Thanks for the video. I watched couple of guys taking about this welder, and I am buying it. For the money - and as you said if you know what you're doing, great machine. I work in a welding shop. By just sound of it and look of those welds I can say this is very good welding machine.
Great informative vid... I am about to order the UK version(no burnback knob). They advertise the tig as being `lift tig` but other so called `lift tig` machines i have see seem to be scratch and not lift.. Have you tested this at all and if so which would you say it it?
The technique is the same-ish. I have not tried it as I have a separate machine for TIG. I have used the stick welding mode and it works fine. If you are gonna do a lot of dedicated TIG I would get a proper machine that is AC equiped.
Looks fairly good. Does it have the wire feed rollers made in metal or plastic? What thickness wire can it use? Just had a thought. You can use those dark glasses when riding your bike. Should look pretty cool. LOL
@@Makswerks1 Hey Mak, have you tried welding very thin metal, say, around 1mm with this machine? I think it is rated at 50-220 amps. At 50 amps, how thin can you weld without blowing holes?
@@redgum1340 70A indicated, your guess is as good as mine. Joint was overlapped, copper spatula style sink on the back. Lots of little tacks. Maybe "technique" is a little generous for that. :)
I had the mig-270 and it really was only 220 amps on the label in the back, I questioned the vendor and I was right and they accepted the return. The machine worked good but i didn't like they they said it was 270 amps when it was only 220. Is yours really 250 amps, I asked and they said that one was only 180 amps. Please take a picture of the label on that back and post here please.
Its a fair callout. Mine says 200A on the sticker. The reality is this is a hobbyist machine and the practical difference there for MiG I feel is negligible. If you consistently need north of 250 or 270A you will probably be better served with a more commercial machine.
@@Makswerks1 It's just the fact of false advertising the amount of amps. I'm curious was the old welder you had really 250 amps does it have a label on the back? I bought a HBM2280 and it is a true 200amp on the label and I saw other that tested it and said it went up to approximately 220amps. I did like the vevor mig-270 also.
@@joesledrider8530 I mean you are buying direct from Chinese shops. Nothing that comes out of these is accurate. The old one has long since gone in the dumpster so I couldnt tell you for sure, however I have welded 5/8 plate with it and no issues. So in my mind this welder is great for the price cause it puts down metal in a controlled and efficient way and lets me build cool stuff in the garage.

Its a negative earth for gas and positive for flux cored
