    Only just found your page on RUclips, where have you been all my life, I prefer to work on my own bike, and all the thing's I was wondering about you have answered all my questions, especially with valve adjustments, and how to set up my carburettors, next thing, I'm buying is a gs -911. And i don't think I'm gonna go into a dealership again,, apart from buying parts 😂
    And as I sign of appreciation, sir , I'm gonna post something on my bm groups 😊

      Thanks you !! Perhaps you should look at the MotoScan app Its a far better and much cheeper alternative for the GS911. The MotoScan app is a one time payment and when you choose for the 'Ultimate' version (49.99 euro's) you can service an unlimited amount of Beemers !. There is no monthly fee and all the updates are free.

    Old Friend, here I use a more practical way to keep the brake fluids of my R1200 GS 2012 always in good condition, I know it's not an orthodox practice, but it's been working for decades. I simply change every six months the entire contents of the front and rear brake fluid inside the reservoir by syringing the fluid out and replacing it with fresh fluid. So the old fluid inside the caliper and the pipes is mixing with the new fluid that I put in the reservoir and I always have a relatively new quality of fluid in the system. It's easy, fast and I don't need to be intervening with tools on the system. I know that I will never have 100% new fluids in the system, but I will never have less than 70% new fluids either. What do you think about it?

    Thanks for showing Very understandable and easy to follow. Did it know myself. Due to this vlog. But I don't understand why you are draining some brake fluid. Is that really necessary?

    Dont’t forget to pump up your brakes and to top up the reservoir before you start riding again or you might be in for a surpise. Also brake fluid can easily be taken out of the reservoir using a syringe (watch the paint). No risk of introducing air into the system.

    Excellent. I'm hopeless with spanners but a mechanic says I need new brake calipers (Brembo) after only 24K miles? Do you think they could just need renovating/cleaning?

    • @TheOldMechanic
      @TheOldMechanic  2 года назад +1

      Hi, ofcourse you can put new seals in them, as I can't believe that the pistons are worn. But then again thats just my opinion while not able to see what is wrong with your calipers.

    Kitchen detergent will disolve any grease on the moving pistons. Not good for moving parts to be dry

    Hi Old Mechanic,
    Je regarde avec beaucoup d’intérêt toutes tes vidéos, surtout celles concernant la R1200GS de 2010 parce que j'ai exactement la même. Quel est ce fabuleux outil pour écarter les pistons ?
    J'en profite pour poser une question... Je n'ai pas trouvé de vidéo concernant le changement du liquide d'embrayage... Est-ce compliqué ? Ou cela peut-être fait sans se rendre chez un garagiste... Merci pour ton très bon et très passionnant travail.
