Good video, short and sharp and to the point. I picked up the Akra system for the equivalent of £1300 and am having it put on in 2 weeks. I actually find the standard exhaust is quite deep, and amazing when you throttle it, but it’s hard to imagine just how much better this system will be with those new cans underneath.
That’s a good price 👍 it sounds so good with this system and you also have the benefit of the nearly 10% extra torque in mid range, you win all around ! Enjoy :)
Thank you for making this. I'll definitely get one with the Akrapovic exhaust. I test-rode one with that exhaust a couple of weeks ago. It kept randomly backfiring when I would slow to a stop. I loved it!
No problem , it does sound great on the bike and looks really good, a definite improvement on the standard one, , the V2 is such a good bike , I will do some more V2 videos...anything to keep riding them :)
Ok, so I got mine installed yesterday. Just wow. Amazing sound, very very deep and rumbly and aggressive on the gas. A must have option (shame they dont come from factory like this).
Oddo Wolf yes mate it’s definitely a lot better sound, perfect...yeah would be better if the come like that from standard but I think they are a just a little to noisy to sell them like that 😂 enjoy !
Hi, just caught up with some of your videos - love the no-nonsense approach! Question, though - how do you deal with insurance on a bike with an exhaust (silencers or full system) that is not road legal - is it possible to declare it and get insurance?
Thanks, glad you enjoy them , tbh some people tell the insurers that they have accessories and exhaust some don’t , I’m guessing they wouldn’t like ‘race’ exhaust and also if you tell them it may be dearer.. if you don’t and there a problem along the line then the insurer may say you should of said about it?? Difficult to say what to do, best bet is to phone a different insurance company and ask for a quote on a bike that may have the extra parts and see what they say
Mate wait until you hear it in person and see it , it’s awesome , I’m sure you won’t be disappointed... well apart from seeing your bank balance go down 😂 but then yr start it and forget about it again 😊
I don’t know for the v2 what sounds better the termignoni or akrapoviç I have never heard anything but the stock sound on it. The muffler itself look identical, I wonder if the termi has the ecu map as well included
I will find out for you about the map keep for the bike when I go to the shop and also if it has to be done by a Ducati dealer or you can do it yourself, I know now some exhaust map keys can only be done on the computer at the shop
Gaz Van Dyk yes mate it’s definitely better, and yeah if yr thinking of buying any accessories at some point when you are buying your Ducati new ,if you can afford it it’s always better to buy them at the same time to get some savings somewhere
Thanks, yeah it does sound good in person, it is definitely louder then the standard exhaust and an improvement in the sound of it, don’t know what the actual decibels level is , I have heard louder pipes on other bikes but not heard louder on a V2 yet
When you get the silencers you only get the small v pipe as ‘extra’ , usually the header pipes come from the engine , join and go into the catalytic converter and then come out the single silencer on the standard bike, when you put the Akrapovic silencers on the standard catalytic converter is removed and as there is two separate silencers with the Akrapovic exhausts you need to fit the small v part to split the pipe again, so there is not much extra piping and by removing the catalytic converter it makes the bikes sound louder then standard
Talentfrei this is the race cans with the small pipe that replaces the cat and and allows for the 2 cans to go either side, I am currently doing a video on in that has the full race system
최원준 it removes the original cat and can and you get the small splitter piece of pipe and the two end cans, they don’t change the header pipes, there’s no point in changing them , they probably do titanium headers but the standard ones are good so no one seems to change them, it comes with mapping and an air filter, they probably do titanium headers but with the extra cost of the pipe and fitting not many people change it
www.hysidemotorcycles.co.uk is the shop where I do the videos so if you go there and send them an email they can help you , obviously depending on where you are as not all but some exhausts have to be mapped by the dealer you buy it from
Narendra , this is the exhaust cans and the small pipe that removes the catalytic converter on this video, if you checkout my other video too on the full Akrapovic system you can see the difference mate
ruclips.net/video/FQBKFmvtdew/видео.html This one mate is the full system, both sound the same tbh ... just the full system is more money and more work to fit it :)
Ok on the Ducati system they only do Termignoni for the 1199, but they are obsolete on there though but if you went to Termignoni direct the silencers are £ 2760 on their website, if you go to Akrapovic website they only do the full system which is £3891 , I don’t know how they do the mapping though if you bought it from them direct if they just send you the map key etc
Petrolheadish probably not mate , depends what track I guess, some bikes are struggling with standard exhaust’s tbh, just try and keep yr revs down when they test it 😂 you might be able to do the Ducati only trackdays at Donington and Silverstone??
Awesome Err you get an small piece of pipe that replaces the large cat and can and it splits the pipe in to two for the two end cans to go on to, they probably do a titanium header for the V2 , I will try and find out :)
@@ProjectMoto my opinion is that on most of the modern Ducatis the actual factory headers and piping is amazingly good, that the price to performance gain is not quite there to make it worthwhile. The system on the V2 from factory is decent, removing the old muffler/cat is enough to let the engine breathe, the % improvement is also because the factory headers actually have decent enough flow to allow it. Thoughts?
Yes mate , they hardly ever change the headers on the Ducati , there is no point as the are good, on an un-faired bike maybe I would just to make the pipe look the same if it is titanium but most of the time you can not see them so there is no point , they are good headers so no need to change them and also the extra cost for the pipe and the labour there is no point, for me anyway
@@ProjectMoto Great! So there is really no need for a full system. The only people I see doing a full system is people with money to burn and wanting to squeeze out every drop of power this thing has. But since most of us arent racers then this is all we really need. My wallet thanks you.
This idols the cans and small pipe that splits the pipe work to remove the original cat and can, found a lot of people have done just this rather then change the header pipes too due to the extra cost in the extra pipe work and fitting costs etc
Mark F it removes the original cat and can and you get the small splitter piece of pipe and the two end cans, they don’t change the header pipes, there’s no point in changing them , they probably do titanium headers but the standard ones are good so no one seems to change them
ProjectMoto thank you. Does it require any remapping? What about the valve in the original end can? Would I be able to fit this at home or did the price include dealer fitting? I note that the complete system isn’t much more than the end cans, at least on the Ducati website. I love my V2, but a slightly deeper sound would be nice.
I will check for you but I’m pretty sure this came with the mapping key, it does remove the valve so it would need to be plugged in to tell the bike that it dose the need the valve and that it’s disconnected etc , I love the v2 and for me it just needed that exhaust note that these cans give it
Ok yes it does come with mapping, and a different air filter, that price did not include the labour, I think if you bought a new bike and add it as an extra they just fit it but if you have it fitted later like yourself who already has the bike it’s usually around 2.5 - 3 hrs labour
The benefits are undoubted! Ducati’s are art and this can doesn’t compliment in my opinion .. love the channel. thanks for posting the vids tho so I can slate your purchase 🤨😂
Only if you get caught 😂 tbh most bikes that have after market cans are not road legal, it’s why people put them on, not because they are not road legal but because they sound better and a bit more performance, and to me if your buying a bike like this for the road what you do on it is not always legal (speeding, wheelies etc) , but it’s not a problem for me as it’s not my bike 😂
Just the weight saving in the wallet is enough 😂😂 , Not massive difference but it does notice when you ride it, and it definitely gives the bike the sound it deserves
Someone stole your video, man! The RUclips channel is currently named "Lovely Idoit". Yes. The word "idiot" is spelled incorrectly. The title of their video is "Ducati Panigale V2 Akrapovic Exhaust System" and they uploaded it on December 12th.
Do one thing put the camera in the exhaust then record 😕 you should probably learn how to shoot an exhaust video camera should be at the distance from where we look at the bike not inside the exhaust
Thanks ,will do next time as that’s exactly what I’m doing , learning ,everyone has to start somewhere 😆 , Since starting this a few months ago I had never owned a camera, edited a video, been in a video, well not one for RUclips anyway, no doubt it’s probably to do with the mic I got too as again have no idea about them, but I’m having fun making them and glad that some people are enjoying or watching them , but thanks as I always want advice and help on how to do the videos and make them better 😊

After watching this video I couldn't resist it any longer... just pulled the trigger on the full system for my V2. That price tag though 😬😭

Good chatting to you today mate. I took my 797 in for a service 😊
Richard Collins yeah mate was nice to meet you and chat about the bikes :)
I saw a photo online on bikesrepublic and looks like you had an aftermarket fender kit on the V2. Do you know which brand it was?
Oh ok , don’t know what one it has on it , most people have the Ducati Performance Carbon ones put on them
@@ProjectMoto you’re the man……I looked all over. That’s the one thanks
so, the reason for all the excess piping is just to keep the noise down? just curious
