Just wanted to drop in, I actually held the Megapark world record for a few days back when the record first got around 65-70k. We were all beating each others records almost daily and had that weird list we updated so it got hard to keep track of it all lol
Miss these days! Wonder what all my boys in the Rise and UNC group chats are doing nowadays. Underclass was such a fun time during skate 3. Seeing the archive channel with a few of my old videos brings back so many good memories!

I don’t know why, but the “___ has joined your Xbox live party” messages on the old clips took me way back and made me so happy. I miss those days and while the video was quite good I think a lot of us who grew up pulling all nighters with our friends on XBL party chat got a nice walk down memory lane with those old clips. So thanks for stroking my monkey brain neuron skate circuit and reminding me of a simpler time too for that sweet sweet nostalgia drip 😎

I like more realistic skating in Skate, but comp and tricklining is genuinely impressive, i literally cannot move my thumb that quick

Truly an amazing video. I remember playing this map a lot in 2011-2012 and feeling happy when I hit 50k. Obviously I could never compete with the absolute gamers mentioned in the video, but this brought me so much nostalgia. Also R.I.P Aehzo. This map reminds me of him ❤

As a person who plays this game for a genuine more casual skate experience (skating stairs, benches,etc.) because if I pick up a skateboard in real life I will hurt myself very bad I really don’t mind the other players doing crazy tricks like how you mentioned in this video even though I’m a casual player that likes to skate realistically I sometimes even go to mega park just to have some fun doing 500 miracle whips and 300 front flips (sorry for the long comment)

I remember Geovonni24. Never knew he was doing comp to that degree at the time. His skill was very impressive but as a kid, I was even more impressed by how quick witted some of the roasts he could come up with were.
We would all get into a PS3 party and would roast each other but his roasts were on another level lol. Good times :).
Now, I don't know if this counts as megapark since you can practically do it anywhere, but I remember way back in 2015/2016, people were doing flat trick combos in the parking lot and following them up with the superman glitch jumps, to combo even more. I was never that great but I remember seeing absolutely busted scores from it.

i was playing online in the first year of skate 2 and was stoked by the comp manual landing i was just not good nuff as a 11 year old lol
A 38500 would be the mean/average. A standard deviation is a range localized around the average. Like you would say the mean score is 38500 with a standard deviation of +/-2000 which means that the majority of runs end up somewhere in the range of 36500 to 40500.
as someone who was a kid aimlessly grinding this game and glitching the fuck out of it its kinda sick to see all the like tricklining and combo tech shit actually justified rather than like being shunned as no life stupid scrub shit. dont know why its such a popular opinion in any gaming genre to complain about and shit on pushing a game to its limits. for fun. which is what games are 4. i used to play skate 3 back when i was a kid on ps3 im now 18 but back then i was probably 5 or 6 yrs old when i used to play i used to have scroes up to 70,000 back then i didnt even know what it meant i didnt even think it was a big deal watching this video now made me realize how good i was. tomorrow i will be going to gamestop to buy a ps3 again and skate 3

it wouldn’t b hard to make skate an e-sport if there were judges- since trick lining looks so nerdy, it’d score low despite how technically difficult it is n that opens the door for casuals/players with a cool style to compete too. i hope that becomes a thing when skate 4 drops. judges could score based off creativity, realism *and* technical difficulty. the way i play is kind of a combination of all that.. i love this game enough to spend hours learning the tech but it was never worth it bc of how corny it looks lol. i think that’s the difference between irl skaters and speedrunners/trick liners. i still respect the guys at Rise though y’all are nuts- i just don’t want that playstyle to prevail as the main form for comp

If this ruined the game they wouldn't have included a score to begin with. Games have had high scores since the dawn of time and finding the most effective way of getting that high score is fundamental to video games.
I never got into comp, i just did footplant SKATE, all my friends would dabble in comp but i just never did it

Skate 2 had way more exploits that people used competitively and there were more capture card options back then. There was the Dazzle 480p/720p, USB capture cards, etc.,.

I am SO glad I play Skate 2 and 3 on easy AND I'm super glad that I am not totally obsessed with any of this! Im happy that I am not the type of gamer who is addicted to trying to make the biggest score or the fastest speed run or trying to be part of a team. I am so happy just playing the game the way it is MEANT TO BE PLAYED: by just having FUN! I am glad that I play games for the fun of it, something most player's don't do now, because CLEARLY everything HAS TO BE competitive! I am proud to be a casual, non competitive gamer who is more than happy playing on the easiest difficulty.

I’ve been playing daily for almost two years but I made it a point not to watch anything and just enjoy the game, until “First Every 100k at Mega Park in Skate 3” hit my feed. Now the flood gates are open and I just wanna hit that idc how long it takes. I’ll be there every day, probably long after skate 4 but one day.
