    I was hoping that you could give my continental 4PK582 multi V belt your blessing. I figure that your blessing is at least as good as BMW's. Thanks for the wonderful content, it's amazingly helpful and entertaining as well.

    Goeie uitleg en het is inderdaad heel erg simpel om het zelf te doen. Dankzij deze heldere uitleg. Het meeste werk zit 'm nog in (de)monteren van de deksel -;)

    Top job! In my country it’s the Alternator belt I do believe. So with this there is no timing to worry about eh?

    • @TheOldMechanic
      @TheOldMechanic  4 месяца назад

      Good question, on the bmw its totaly outside of timing problems, just a belt driving the alternator. 😉👊🏻👍🏻

    Salut Old Mechanic.
    Comme toi, je n'avais pas l'outil spécial BMW pour remettre la courroie. Et ce fût un massacre...
    En effet, la courroie "4PK 582 Continental" commandée sur internet (9€) était très très tendue et elle s'est déchiquetée après plusieurs tentatives infructueuses. J'ai dû racheter la même chez BMW (34€) et la faire installer par mon mécanicien qui avait l'outil adéquate. Mauvaise expérience pour moi car lorsque je lis les autres commentaires, cela n'a pas posé de problème... Je dois être un piètre mécanicien... 🤣🤣🤣 😉

    Yet again you make the job simple no fiddling about! well done. just out of curiosity did you remove the spark plugs when doing this, or did you manage with then still in the bike ?

    • @TheOldMechanic
      @TheOldMechanic  2 года назад +1

      The sparkplugs are out, that makes the job more easy. Only 1 out on each side is enough 😉

    Dont you must adjust the belt/altenator after replace the belt? On my 1100rt you can adjust the altenator. Is that not possible for the 1200?? Just put it on and rotate and then finish? Groetjes uit Rockanje

    Did your bike come with the foam behind the plastic cover? It’s terrible open cell foam that holds water and corrodes your gear case.
