Little tip with that dirko sealant, theres a little key looking tool that comes with it, pop it on the bottom of the tube and twist and it flows much smoother and allows you to be more consistent with it
Ayyy back with the TFSI's, bought my first GTI due to your videos, mine died 3 months after having it. But I'm nearly finishing an engine swap with a CDL & Venom 450!
Re: applying new sealant, I'd recommend Victor Reinz Reinzosil - even the normal 'tube' comes with a metal tool allowing you to roll the end of the tube to get a consistent bead.
Bought a 1.8 TFSI Black edition last month, got an oil pressure warning and started sounding like a bag of shit, the oil pump is probably about to fail. Turned the car off and left it with the dealership I bought it from to sort it. They gave it back to me after just changing an oil filter, i refused to take it back since it still sounded like a bag of shit and now I’m in legal battles lol. Fun times.
Great to see some S3 8p content, as a owner of a R-Tech stage 2+ S3. Can't wait to see the journey of this car Also can't wait to see the lads at R-Tech on your channel again, love their work👌🏾
Unlucky for you on this one mate 😢 Hopefully it’s not damaged to much, at least you’ll get some extra content out of her. Cheers Hamza have a good wknd
Really enjoy your content. I own a 06 A4 Avant and a 10 535i, while my collection isnt the same, your experiences keep me on my toes about the models I have.
Had bought my first S38P at 20yo...was so happy that i finally have bought my dream car because in Greece it still costs around 15-18k for a decent one. Had it done stage 1 within the first week, after 5 months car died same way as yours and guess what, oil pump. No warnings, no nothing, i was doing some pulls and suddenly it started rattling and same time the oil pressure light came up... hopefully now with my TTS CDL engine wont have same issues :P
First video I’ve seen from you and really enjoyed it 👍👍 I usually watch ccd Calvin’s car diary but your vids are way more in-depth which is great plus you sound like an honest guy Keep um coming
Mate I swear I had saw this video title recently and I was like questioning myself if I was in fact going mental and thinking I’ve saw what didn’t exist. But now I feel sane. Thanks hamza. Gunna crack on and watch it now! You been around the cheylesmore area of cov recently? Was up there seeing family and swear I saw the m5 on one of the ring roads.
@@TRHamza 😂😂😂 yes I knew it was you, I saw a glimpse of the reg plate but you shot off and the misses mighty 1.6tdi polo wasn’t catching up at all. I’ve just started my own mk5 gti high mileage (175k) K04 hybrid build, purely inspired by your stuff from ages ago. Took me a while to pull my wallet out and get my ass out to my garage.
I had audi a3 1.6 petrol 2005. Man that thing was total junk. Having spent silly money on it, i bought a suzuki liana estate 04 from a scrap yard. Paid £230 for it and spent around 130 for a suspension arm and a new bolt for exhaust and passed mot no issues. Had it 6 years now 184k miles, i thrashed its bolts off and still runs mint. Only ever asked me for clutch and thermostat.
Oil pump failed and bottom end done i rekon had same with a cupra and an a3 1.8t. If you changed the oil pump and bottom end bearings u would have been ok i think maybe who knows least itll come back from rtech strong IA 💪
Boys! When buying one of these S3's or A3's alike with the intention of driving hard. I suggest you add a freewheel to the Balance shaft. Reason why: The balance shaft rotates at twice the RPM of the engine in the opposite direction of the crankshaft in order to reduce engine vibration. Problem is: The max engine RPM is 8,000 RPM the max RPM for the Balance Shaft is 14,000 RPM. If you slap the rev limiter constantly it WILL explode.
That oil pick up seal looked not that old, do you think that the previous owner had the oil pressure issue and then just replaced the pick up but then the issue was still there so they sold up?

My old 8P had a few pickup pipe blockage issues leading to pressure but it survived everytime. Happened on the first day I got it at 30k miles, nearly 200k on it by the time I sold it
Never squeeze sealant from middle of tube ,you don't get a proper release of the sealant always squeeze from bottom then fold over bottom of tube as you apply less wastage plus the tube doesn't look and mangled 🙄
Genuinely gutted for you mate! 😔 Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for the repair content on it, but still it's such bad luck. I've the CDL in my cupra R, and although it runs sweet, I always think each journey could be it's last 😂🙈
Where can i find the oil pickup pipe, im from The Netherlands and i cant find it anywhere here, i have a Golf 5 GTI EDITION 30 2008, and i want to change the oil pickup pipe ASAP, if someone could send me a link for the part i would appreciate it.

Loving how the mighty Volvo led the S3 in at the beginning. Tough old boots that thing.
These were amazing cars for the time.
I took the BAM (mk1 s3) engine out and put it in my mk2 golf.
Mapped it from 225 to 280. Amazing.
This js not a 1.8 20vt bam engine. Its a 2.0 tfsi engine. The 1.8 20vt engines are alot better in my opinion.
Thanks
cool to see you working on your cars hamza it adds something different to your channel man
Appreciated these back in the day, still a lot of fun to be had with these 😎
Hyped to see the old boys at R-Tech come back for another video

When you have enough money to drop 4k on an old high performance audi which may blow up at any minute you dont care as much.
Your garden looks like a Tesco car park honestly, would be great to have a look round
Very very common issue if the oil pick up pipe isn't regularly cleaned. Vis balance shaft delete was the best prevention method for mine

Moral of the story if you buy any audi between 2005 and 2008 you need to change the oil pump before it's gone. IT goes for both diesel and petrol
check your VVT gear! my gear went and it felt like i bent a valve! I was on it and it went limp into a heavy boost cut. mk5 gti owner!

Mate oil pick up pipes should be cleaned every other year especially if mapped or by that point delete the balance shaft to avoid this issue
If it’s 1.4 it’s the cam chain again, very very common.
Bought one recently myself 7.5k, had it 6wks before it went bang with similar issues.
Looking forward for this one 👌
Loved it bro 👊🏻
That oil pressure issue is a weird one TR, like you said it could be oil pump failure but would be interesting to find out more. 😁🚙🏁
Damn that oil filter has quite a lot metallic bits
Scared to drive my BWA now 🙁
