What's the bet the customer will be four wheelin' for the next 5 years on those welds... 🤣
It's only temporarily until it's not.
It is very good if he also takes Matts suggestion of adding extra
Every temporary repair is a permanent repair.
Nothing more permanent than a temporary fix.
They should have talked it down more - the clint will just throw a coat of paint on it and keep wheeling!
I really appreciate these guys. They are very professional, no cussing, or trying to act tough. They actually know how to have an actual conversation, which is very rare these days.
You said it well! One reason I have kept coming back.
They are not!
RUDY!!! Fun seeing Matt, Rudy, & Kaulin working together again.
Best quote of the day: "Your Dad must still buy your tires."
It's always cool to see them together ✓
Good to see Rudy join the beards and skins! LOL
and Peanut, cant forget Peanut.. lol
@@ntuidmeI see those three like this; Kaulin is the beginning, Rudy is the in between, and Matt is the final product. 🤷♂️
For those who don't actually know -- Howdy Doody was a popular children's television show that ran from 1947 to 1962. One of its most iconic elements was the Peanut Gallery.
What was the Peanut Gallery?
The Peanut Gallery was a group of live children who were part of the show's audience. They sat in a special section of the studio and interacted with the hosts and characters. The term "Peanut Gallery" was borrowed from vaudeville, where it referred to the cheapest seats in the theater, often occupied by rowdy audience .
I was in the Howdy Doody show as part of the Peanut Gallery audience in Toledo Ohio. Must have been 1960-ish I was ten years young❗️😃 lived in a small farm village Arcadia Ohio😄 In S. Cal now
Thanks for the context man, I can now see why it's funny. Great suff. 😁
Peanut Gallery predates howdy doody - refers to the cheap seats, where the lowest "class/culture" would be and would heckle vaudeville performers by throwing some of the peanuts they were snacking on. I've also heard it explained in a racial way as segregated theaters would only allow blacks be in the balcony at the back of the hall.
"Your dad must still buy your tires" love it 😂
lol
😂😂😂😂
The mark of adulthood in the Wetzel house.
@@DiscoFang is that your last name or theirs lmao?
It was awesome to see Rudy on a job with you all again!! Thank you for sharing MORR team💯💪🏼😀
Matt, you have every reason to be extremely proud of your sons. They are all friendly and skillful. Great family.
Matt and his wife did a great job as parents
AND HES PAYS THEM MINIMUM WAGE
The difference is, the suitcase welder is flux core. It's run electrode negative which puts 2/3 of the heat into the job, unlike solid wire which is run electrode positive which puts 2/3 of the heat into melting the wire. Solid wire is great for sheet metal to medium gauge but requires more skill, and you push the weld pool. Flux core is great for heavier jobs and field use and especially on dirty jobs (like paint and grease) and you drag, so also great for welding downwards.
He ain't wrong
Peanut chased squirrels, arent squirrels supposed to chase peanuts? Hmmm 🤔
Hahaha!
What a parado(g)x
😂😂😂
😂🤣😂
Not in this day & age . A time where everything is flipped . Bad is good & good is evil . We all know better
Jake and Colby are so good for the channel. Jake understands he has a bunch to learn and Colby is continuing to grow his knowledge. Pretty awesome.
The most positive being on your team is Peanut. She is always happy and up for the job. Love her.
I don't know, Jake might give her a run for her money. I think he's part golden retriever, lol.
@@Capydachi spot on assessment.
Dogs are the best & the smartest people on the planet ! Atleast my dogs are . People are der der
My boy jake , I think he is .
When a dog is so fond and dedicated to someone like Matt, it speaks volumes about the human.
It's really nice to see Rudy again! He doesn't know me, but his presence in the earlier years, videos, was always appreciated. And, congratulations Matt, on your continued professionalism!
Wasn’t expecting Rudy again so soon…it’s good to see him. I’ve missed seeing him in his jeep coming out to assist.
The more parts he needs from dad, the more he's going to be drafted for recovery duty, lol...
Do you follow Rudy's page, Rudy's Offroad Adventures, it's awesome.

@@Backroad_Junkie Matt's Rudy's dad?
@@musicman8942 Yep. Always has been! 😁
Always love seeing Rudy on this channel. That's one proud dad right there.
9:29 - okay okay, hmmm.. okay 😂😂😂 watching the older brother and dad inspections is great lol
You know it's a good weld when it passes the dad AND big brother tests 🤣
The gearing and power on those winches blows me away. Combined with the thinnest of the synthetic rope it looks like straight up magic.
Jake's Nascar entrance was flawless.
The difference between a temporary weld and a permanent weld is a can of spray paint away 😊.
The ending was the best!!!! 😂 Rudy “Your Dad must still buy your tires” haha got me a hood laugh
I know I would
😂😂😂
For those wondering Matt straps and Backstraps are very different. One is very helpful to get you out. The other is the reward after you get out and is very tasty when grilled.
Kaulin and Rudy are becoming a force in the community! It's great to see the big bros hanging out (crazy stuff over on Rudy's channel, too)
lol rudy made this channel and got it up and running to where it is today
yes Rudy's fabrication is on a new level these days... on X off road build
What is the name of Rudys Channel please@@ropeyzkittlez9703
"Your Dad must still buy your tyres"...yep, says it all😅.
Nice to see Rudy back with the family for a "cameo" appearance.
"Your dad must still buy your tires"... Brought back a funny moment for me.
When I first started driving, my dad said, son, I paid for the first set of tires, the rest are on you.
Edit...
It was a 1970 Camaro I started driving in 1977
🤣
Ain’t that the truth, man having this on in the background I instantly caught his words.
That's funny. Growing up, one of the old man's marine buddies was the general manager of Firestone's Salinas, CA plant. I used to use Parnelli Jones Firesones on my '69 SS396 Camaro. When I needed a set, the old man would call his friend, he'd head out onto the factory floor, grab a new set in the size I wanted, mark them as blemishes and send them to the Firestone store near where we lived marked as hold for me. When I showed up, everybody would come over and want to know how I knew Bob Jones. They'd also remark how there wasn't a blemish on those tires. I also got the employee discount, so the new set was less than half price. I still had to pay for them, but it was much less painful, plus I made a whole new batch of friends at the local Firestone store. Then the Japanese (Bridgestone) bought out Firestone and closed down the Salinas plant. That was a sad day...
When I started driving the cars wore out before the tires…..😮
@@danrussell3439 🤣
Peanut is living her best life.😃
Nice seeing Rudy along for a ride.
Good to see Rudy rolling with the family and having fun.
Great to see Rudy. You are so blessed to have such an awesome family, Matt. Congratulations!
That throw and catch at 21:00 were on point!
SERIOUSLY!! 😮 and beautifully filmed!
That little wielder in a box does a pretty good job it looks like. The back seat is Peanut's domain so it appropriate to be named the Peanut gallery.
Great to see Rudy with the you all! Just like old times!
Peanut is also senior moral support specialist
When your boys follow in your steps definitely means you can check off being an awesome pops on the list
Love seeing Matt and Rudy together. Rudy is a good kid. My favorite episode with him is when he bought Kaulin the chevy pickup.
Mine is when he backed his XJ up suicide road on that super sketchy recovery of that guy who services cell phone towers.
The shots up that dune at 17:00 are pretty epic. Really gives you a sense of the huge scale.
Knowing how to weld and knowing what to weld are 2 different things I see. That Lower Track Bar mount was not well attached to begin with. I agree with Matt's assessment.
I’ve heard some welders self profess “I’m a welder, not a fabricator”. Probably not the case here but an interesting take.
Those little triangle stiffeners he suggested are called gussets.
@@rastus666 Thank You. Jesus saves!
YOU ARE SO RIGHT YOU KNOW HOW TO SPELL ALSO😅
@@kenanderson2216 Jesus couldn’t save his own butt.
Khalin was impressed with the suitcase welder. Good job flipping the SXS and letting Jake get some sand time. Rudy did your dad tell you the same thing when you did a burnout?
hahaha.. that last comment was hilarious, 'your dad must still buy your tires!'. A+
"Doors busted, Nascar engaged" really caught me off gaurd. I almost spit my Mtn Dew all over 😂😅
The black wheels on the banana look amazing!
Love it when Rudy makes an appearance on the channel. Super cool!
Jake, that is called the "Dukes of Hazard" entry... Millennials... 🤣
Man, you can tell Peanut is just living her best life.
I have always heard it called a birds nest not a squizzel, but evidently it means the same thing, great video thanks for sharing.
Rudy's welding sounded and looked awesome...❤ Bet he learned from a real Jedi
That was Kaulin.
lol Rudy at the end
😅
Your dad must still buy your tires.
Lol
Great to see Jake get some seat time. He has a great attitude..
Loved seeing Rudy and Kaulin working together again.
Jake is the new Lizzie, just fun..
Peanut is living the best life
Is it wrong that every peanut comment gets a like & rudy doesn't ???
@@davestevens4263nope!
Nice seeing Rudy working with you!
I think a flight cap and goggles just like Snoopy in his sopwith Camel would look great on Peanut.
A squizzle is also what comes out of a Cheez Whiz can.
The lower half of a passenger door for a Rzr was 300 bucks a few years ago. I won't say how I know, but I know. MORR excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
It sure has been nice to see Rudy and Eric on the channel! Love the end scene… “Your dad must still buy your tires!”.. LMAO!😅
Love Mats off-road recovery. You guys are the best. Keep up the great work.
Awesome
To see Rudy hanging out with dad
And brother collin
Priceless
That Sand was so fine, it behaved like a fluid. I have never seen this before.
It's insidious stuff. It's not like quartz beach sand. Gets into everything (gets into your shoes, then goes right through your socks) and changes the color to pink/orange depending on the sand.
My floormats were pink for a week after leaving Utah, lol.
I was waiting for some sort of punchline there! “That sand was so fine…”
Great channel. Thanks. FYI, I am 74 years old and not being of your background I spent a good portion of my young adulthood frequenting local watering holes and I even held a couple of part time jobs as a bartender. Back then the long skewers that you used to stir mixed drinks and spear olives for said drinks were called " SWIZZLE STICKS ". 😮😂
It's good to see Baby Rojo Beard and Daddy Rojo Beard on a job together!
How about an episode filmed from Peanut's perspective? That pup rocks!
Colby, put a goPro on Peanut's collar, and see if the footage will make some good edits.
Got Rudy on the payroll and he is not doing nothing 😂 Rudy that's the way I like it 😂
If he's not doing nothing, means he is doing something.
Shout out to the always amazing Karnage trail welder!!
Just so you know, I also approve of his welding job, shucks better than factory.
8:30 apparently: The verb squizzle is an imitative or expressive formation that was first used in the 1850s. The earliest known example of squizzle in writing is from 1856 by "J. Phoenix". Also Squizzle is also the name of a watermelon pomegranate beer by Lupulin Brewing. The beer is described as a bright, fruity blend with a tartness balanced by sweet and juicy undertones.
Was nice seeing Rudy on the channel... I watch RAD, but seeing the 3 together does the heart good 👍
@22:00 NASCAR engaged! 😂😂😂 loved it!
Great recoveries. It's always good to see Rudy out on a recovery with MORR.
I really like that you work with your sons.
Nothing beats a nice looking set of wheels and tires!
If the back seat is the "Peanut Gallery" then the middle seat is Mixed Nuts. :)
Nice to see Rudy come back to make an appearance!😊
The Banana is looking terrific, and you got the boys with you. What's better than that?
Desert evenings look so peaceful
RUDY!!! So nice to see him back at the old nest! ❤
And that's why stick welding is better. If you're carrying 3/32" 7018 and 1/8" 6010 you don't need a flappy wheel. The 6010's aggressive burn will clean all the paint off and give a good root pass. And no need to change settings because they burn at the same amperage with the two different sizes.
That wasn't true MIG with a shielding gas, that was a Flux Core wire he was using. You can tell by the absence of a gas bottle and the lite brown/tannish color of the slag left behind. There are flux core wires that are pretty much the functional equivalent of 6010 or 6011. For burning through truly knarly garbage the stick is a bit better but some of the flux core wire is pretty good at it also. He certainly got the job done here. As for laying down metal it's not even close the wire feed is far superior. As these small portable suit case wire feed welders become less expensive, stick welding will probably go the way of the dodo.
@@stuglenn1112 then you don't really understand industrial welding that much do you? I've been a millwright for over 25 years and I came up in a steel mill. Wire feed is welding for dummies. A monkey can mig. And unless you're running 1/16th wire, you're not getting penetration. Did you ever set up a mig a hundred feet off the ground on the underside of a crane?
@@jpolish420them are some funny words magic man
@@jpolish420 Retired now but worked 33 years in power houses everything from nuclear to a wood burner. We use to say some trades required a big hat (brains) and some a big shirt (brawn) as for millwrights they had the biggest shirts of all. Sorry you don't like MIG, I guess having to adjust two knobs instead of just one is too much for you to grasp.
Great show guys, welder up, pull em out, flip em over, raw hyde. Wind n rain n weather, raw hayyyde Be well.
Super welding machine and great job finish by a talented crew
So good to see Rudi again. Matt should do whatever he can to get Rudi on as much as possible.
Squizzle It's like a squirrel that blew up and goes everywhere 😂 - SQUIRREL! 🐿️
That would be squireal to see that
Beautiful scenery. Very talented crew. That side by side looks EXPENSIVE and super fun to drive.

It's nice to see Rudy doing a cameo once in while
Loved seeing the two boys with you! Laughed at "The older brother inspection"!
I love Peaunut! She seems like such a sweet girl.

Matt, you did do something. You raised great sons to follow in your foot steps!
It's nice seeing an XJ and a WJ wheeling together in the same shot.
Jake driving the side-by-side to Jake from the future!?😲
Nice start to Friday
Good to see Rudy on the scene again. Jake and Colby are a great team.
Give the guy a break. He can weld. 😊
Matt loves his Premier Power Welder almost as much as he loves his claw hammers.
You know... if he heated that claw hammer and bent the claw straight it would make a pretty good chipping hammer. :)
You know how whiskey barrels are used again and again by another distiller or wine maker? Is there some sort of trade network for worn 4x4 tires? New for mud or whatever and then when they're well-worn they go to the sand trails.
Oak barrels should only be used once for aging whiskey. Then they are turned into chunks or pellet fuel for smokers.
I can't believe the build is so close to being complete. It has been amazing to see it all happen. Glad you all had a blast while away too. Thanks for all the awesome videos!
OG Rudy! I love it...feels like the ole days....more please.
Those were the best welds added to that axle! I think that upper brace is more tacked in and held up by paint. I'd recommend checking them over at home. Great kids Matt!
I remember the swizzle stick to stir highballs.
Thanks for the video and welding lessons. My dad made up a similar word “skirkle”! He used it for multiple reasons, but most when he “accidentally”squealed the tires on Mom’s Cutlass.✌️
Could Peanut have her own channel when she goes out with you guys if she had some sort of pov camera and let us see what she sees?
They put a camera on her before, it's almost nauseating to watch, extremely shakey and all over the place. You can't really watch video of a dog running around. Only when they are going real slow, or stopped.
Nice seeing you with the Rudy and Kaulin! Thank you for going along Rudy!!!!!!! Great recoveries, thank you for sharing
You should bolt some Milwaukee Packout mounts in the back of the rigs, then figure out what you want inside the Packouts.. that way you can just move the boxes from rig to rig, plus have them locked in place, so encase of a roll over, you don't have tools flying all over the place.
What an amazing employee Jake is
