    Lots of LR3/4 drivers dont understand that for the traction control to work, you have to stay in the power. The computer will figure out what is going on at the wheels and adjust accordingly.
    Good content! Keep the LR3 content coming!

    I have a disco Series 2 lifted on 33s and it is absolutely amazing what it does with no sway bars on front and rear solid axles but I would like to get a D3 just for longer trips kind of more luxurious on the highway. I got the D2 pretty flexed out and when you're going over 60 it gets a little sketchy LOL

    So you pretty much eliminated any suspension travel so you could fit larger tires...

    • @fj_matt
      @fj_matt  Год назад +3

      I knew someone would come along with this response…. If you do almost any bigger tire size on these you have to do what’s called an SYA kit. It essentially moves the bump zones down, but interestingly extends your rear travel so that you have more overall travel than stock. On the front, you do lose a touch of travel, but at least on my build, I’m utilizing that for fitting the bigger tires. So the only place I lost a little travel is on the front, but thanks to the limit straps, it’s using as much as possible.

    • @PyrateMickey
      @PyrateMickey Год назад +3

      @@fj_matt
      Im well aware what the kit is, but running any Independent suspension setup you take away from one you lose somewhere else. That simple engineering.
      By adding the SYA kit you are effectively eliminating any down travel but will keep your up travel to a set bump. The only true way to add additional travel with IFS/IRS is longer UCA/LCA.. not to mention land rovers technically already have long travel suspension...
      I mean its cool, but kind of impractical for any real adventuring.

    • @donhappel9566
      @donhappel9566 Год назад +1

      @@PyrateMickey If you run the limit straps then yes, you are loosing down travel. Honestly I found the limit strap design so bad I just run without them and be judicious in how I drive; not hammering when at full droop. it's been fine. And I wheel my LR3 "a bit" harder than the fire roads shown here. I do run a 34" tire and not a 35 as let's be honest, the stock gearing is just not low enough and with no available aftermarket gearsets you're just shooting yourself in the foot. If you are worried about CV angles, I'd suggest going to RCVs though in mine I've stayed with OEM shafts. I have broken aftermarket stuff as it's usually just suitable for street use and not crawling.

  • @wreckful
    @wreckful 11 месяцев назад +1

    Is your Traction Control system broken? So much wheel spin! Whenever mine starts to slip, it transfers power to the wheel with traction. Yours seemed to sit and spin without even so much as pausing the spinning wheel, much less locking it up to enable power transfer.

    • @fj_matt
      @fj_matt  11 месяцев назад

      It was probably hard to see from the one side, but it was moving power around. The tires just had mud on them and the rocks were pretty slick that day. I also didn’t have it in rock crawl for the whole time which I found makes the traction control a bit more aggressive.

    You don't use any momentum like the other two drivers it makes LR look uncapable because of the way you drive it .I think your tyres are far too big and you are frightened of busting a CV joint .You needn't worry about that because LR CVs are just as tough as the other two
