Love my sb rt from last year. Thanks for the review last year as it made me pulled the trigger. Couldn’t be more stoked. Happy to see it is still a favourite with more sizes available this year. Going to be looking at the graphic for 25/26 and will probably be getting that one. The 90s skate theme on this one is sick but it just isn’t for me. Love the board personally and couldn’t be happier with it. Pair it with force classics for big mountain or some ultras for more park/freestyle and you cannot you wrong.
Best one to pair with the PYL Uninc for the heavier PNW snow to replace an old Yes The Greats? Looking for something that can focuses on carving, side hits, and trees but not going to sink in the heavier snow and still up for a little park here and there. Love the videos!
Big fan here! East coast rider looking for an all mountain freestyle board (with an emphasis on freestyle) that's not too demanding. Something that I can be laid back with but still charge when I want to. Riding mostly groomers, side hits, buttering around with some park laps mixed in, which board would you choose out of the following? Yes All Out, Yes Typo, Spring Break Resort Twin, Bataleon Beyond Medals, Jones Rally Cat, Gnu Head Space, Lic Tech TRS, Ride Shadowban, or the Ride Moderator, thanks for everything you do!
Great video, I've watched a lot of your reviews and really appreciate your insight. How would you compare the Capita SB to the Indoor Survival? I'm an advanced east coast rider size 10 boot 5'9 140lbs. I'm currently on the 2019 Never Summer Chairman in a 161w which I love, but it's certainly more freeride focused. I want to round out my quiver with a fun smaller twin that has some flex and pop for buttering, sidehits and the occasional jib, without sacrificing the camber carve. Thanks in advance!

Appreciate any advice!
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks for the advice, Avran! Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to demo the board before buying. Do you think I can go for the Deepfake blind, or would it be risky without testing it first?
Obviously I'm going to say if you can go test it. But from what you're describing I'm very confident it's the right move in the direction you want to go for better carving, stiffer flex, more snap, and a more damp ride.
Right! I've ridden every version of the Assassin and the Pro since they came out. Every camber, every sidecut, every core tweak, and these just hit so different and rode so much better.

Looking for my first board after close to 10 years away. Last board was an Outdoor Living. Looking for something all mountain, but playful. Mainly resort riding, chill carving groomers, and some easy butters. Been considering a Nidecker Gamma (ATX?), Yes Greats Uninc, GNU RC3, or the Shadowban. What do you think, Avran? Love the vids
Hey Avran! Wondering if the Slash atv 157 would be too thin for my 45 boots (mondo 29). I spend more of the time in the jump line, and take the rest of the mountain as a park, looking for sidehits and stuff, and not into hard carving or anything. Thanks!
Great work Angry! Wondering whether a SB resort twin or Yes hybrid would compliment a ride twinpig better? Looking to use for big mountains and free ride powder

Hey Avron! After some research and your videos I decided to pick up the Jones Mountain Twin. Any suggestions on a good binding to pair it with? Thanks for the videos homie!
Thanks for the list! If you have a sec, I'd be super grateful if I could get a quick opinion on what you think would be the best board for me? I was thinking of getting a traditional camber board like the Nitro Alternator for the pop and carving, but everyone seems to like the camber with rocker on the ends all mountain boards way more, like most of the boards on this list. My riding style is basically trying to get air off of everything (side hits, rollers, dips, park jumps), carving around blues and blacks, and some limited park stuff like straight airs, 180s and 360s on sub-XL jumps, and 5050s/boardslides on boxes and rails/tubes. I have been riding a K2 Parkstar since I was a teen (I've been riding for about 15 yrs), so I want to branch into something that fits my riding better, since I don't ride park nearly as much as I get older. Oh and for the record, I live on the ice coast (so no powder) and am size 10 boots, 300 lbs. Thanks so much!
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks for the tip! I didn't think my weight would affect the flex thaaaat much! Like the Arbor Candle Rain you just reviewed, or more like the capita Aeronaut? What boards would you recommend with the stiffness required for me to still get good pop?
This is a two fold thing. You have kind of a small sized boot for your weight so you don't necessarily have to go to a wide, but at your weight I would recommend going that route to give more girth underfoot. Then as you stated going to something stiffer would stop the board from over flexing or decambering faster. I think the Aeronaut is a better choice than the Alternator or the Candle Rain for what you're describing.
The 164w shadowban is pretty dam stiff compared to what they rate it at. Its got only a tiny bit of rocker compared to say a mt. It’s almost full camber. And it rips though east coast hard pack like butter. Rides switch like a full twin but its kinda directional so carves really good . Sick board
Hey Avran, do mean at 6:33 that the Mercury with purple version isn't as twitchy as the last two models? So it would track down straight better, without the contact points wanting to catch and spin the board? I'm not a native speaker and don't really know what it means when a board feels "twitchy".
Hey Avran, thanks for the class vid. Have you had a chance to ride the K2 hypnotist? Curious how it would compare to the ass pro, tryna choose between them. Mainly just want a light stiff board for sending spins off medium/large jumps and big sidehits. Already have freeride and pow covered by my other boards
@@AngrySnowboarderwoops foolishly I had watched that already forgive my memory. So they've both got great camber snap and edge hold, ass pro is lighter and the hypnotist is stiffer - would it be fair to say ones more playful and ones better for sending it large?
I love the Shadowban callout and I have a question for you on it. I am a massive, massive fan of the stiffer, also perfectly wide brother - the Algorhythm. However, I find that it just doesn’t hold up how I need it to for bigger cliff drop. What board should I try next? Would love to get on a Berzerker but I’m afraid of the small waist (10.5 boot and generally prefer a big surface) but I’m seriously considering because of the limited options at Ride! I also own a Deepfake but really wish I didn’t buy it. I miss the damp ride of the carbon slimewalls and the slim walls just cut so deep I feel like it’s dragging me down. It’s also a snappy SOB. Really respect your opinion and help all these years. You honestly got me on the Algorhythm in the first place.
Decided to pick up the Slash ATV (last one at a bike shop I stopped at in Idaho) because of you. My question though would be would you still recommend the Rome Katana over the Pro model for the board? Otherwise I currently own a pair of Malavitas and a pair of Union Atlas.
Was considering the Gremlin for a great all mountain board that can handle heavy ICE and some powdery tree runs - it literally has the perfect profile I am looking for... HOWEVER, a lot of people say its very unforgiving and punishing if you aren't experienced with pure camber, is this true? If so, is there 2-3 similar boards you recommended that aren't as catchy? -East coast, intermediate rider, that mostly hits various types of groomed or choppy trails, very occasional tree runs on snowy days, will admit a lot of trails are steep and patchy.
@@AngrySnowboarder ahh, I thought c3 was their “closest to all camber” board they made and could get catchy when combined with the ice eating edge design.

Was set on the Bataleon Goliath, but now with the Beyond Medals suggestion, I'm not sure what to think as they're pretty similar... Anyone have experience with either of these boards?
Thanks, angry team, 2 questions I would be grateful if you could answer: MT Pro, is it much stiffer than regular MP? You've been praising the Standard and the Standard Uninc, are they still close to the honorable mentions of this top5?
There's a jump up in flex from the MT to the MT Pro but it's incremental. This is the most stacked category in the world we started with something like 70 boards. Don't worry about where something is that wasn't on here.
Hey Avran, been watching a ton of your videos and I gotta say I’m stuck between 2 decks. I’m looking at the Merc and the MT. You recommended the MT Pro which I’ve heard is very stiff and much more aggressive and unforgiving than the merc and MT, why do you recommend the Pro over the regular version? I have a Bataleon ET+ and enjoy it, do you think the Merc would be a better ride or the MT for an all mountain board to just enjoy the slopes on?
@@AngrySnowboarder do you think the MT Pro is way more board than the regular MT? Is it something that you need to be on your game all the time for? I probably don’t have nearly as much experience as you do but I’ve been boarding about 20yrs at this point and consider myself a high end intermediate. Would you advise sticking to the MT?
Do you have any recommendations for light riders? I'm 172cm and 55kg high intermediate to advanced level. I'm looking for do it all all mountain freestyle boards.
@@AngrySnowboarder awesome thanks! Is there one in particular that is easier to get pop and power from for someone light? I struggle to get off the ground on some boards, especially heavy ones
I bought a Burton Custom Camber for CAD 510 during last winter's sale (I just rode it 4 times). You recommended the Spring Break Resort Twin, but it was more than CAD 250 difference.. Being honest I love how Custom Camber is, the engage on carvings etc.. I know it's not the best but pretty good for my daily (I've only one snowboard for powder, all mtn, carving, tree's ) I don't like park.
@@AngrySnowboarderbeing fair Avran I do prefer your advice and if I had only one choice I would be more confident with your opinion however James does state “from a average riders perspective” and they have become quite professional on their reviews and offers IMO a good balance of opinions. Average on who's scale? The average person that goes snowboarding goes 4.5 days a season. Are you telling me he rides that little to be average and then does his reviews? Maybe if he did better there wouldn't be an issue? Same with everyone else. Ever think that? Whole lot of posers out there.
@@AngrySnowboarder true I suppose it’s pretty average alright if you ride 50+ a year and you’re still average. You generally IMO don’t want to ride looking like you’re going to take a crap 🤣😂🤙
@@AngrySnowboarder You're a legend for responding. Total legend. It's the sidecut that's got me wondering. Want the YES just unsure how it'll feel at speed.
Here's the thing the UMT really doesn't exist anymore it's now the pro. So if you're talking the old UMT it was a little more dense. But if you're talking about the new Pro version. It's got koroyd in the tips. Great dampening agent that doesn't kill the liveliness. The boards overall stiffer than the Greats. This makes it more versatile as an all mountain board probably in that 70/30 split where as the Greats is more of a 40/60 all mountain to park. Thus it favors the freestyle more.

I tore thru my ride anthems after mad years of ripping, im considering something with laces any suggestions?
The best boot is the one that fits your foot and fits your needs.
Yes Greats is not on the list is it not good enough or the options you mentioned are just better?
Well it is called Top 5's for a reason.
Anything on the gnu riders choice?
Hasn’t changed since the last time we reviewed it.
Is there a lot of overlap between the 2024 assassin pro and the 2025 resort twin?
Yes
Any thoughts on the new jones tweaker pro? is it shit or is it on a similar level to the sb resort twin?
It's WAY stiffer.
Thoughts on the Nitro Team? Just picked one up
Solid board.
Is the Assassin Pro more demanding/Stiffer than the Resort Twin?
They’re about the same.
Was set on the Bataleon Goliath, but now with the Beyond Medals suggestion, I'm not sure what to think as they're pretty similar... Anyone have experience with either of these boards?
Goliath is a little stiffer and also has a different feel from its 3BT.
Yes Typo over The Basic Uninc for all mtn freestyle? Are they pretty similar?
Camrocker vs Full Camber, that's the big decision you have to make.
Because it’s fully revamped. They’re both solid choices.
It's an incremental jump. Your call on where you want to be, if you're worried about it then stick with the MT.
With these boards, you should the opposite of Angry when snowboarding.
Does the Mercury and Mega Merc have anything new for 2025 or same as 2024? I prefer the 2024 mega merc graphic a lot more.
There was a tweak on either the core profiling or the base finish, can't remember off hand. Save the money, buy last years.
any difference between last years sb resort twin and this one?
Graphic.
Top 5 park boards incoming ?
budddy you forgot about the PARTY MOD by Rome or the Crewzer bro
Nope.
you think your shadowban got noticeably softer? I’m definitely a little more built but after a good season on it would say it feels just a touch soft.
Mine also has probably 150 to 175 days on it.
You’re killing me and I will be dead soon.
Skill issue.
Give me one of each, please!
Do you have any recommendations for light riders? I'm 172cm and 55kg high intermediate to advanced level. I'm looking for do it all all mountain freestyle boards.
There’s 8 boards on this list with varying size offerings, start looking.
@@AngrySnowboarder awesome thanks! Is there one in particular that is easier to get pop and power from for someone light? I struggle to get off the ground on some boards, especially heavy ones
That's a skill issue.
@@AngrySnowboarder ok cool, I'll have to work on my technique this year then!
More anger
Which one is the stiffest on the list? Including the honorable mentions.
There all about the same.
Angry it’s almost September does that mean mass release of videos?
I wouldn't say it's mass release, but there's a daily rollout with up to 3 videos a day as we get into the full swing of things.
Kooks only no locals
It looks like your forgot to include #1 in the actual video!
Are numbers hard for you to read?
@@AngrySnowboarder Yes, extremely. I see what you did now, honorable mentions are in-between #2 and #1
Watch the whole video, then comment.
@@AngrySnowboarderwhy so serious?
Why so dense?
Why do you hate Lib Tech so much?
Terrain Wrecker continues to be one of the best boards I’ve ever ridden.
So because we don't validate a mid tier board designed for people that think they're better than they are, we hate that brand?
pls review public statement
Video request - Top 5 riding styles adopted by James Biesty when testing boards
Why? What does that do but give him some form of credibility.
@@AngrySnowboarderbeing fair Avran I do prefer your advice and if I had only one choice I would be more confident with your opinion however James does state “from a average riders perspective” and they have become quite professional on their reviews and offers IMO a good balance of opinions. Thank you for you’re advice it has certainly been helpful 🤙
@AngrySnowboarder bro is there anyone you don't beef with? 😂
You generally IMO don’t want to ride looking like you’re going to take a crap 🤣😂🤙
why not ride algorythm??
Because it's stiffer than most people need.
Angry. YES Greats or Jones Ultra Mtn Twin? Daily driver. Equal amounts all mountain and park. Advanced rider.
How stiff you want to go?
GNU Rider's Choice with C3 Camber profile.
What is not on this list for $400 Alex.
@@AngrySnowboarderbut should be Vanna
J O N E S Snowboards
Still working on your spelling I see.
No validation for me. Dis is Number 1 bullshit.
Maybe next time.
