    When you look at power curves laid over each other--the "regular" Pikes Peak dominates this all the way to 10,000 rpms. I love to see some roll-on races between the RS and Pikes Peak. Would the added revs from lower gearing be irritating as it would turn maybe 1000 extra revs at same travel speeds?

    • @ProjectMoto
      @ProjectMoto  7 месяцев назад +1

      As you know What’s on paper does not always relate to what actually happens when you twist the throttle , the RS feels faster, has that fast acceleration feeling , it’s smoother,especially on the quick shifter , it’s not going to be for everyone I’m sure and at £5k more then the Pikes Peak some won’t see the value or the point of it, remember the one I rode had the full system so it is 192bhp or something so yeah it should feel faster

      @@tomtraynor5384 swap sprockets on the pikes peak to have shorter gearing like the RS since that is the only reason why anyone says the RS is quicker with the engine that makes less torque everywhere and less power until the non desmo runs out of revs, but then fuel economy and range will be even worse 🙃 and fit rosso IV corsa tires, or go for supercorsas. I was kind of pissed off because RS got announced within half a year of me getting a pikes peak after my dealer was telling me there wouldn't be a desmo multi since I wanted to wait for it.

    Here is you a bad thing (or a couple) to say about it or pikes peak:
    It is not engaging or visceral due to weight, size, ergonomics. Comfortable, fast for what it is, but not really fun.
    It is loud and buffety as hell
    There is no front end feel due to the ergonomics and electronic suspension that doesn't give any precise adjustment settings (just preload and softer/harder for front and rear)
    The handling can be improved by sticking more weight on the nose via adjusting the clamp vs forks, cranking up the preload, and fitting a taller profile rear tire since there is not enough weight on the front to begin with (maybe that can help the front end feel too)
    At least the quick shifter in the rs is probably better than the pikes peak tractor shifter and there is engine braking adjustmemt, it revs more, and sounds more exciting.
    Ducati should make an actual traditional sports tourer that doesn't have the size, weight, noisiness, or ergonomics of adv nonsense.

      @@SP-xd8gs @SP-xd8gs not engaging or visceral at all compared to a tuono or a streetfighter or something else with less weight, less size, sportier ergonomics, and more sensation of speed. It's all relative. Sure, it's still much more characterful and exciting than an XR and many other things. Sure, it can make decent progress up to a certain point where the weight and size with awful ergos and zero front end feel make the experience fall apart. Sure, it's ok if you're into wheelies and skids.
      It's too big and heavy for tighter stuff, there's too much buffeting at higher speeds and the ergonomics aren't suited to them.
      It's just too far to the comfort side and too far from the sport side to be fun for me. Great when I have long commutes or highway, never really have much of a wish to go carve some canyon roads with it since it's rather underwhelming whenever I give it a shot.

    This is a 3 in 1 bike. Adventure, sport tourer and a sport bike. If you have this bike. You'll only need 1 other bike. Off road bike like a ktm 500 ex or 890 adv R

      Yes exactly mate , just does everything so good, it’s a lot of money but if you already have 2 or 3 different bikes to do what this does it’s not that much really

    The Multistradas have gotten fat around the mid-section. The RS is only the best until a V4 SuperSport comes around.
