    Just bought a greats uninc. Test road it at my local indoor center and it was the most fun I've had on a board in a long time, can't wait to hit the slopes this winter.

    Bought the Yes Asym like 8 or 9 years ago as my first board after reading your review on it. Wanna thank you guys for pointing me to the board I learned to ride on. I can't afford to get a new setup every year, so I've basically been riding the Asym since high school and I'm 25 now. Recently it's felt like it's finally starting to give up the ghost, so I'm thinking about the Greats as the Asym's successor, since they're kind of related, both being asymmetrical twins from the same manufacturer and all. Probably been a long time since anyone on your team rode the Asym, but any thoughts from memory on how it might compare to the current iteration of the Greats?

      Many thanks for the good words. It's been a while but yes it is a great board to get if you want to keep the asym twin thing going. The new sizes are wider and have a different disruption in the sidecut that improves edge hold. The feel overall is different but we all love the new feel. Especially the extra edge hold and a touch more camber.

    Hey man. Thanks for the review. I own jones MT. I am between this and burton custom. Is Greats too similar to the MT. Meaning should it be waste of money investing in the greats, and should I then choose the custom for variation in my quiver?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching. All three boards are very different and its very hard to say what's best based on the info given. Go Custom Camber if you want a ton of pop and carving power but a pretty unforgiving and not very floaty ride. Go Greats if you ride switch a lot, want more grip than the JMT and want a centered stance/mtn freestyle kind of board. Jones Mtn twin is between those two. There will still definitely be holes in your quiver owning two of these 3. Hit me up here if you want real advice that is tailored to you. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

    Yes Greats or Ride Twinpig?! I gotta pull the trigger today🙂🙂.

    Cheers🙂
    154 or 156 for Yes?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      You could go with either size YES Greats depending on how you want to ride. 156 for harder turning and more mountain speed. 154 for more maneuverability. The Twinpig is a great board too and you could go 151 or 154. 154 might feel a bit wide though. I don't know much about you so can't say which would be better. What is the main difference between the Greats and the Greats Uninc?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +3

      There is no difference. Same exact board since 2019. They just changed the name to honnor the old Uninc days.

    Can you ride this board setback?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      Not really. You can only get 1.25" back from center of board at at a 22" stance width if you set it all the way back. That is barely set back compared to most directional boards that are often waaaay more set back so you won't get much more directional float if you plan to ride it in pow. If you just want to ride it set back on groomers yeah it works ok but it's best set up centered and ridden perfectly duck.

    Hey what size for someone 5'10, 160 lbs and boot size 9 US as an all-mountain option? I already have a 153 Proto Slinger dedicated for park

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад

      154 as it's got a lot of surface area but I wouldn't add another asym twin to the mix for "All Mountain" as we define it. This is more Mtn Freestyle and has some overlap with the Proto Slinger. If you don't plan to set your board back in pow then yeah this would be fine I guess.

      @@thegoodridesnow I don't plan on setting it back as I have an Orca for powder. Just wanted something more stable than the proto when I wanted to do some all-mountain freestyle riding (groomers/trees/park) but could also butter without extreme effort. The Proto tends to get unstable as the speed picks up. Thanks for the reply!

      I’m 150 lbs at most, 5ft 9”. Boot is 10. Wrestling with 151 or 154. I have a Rider’s Choice 154.5 CX2.
      With GREATS being wider, and me being on the light of weight for 154, just struggling with pulling trigger on the size. I’m 58 years old. Go all over the mtn at Mammoth and park, but nothing big, but love a little half pipe sometimes. Thinking to get a pure pow board, so not thinking for pow, but would be nice if it worked. Ha. Any suggestions here would be great. Thank you.

      @@mikestern4745 Get a 151, I have a 154 and wish I had sized down so it's my all mountain deck for me. But I feel like had I gotten the 151 it would have been more enjoyable in the park but still capable everywhere else

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      I think you would probably be happiest with a 154 for more mountain riding. If you want to butter more, ride slow, play around the mountain and ride the park more the 151 is the better call. I will feel less stable and be less fun to turn compared to the 154 on the mountain.
