Took the S3 down to R tech Performance to see what exactly broke when it blew up last video. Instagram: / trhamza_ Email Enquiries: hamza_trh@hotmail.com
@@TRHamza it does have a great service history but I'm not sure what's caused it to seize on your S3. Great content by the way love the channel, and thank you for the reply.
@@iantaylor620 They wear down and usually first drops the oil pressure. When they are grinded enough they just seize up but I think that is very rare. Usually its just oil pressure problem and you have to change the whole assembly. VIS freewheel is supposed to fix that problem preventively.
Fascinating video. Obviously it's sad that the S3 engine ate itself, but thank you for posting the video of the strip down, it's absolutely riveting seeing each stage of the disassembly and seeing what went wrong. It's like an investigation.
Great to see R-Tech back on the channel, love their work. Can't wait to see where you take this. Thank god I installed the VIS balance shaft delete on my car, adds quite a bit more vibration, but I'm happy to live with it considering what's happened to yours💥💨
First absolutely munted a m5 clutch and then detonated a s3 motor! Hamz doing it in style 🤣 loving the vids mate! Been an every episode watcher since before the grey mk5 and you never stop entering! Cant wait for the next one!
So glad I got R-Tech to do a VIS balance shaft delete cog on my Mk5 GTi. Glad you've got another engine sorted for the S3. Liking the TFSI content on the chanel again. 👌👍
Loving the workrate Hamza. Nice way to end my weekend watching your vids. Keep up the great content please as the more content the better. I will sign up to your patreon if this continues!
Oh so a blown engine on this car, and a blown clutch on the other car, damn, but yet you keep a smile on your face thats why i love you bro 😎, keep up the good work bro
Hamza just buy that whole S3 and use the bodyparts from yours to make it nice again, in the end of the day you have an original 83K mile S3 which is probably tidier underneath too
I remember buying an 06 Golf GTI and it blew up (oil pump failure + blocked syphon) within half an hour of buying it 😂🤷♂️ I just stuck with subaru after that, rather break down in a WRX 🤷♂️
Hamza it's time to rename the channel to include 'salvage' in the branding bro lololol. Jokes aside, great teardown, I actually really enjoy this content and love seeing the cars back on the road at the end of it.. keep the faith bro lmao
@@Max34557 i never experienced any vibrations on 2 cars i had this done to however some people do get them, mainly due to old engine mounts, if you did get vibrations new engine mounts would reduce what you would feel.
Ayy this shape of the S3 you could get without out the S3 bage, you just buy high speced a3 2.0l T with a manual. Lots of surport from South Africa 🔥💥👌💪
First 2 steps if you buy TFSI EA 113! Install 2.0L TFSI EA113 roller tappet conversion kit for high pressure pump! And install a vis motorsport balance shaft delete!
Nik is an absolute master with the 1.8t, tsfi , I had a very bad experience with a anther tuner who pretty much wrecked my golf and he found the issue in about 30 min and didn't even want any money from me , just asked me to get the map removed and to get him to tune it instead.. and he was cheaper. Don't live in UK anymore but if I did and had one of these engine I wouldn't take it anywhere else
I feel your pain.......two cars out of action, with potentially expensive bills ahead to put them right. However , I know you'll overcome these challenges & provide us with some interesting content along the way. By the way, does gge 1.0 L TFSI engine have similar problems to your S3 unit?
If you need a engine, I’ve got a forged CDL there, only done 4k miles since rebuild, balance shaft delete sprocket installed, wossner pistons, pec rods etc etc 👍
In the last video didn't you say while you did the pick up you should have done the balance shaft delete dude....... Either way sounds like it was going to be one thing after another with the motor dude. That breaking s3 may be a good idea to get some of the less crusty bits to replace the really crusty bits on yours hamza. Big respect to nikki Ben and the boys they are the dons in the 113 world. 🤙

Good old 2.0 TFSI

So is the balance shaft issue a common problem? I have an Octavia VRS with the KO3 turbo engine with 112,000 miles and I'm a bit concerned!!
@@iantaylor620 it’s not common if the car is well maintained. But well worth doing if buying a used TFSI where you don’t know the history too well

Balance shaft deletes are a must on these engines, a cheap preventative measure.
I have the same engine and am thinking about installing a VIS freewheel, but doesn’t disabling the balance shafts introduce more vibrations?

I had an 07 8p s3, with a BWA motor swapped in. Crazy fun but you gotta buy them expecting the worst and hoping for the best
Isn't BWA 2.0 A3/TT? BHZ is the S3 motor old gen and CDL facelift same as tts afaik
Good video Hamza 👍🏻
Get the steering wheel as well. The old one is horrible lol. I used to have a CDL S3 and I was always scared what I would have to pay for on that 😂
Keep em coming

Great to back on VAG content. Got the Perfect Plate for you to enjoy the TFSI Life once again. Let me know.
my whip black s3 jxd plate😂🔥
Oil pump ran by a hex key that rounds off?
So does anybody know how this has happened? Lack of maintenance by previous owner?
do a fully built s3 should be able to push 450-500hp would make a sick vid
Im a simple man, I see hamza I click
i was told u had to get to main botls to view crank shaft and remove the upper oil pan do i not need to?
Fit the 1.8t oil pump much better bartek does a video on modifying block to take it
need an update on the 130i!!!!
Why does it need the balance shaft in the first place other than to balance the engine if you say it isn’t needed?
Vrs Northampton get a good low mileage engine used them a few time's really good for engine and gearbox body panel's
So was it the non gen chain tensioner failure please mate?
Good old tsfi life hey 👍
yes hamz
Thx Sir🤜🏻🤛🏻❤

How close a shave then did the last owner have before you bought it....talk about you being unlucky.
"Is that salvageable?"
