Thank you this is my third watch bracelet adjustment video that I've watched today and it is by far the most professional and the most informational. This makes me feel confident about working on my own watch bracelets. My next step is buying the right tools I guess. Thanks for posting this video much appreciated.
Just watched 3 videos on this subject, but yours was by far the best. Having broken my clamp pin thingy, and I don’t have a block and nylon hammer, I was amazed to see you can push the pins out with the flat tool and finger pressure alone. Wish I’d watched this video months ago. Thanks a million 👍
This was super helpful! A new watch arrived today. First new watch I’ve bought in 10 years. I got a sizing kit similar to the one in this video. Probably a much cheaper version though. Watched the video through twice. Then decided to give it a try using that screw type vice tool. The pins came right out, I removed a few links, then used the hammer to replace the pins. Finally I used the method shown here to adjust the spring pin. Done in less than 10 minutes and the watch fits perfectly! Thanks!!
If you don't have a fancy watch block, to put it on, while you tap the pins out, I used a "flat" wrench from a monitor arm to provide a simple gap for the pin to fall out. Also, if you don't have the fancy punch tool, the center wire of a coax video cable can be used to gently tap the pins out. Yep, talking about mcgyver, but it really does work! Great video, and thanks for the helps.
Thank you for this...I always take my new watch to the local jeweler and pay them $20 to adjust the bracelet. I have had a kid for quite a while but if I did not learn anything else from your video is LOOK FOR THE ARROWS! 😂👌 I had never seen those before. So, I successful adjusted my bracelet on my new Seiko GMT....I feel empowered! Thanks my dude!
Perfect video from a professional. Hate all the DIY videos of amateurs doing this and telling other people what to do. I've just bought a 500 dollar watch, I'm not gonna trust some diy guy and start banging on my watch with a hammer. You, on the other hand are a respectable source and I trust your advice. Thank you!
I don't usually leave comments, but this video was worth commenting on. This is the 4th video I've watched on this and this is the most helpful video I've seen! It answered all my questions and helped me in the general area I needed help in with my watch! Thank u so very much! Great video!👍 5 ☆☆☆☆☆
five years late but just used this video and its flawless, thanks so much took me around five minutes having never done anything like it before in my life. This is what youtube is for!
Thanks for doing these videos! I always find them to be helpful and informative about exactly what I’m trying to figure out! And to anyone out there that hasn’t purchased an Islander watch, do it! You won’t be disappointed! The value and quality of the components far exceeds the price of the watch itself!!
I watched four other videos before I came to yours. Yours was, BY FAR, the most informative. Thanks for taking the time and doing a very professional, informative and easy to understand job!
This video is great and very approachable for amateurs (like me) I was able to fit my watch and there is a clear sense of pride being able to do it yourself. Thanks for posting this video.
Great video Mark! Such straight forward and easy explanation! Now I feel comfortable sizing my watch and don’t have to rely on having to go to a jewelry store to do it. Much appreciated!
I'm really glad I watched this. First, it's educational. Second, I have a Seiko bracelet needing sizing. I considered diving in and trying it out, maybe buy one or two tools. But, in the end, I took it to a watchmaker, cost me $9 and tax, and took 10 minutes.
I grew up in Huntington Station. I really miss hearing people speak like this, not just the accent (yours is not overly pronounced), but the manner of speaking. Confident, intelligent, with a sense of humility and humor combined. Thanks for bringing back memories. Thanks for the excellent video! Channeling Jim Croce: "Cause [Florida's] not my home." PS - Big Zebra fan here. Too bad they haven't created anymore music.
Thank you for uploading this video. I have adjusted my watch bracelet myself after getting the tools from Amazon. it's easy. This is a more professional video. Some people are using nail or paper clip to do this in their video. If anyone wants to make a mess with their expensive watch then use a nail or paperclip. Great Video....Thank You.
Very good information video. Before looking at your video, I destroyed a bracelet on a new watch. Definitely need that whole block and tools kit. Learned alot. Thank you!!!
Folks have already said it but if can't be overstated how well put together this video is. It is professionally done, very informative, I learned a lot, I can't wait for my watch repair kit to ship so I can try out these techniques.
Learned a lot from your video, tried other ways I saw online. Couldn't find the jewelers block you used, made one on my table saw in about a minute, Measured the width of my watchband and made the cut to leave 1/8" of the band above the wood surface, used a colored push pin and ground the pointed end flat, tapped the pins out of my band very easily. Voila!
Excellent video. My wife's Bulova watch has been in a box for 2 years because I couldn't find a screwdriver small enough. 6:27 cleared that confusion up for me.
Thank you used the very first method to adjust and it worked great. A jeweler advised $ 22 for the adjustment. This video saved me $ 88 as I had to adjust 4 watches that I just bought.
very well illustrated and easy to understand....a good teacher!! I already have the tool kit, I just needed someone to show me how to use it....and yes, I did think the pin was a tiny, tiny slot headed screw...LOL.
Mark! Thank you for a very informative video! I wish more RUclipsrs would be as concise and to the point in their videos like you were. Although I did not have the exact tools you have; with the micro tools I have around I was able to downsize my Seiko's band by one link in just a couple of minutes! Now if fits snugly and doesn't flop around anymore. Success, thanks to you!
I won’t lie, I was already working on my watch off of the information of a different video, and I got to this one from auto play, but you saved me from putting a pin in backwards, so I thank you sir
We can always depend on Marc from LongIslandWatch to provide the best watch advice, tips and methods. This helped me to easily size a new Casio Edifice with friction pins in just a few minutes. Thank you again.
Thank you, Long Island Watch! I've had some of the tools you demonstrate in this video, but I didn't know how to use them. I just finished removing links from a new bracelet for my vintage King Seiko Hi-beat. It finally fits perfectly.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. New Casio edifice watch arrived today and on trying it on it clearly needed two links removing. I have never attempted this before and am rubbish at anything manual - DIY? Forget it, I call an electrician to change my lightbulbs (OK not quite that, but you get the picture). fire up youtube and the third video I watched was this and within less than 10 minutes all perfectly done and a perfect fit. I'd already bought the plastic cube and mallet/hammer thing and it worked a treat. Thanks again, you're a star :) :)
A huge "Thank You!," Mark for posting this bracelet sizing tutorial. I had just finished removing some links from an older watch and miraculously managed to get it accurately sized and reassembled prior to discovering this video. Your excellent presentation served to confirm some issues that I encountered and solved during that task. Despite having my watch perfectly sized and on my wrist as I watched this video, I can honestly say that I wish that I had watched it prior rather than after. You have earned my respect and a subscription to your channel. With nearly 20 watches in my rapidly growing collection, I think it's about time that I quit running to my local jeweler/watchmaker for every little thing that I can now do for myself... with access to your expertise in my toolbox, that is. So, thanks again! I look forward to learning more in the days to come!
Thanks a lot. Saved me a few bucks. I actually used a large paper clip for a punch and it worked great. The part about the arrows is what saved my butt.
very helpful, thank you very much. particularly what you said at the beginning about the 'screw' heads of the pins. i bought a reasonably expensive 'beads of rice' bracelet and noticed one end had what appeared to be screws and i thought i would have to go to a jeweller. i have been educated, thank you..!
Thank you for making such an informative video! Watch resizing looked so complicated before I watched this video. Thanks for breaking it down so even a novice understands.
Excellent video. I have taken links out before and often bent or broken the pin remover and presumed that I was doing it wrong. You make it look easy and I now feel more comfortable trying again. Many thanks
Thanks a lot bro, I was offered a j860/b Jaguar on birthday. The strap was bigger than my wrist and thought I would take it to shop man to adjust. Then got an idea to search on RUclips. I will resize my watch myself. I will use tolls from a mathematical set since I don’t have professional tool. Thanks a lot.
Sized around 5 or 6 Seiko/Citizen/Blieger/Strapcode watches/bands. My Orient 3 star was my first folded link watch. Didn't expect to need to look up how to size a watch again. Found the pin tool on my W&S Spring Bar Tool actually made it pretty easy and I didn't damage it!
Perfect. Thank you. I had the repair/adjustment kit but didn't know what the mini vice / pin pusher thing was for. Worked like a charm and saved me £15 at the jewellers.
Thank you! I had ordered a band from [website that has lot's of stuff] and they sent a kit. I was able to work out everything but how to get the pin back in. I was afraid I was going to strip the threads of the vise but you confirmed I was doing it properly. Thank you!
Hey Marc, great video, very helpful. It's the "screw" piece that can be most confusing, and you have certainly simplified it. Keep those instructional videos coming. Thanks again!
Your video was very helpful! My close friend passed away and left me his Seiko watch. His wrist was larger than mine and I had no idea how to adjust it. You are right....I thought the end of the cotter-pin looked like a screw slot. Thanks to your video I was able to adjust and wear the watch....and remember my friend when I check the time.
Brilliant thank you. I found the simple method worked really well. Best advice? ''walk it over'' prevents the pin from shooting out into a place where there is no hope of it being found
You sold me Marc. Now I am going to buy your kit. There are cheaper ones on Amazon but I would rather spend the extra few dollars with you since you took the time to show this informative vid. I appreciate it! I am looking now at the Orient Agent. Looks like a very good value for what you get.
I'm trying to leave a brief comment, but how? Despite zero previous experience and a new watch and repair kit in front of me, this video quickly enabled me to pick out the handful of tools I wanted to use and resize my watch right away (I used the band support block method). Thank you for producing this great video, and for the time and effort I know polished and clear content like this requires!
Perfect analogy haha. My spring pin definitely became Apollo 13 first time I was adjusting my micro adjustment. One moment I was chillin, next moment it was across the room “somewhere” in the carpet😂😂
By far the best video and instructions from someone who really knows what he's doing. Many thanks for the very clear detail in the video and the helpful explanations. Really gave me the confidence to do a good job on my new Seiko.
Great videos Marc! The only thing I'd do differently is use a toothpick for the micro adjustments. It works perfectly and avoids scratches in case you slip. Keep up the good work!
Nice video. I was able to remove 2 links and tighten one micro adjustment on my new Invicta 5053 'Pepsi'. I like the idea of 'walking' the micro-adjuster pin, but I was not able to do that. I didn't lose the pin at least and did get the band finished. Thank you!
Thanks a million! Before the video I was using a micro flat to try to unscrew the pins 😂 I had no clue what I was doing. Also, I used the fine tuning pin and your method is excellent to do it quickly and keep it all together.
Thanks for the Video. Very timely for me. I'll be getting delivery of my Seiko that I purchased from you in about 30 minutes. Also bought the tool kit you mention in the video. I'll be using both along with the how-to you just explained. Much appreciated!

This makes me feel confident about working on my own watch bracelets. My next step is buying the right tools I guess. Thanks for posting this video much appreciated.
Yes, I agree GS, this is by far the best video for this type of bracelet adjustment.
Totally agree!
A RUclips video that actually explains properly what you need to know. Thank you Mark!

Excellent video. Clear, easy to understand and no trawling through loads of unnecessary information before you got to the point of the video.
No annoying background music - just great narrative and information. A definite 'thumbs up' !
What a champion, when you hear "this is Mark from Long Island Watch" at the beginning of a video you know it's going to be good
This is the best adjustment vid out there. Shows proper tools and best methods. Straight to the point. Much thanks Long Island Watch!
I don't usually leave comments, but this video was worth commenting on. This is the 4th video I've watched on this and this is the most helpful video I've seen! It answered all my questions and helped me in the general area I needed help in with my watch! Thank u so very much! Great video!👍

Perfect instructions, delivered concisely and professionally -- thanks!! 👌
This the best watch band adjustment video I've seen. I bought an adjustment kit and feel like a pro already. Thank you!

hi marc. this is the best do-it-yourself video on watch bracelet adjustments. thank you very much.
Excellent presentation! This is my third watch video and this is by far the best and most comprehensive. Thank you

Dude thanks! I found 5 old watches and I would never have got them right without you!
I love it when a video is this efficient. Well done really
I’ve watched thousands of RUclips videos, this is joining the group of five I have liked.
My brother bought me a watch, used the first method to shorthen the braclet, suprised how well it fits now. Thanks!
Best way to go,simple and easy.Still haven't got the hang of bracelet removal and found this article to be of assistance.
Useful information. Thanks Mark
Just got a Seiko 5 automatic sports watch from these guys! Highly recommend them. Great service and the best price I could find online. Love my watch!
Great tutorial! Thanks for covering the micro adjustment. Well done.
Very good info - thanks! I bought two watch repair kits but now I need to know what all the tools are for!
Always find my way back to this one every time I need to resize.
The best instructor. I couldn't figure anything out on my own. Thank you Marc.

Thank you, I was able to easily adjust the bracelet on my brand new Seiko Flightmaster. I did however invest in a quality Bergeon tool first.

Thank you mark long island. Craig from NJ very much appreciates your basic watch adjustment vids 😊
Hey i just want to say thank you for these how to watch videos! They are great.
great video love the closeups shots so I could see what was happening while using the vise style punch
Thank you so much for this excellent advice. You spared me a very frustrating afternoon yesterday. 👍
I bought a whole watch tool kit and didn't know what that gray box was used for. I am glad i watched this video. Thanks!
Thank you for making such an informative video! Watch resizing looked so complicated before I watched this video. Thanks for breaking it down so even a novice understands.
I love doing things on my own, and your video was amazing for an amateur.
This is one of the best or the very best...you tube videos on this topic.
Great video - I have just adjusted my watch bracelet with no problems!
Finally got a perfect fit on my Orient Ray II. Lovely watch, a bit heavy but it's my pride and joy rn
Excellent video.
I have taken links out before and often bent or broken the pin remover and presumed that I was doing it wrong. You make it look easy and I now feel more comfortable trying again. Many thanks

Awesome video man! You can save so much money servicing your own watches.
Great video. My watch and tool are both bought from you. $21 shipped to my door and now I don't have to go to a jeweler to size my watch. Thanks!
I am so glad to have found your video. Clear and easy instructions for a beginner like me.
Thank you! I had ordered a band from [website that has lot's of stuff] and they sent a kit. I was able to work out everything but how to get the pin back in. I was afraid I was going to strip the threads of the vise but you confirmed I was doing it properly. Thank you!
Mark you are a life saver
Here I was trying to decide what size Bergeon screwdriver to buy to adjust my bracelet
I'm so glad I watched this video!
Just had to go through this process dude you're a legend
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience! All your videos about resizing bracelets are the most comprehensive I’ve seen 👍🏻
You're a person sent by God!! Thank you. This really helped
I wasn't sure about the fatter pin end. Your video answered my question. Thanks Mark!
Thanks to your video I was able to confidently resize two of my watch bracelets!
Very informative video, made me size my first bracelet with ease! Thanks!
Mark, your videos are excellent, and I've learned a lot about watches in your demonstration. Thank you very much.
Hey Marc, great video, very helpful. It's the "screw" piece that can be most confusing, and you have certainly simplified it. Keep those instructional videos coming. Thanks again!
Thanks, glad you found it useful.
Great to hear, and what a wonderful way to keep a memory alive.
Perfect, glad it worked on you. Subliminal advertising? :) enjoy!
I’ve been alive 17 years and this is probably the first how to video which worked perfectly even though my watch was a different make 😂
I'm trying to leave a brief comment, but how?
Nice. Adjusted my 55 fathoms today thanks to this
Great videos Marc! The only thing I'd do differently is use a toothpick for the micro adjustments. It works perfectly and avoids scratches in case you slip. Keep up the good work!
Perfect idea!
Great Clip! Clear, to the point, well spoken! Thank you so much! You saved me money and granted me confidence! 🙌🏻🤩
Thanks soo much for this video. Got the featured tools and resized my bracelet like a boss😀. You videos are both informative and detailed.
Nice video. I was able to remove 2 links and tighten one micro adjustment on my new Invicta 5053 'Pepsi'. I like the idea of 'walking' the micro-adjuster pin, but I was not able to do that. I didn't lose the pin at least and did get the band finished. Thank you!
My respect is earned by this Man🤝🏾✌🏽
This explanation was on point. DIY rules
Your videos are always so helpful! Thank you!!
Great, thank you!
I din't even know those pins at the latch existed exactly what I needed!
