This video is great because your thought process is super-detailed, but manages to stay straight forward for the rest of us. Nice job on the 1800!
There are 2 drain plugs. Also more oil drains out if the bike is canted over on its side stand.
Terry I was about to tell him the same thing about the extra plug in the front
absolutely correct
Yes I always drained mine on the side stand as I read it somewhere 😄 like in the manual.
I can see I'm too late to comment on the 2nd drain plug hahaha. Others have already pointed it out 😂
Looks like you got it good to go. By the looks of it you should check all the nuts and bolts. with that signal light loose like that. Be safe
just fyi, the vtx 1800 has 2 oil drain plugs. both should be removed to fully drain the bike. vid by partzilla here on yt that shows how. great vid tho man, good all purpose maintenance for any used bike
Awesome job, great heat shield 🛡 I like the heat and would probably just move my leg if it gets too hot, it's an excellent looking bike besides the rag pipes can go, make it look terrible, like something's temporary or just unwanted 😀.
That's cool hand made heat shield ,looks real nice also.
did you ever do the follow up review? interested in this ..thxs
Hey man would I need to get a dealership license to sell dirt bikes? Texas allows four vehicles a year
Awesome video thanks.
Love the Hitachi grinders.
Awesome heat shield.
thank you max
But seriously.. The heat shield.. It is legit, now I am gonna have to make one.
Great sounding video, I could not watch it because i got dizzy from all the extra movement. I see cabinet doors in the background are you repainting or making new? john
just getting painted.
What kind of fairing is on that bike?
@9:36 O I will having burnt a hole in my rain gear and can no longer wear shorts on my VTX 1800.....nice work
How long have you had the harbor freight table? Has it failed on you at anytime?
still alive. Still have it.
I hope when you bleed that front brake system you also did the rear. it has a linked system on it and you cannot bleed just the front brakes.
ya it never made the video.
Wherz the full review?
never happened i guess
You might want to cut one of those K&N filters open bro worst filter on the market. Works by far makes a superior oil filter
I use K&N on bikes cause i like the nut on the end, Wix (what i think you meant) makes great filters as well.
I've got the 02 C model. Red tank and fenders and everything else is pretty much chrome, except for my gloss black Memphis Shades Batwing fairing that I put on myself and custom made a few Vinyl designs for. She's also a pretty mean lookin bike now too 😂.
About the oil filter, whenever I do a change on my VTX I just get the regular Bikemaster brand filter for like $20 or less. It doesn't have the hex-nut fitting on the end but the filter's in an easy enough spot to reach where I can just fit a small pipe wrench on it and break it loose with 1/4 turn
What faring is that?
Not sure. Came with the bike.
Two things...I wish you had shown how to bleed the brakes. And second, you sit in traffic and the bike gets hot? Doesn't it have a bag ass radiator up front? Isn't that supposed to fix any overheating problem?
The radiator only works when there is air moving through it. In traffic there is not much. As far as bleeding brakes, I have shown it in a lot of other vids. Basically you pump up the brake, hold it, and open the caliper release. Close caliper release and repeat the process.
ACTUALLY THE RADIATOR HAS A FAN THAT COMES WHEN THE COOLANT REACHES A CERTAIN TEMP.
Mine never over heats it's an 02 1800S
@@motomark9736 No one said over heat, just heat from exhaust on leg. I like the shield, they also sell leather shields.
The radiator doesn't cool the exhaust system 😄
I own that bike now.
Me too. An F model. It's like a rocket powered wheel barrow and I love it.
Bro first off K&N makes the worst oil filter on the market. Second Honda motors have to have GN4 or HP4 oil or you’re going to fuck up the clutch pack. Run whatever you want in your own bike don’t be suggesting people put that shit in their motorcycle
