That’s some lovely smooth, careful driving and shows what a standard or lightly modded Landrover can do. The Disco 3 Just scampered up the lot. Thanks for showing it’s true capabilities.
Sick video mate, I'm about to embark on the D3 journey my self, great to see it being used like it was designed for! Ha love the D2 getting it done too. I almost want one of them instead just so I'm not as scared to get rough with it!
The LR3 is a very capable vehicle. As I have driven one at the Landrover driving school. The Disco 2 isn't bad, but the Patrol is the truck you would take into the most extreme conditions. Perhaps not the newest Patrol, but most any previous model is atleast a hair better than the G-Wagon and only a sliver below the Landcruiser.
any patrol is definitely better than land cruisers offroad. especially better than the 79. patrols have the strongest drivelines that you can get. but i prefer a disco 2
It's certainly the reason why most people who like off roading don't do it in stuff like Range Rovers despite the fact that they are great off roaders. As for the rest most people have no interest in off roading. They like SUVs for high ride, large cargo, status etc.
Those were great off road trails to showcase the LR Terrain Response System. Here is another trail with my Disco Sport HSE: ruclips.net/video/K9fMHgBcI-8/видео.html
interesting you guy's made it look easy, or clever editing! but around the 11 minute make that section is usually harder than that. it seems the track has been packed up since I last went
@@vik_vnedorog Mud & Rutts is best in the mud as well. You can disable DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) which is only recommended to be done in Sand mode. I have not had trouble with ABS while doing difficult off-roading as it low speed.
Scott A. M Thanks for the reply, an amazing performance from both Discos considering then eh? I am looking at buying one and wanted an e-diff, but a friend who works for the Landrover Experience was telling me they are really capable without it...... I guess this shows he’s right. 😎
Great video! What roof rack do you have on the D3? I see it's fixed to the factory roof rails. I would like something like that, as it looks easily detachable. I would only use it a couple of times a year, and my car would not clear the garage entrance with a roof rack on :(
This specific LR3? This one has been a bit of a nightmare. Having said that I still have it and have done a lot of kms in it and some big trips. It has never left me stranded in the middle of nowhere... though it has left me stranded in a carpark when the electric handbrake locked on!
Are you asking which did it easier? The video shows a Discovery 2, a Discovery 3 and a Nissan Patrol. They all did the track differently. They all completed it.
For off road and general use I would go the Discovery 3 or 4. They are a smaller vehicle and a lot more comfortable. They drive extremely well around town and on the highway.
Yeah. It has been fine. I think they have mounting options if you don't have the extended roof rails. Took it out into the Simpson and Lake Eyre fully loaded and it didn't move or sag.

i loved the damage on the cars. really got that true offroading feel

Awesome video. Great skills in the technical stuff. Can't believe that the LR's don't have recovery winches on them though. That's ballsy!
Great video on the market for a disco 3 so nice to see them doing some work
Great vid. I had a D2 td5 in that same gold finish. Now got a D4 SDV6. Love them both. Greetings from NZ
You are the first guys, that I see , who lower the wheels, respect!
LR3 driver is really good...or was it just the car?
Great vid, makes you proud to be a disco owner
I agree ,a great vid, greetings from England
Estou namorado umas marcas 4x4 para adquiri e a LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2 e uma delas e vendo a brabeza dela neste vídeo me apaixone
13:12 Most SUV/Off-Road vehicle owners are accused of never using their vehicle for what it was intended for!... could this be Why? 🤔

Despite the carnage at the end, that Disco 2 guy knows his stuff... I would have been slipping and sliding in mine.
Can confirm that. He knows how to drive.
Was thinking the same. Good knowledge of the D2s very capable but fussy TC.
those plastic rear bars are so expensive these days. its a pity they're so brittle!
The same chunk of bumper is missing from the opposite side of my d2 👊🏻
Hi there, I really enjoyed your video, I am putting together an off road compilation of the Discovery, and wondered if you would like to be included?
Sure. Go for it.

Какие режимы использовались ? Discovery 3.
Mainly 'Mud & Rutts' mode. HDC turned off (because it is annoying and not really needed if using low range 1st gear).
@@scotta.m6859 Thanks. And in the mud, which is better to use?
And I understand that ABS cannot be completely disabled?

what is the tire size in Discovery 2 ?
Does the Disco 3 have the optional rear locker? I think they called it E-diff or something........
Nope. No E-Diff. Seems a only pretty small percentage of Disco 3s & 4s that have the E-Diff option.
Scott A. M Thanks for the reply, an amazing performance from both Discos considering then eh?

Rhino pioneer platform
That’s pretty gnarly stuff! Awesome driving. What pressures was the D3 running?
I seem to recall somewhere in the mid-20s Psi
Great video!
How reliable is this LR3?
This specific LR3? This one has been a bit of a nightmare. Having said that I still have it and have done a lot of kms in it and some big trips. It has never left me stranded in the middle of nowhere... though it has left me stranded in a carpark when the electric handbrake locked on!
I did this in my disco three
bellissimo percorso.
What size tyres on the D3 ?
265/65R18 ?
285 60 18
Thanks, did you have to deflate the spare to make it fit ?
Yep. You need to remove all plastics underneath and deflate to about 12psi to make it fit. Always carry a compressor.
So no rubbing at all with your 285 x 60 x 18 ? Cheers
Land rovers just look so refined in the rough stuff, like their driving in the mall parking lot
Nissan Patrol or Discovery 3?
