It's great having all these cool brands. I love your content as you come across as a decent bloke passionate about what you do. There is no one brand that rules all. I do love Capita and Nitro but next year will probably go for a Jones or an Amplid. It's so much fun to try another brand. I can't afford a Lambo or a Ferrari so next best thing is a new Board every year. Rock on everyone...
I've ridden several boards from different brands in my 14 years of riding. They all lasted me an average of 3 years before I wrecked them in some way. If you have your technique down and you build a setup that matches it's purpose (park board for the park, powder board for the backcountry etc), you find that there really isn't a "bad" setup. I started out on a '08 160W Burton Bullet and thought it sucked because I couldn't press it well or hit the rails. Years (and several boards) later, I rode it again on a whim and and had a great park session with it. Long story short, get your skills up before blaming a potential great board for your shortcomings.
I remember when forums with burton bindings were the go to setups. Forum Youngbloods and Destroyers, there late 2000s graphics. 2009/2010 are some of my favorite board graphics ever, Destroyers were fun, and even just some of the old forum logo designs are really iconic and look clean on the bottom of the board. Idk what the deal with them is anymore, but i noticed they changed there logo a bit and are putting out new boards. They should go back to the OG icon and just re use some old graphics tbh, they were the cleanest boards imo.

I’ve owned and ridden a lot of snowboards over the 30+ years I’ve been riding…. They were all fun to ride but 4 boards standout. 2 Solomon boards, one was a freeride board that I don’t recall the model, FR400? I wore it out and gave it to someone to learn on. The other Solomon I still have, sickstick, it’s starting to lose some of its snap but it’s a hot rod. 1 libtech skate banana, it was a big board, a 163 I think, it was super heavy but a super fun ride. I loaned it out and never got it back. And 1 rosignol powder fish. I think it’s called sushi or something. I don’t get the conditions to ride it a lot but when I do, it’s heavenly. It’s also super fun in slush. Other notables… I rode a custom x for three days that wasn’t as playful as I like but holy smokes I could go so fast on that thing and not feel unstable. I had a Burton flight attendant that I liked a lot for two seasons then I just didn’t like it anymore and couldn’t say why really, it got boring somehow… sold it. I liked a couple other libtech boards too but I don’t remember what models… all mountain type boards. If I had to pick one company, I’d pick Solomon. But Libtech never let me down either. Burton has treated me well. K2 has impressed me on occasion. Blah blah…. One thing that pushes the Solomon boards to the lead is they seem to be light weight. I’m not sure if they really are lighter, but they feel lighter both riding and on the lift. Also!!! Having multiple boards is the way to go. I like to have a freeride all mountain type board 150-155, a pow board fish shape, and a longboard, stiffish and 160-165.
I think you should do another one of these.. add in Neversummer, Gilson, Bataleon, Yes, and I’m sure there’s a few other good ones I’m missing that added in with the brands you already got would be a hell of a vid.
Because snowboard factories are hella expensive and there are a lot of companies. You tend to find that the big factories manufacture boards for multiple companies. Even Capita who have their own factory. They produce Nitro and Amplid and a couple of others I can't remember.
Picked up a Burton Skeleton Key last season at Radio. Can't find anything to hate on....its a great board for me...All great companies mentioned but having great pro's fit you makes the difference!

I figured that’s what your answer was gunna be. And I agree for the most part. I currently own 8 boards a one from every company you mentioned outside of nitro. Like you mentioned the boards are all very comparable in all aspects. IMO tho Jones bases are just a notch above the rest at that $500-$700 pp.. I slept on Jones until last year was always a big capita and lib guy, but def am leaning harder and hard Jones way. I would say if you’ve never tried a Jones, grab the reg Mtn twin($550) or the Frontier($500) you won’t regret it Especially after I bought a Mercury last year and after 3 rides it broke and I’m only 160lbs and have never broke a board and when I contacted them they pretty much told me it was my fault. Also owned the first year of the super DOA and the top sheet was trash, also after 3 runs was missing a good amount around the edges, they again told me not their fault, when I’ve never had that happen before. Which is dissapointing cause the DOA has been my baby for 7+ years, and loved the merc, but with those bad experiences it’s hard to send people their way when they ask my advice like many do.
I just bought the Salomon assassin pro 2022 version. Is there anything u cud say cuz Salomon is a new brand for me but I always wanted a Salomon since I was a kid for some reason. Back in the 90s I loved the way they looked and said one day I'll own a Salomon.
If you don't care about riding a 'cool' brand and all the marketing hype, BUT you are more interested in getting THE absolute BEST performance and quality: Salomon and Nitro ( boards ), Burton and Nitro ( bindings ), Deeluxe and Nitro (boots) - I can also recommend Salomon boots BUT get the wide version of their boots if you can - their standard boots are narrow. Most important piece of gear IMHO are the boots, followed by the board (with correct sizing and spec) and lastly the bindings (correctly sized to fit the boot size and board waist width).
You have to included YES and Never Summer in that top tier conversation for sure and please eliminate companies that also make skis! I have a quiver of 5 boards but owns more. I truly believe that you love the brands that fits your body properly: i am 173 cm but weigh sometime 70 and often 80 kg with small médium feet (41) i have noticed i love narrow waist and stiff boards. Not necessarely cambered but quite stiff. I would love to ride à capita mercury or a amplid dada in pow but the waist are often too wide for me so i ended loving a rossignol revenant, stiffer in the middle, narrower etc etc. I even loved a head instinct (weird huh) super narrow méga stiff but a true gem in Park. For jibbing i dont mind riding à short burton nug it is not wide and stiffer than what you'd think for its purpose. I ride a huge 178 swallow tail board for long open runs in pow. No problèm as long as it is not wide and quite stiff. My main criteria now is not the brand it is the Flex and the waist measurements. I made mistake buying boards too wide.... I could not handle it even on super soft noodle boards. Maximum for me is a 25.6 waist... But on a carving board. Some brands are too wide for me. I love them but dont buy them. So go to a true snowboard shop that will sell you something that fits YOU first.
Hello, for your search of snowboarding look at "Clone snowboards" hand made in France by Phil Lebonge (Clone-ind). If you love snowboarding, no time to waste try a Clone.
To expand, the mothership is a major reason why I would pick them. Their build quality is amongst the best. Also I agree with their camber profiles. I fundamentally am opposed to center rocker such as lib techs and such. I would rather have camber/cam rocker/camber 2.0 or any of those variations in-between. The center rocker concept is just not for me, especially when it has raised tip/tail while on a flat surface.
Also I think that raised contact points to reduce catchiness is overrated. I would rather have a flat/rocker contact point section as it would still be less catchy than traditional camber, but it won’t wash out as much as the arbor cambers for instance.
No-one does. All the companies make stuff you will like and stuff you will not. I was always a 100% Burton fanboy in the 90s and 00s but the board I bought this season was from Bataleon.
I do agree with or list but Endeavor, Amplid and Rome are super solid. Bataleon, Yes, Arbor and Ride are solid. But like you said there's too many. I have a jones stratos, burton process and a capita scott stevens. Missing a pow board nex season I will get the endeavor archetype. Love the content keep up the good work.

I definitely noticed lighter weight when I used to ride Salomons and that was one of the aspects I really enjoyed with them
BATALEON !?
Arbor Snowboards have caught my eye. Do you have an opinion on them? Their boards look fantastic but I've never ridden one.
It's been a long time since I've ridden one, but they have some rad boards. The Iguchi looks pretty sick
Any opinions on Salomon? Looking to get Salomon Sight as my first board. Thanks
That's true. Sounds like Capita is going to start pressing Forum's new boards now too
Burton! Riding them since 1988. Made in USA
Loving your content dude, keep killing it!!
Thanks, this only the start!
I’ve ridden several board brands and there’s nothing like Burton!
A lot of people would agree
Nope… your missing out on a real ride
Picked up a Burton Skeleton Key last season at Radio. Can't find anything to hate on....its a great board for me...All great companies mentioned but having great pro's fit you makes the difference!
Awesome, the Skeleton Key is a lot of people's favorite board
I just bought a Salomon Huck knife and now learned it is not very beginner friendly. Should I grab another board or stick with this and try to progress on it?
You could push through and ride that board, but it would be better for you to find an easier ride. The Huck Knife is more of an advanced park board
###1 Mervin Lib Tech Gnu T RicePro Riders Choice C2 Magna Traction Union Bindings === Magic Carpet Much respect to all other brands putting out quality snowboard gear!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup, Mervin makes some solid boards
I wanna try a Bataleon Evil Twin.
Who makes the best snowboards? The correct answer is yes. NOT Yes snowboards, just yes.
Exactly.
I really like Burtons deep thinker and the Flight attendant.
But want to try a Moon child ??
Solid video dude. It's a hard topic to take just because there are too many brands, and everyone is biased.
Oh I know, especially when a particular person's favorite brand isn't mentioned
I love my Capita DoA!
Dope!
Next stop, the best snowboarding binding companies, and outerwear, and goggles 😀
You got it!
great contents! this channel is so underrated
I appreciate that!
Signal and Nidecker are my go to.
Capita is the best, but if you want a sick but more cost effective job/park boards look at Public!
What do you think about Nidecker?
I don't have an experience with them
Good video but you should also provide some criticism for the the boards/companies instead of saying everyone is good. It gives a fuller picture of the products and helps everyone make a more informed decision
Jones ,Nidecker, Flow, YES., Now Rome are all owned by the same company (Nidecker group)
👍
Love your list but feel like Never Summer and Rossignol should be on the list as well. They make some great boards!
Good call!
As well as Arbor, Bataleon, Rome and a bunch of others. But it was stated in the beginning of the video, that only handful of names will be called.
NS😂
Rossi is a ski company
What's wrong with NS?
I figured that’s what your answer was gunna be. And I agree for the most part. I currently own 8 boards a one from every company you mentioned outside of nitro.
Like you mentioned the boards are all very comparable in all aspects. IMO tho Jones bases are just a notch above the rest at that $500-$700 pp.. I slept on Jones until last year was always a big capita and lib guy, but def am leaning harder and hard Jones way.
I would say if you’ve never tried a Jones, grab the reg Mtn twin($550) or the Frontier($500) you won’t regret it
Especially after I bought a Mercury last year and after 3 rides it broke and I’m only 160lbs and have never broke a board and when I contacted them they pretty much told me it was my fault.
Nidecker opinion? Thanks
I've never held one so I can't say
I just bought the Salomon assassin pro 2022 version. Is there anything u cud say cuz Salomon is a new brand for me but I always wanted a Salomon since I was a kid for some reason. Back in the 90s I loved the way they looked and said one day I'll own a Salomon.
I had ridden both the assassin and the assassin pro for years and they were some of my favorite twin boards. Salomon is a great brand
id say ride should be on this list but capita or lib is my jam
hi bury i resently boght a FLOW snowboard, im new in this, its my first board want to know if u know something about it ?
Flow was ok, but I'm pretty sure they aren't really a company anymore
Your my ginger hero
Ride makes really good stuff
I ride their boots and love them. They just missed the cut for this video because it was getting a little long
What are your thoughts on the capita indoor survival 2021?
It's too soft for what I like, but it's great if you're looking for a flexy board
Only even ridden K2 and Burton - excited to possibly replace my custom x with the Capita BSOD
I really want to ride the BSOD too
Fun fact: K2 is owned by ZIPLOC. 😂
Yes and Amplid are where it's at
What about the durability of Never Summer boards???
I am thinking about getting a lib tech or an arbor board..
Nice, I like Lib Tech a lot
Arbor does. A-frame is the king of all mountain!!!❤
What about Amplid or Nidecker?
Anyone know about lobster? I’ve been eyeing at getting one of theirs for quite some time now
There more of park oriented boards
@@SearchofSnowboarding thank you, thought so since it’s coming from the brothers, and the 3d like technology as well
It's all subjective to the users riding style, so it is going to be a different list for everyone's style
great vid. informative and concise
Much appreciated!
You have to included YES and Never Summer in that top tier conversation for sure and please eliminate companies that also make skis! Product specific conversation is one thing, but if we are looking for the best snowboarding companies, let’s stick with those that devote ALL of their passion to snowboarding!
I love NS boards but just so you know they do make skis as well.
Lol shut up.
Dumb logic.
What are your thoughts on Gnu?
Gnu makes fun boards, but I prefer Lib Tech
I'm only 50 and been riding NS since 1992 1993. And owned dozens of different snowboards
Forum . Always has been , always will be .
🤘
Today I'm going to test my brand new snowboard
Awesome!
I got a pair of medium step ons , I've been looking to buy a new board to replace my Rome Artifact 153 with something way lighter and smaller. ( 5'9, 160lb) all mountain use. Any ideas?
Check out the Lib Tech Golden Orca in a 150
@@SearchofSnowboarding that's a dang nice board ! It looks like the edge holding would be good in the US north east where everything is ice. ( NJ, NY, VT,)
It seems better than the Burton Process I was looking at.
@@-Good4Y0u Yeah, I would say the Process is more of a park board
@@SearchofSnowboarding I ended up with a 2023 Never Summer Proto Synthesis Board size 152 . Paired with burton step-ons + DC control dual boa boots. A pretty significant update from my old Rome either way.
I tried to find the lib tech board at that size in my area, but the only one around was a 153 from last year. .
@@-Good4Y0u Sweet, sounds like you're ready to rip
Poor boys delight…Rossignol Sashimi 160. Posi posi rider, +21 +9 due to back surgery, this is just better on the body nowadays. The ride is frkn awesome though!!
Mervin and Nitro for me 🏂
What about arbor?
Ride snowboards are good to ride on and my choice
Road gnu and lib tech for 16 years.
I'm switching to Salomon starting this season because Mervin manufacturing cancelled one of the all time best snowboarders out there Nicolas muller. I'm not down with cancel culture. I'm way stoked to start ridding my 21/22 assassin pro.
The assassin pro is one of my favorite all time boards
@@SearchofSnowboarding good to know. Your review of it and others have me way stoked to start shreddin on it. Have a great winter on the mountain brother!
Are you liking the Salomon better then the gnu and lib tech
@@dsd-downshiftdave8056 i don’t know for Salomon, but i have been riding lib a lot and accidentally switched to my DC ply couple of years back. I tell you what a difference! Amazing ride even though without those magne-traction, c3 stuffs. A friend of mine also tried the Capita and the moment he did that, he sold the next day the lib;)
Sick, sounds like you've got your quiver dialed. I've been really liking the narrower waist on the Capita Aeronaut
What about k2?
I ride Apo 2012 MTD Hybrid Rocker 159W
APO, nice. I'm not sure if they're a company anymore
@@SearchofSnowboarding Ye it's been years since they were active. Rare french boards
Hello, for your search of snowboarding look at "Clone snowboards" hand made in France by Phil Lebonge (Clone-ind). If you love snowboarding, no time to waste try a Clone.
Sounds interesting
Brooooo,I just bout head snowboard ebi lyt and head googles magnify 5k and there are no reviews,is it a bad company??why isn't it popular??
Head's not really a company anymore for boards
Kessler , I won a silver metal riding one :)
Nice, there we go!
My initial pick is capita. BSOD, mercury series, DOA series, honestly they crush it imo
Yeah I'm fully backing any boards from the Mothership too, I've been loving the way they've been feeling
What other boards have you ridden
@@dsd-downshiftdave8056 Most of the top boards on the market from the past few years
No-one does. All the companies make stuff you will like and stuff you will not.
I was always a 100% Burton fanboy in the 90s and 00s but the board I bought this season was from Bataleon.
I haven't been on a Bataleon before, but they def have a devoted following
Dang I thought Joyride was gonna make the list
I do agree with or list but Endeavor, Amplid and Rome are super solid.
Bataleon, Yes, Arbor and Ride are solid. But like you said there's too many. I have a jones stratos, burton process and a capita scott stevens.
Missing a pow board nex season I will get the endeavor archetype.
Love the content keep up the good work.
Sounds like you've got a great quiver
I love my Scott stevens pro
@@KobeBryantFromTheLakers I been thinking about that board scott stevens but idk.. idk if a park killer is exactly what I want next
Out of the boards you've ridden which go you like best
What about RIDE?
R O M E
Bataleon snowboards all day. Can’t beat 3BT
I mean there are def brands that are better lol…. but most of the big brands are all good 👍 Our crew rides Burton, Captiva, Arbor, and Battleon… all good brands for sure 🤘
Totally agree not every brand is as good as the other, but the majority of the top brands are
If you had to choose one of the ones you listed, which would you choose
@@dsd-downshiftdave8056 personally would choose Burton… they put a ton of R&D into their boards and basically invented the snowboard in the first place… but honestly it’s just preference… all those brands I mentioned above are solid 🤙
Ride Warpig One Love :D
Sweet Ride!
I’m an Arbor guy personally
Sweet
Capita
Bataleon
K2
Burton
Lib Tech
