminished since the internet started. Community is essential to humans and strengthens each person as an individual. We can reference the Asian cultures who rely on their community. I believe rugged individualism, while a romantic idea, is actually a detriment to the person and those around them. Religion is a controversial topic, but it is important because it is a key function in bringing people together and forming a community - something which most places have lost. If you don't have a religion, find your church, find your people, and create your own community - other bringing the best out in themselves while bringing the best out in others. Humans are not meant to be divided on a perpetual basis like we have been. We all know a large enough group can solve most of the problems in the world. There were many key moments in the podcast - one that stood out was, "if you start from nothing and keep doubling you'll get somewhere eventually". I think nowadays people use terms like passion and mindfulness loosely and they have lost meaning. It's hard to lose meaning in the Truth - your own truth. If you follow something that feels true to you, usually the universe will open up a path for you to follow. The only other thing to add is that Andrew and Jordan never set out to be celebrities on the world stage, and have transitioned to that in just a few years. I don't expect either of them to be perfect, because no one is. They have both contributed to humanity through their media presence. For those who have a dislike for Jordan, it's important to attempt to see things through his worldview. He almost became a worldwide figure overnight, blew up to fame and made mistakes along the way. He has attempted to right those mistakes by holding himself accountable, (he has an entire podcast episode dedicated for his peers to call him out). I don't believe he has an intent to harm anyone, or any group of people. After working with incarcerated youth for decades, it occurred to me that almost none of them had positive father figures in their life. Jordan has in at least some way, given a positive role model to young men. This is extremely important because it will have a positive impact on their future and ours - it was a huge void for a very long time. I'll end with sayings I hold close to me: 1) Knowledge is completely useless without the ability to change perspectives 2) You get what you put into it! Happy New Year!
I have listened to the entirety of this episode on Spotify and came here to comment because you say you "do read all the comments". I have been an avid listener and student of this podcast for years and appreciate the high quality scientific content you generate. I also appreciate how professional and secular your podcast has been until now: you didn't talk about religion or politics, or even show your tattoos or wear a different color shirt- all with the intention to not distract from the Science. For these reasons, I often refer to your podcast when discussing lifestyle changes with my patients at work. After this discussion with Jordan Peterson, who is a notoriously controversial person, I fear this may have to change. I admire that you've opened up about prayer and your political views, but I fear that you have alienated a portion of the population that do not share your beliefs. The Huberman Lab podcast was supposed to be for everyone. I am going through the comments and seeing that they are completely polarized. While it was interesting, I dont think the Huberman Lab podcast was the right place for a Jordan Peterson discussion. I feel like this podcast has been tainted and I feel really disappointed.
Same here.. Peterson is not a scientist.. his views are opinions and controversial ones.. he has no place in a «science based lifestyle podcast» this is disappointing
I agree. My theory is that Huberman aims to bring big names to his podcast as the new year approaches to attract a larger audience. Last year on January 1st we had David Goggins, a really famous name. One year later it got 17 millions views, by far his most-watched podcast. If you think about it, what does Goggins have to do with science? Nothing. He is not a scientist. The same applies for Robert Greene and even now, Jordan Peterson. My guess is that Huberman is shifting the trajectory of his podcast to consistently achieve high numbers in terms of views. Reaching those numbers with a purely science-based approach is FAR more challenging. That's why he brings guests like Jordan Peterson and the others.
Went though the time stamps. Stopped and listened at 2:54:45. I adore listening to others describe their means of connecting and opening the channel to what they perceive as Divine. Dr Huberman, thank you for sharing your prayer.
I absolutely love how attentive & focused Huberman always is when he brings in a guest. His body language & eye contact. This man that already knows so much, is still a student. THAT’S the way.
Well, I have enjoyed my New Year’s Day 2025 with two of the best men that I love listening and absorbing all of the research and knowledge that they have to give me . Dr. Jordan Peterson , almost 4 years now. Andrew Huberman 2 yrs now. Help my daily life decisions listening to this podcast. You touch on so many subjects and life is just that challenging. .I just want to say thank you for bringing this podcast to the public and continue to share, we are watching and listening.
I really miss the old Huberman podcast; a scientist who found and read through all the studies on a topic, and presented the facts to us. It was so interesting. Now he seems to interview all kinds of youtube-self-help gurus 😢 I am interested in science, and I miss hearing about it.
He is able to sprinkle science with the right people, and the conversations are amazing. Sadly, though, I cannot say that for Peterson. Leaving aside the controversial figure he is, he's spent this whole interview being a charlatan. So little of scientific value escaped it. Huge props to Andrew for giving his best shot, though. Let's hope for a better one next time!
Jordan Peterson is a very smart psychologist. He’s not a RUclips self help guru. He just shares his philosophy and psychology degree on RUclips. Yes he’s religious but doesn’t mean he’s not a psychologist either. it’s like Huberman, he’s religious but is a Scientist as well
3 things that helped me and literally changed my life 1. I stopped telling myself I'll do it tomorrow 2. I read books on nixorus 3. I stayed consistent no matter what.
Dr Huberman, Thanks again for this interview. I knew yall had it set up a long time ago but it’s probably hard to get a 4 hour interview scheduled with such a busy guest. Besides, one interview with Dr. Peterson every other year is still so impactful it resonates the entire time in between. I’ve watched the last interview multiple times and I’ll watch this one again. I wanted to ask you a strange question regarding prayer and attention. I’m following a RUclips channel called Holy Ressurection that is doing a series of videos on nepsis and prayer, and I may not be completely right, but I believe it is taught in Greek Orthodox that attention, called nepsis, is more important, and actually tunes our prayer, and in my eyes, that is in keeping with this conversation, that attention tunes, maybe guides(?), our thoughts. However, it is taught in Greek Orthodox that thought should not be trusted. They teach ceaseless, internal prayer that constantly generates, or filters thoughts, and I know mindfulness can allow us to do something similar, to filter our thoughts, but wouldn’t it be nice if you could pray nonstop, 24/7, and the attention to the distal and proximal would handle itself? I think that’s what the Greek Orthodox are getting at. But the prerequisite for that is something like spiritual vigilance, or attention, nepsis. Last, they say to fast and read the Holy Fathers (and I’ve been reading Sayings of the Desert Fathers, and it’s really interesting), before saying the Jesus Prayer, because there are two important things of note: they don’t recommend saying prayers spontaneously, and only do traditional prayers, and they never start this path without the guidance of a Spiritual Father. I guess the thing here is that, to them, it seems dangerous to generate thought out of thin air, and they see their tradition as affording the proper context and aim. So, my question is this, and excuse me for its sloppiness, but I’m thinking on the fly: What are your thoughts about guided prayer and attention being a sort of generator or filter for your thoughts, and could assuming that voluntary stance of enduring on the (Orthodox) path seemingly combining calling and conscience or positive and negative emotion? I’m Protestant by the way and don’t have the guts to join the orthodox, but weird things have happened to me when I meditated before praying, read the Desert Fathers, and then chanted the Jesus prayer while keeping the door open to my thoughts but ignoring them until the only thought was Jesus. Thanks again Dr. Huberman P.S. I’d love to see you do the book with Dr Peterson you mentioned.
Very elite and delightful talk, Thank you, Dr Peterson and Dr. Huberman. Thank you for helping the society. This podcast may improve my life. Devine and Prayer are wonderful concepts, I was missing them, I may add to my life.
Thank you to both of you for helping society with sharing your knowledge thereby inspiring us to become a better version of ourselves. Happy New Year to ALL! 🎉2025🎉
Of all the episodes I've watched, this was one of the best. Congratulations on having the courage to show yourself and demonstrate that there are things that are even more powerful when understood in conjunction with science. You are one of the few who approaches science as an outbreak of a force of nature and does not isolate it from other views. That is brilliant!
I absolutely adore Andrew Huberman! This episode is the perfect year-end highlight. Dr. Peterson comes across as genuine and remarkably easy to understand. For those of us outside the scientific or medical fields, listening to such brilliant minds makes learning more accessible. Most importantly, the curiosity and inspiration sparked by your podcasts are truly priceless.
This episode is the absolute peak of Huberman Lab-proper life-changer-and made spending my New Year’s Eve with the Lab totally worth it again. It’s already 2025 here in France, and I can’t wait to put everything I’ve learned into action and turn my life around. Massive thanks to Andrew Huberman for saving me-again. I’ve made so much progress on my neurobiology since 2022 but was feeling a bit lost lately. Now I feel completely revived. Happy New Year to all the Hubes Lab crew and audience out there-here’s to smashing 2025 and building a better Path individually and together! Dr. Jordan Peterson, thank you for continuing to share your genius with us-truly inspiring!
I love this show. I am a fan of Dr. Huberman and his guest. But this episode showed me that I need to expand my vocabulary 😔. This episode was WAAAAY over my head. I will try to watch it again when I learn a few more words 🤦
When differing paths of scientific inquiry converge it creates a sense of validation that is exciting and energizing. The Baltimore Catechism begins with God and why we were created: “to know ,love and serve God”. As we are the image and likeness of God, this pursuit of knowing ourselves in a more perfect and complete way seems fully consistent with what we are told God wants of us in that quaint and seemingly simplistic template. For me that is another part of what makes this discussion so profound and important.
I find it absolutely fascinating how different the comments are here than the reactionary dismissive responses on instagram and other platforms. It’s almost as if when you approach something with an open mind and listen to what is being presented, you will glean value from it 😮.
The moment around 1:06:30 where they connected the symbolic notion of aiming at a target to the ophthalmological was the match made gold nugget I was hoping for. I think that’s why Huberman had that slight grin, they came to the same page from separate stories.
@@ElAndresRodriguezno, I felt like Dr. JP is interrupting the flow of conversation. He could be more knowledgeable but it is not coming across (for me, at least). This is not first time, recently his conversation with Elon, there also he constantly interrupted Elon
One of my favorite episodes. And thank you for sharing your journey of having this channel. Sometimes the motive of creating something great is very simple. And I am very grateful you did and I have benefited so much from listening to it to find my own adventure. 🎉🎉
I am thoroughly grateful for this podcast. This conversation covering knowledge, beliefs, faith and rituals by two people I read frequently and admire inspires me immensely. I wish you both the best to keep doing the great work in your field. Regards.
This was amazing, such meaningful and needed conversation. I hope that it will be possible for you both to write a book together to properly merge neuroscience with psicology. Truly an inspiration, Greetings from Spain.
Love that you’ve admitted to your belief and practice in believing in god, especially in todays day and age. Congrats on your freedom. Love this for you ❤
Me cartwheeling🤸♀️ as I listen to Dr. Huberman talk about Adlerian psychology, Courage To Be Disliked and also the idea of writing a book connecting Neuroscience with Psychology!❤ What a way to start the year. Happy New Year!
Sub personalities and integration of motivational states sounds very much like Internal Family Systems clinical work by Richard Schwartz. I would love to see him on your podcast.
I’m so pumped to hear this…the two most influential people affecting my life in 2024. You two would fill stadiums…Id pay whatever!!!! I will return in the future and document how what I heard here today affected my life for the good…
huberman is not a psychologist, but that aside, i'm curious: how is it a problem for you that psychology is "dominated" by women (if that were the case)?
Two of my favorite people … was beyond thrilled! Thank you for your candor, authenticity and vulnerability. To see two highly intellectual and successful individuals being human is so refreshing. Tremendously appreciated your banter, dialogue, and allowing the podcast to take an uncharted coarse. Profound and highly impactful. The impact you both have had on my life is ineffable!
Been of fan of JP for a while, but recently started looking at Huberman. Like what I'm seeing so far from him. He really seems to want to educate and share knowledge.
I was blown away by so much that was discussed here. Especially the science behind the detriments of pornography. I’ve never heard it explained so well. I’m excited to print and study. Discuss responsibility and adventure with my teenage boys. Thankyou for articulating so well some of my own thoughts and feelings about many of these subjects.
January 1st, 2025, and I’m kicking off the year by nerding out with two of the sharpest minds alive-Dr. Jordan Peterson and Dr. Andrew Huberman. 33 minutes in, and I’m already pumped about how 2025 is shaping up. The passion and excitement they bring to this exchange are next level. It’s not just a conversation-it’s a collaborative expansion of thought, packed with creative thinking and high-octane ideas. An exchange like this? It’s like what I imagine it must have been like to witness Plato and Aristotle or Freud and Jung-two intellectual powerhouses pushing the boundaries of understanding together. While Peterson and Huberman may not yet have the same historical weight as those legends, I can’t help but feel that those privileged to witness those great exchanges must have felt the same sense of awe and gratitude I feel now. This is one for the ages-something that will echo long into the future. 🫡💯👊🏽💥 P.S. Watch out for 8 year old biters 😳 32:57
Ok - i gave it an hour. And now I find myself planning an early escape. 😊 Because, once again, am realizing that JP has a TALENT for taking a simple concept and convoluting it out of ALL recognition. I suspect he does this on purpose so as to confuse the issue to the point that the average person will fall prey to thinking that he must have a ' 'brilliant' mind, because he loses them with all his fanciful philosophizing!
They both have a talent for making millions of dollars with pseudoscience and pretending that they are only doing everything for us…he was never a big believer of blue light blockers, now has a sponsorship with roca…. And the list is endless, and whoever advertises AG1 falls into the same category. Don’t get me wrong I also fell for him for a while , but later I dug deeper… 4 hours from my life to these two? No way :)
I don't find this convoluting at all. Maybe I'm just too stupid to understand I'm being finessed by a con-man. Can you point out any examples of this happening in the episode? It would be greatly appreciated.
There are simpler ways to communicate the ideas, yet Peterson enjoys the convolution and drama. Also, he is a guest and from the beginning, he endeavours to take control. Couldn’t get anything new from this.
Yeah I had mixed feelings when I saw this come up. Peterson imo has synthesized and popularised some important, accurate insights of great value to the population. Yet at times he's also demonstrated how emotional can corrode intellect and lead to assertions that contravene some of the same insights he has popularised.
I have come to see religion as the sum of our history that has attempted to draw useful lines on the page of our developing minds. Like a more important version of Santa claus etc. Regardless of the issues with religions, if they must fade away I believe we would do well to replace them with something instead of nothing.
I throughly enjoyed this conversation. I absorbed it like nutrients for my mind & soul ❤. May God continue to bless you both in all your future endeavors. 🙏🏼
I’m not a big fan of Dr Jordan Peterson-not because of his opinions per se, but because of how one-sided they often are. For example, he and Dr Huberman mentioned the case of a woman on TikTok who claimed to have slept with 100 men. Both expressed disgust at the situation, while understandable, it’s not the whole story. I’d be far more interested in hearing Peterson’s clinical and philosophical perspective on the comments made by an elected president about “grabbing women by their you-know-what.” That would truly be insightful. Why? Because it ties into a broader cultural issue: the psychological “brakes” that used to constrain certain excesses seem to be eroding. For instance, the young woman’s video went viral, and Trump-despite such remarks-was elected president again. Most importantly, what does that say about us? Peterson is usually quick to analyze and critique the cultural excesses of liberal ideologies. However, he rarely, if ever, addresses the clear cultural harm caused by conservative or far-right movements, which also play a significant role in shaping the societal landscape. This imbalance in his commentary is what I find problematic.
yeah, i feel the same. im really interested in truly open minded people. jp is deeply ignorant. hes so judgemental about peoples life choices. lame af.
Dr. Huberman keeping his cool a being a masterful communicator. Voting for Dr Dispenza to be invited in to talk about the pineal gland and all the other meditation work!
The anticipated dopamine hit I got seeing this pop up as I opened RUclips😭 I am so, greatly, appreciative of you Mr. Huberman. As someone with ADHD, I've been able to learn so much from your content and apply these things into my life. Altering my brain chemistry as well as adding more positive motivators. Mr. Peterson similarly so. The meeting of Neuroscience and Psychology that completely changed my life! Thank you both for doing the work you do! 😊

Dearest, did you really have to have that old win bag on your podcast?
Two people who affected my life the most during the last few years. The last episode of this podcast this year couldn't be better.
Couldn't have said it better myself
Here here 🙌
I'm sure you're doing so much better now brother
Word!
Jordan Peterson changed my life 10 years ago, Andrew Huberman made it even better. Thank you guys!

So, you've never experienced magic.

I'm a young medical doctor in Iran. There's a law here that all the doctors must practice medicine for 2 years in rural and remote areas of the country in small government health facilities ( kind of a tax for free university education). You and Dr. Peterson have helped me a lot through these hard times in my country. I even taught many of yor protocols to my patients which are mostly
illiterate elderly people :)
Happy New Year. Wish you the best.
@amirhosasadi
Thank you very much for your great health service.
Best wishes and blessings for the New Year 2025.

Room already cleaned, ready to watch.

Im pausing this talk to go clean my room. Be right back will update
Edit: Done
It would be nice to see Dr. Gabor Mate' on your podcast, Andrew ~ I've read all his books this year, they've helped me to understand people and why they are, the way they are... I have more compassion for parts of my family, my friends and relatives.
YES!!!!!!! I completely agree.
That's a brilliant idea!
@lopart.official Totally, right?! 🤞
I have often wondered why this hasn’t happened yet. Feels like such an obvious choice..
@lucywilson6897 Agreed. I feel Dr. Gabor's view is at a much deeper level, no disrespect to Dr. J here, but Gabor has a much calmer demeanor.
Jordan Peterson is one of the reasons why I started educating myself, when I started to pick a book, I was ashamed knowing that I don't know anything thus it motivates me to keep going on fully realized that this is what I currently need.
many shit on him because of politics but there's one thing i know and it is the fact that mr peterson changed my life for good.
Time well spent. Sincere thanks to both you and Dr. Peterson.

@Billybo121 you sound so salty over good people becoming successful 😅 low-vibration attitude my friend. What have you done to better humanity? I'm so happy Dr's Peterson and Huberman have found a way to monetize their passions and contributions to society. Nothing more American than that
This was an excellent blend of neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, and religion. Jordan Peterson coming back to his clinical roots.
Peterson isn't religious. He LARPs as a religious person because his wife returned to the faith.

Amazing! So encouraging to see people winning!!!
Thats super inspiring
That's wonderful to hear. What's next for you? Have you also started telling the truth? If yes please tell how it has changed your life.
Love structure and strength
Peterson is the guest ... Andrew is going to let him talk

They aren’t impulses, they’re fully developed personalities.

Best way to spend the last day of the year. Thank you Dr.Huberman.
Yeah right! 🎉
Happy new year!
@twkr Thank you 🎊 Happy New Year🥂

“The ultimate goal of throwing at a distance would be to create another human being” brings me back to the timeless poem “Children” from Khalil Gibran: “You are the bow from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
Khalil was way ahead of his time!
Bravo.
Dr Huberman, please interview Dr. Richard Schwartz. His contribution to this topic of “sub personalities” is INVALUABLE
Funny you say that. I clearly saw one in my right eye. My left brain analytical mind keeps it alive and it’s not a nice person. It is critical.
Agree. Dr. Richard Schwartz will be an interesting and comprehensive conversation 🧠💪🏽💜
To me, JPs perspective sounds a lot like the Manager trying to control the Fire Fighter.
@@Planturs I hear your point of view 🫶🏽
What a FEAST of a conversation….
Mr Huberman, can you please consider co-ordinating a conversation like this with
Iain McGilchrist, British psychiatrist, literary scholar, philosopher and neuroscientist.

What a gem of an episode. Thank you soooooo much. I can't believe I can access this level of intellectual and professional discussion for free. You are a great human being. Thank you.
Agree
I'll end with sayings I hold close to me:
1) Knowledge is completely useless without the ability to change perspectives
2) You get what you put into it!
Happy New Year!
Great comment. Long but worth the read!
Exactly. Now I cringe thinking about the people I have given Huberman's name to. I have to try to remember their names.
Same here.. Peterson is not a scientist.. his views are opinions and controversial ones.. he has no place in a «science based lifestyle podcast» this is disappointing
get over it buddy
I feel the same.
The part about Revelations was astounding. Lots of gems in this conversation.
I absolutely love how attentive & focused Huberman always is when he brings in a guest.
His body language & eye contact. This man that already knows so much, is still a student.

Thank you so much I could’ve listened endlessly.
I really miss the old Huberman podcast; a scientist who found and read through all the studies on a topic, and presented the facts to us. It was so interesting. Now he seems to interview all kinds of youtube-self-help gurus 😢 I am interested in science, and I miss hearing about it.
I feel you
I also feel the same
He is able to sprinkle science with the right people, and the conversations are amazing. Sadly, though, I cannot say that for Peterson. Leaving aside the controversial figure he is, he's spent this whole interview being a charlatan. So little of scientific value escaped it. Huge props to Andrew for giving his best shot, though. Let's hope for a better one next time!
Same here
Jordan Peterson is a very smart psychologist. He’s not a RUclips self help guru. He just shares his philosophy and psychology degree on RUclips. Yes he’s religious but doesn’t mean he’s not a psychologist either. it’s like Huberman, he’s religious but is a Scientist as well

Thank you Huberman for inviting Dr. Peterson on to your show to have this discussion. I really gleaned a lot from this episode.
Dr Huberman,
Thanks again for this interview.
Huberman

Incredible this is for free!
I think you might have understood more then you think 👌
@@anthonyml7 thank you. And have a happy new year to you and your family.
Wow! I l❤ how this episode integrates Psychology & Neuroscience! Wow!
The moment around 1:06:30 where they connected the symbolic notion of aiming at a target to the ophthalmological was the match made gold nugget I was hoping for. I think that’s why Huberman had that slight grin, they came to the same page from separate stories.
I just said the same thing ❤
This is the first guest I am disappointed with. Waiting for the next episode

@@ElAndresRodriguezno, I felt like Dr. JP is interrupting the flow of conversation. He could be more knowledgeable but it is not coming across (for me, at least). This is not first time, recently his conversation with Elon, there also he constantly interrupted Elon
@@donniet685I did, skipped all the way to end. Now, I thinking to give it a go.. just to hear AH
One of Peterson's best podcasts I've seen . Andrew brings out the best in people
One of my favorite episodes. And thank you for sharing your journey of having this channel. Sometimes the motive of creating something great is very simple. And I am very grateful you did and I have benefited so much from listening to it to find my own adventure. 🎉🎉
I've loved hearing Andrew open up about his faith and prayer. I understand why it's scary to do so but it's meant a lot to me so thank you.
I am thoroughly grateful for this podcast. This conversation covering knowledge, beliefs, faith and rituals by two people I read frequently and admire inspires me immensely.
I wish you both the best to keep doing the great work in your field.
Regards.
This is peak RUclips. What a time to be alive.
This was amazing, such meaningful and needed conversation. I hope that it will be possible for you both to write a book together to properly merge neuroscience with psicology.
Truly an inspiration,
Greetings from Spain.
Love that you’ve admitted to your belief and practice in believing in god, especially in todays day and age. Congrats on your freedom. Love this for you ❤
Thank you from the heart! Cleaned the whole house while listening. What a wonderful way to finish the year. I feel elevated.
Interesting to listen how Mr. Peterson talks about impulse control and same time he cannot control his own impulse and not to interrupt Mr. Huberman
Lmao hes excited. He gotta practice what he learns.
😂
i have forgotten jbp's speech is like a hallucinating alpha version of chatgpt with glitches 😂😂😂
Two of my favorite people! Thank you to both of you@ Happy New Year! May 2025 be full of blessings for both of you!
I truly feel that Jordan Peterson is such a brilliant human being, he makes me very proud to be a Canadian❤
Not interrupting should have been a rule for life.
Meh
😂
😂😂😂
3:29:04 Huberman apologized for interrupting :(
@ haha i noted that as well 😄 almost thought it could have been ironic.
Me cartwheeling🤸♀️ as I listen to Dr. Huberman talk about Adlerian psychology, Courage To Be Disliked and also the idea of writing a book connecting Neuroscience with Psychology!❤
What a way to start the year.
Happy New Year!
Jordan really wants to win this one
Thank you both for bringing God into my life
Brilliant. An exceptional, inspiring conversation. Thank you for sharing.
Starts at 5:19 Your welcome
LOLOL
Thanks
Awesome, now if you could find a way for us to skip the 47 breaks he takes to plug his sponsors
Bless you
Sub personalities and integration of motivational states sounds very much like Internal Family Systems clinical work by Richard Schwartz. I would love to see him on your podcast.
I’m so pumped to hear this…the two most influential people affecting my life in 2024. You two would fill stadiums…Id pay whatever!!!! I will return in the future and document how what I heard here today affected my life for the good…
The combination of Neuroscience (Brain) and Psychology (Mind) is incredible!
Happy New Year to all listening ,watching or reading the transcripts and may god be with you all
2 contemporary psychologists that will go down in history. I look up to these men, as a student in a field that is currently dominated by women
huberman is not a psychologist, but that aside, i'm curious: how is it a problem for you that psychology is "dominated" by women (if that were the case)?
praying is first accepting and then honoring the gift of existence
Two of my favorite people … was beyond thrilled! Thank you for your candor, authenticity and vulnerability. To see two highly intellectual and successful individuals being human is so refreshing. Tremendously appreciated your banter, dialogue, and allowing the podcast to take an uncharted coarse. Profound and highly impactful. The impact you both have had on my life is ineffable!
Been of fan of JP for a while, but recently started looking at Huberman. Like what I'm seeing so far from him. He really seems to want to educate and share knowledge.
It’s so sad to see Huberman collaborate with Peterson…..
If you don't push the jewagenda, you get cancelled.
What?
I was blown away by so much that was discussed here. Especially the science behind the detriments of pornography. I’ve never heard it explained so well. I’m excited to print and study. Discuss responsibility and adventure with my teenage boys. Thankyou for articulating so well some of my own thoughts and feelings about many of these subjects.
Thank you dear Professor Huberman for this free knowledge. ❤
🫡💯👊🏽💥
P.S. Watch out for 8 year old biters 😳 32:57
Ok - i gave it an hour. And now I find myself planning an early escape. 😊
Because, once again, am realizing that JP has a TALENT for taking a simple concept and convoluting it out of ALL recognition.
I suspect he does this on purpose so as to confuse the issue to the point that the average person will fall prey to thinking that he must have a '
'brilliant' mind, because he loses them with all his fanciful philosophizing!
I agree with this comment so much. Exhausting.
Can you provide an example of him doing this?
He yearns for transcendence of ideas. But well it's understandable.
This will get a trillion views but Peterson doesn't seem to match the level of evidence and integrity i came to expect from the pod
How not?
y'all are so eager to throw wisdom out the window
Yeah I had mixed feelings when I saw this come up. Peterson imo has synthesized and popularised some important, accurate insights of great value to the population. Yet at times he's also demonstrated how emotional can corrode intellect and lead to assertions that contravene some of the same insights he has popularised.
I have come to see religion as the sum of our history that has attempted to draw useful lines on the page of our developing minds. Like a more important version of Santa claus etc. Regardless of the issues with religions, if they must fade away I believe we would do well to replace them with something instead of nothing.
I doubt it will cause issue
I throughly enjoyed this conversation. I absorbed it like nutrients for my mind & soul ❤. May God continue to bless you both in all your future endeavors. 🙏🏼
Love the education. It would be fascinating to have Dr. Gabor Mate` in the future podcast. You are appreciated, Dr. Huberman.
This imbalance in his commentary is what I find problematic.
yeah, i feel the same. im really interested in truly open minded people. jp is deeply ignorant. hes so judgemental about peoples life choices. lame af.
He talks about the clear cultural harm caused by conservative or far-right movements in his lectures and first book.
Dr. Huberman keeping his cool a being a masterful communicator.
Voting for Dr Dispenza to be invited in to talk about the pineal gland and all the other meditation work!
Yes!!!!
Inspiring interview to reflect and prepare for the year ahead. Thank you both for such a thought-provoking discussion to end 2024 on a high note!
Thank you Dr. Huberman and Dr. Peterson and wishing you and your entire team a very Happy New Year🎉
Crazy how many times these men can do a podcast and not just repeat their selves over and over again
Wow! Thank you and wow❤
I am dopaminergically motivated to like your post! 🤣
