Taking a look, for the first time, at the Q Timex. Or, as I like to call it, the Timex Q. You can see the watch on the Timex website: www.timex.com/...
This is a very fun watch for the money and for old farts my age, the brand takes us back to childhood. I enjoyed watching you fumble around with the clasp because it took me a good long minute to figure it out also! Thanks for the shoutout and good vid!
I totally agree, the Timex Q makes so much more sense. I love this watch, I have a huge Timex collection, but this one is my daily wearer can't get enough of it.
It’s a great watch to play with for a while and then give to a kid. Never too early to introduce horology, watch addiction, and bankruptcy to the next generation!
No offense, but I bought a GS Quartz (SBGN009) a few weeks ago and it is absolutely spot on as far as seconds-to-the-hash marks. The fact that I can put it on without resetting it (after sitting for several days), dead on accuracy, and it has a TRUE GMT function (independent hr hand) I'm seriously considering selling off several mechanical watches in my collection!
Thank you for showing us how to resize. Just got my Timex T80 in gold. Fun watch to match it with my gold accessories aka fountain pen, cigar cutter, etc.
As I stated in my review, I absolutely loved it and would have kept it. But that damn bracelet was yanking my hairs. So off it went and is in the hands of its new owner in England.
Timex "cheap and chinsy"? Strange that he would be surprised at the quality. Timex has always made excellent products. "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking". I've owned several over my life and I've always thought they were excellent value for money.
For anyone planning to masturbate while wearing that watch...please first ensure that you are clean shaven. Just sayin' (not from personal experience or anything). ;)
Thank you for sharing this unboxing. Definitely it's not my kind of watch even it looks good. I have a couple of quartz watches, two gifts and I love them. My first real watches. Anyway the most important thing is you Austin enjoy and love it. Still enjoying my Boctok GMT I bought few months ago when you were making several videos about it. That Boctok I got is a cheap but good looking watch and works very well. Thank you for sharing Sir. Keep it up!
Austin Please buy a Swiss Quartz Watch They are so much better you will be much happier. Tissot makes really nice quartz watches. I use mine when at the park with the kids.
lol yup exactly right. It beats Austin's GMT Rolex by a mile lol. Incredible isn't it, how something so crap and cheap can turn out to be even better than the real thing.
I don't see how it's easier, it's probably simpler because you just rotate the bezel on this watch to show the other timezone. Although I still prefer the GMT function on a Rolex or Omega. On those watches, the 2nd timezone is given in a 24 hour format so you can tell apart AM from PM easily. On the Timex, you cannot do that. Also the ability to independently adjust the 12 hour hand when travelling between timezone is extremely useful and convenient.
jeromio_peezy yes, easier as in- it takes about 2 seconds and no specific understanding of how to operate the watch to set it. Also, in the Americas people are generally unfamiliar with 24 hour time, unless they have military experience. I know in Europe schedules are typically listed in 24 hour time. Of course these issues are easily overcome by the enthusiast, not to mention part of the fun of the hobby. All I’m saying is if you took someone who doesn’t know about watches it would take under a minute to explain the Q’s bezel and quite a bit longer to explain a proper GMT. I know a lot of people that would give up and say it’s not for them.
@@jeromio_peezy6822 It's much easier, one turn and there you go, 2nd time zone. I have a friggin PhD and sometimes the whole concept of rotating time displays (with the stupid thing on the outer bezel nonetheless, confusing even telling the normal time) is difficult for me. Therefore I'm sorry to have to say it, but Timex GMT > Rolex GMT.
You can adjust the clasp hook on the Timex Q How did you screw it up? And what exactly did I day in the video that you have an issue with? Throw a time stamp in.
It is funny to see how long it takes to some people to adjust old school claps. It is like watching the monkeys jumping around the black stone in 2001space odyssey
Well, it's vintage looking, has a lot of Rolex elements, was talked up by Hodinkee in an article, and Timex can't seem to keep them in stock. So it's a perfect storm of hype.
Looks and smells like a very cheap watch from a mile. You should have been focused on a cat 🐈 and she is the only reason you have been granted with 👍 today😀

Your cat's purring is so relaxing! Anytime a cat or dog is in a RUclips video, the overall entertainment value goes up several notches.
Thanks Chris!
It’s a great watch to play with for a while and then give to a kid. Never too early to introduce horology, watch addiction, and bankruptcy to the next generation!
Agree, although a Seiko 5 is better for that purpose. A quarter of the price, mechanical auto movement with a display caseback.
I agree- the biggest challenge I see is most people don’t even wear watches.
No offense, but I bought a GS Quartz (SBGN009) a few weeks ago and it is absolutely spot on as far as seconds-to-the-hash marks. My Citizen is radio controlled. It sets itself every night and the second hand is spot on every time.
Thank you for showing us how to resize. Just got my Timex T80 in gold. Fun watch to match it with my gold accessories aka fountain pen, cigar cutter, etc.
Thanks - glad you liked it.
Feels quality?? I have one and it definitely doesn't feel like quality feels like a cheap quartz which what it is
Coffee Fanatic, go easy on Austin. All he has is pre ceramic rolexes so he doesn’t know what a quality bracelet feels like.
My Rolex feels pretty cheap compared to my Citizen. It's not about the money these days innit?
Really fun watch for me. Good looking, old time. Smaller than normal today. Light, accurate. I like it. Yes, I have many manual watches.
Thank you for amazing video good job information buddy I going buy one on Amazon
Great video Austin. I think your going to like this watch, I know I like mine. For what it is it's pretty cool.
As I stated in my review, I absolutely loved it and would have kept it. But that damn bracelet was yanking my hairs. So off it went and is in the hands of its new owner in England.
Hi Austin, thanks for the vlogs.
I got mine yesterday so happy

Almost 200 hundred bucks,I think over and over if I should grab this one
Undone or this...hmmmmmmmm what would archie choose
Those adjustable clasps are so convenient and easy to use
That's one of my favorite aspects of this watch!
Warning: do not let that bracelet anywhere near your head. You will rip a significant number of hairs out 😬
For anyone planning to masturbate while wearing that watch...please first ensure that you are clean shaven. Just sayin' (not from personal experience or anything). ;)
damachine3 lmfao... could definitely be a problem 😂
@@damachine3 sooo not your personal experiance 🤔😂👍
@@marcel9688 Never, I'm not a weirdo. I only wear Rolex oyster bracelets when doing that. ;)
I am not shaven and l am typing this waiting for the doctor. Sorry l mean waiting with my friend who isn't shaven and needs the doctor

It looks very nice, but the bracelet constantly pulls hair. I like the look of the bracelet, but I have to replace it with one that doesn't hurt me.
I really like the case but that band wouldnt do well with my wrist hairs. Kinda the same complaint Goldberg had. Congrats on the watch.👍🏼
Are Goldberg's wrist hair issues his or his boyfriend's. Jk not kidding. Ouch. 😱
I just received this watch and I pulled out the little plastic thing and the watch is not going. What do I do?
Thanks Buddy 👌
What's the little tool you are using for the wrist band adjustment. A small screw driver would work but you have something better.
How do you get it to show the days in Spanish?
The seconds hand may not be dead on because it has a seiko quartz movement
I asume you are looking the watch through a screen, what you are seeing is parallax effect, that would happen on any watch.
Love to see with sapphire crystal with that cost or little bucks extra.
Austin Please buy a Swiss Quartz Watch They are so much better you will be much happier. Tissot makes really nice quartz watches. I use mine when at the park with the kids.
Off. On. Off. On. That’s funny. 😂😂😂
Yeahh that was hilarious hahahahaha
I’d like to see how popular the Timex Q remains once this Genta, Pepsi and unavailability frenzy dies down.
Mine has a black background Day/Date vs your white background
You know there is something about the simplicity of a Timex that's very grounding. I think that is their true claim to their fame.
I hear ya - just an honest down-to-Earth timepiece. I respect that!
Yeah I got to get one when your even digging it an most every other RUclipsr an Instagrammer it's a must have .
That's is helpful
Everyone has their own taste,I say buy it,wear it if you like,I know at least I millionaire that Ware's a $20 Timex, hell I wear a Bulova sometimes.
You forgot to explain the poor man’s GMT function. It’s actually useable and a lot easier to use than a real GMT function. Next video maybe?

The second can’t be spot on Austin because the dial isn’t symetric; the dial is bad not the second hand.
Didn't think about that - you may be absolutely right!
Why doesn't the bezel have 24 hour markers ?
Because it doesn’t have a GMT hand, so it wouldn’t work. The GMT function works on 12 hour time with the same hour hand.
it looks really cool on your wrist bro. 😎
Compared to this, a Squaleeeeeeee is high horology.
Done an unboxing vid myself. Enjoy the watch!
TIMEX still make watches???
Your made it seem like the original timex band was meant to adjust and it isn’t. Thanks for leading me to screw up my band
You can adjust the clasp hook on the Timex Q
How did you screw it up? And what exactly did I day in the video that you have an issue with? Throw a time stamp in.
Whoever greenlighted the Q was a genius... Not for me but it sure is tempting to jump on the bandwagon. Just can't do Q
Did you get it for retail price?
Yes, I wouldn't pay over retail.
It is funny to see how long it takes to some people to adjust old school claps. It is like watching the monkeys jumping around the black stone in 2001space odyssey
Austin, even 40 yo cheap quartz 4004 seikos match perfectly with indexes. All the time 🙂
agonizingly slow to get to the info you actually need
Why is this watch so hyped??
Well, it's vintage looking, has a lot of Rolex elements, was talked up by Hodinkee in an article, and Timex can't seem to keep them in stock. So it's a perfect storm of hype.

Where did you buy it?
I had someone order it in the States, and then send it to me.
Austin Daniels
Have you asked your friend to send it?
You made that look much harder than it actually is lol....
Hate to be that guy but this didn't help. Can't stand this band and have no clue how to adjust the thing. Seiko link removal is infinitely easier.
Nice $50 watch. For $179 or less, you can get a Vostok Neptune Amphibian Automatic GMT. Good video. Thanks.
Just ordered min3 today. Adding it to my $80,000 watch collection
Not too impressed to be completely frank and honest.
All Timex watche has this strange backplay of second hand
It's a cheap quartz thing. Grand Seikos are specifically built not to do that.
Why you bought it? You’re own Rolex and after it- Timex? Quartz? You’d better get Citizen or Seiko solar model!!
This is the first analogue quartz watch I've had in about a decade. Perhaps a small step toward a GS 9F?
C00l
Looks nice but make no mistake, an Absolute shitter.
I have to agree 🤷
I bought a Timex Snoopy. It’s cheaper, automatic, and has a snoopy on the dial. Still a shitter though.
Looks like a zipper on the wrist.
What a shocking review
Total crap
Please oh please torture test like the vostok!!!!
Looks and smells like a very cheap watch from a mile. You should have been focused on a cat 🐈 and she is the only reason you have been granted with 👍 today😀
The watch is so good I had to give it away to a lady friend :) True story
