Just picked one of these up been watching you for a while always appreciate your insight and expertise
I got an asymulator.
Buddy got the greats.
Ready?
Fight!!
How did they compare?
I want to pick this board up for this season. Thanks for the review..
Click the link, buy 2, then be stoked!
Love your videos, and stoked for the review! I’m looking at the yes greats vs the asymulator and curious what you would go with? Thank you!!
Depends on the day.
IMO, the Greats would be the better board. The sidecut difference is bigger, the Asymulator barely has any and the graphics look better too!
I picked up a 156 with the Nitro Teams Pro bindings. Its an absolute dreamer. Its perfect for all mountain freestyle, for me its a quiver killer. Thanks so much for your recommendation!
Same! I use the nitro phantom bindings
I loved my Todd Richards version with the pumpkin graphic (no midbite) . A couple seasons back I bought the Save the Humans one when Yes updated the shape and added the midbite etc. I really disliked how that one rode so I sold it. I might check this one out if the internals and side cut have changed.
Nice napoleon Bronaparte...real nice bro...
Had preordered this and have been waiting for the review! Glad you liked it and felt it was a great all mountain/freestyle board. Did you find riding a stiffer boot/binding hindered anything? I typically prefer stiffer bindings/boots as I am 6'2 210~lbs so they give me better support.
No that's what I ride on everything.
This board is a heavy favorite for my new board this year. Between this and Bataleon Boss/Evil Twin at the moment.
Which one did you choose in the end?
@@drsteee Bataleon Boss. I would highly recommend... Great board
@@TwistedPixelsJosh it sounds very similar to the evil twin which I rode yesterday for the first time and damn that board is amazing! Edge to edge feeling is unbeatable for me, so smooth!
@@drsteee If I was buying this year I would do the Evil Twin + for sure.
Yea the greats a couple generations back was my favorite. Glad they improved on the new wider shape but with my size 9 boot the new shape is just too wide in the 156. Wish they would go back to the narrower shape they use to have.
Genuine question, why not just get a shorter board then?
I was thinking about getting last year's greats, but it looks like some things changed on this year's model.
The premiers was a very good idea I actually really like them so keep doing it
Did you try the greats from last season? If so, how would you compare the 21 and 22 models? I just got the 21 on sale and wondering if it's still a good buy
Can’t wait for the review on the yes basic RDM
I did not like it one bit. Coming from riding jackpot 21, I much preferred that. I had high expectations for the rdm and it failed miserably. I gave it about 5days on it. Sold it cheap
@@timhunt7155 WoW!! Thank you!!!! I was going to pick up the rdm during the weekend!
As a daily (all mountain freestyle / freestyle) driver … this one or the lib tech box knife or the gnu headspace? Thanks for your great work!
Greats all day.
Great review! It looks like this board is a little wider. Do you think people should down size it?
No.
Thanks, I have the 2020 and I agree with you that YES must have changed the geometries because the 2020 is not as all-mountain as the old models (pre 2018)
and it washes out on the heel edge. I noticed the RCR is now 2-4-2 and previous years (of the new design) was 1-4-1 so it seems they have fixed some of the issues.
I just got the 2020 and I am looking forward to a well rounded experience next month, came from an old Morrow Clutch board so I expect a massive improvement in the overall feel. I get the impression that the 2020 is the worst of the greats...is that really sø?
@@Gibbernak depends what u are looking for. 2020 greats its better for park and edge hold but not as good for all mountain, carving, turning, ollie as pre 2019.
@@ANETOKILLE yeah okay...was really looking for a do-it-all board since I love both speedruns and pow-cruises but also some play in the park...its is very Flexy compared to my old board so I might expect less manouverability...just loved the history behind it as well the asym twin feature and the graphics...thanks for responding
What do you mean when you say the board is for "asymetrical riders"?
Hi Avran, can we expect a review of the Yes Basic RDM that you got on the back ?
No I just put it there to make people think I rode it and ask this question.
@@AngrySnowboarder 😂stupid question, stupid answer
Plus one, waiting for yes basic rdm review!
Yo! Appreciate all these reviews. As an intermediate/advanced rider that loves powder, butters, side hits and would like to improve further in those areas with just one board…. Greats or Warca?
More directional Warca, more twin Greats.
Telos legend better than both?
If you're riding park.
Last one… bataleon whatever beyond medals? In comparison to greats and warca.Seems to get great one board quiver reviews but not sure about 3bt.
Lol..Then ride them like skiis.. what color was the base of that 156
Hey Angry, love your reviews. At 6'0" 155 pounds should I go for the 154 or 156? I'm out in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks for any advice 🙏
Your choice.
154! Now way 156, at your weight would make it too stiff and hard to whip around. Go look at the weight chart, 156 is 160-220. I am 160lbs and Yes even recommend me the 151 but I will probably go 154.
Question about the 2024 Yes Greats. At 210lbs I land in the 156-159 zone. I figure between the two lengths, the largest diff would be stability at speed on the 159. Am I missing anything else? PS: Your reco on the LibTech TRS and Yes Standard UnInk spot on, purchased both.
56 for more freestyle play and easier swing weight, 59 for more all around use and stability.
Hello Angry,
Thank you very much for all your review. Very informative and so good to watch.
220 pounds, size 12,6.1 feet. Looking for a second board to snowboard with my 8years old daughter. I already have a freeride snowboard. I want a snowboard to ride switch and do grounds trick. I will not go fast. east coast condition.
Is the greats un inc a good one for my program? Or agent / pro or any other suggestion.
Thank you very much,
The big thing is making sure you can find a wide in your size in either of those options.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thank you! Does ice edge hold on rome agent pro is good?
Keep your edges sharp you’re fine.
Hey Angry, binding question for the Greats. Old cartel (2018 version), Rome vice, or Jones orion? The Greats is replacing a Salomon Assassin for all mountain riding
Vice
Got the 2024 version on sale. Wanting to try some Now bindings with it to see what skatetech is all about. I mostly ride all mountain, carving and playing around on groomers. No park. Which binding would you recommend? I was thinking Now X Yes or Select Pro.
Select pro
Hello, are the Union Strata's good for the greats? I have the greats in 156, thank you :)
They'll work.
Hey angry, love the asymulator. It’s my daily. Only issue is my boots are on the cusp of being to big for the 156. I have owned the greats before and liked it except the washy heel side . Since you reckon they have fixed it, what’s the better carver? And what would be your preference. If they don’t make a asymulator mw 23 I might move back to greats if that heel side is fixed. Cheers bro :)
Gnu Riders Choice C3.
@@AngrySnowboarder the riders choice better than both of them? Let’s hope they do a 55w next year
@@timhunt7155 for what you’re describing it is.
@@AngrySnowboarder will you have a ride zero review? Does that carve well?
Any binding recommendations for this board? I only ride Adidas boots if that makes a difference in choice..
Someone didn't pay attention to the end of the review. There's a list of recommendations.
For an intermediate trying to pick up spinning / side hits and a bit of buttering, switch, carving on the groomers. And a little bit of playing around between the trees (slow!) - with friends who are slower. So a lot of 'start/stop'. Would it be Greats or Asymulator? Historically have preferred lighter boards (maybe I'm just lazy)
Either would work but I would probably push you more towards the Asymulator.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks! Seems this is the last year Capita is going to manufacture the Asymulator so I'll go get one now!
@@AngrySnowboarder Sorry, for the above - 170lbs (trying to lose 5 lol) / 8.5 shoes. Would you suggest a 54 or 56? Thank you!
Hey man. Thanks for the review. I own jones MT. I am between this and burton custom. Is Greats too similar to the MT. Meaning is it be waste of money investing in the greats, and should I then choose the custom for variation in my quiver for a more aggressive ride?
It's a true twin asymmetrical board, if that's what you're looking for go for it. Custom is so fucking meh.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks man 🙏. Appreciate it. Keep up the great work 💪
Yes Greats Uninc vs Gnu RCC3? Go!
More context: rad dad here. Mostly ride at Brighton. Also PCMR and Canyons in Utah Like to cruise and hit small side hits.
Pros: Yes great has awesome UNINC logo. , yes I am old and think that's cool. Love my typo.
GNU, US made.
Greats is a little more all mountain versatile than the RCC3. I feel the RCC3 actually has the better asym sidecut.
Really interested in this board. I am 6ft 175lbs and size 11US boots. Ya think 156 will do it? I already have a Hovercraft 160 for powder and big carving, so the greats will be my all mtn, side hit, cruising board. Thanks!
Gonna be riding with the Orion Bindings and 32's Christenson Banditos.
56 wide?
I don't see wide versions of the 2024 greats uninc. The regular 56 is very wide underfoot, as are all the sizes, right?...@@AngrySnowboarder
Hello Angry. I m 190 lbs size 10.5. Did i make a wrong choice in buying this board in 154? I mostly carve and want to improve my switch riding. Should i go and exchange it with 156?
Thank you!
If you're riding a smaller hill and not dealing with a vast array of elements you'll probably be fine, if you're riding something that has a lot of varying terrain then I'd consider bumping up.
Question about width size. I ordered the 2024 Greats in 159 as my previous Yes Standard was also a 159 but notice the width size is a Lil larger on the greats. Will I still get awgay with this 159? Didn't test it yet could possibly exchange it maybe. I have boot size 10 and weigh 194lbs. Thx much for your feedback!
You're fine.
@@AngrySnowboarder Cool thx for your quick feedback.
what do you think of rome katana's for this board
Great choice.
Got the newest 24 version of the greats in a 154 and it seems very stiff, I am 200lbs and confident rider, did Yes change the flex profile of this board?
No.
How would you compare it to the asymulator? They are comparable, but do you have any specific differences on your mind?
Asymulator is softer all the way through. This has a different edge grip due to sidecut. So you notice it more steering underfoot. Then there's the differences in the camber profiles. If you're doing more park I think the Asymulator wins, but if you're riding more all mountain then The Greats takes it.
Click the affiliate links and buy both?
Hey if Im 160 lbs and 5ft 11 should i go for the 151 or 154?
51 if you are riding a smaller hill and doing more freestyle, 54 for more charging.
What you guys think Gnu RC C3 or YES greats? whats the better buy?
I somewhat put them on equal grounds, but it comes down to what you want performance-wise from them. The Greats in my opinion is the better all arounder, but the RC C3 is a little better at charging, riding pipe, and boosting bigger jumps.
Which board would you say in your opinion would be closets to the smoking asymmetrical?
Probably the Bench Warmer from Ride in terms of edge hold. The Greats is probably the closest in terms of flex.
I did try this board a couple of seasons ago like 3 years maybe and definitely I did not like this board but like you said maybe it's different.
There's no maybe, it is different.
I'm 5'8, 164 lbs, high intermediate, should I go for the 151 or 154?
51 for more play and freestyle, 54 for more versatility and charging.
Have you tested the Jones flagship or is it the same model like the one you tested in 2020?
Have you tried out the new uninc model? Any difference?
See the pig on the base of this, always been an UnInc model.
Hi! Is the 2019 "save the humans" model any different to the new ones? Since I've found one in great shape at a good price. Thanks!
Yes.
Hey would I go wrong if I put the strata or the contact pro on it?
Strata over Contact Pro.
@@AngrySnowboarder or better now ? 🙈
Where in Colorado is there year round snow, or at least snow right now?
I think a lot of these boards were tested in the spring. If you subscribe to his patreon you can read the pre-reviews in advance.
There's literally snow on most peaks above 12k feet.
Hi! This or twinpig? Thanks!
Sure.
Pls do the warpig for this year!
Because you said please. It's on the order from Ride, but no clue if it's on a boat, plane, truck, train, the back of Big Jim's car, or being walked across America to me.
@@AngrySnowboarder Slim is excavating it from historical sites from that documentary he was talking about
Question about size. Will 2024 Greats in 156 be good size wise for someone 6'0, 155 lbs, 12 US boot?
Going to be tight unless you grab the wide version.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks for the reply! I have read that Yes Greats is a wider board on the inserts, but is there a wide version of it?
@@ordinarycasual9694Get the 159 and you'll have no problems - I'm a US size 13 boot and am riding the 159 this season. Had no issues with toe/heel drag, and the board rocks
Hey Avran, am 6ft, 170-175lb, US 10.5 boot. Looking at this more for all mountain than park. What size would you recommend?
59 is the next size up from the 56 go with that.
@@AngrySnowboarder thanks. Just so I’m learning - is the sizing up recommendation because of my height or the all mountain use case?
Who gives a fuck about your height, it's about your weight and what you want out of the board.
@@AngrySnowboarder yeah I thought height was irrelevant but seem to get conflicting advice and figured maybe there’s a leverage component to the design. Cheers.
Any advice on sizing? I'm 5'9" 9.5 shoes size, 185lbs. Thanks! I just keep hearing different shit from everyone..So I'm here to hear more different shit from more people. -_-
Depends on what you want it for.
@@AngrySnowboarder Mostly carvy speed stuff, a little bit of park. And I'd like to dial in my spins a little more this year (small to medium jumps and kickers)
@@virn1987 Get the 56.
hola amigo , good work angry bird , in swedish your name is (Arg fågel ) .. :)
thinking about this greats ...trying to get the best model thru the years ... i have been in this snowboard thing for more less 25 yrs .. ride many boards thru this time ... what will be your opinion ? my foot is 9 US and 75 kg all around rider , ( surfer and MTB biker) when the snow is gone , 65 yrs old ... but the riders still call me the legend bks i ride like 30 yrs old jajajaj ;; what size will you like it for me to ride ? intentions to ride this board in Sweden rounded mountains most ice than pow pow ...like the park transitions not big shit ( im 65 ) no extra parts in the hospital ....but love ride thru trees pow to the knees ...thats all ... and love spray skiers on the runs .hhahahaha ;;; like you ; have a nice winter 2022 ... ( are you using corona mask when you ride ? not in sweden ::::
Hi man,, respect 65 years old and still riping, 154 with union atlas will give you a good all-mountain platform, a 151 with union strata will give you a more park-focused ride, you know, KIWI ride ;)
Are you suppose to down size this board?
No.
which one do you prefer compared with standard uninc ?
Depends what I'm doing.
For 220 lb rider, size 12 boot. 156 or 159?
59
@@AngrySnowboarderThanks! I saw your post about Endeavor's spring sale. For a midwest all mountain freestyle deck that can be playful and hold an edge in harder packed snow should I go pioneer, bod, greats, or yes standard?
Greats is the standout.
@@AngrySnowboarder Roger that.
@@AngrySnowboarderIf I don't eurocarve and want it more playful can I get away with the 156 greats?
hi how much does this board weigh with and without bindings please.
Ummm I would like to know how much it ways with your bindings and your right boot, super pretty please? Also what boot is best for me thanks in advance. 😁
Today is not the day to pull this shit. I will discuss more on Thursdays live stream.
Hope your day gets better bro.
The day was fine, some poor bafoon is going to get lampooned come Thursday for asking stupid questions about board weight.
@@bbolanda18 best boot is the one that fits you correctly 👍
F**k, now I wish I had this in 159 over the Asymulator 156
You need two boards now click the link
Might be just me, but it looks pretty wide
Mid wide for sure.
Regarding the Capita Asymulator comparisson: does this board also throw you a little sideways on ollies because of that crazy shape nose and tail?
I hope companies will stop with these unusable limp d heads they put on boards for marketing purposes.
Why ruin the buttering experience on an otherwise awesome board!?! ~X(
No.
Thanks!
Sounds like a keeper then. :)
Just have to get used to eating some snow from time to time on butters.
I can't actually recall any pro sbowboarder who rides crazy a$$ shapes like these. Why oh why do we put up with this nonsense. :/
Why do you have a picture with someone's teeth behind you?
Because I can.
I have this board from the previous season. It is - hand down - the worst board I've ever tried! Unrideable! It could not do anything at all. Manages to sink its nose in 5cm soft snow. Cannot make any type of turn. It is totally useless. I hate it! I said this to Yes - they replied that it is park board and I used inappropriately. Can you imagine? Turning is inapropriate use for a snowboard! It is by any means not Greats - I call it Yes Worst.
Its a twin board, don't expect it to float well. But it does well, compared to other twin park boards due to the extra width. It carves really well. If you can't carve on this, or even turn, you should really f*cking learn to snowboard before you start buying $500 boards :D
@@okosakaroklenni this extra width is exactly what ruined the other wise good board. I rode quite many boards and I have never experienced such issues like with this one, So do not tell me what I should learn to do. BTW I paid a lot less for it.
@@okosakaroklenni there is zero chance he can ride. lmao
@@finroddd if the board width is causing you problems, than you should seriously improve your thechnique. If you cant flip this board, than what about a korua, a cool bean or a dupraz d1. You just strap in and die? :) Its not the most nimble board for someone with small feet, but still among the easier ones.
@@andrewcrocker3534 probably counter rotating or just jerking his legs back and fort. Something that could be fixed in a few hours, but no, lets rant about a board being shit :D
