    Hi Alisan, here it is
When I’m done and in my grave
No more Ab will I crave
On my tombstone will be seen
Here’s lies the body of a diving machine
On the other side shall be wrote
A lot of saltwater went down this divers throat
At my funeral the preacher will say
If it hadn’t been for the north coast he’d be alive today
When my friends and family walk by
They’ll stop and look and ponder why
Deep down I think I know
Because I’ve found God’s favourite Abalone hole

Started diving for abs at age 18 near the big rock right in front of the Santa Cruz pier. Got hooked immediately. Continued diving until I moved from California that also coincided with the fish and games restrictions because of withering foot disease. Good run of almost 45 years.

Love the poem as a person who also loved diving abalone and spiny lobster until muscular dystrophy stopped all my sport ( Perlemoen in South Africa ) i also dived for the big ones and after 25 years had a couple of great secret spots off Cape Town that always delivered large ones. Our species didn’t get as big the one you hold but came close. Anyway i miss diving tremendously so am happy to see these sites diving, angling on you tube.

Any chance you could provide the poem text? I can't tell what he's saying in the last line... "abalone hole"? Thanks in advance :)
