I have owned D1s for 28 years. With the original soft springs and spacers for the lift you have a soft ride, excellent axle travel and just one fantastic truck. Mine has 5" lift, 1" body lift, a tuned 4.6 V8, Ashcroft diffs and shafts and currently 255/85r16s. Soon to fit 255/100r16s. Gearing is very low so easy to pull the big pizza cutter tyres.
This is awesome. I have a '95. Wish I had gone with a 96 for obd2 but she holds her own. 3 inch lift, 265/75 tires, safari rack, winch bumber, sliders and rtt. She really goes anywhere I want in the PNW
Your 95 should still have the OBD 1 display read-out though under the passenger seat doesn’t it? Would love to see a picture of your rig. Txt it to us 385-645-3876
Shoot, I didn't know you guys had a RUclips channel! Been keeping an eye on your website for a left hand tdi Discovery. Love my 95 D1 but it's giving me troubles right now. Owned it since 07. Been throwing money at it but still won't start.
LOL, Still Life from Adrian Berenguer Composed end of Dec. 2020 /Jan 2021 I am not asking you to change your ideas about music, just know that beautiful timeless music is still compased till this day, if you have a moment try listeing to "Ten For Nine Eleven" music for life.... cpmposed only a few years ago... listen to Flamma Flamma .... etc etc etc
The main ones are ashcroft air lockers front and back .2 inch body lift .3 inch shocks with dislocation cones .uprated cranked arms .challenger 16 inch steel wheels 35 inch maxxie tyres and winch bumper witch does come in handy .there's loads more but there the main ones .
i find them better because they are fit and forget and unless you are in to heavy off road they do the job well . no need for extra lines or compressor just add a little brake pressure if they slip and they will pick you up. fitted front and back in my wife's defender 110 and they work perfectly. you just do not have to think about them they are always there and on slippery grass they are amazing. @@docbodholt2384
@@docbodholt2384they aren't they are just mechanical limited-slip but he's saying they are better than open diffs if you're not going to spend the money on lockers
Sick video, currently debating purchasing a Disco 1, I rode with a buddy in a Disco 2 in Moab for 4 days and now I'm weighing how much I want one vs how much wrenching I'm gonna have to do. I'm a Porsche Tech so I already work on cars 50hrs a week lmao
I would get the Disco 2 the traction control is awesome!! Plus just add a locker and back if you want. Also harder to find a D1 in good condition and if you do they probably want too much
I would think that would be near on impossible to learn on a disco 1 as they never had TC fitted.. this came in on the disco 2 and Land Rover were so impressed by the capabilities of the disco 2 they discontinued the centre diff lock. The last couple of years of the facelift disco 2 had the centre diff lock fitted.. the very early ones (up until late 2001ish) still had the diff lock in the transfer box and you could buy the lever and you would have it but you had a period of where it wasn’t even within the box. Another ridiculous move from Land Rover! Why would you remove something which helped? Especially if you’ve snapped a half shaft, at least you could get home on 2 wheel drive.
Why would you start your video talking about anxiety and depression. We all deal with that. Don't make it a bummer right at the start of your video dude. That's why your channel is failing.

j'ai aussi un 95, moteur 300TDI. Je vais voir pour l'OBD
What lift and tire size are you running on the Discovery 1?

love the sound of the engine.
Couldn’t hear much over the dreadful music! 😱🙉😅
I'm watching, thinking, "Is the a Rover guy...?". Then, "I'd go through this but I might have holes in my floors.".
Not bad considering the D1 doesn't have lockers where the Rubicon does.
Nice video. What was the music around 11:00, sounds like Vivaldi?

Superbe, je trouve le Discovery très class en blanc, et le terrain est très sympa, c'est tourné où?
Great video same D1 as mine ive a lot more mods now thou capable trucks either way .with a centre delete makes the rover v8 sounds awesome 👌
What mods have you made to it?

Hi, good area for off road. I'm in SLC valley area but can't pin that location. Looks like fun. Where is it?
Sweet wheels where’d you find those?
They came off of a Defender we had imported from Turkey.
open diffs suck i would fit ashcroft ATB for a little extra traction but not full lockers on the disco
How are they better than full lockers? I am interested in upgrading to Ashcroft mechanicals. I saw the ATB's but I know very little about them.

Still plenty of good Disco1s around for $5k or so. They are the last true Land Rovers and will hold their value.
OMG.. the music is tooo much.
if you learned how to use the landrover traction control you would be surprised where you can put a standard one on all terrains.
