  • The COMPACT-SERVO family of lenses are a new 4K Super 35mm lens category within Canon's Cinema EOS lineup combining the qualities from our EF lenses with the professional video features of our Cinema lenses, such as minimal focus breathing and parfocal zooming. These features, along with 4K optical performance and functionality such as integrated servo controls for zoom, iris and focus for electronic control from a camera, remote controller or optional ZSG-C10 Zoom Servo Grip make the COMPACT-SERVO lenses ideal for those seeking the traditional lens operational practices associated with professional cinematography.
The COMPACT-SERVO 18-80mm T4.4 EF and the COMPACT-SERVO 70-200mm T4.4 EF offer professional video functionality all at an affordable price, making them ideal for a wide range of video recording environments including documentary, cinema, wedding, news gathering and other video productions.

I own both of these - I just wish the remote port was positioned somewhere else. when used with the servo grip, you can't set the lens down, as the cable sticks out far below the lens. You can use a baseplate or similar (even with the C200), but this adds bulk (and cost) to my rig. And even with a baseplate/rods, it STILL gets in the way when mounting the lens, since the C200 has a twist-on mount like the DSLRs.
3:33 I am aware of the Zacuto Z-C18RC and own this as a workaround. It looks like it's used here as well (sneakily behind the operator's hand). It was an eye-watering $350 each, and since I wanted one for each lens, ouch.
However, nitpick aside, I would gladly shell out the dough again for "Mark II" versions of the lenses where this is fixed - and resell the others or keep them as backups. There isn't really any competition with this mount and in this price range.

great lenses. but much more (double that of 28-135) than the sony lenses for fs7.
any chance they will reduce prices?

Are these lenses adequate to shoot 4K on a 1DX Mark II?

Hi Pedro! These lenses are 4K-ready, so they'll more than live up to the task. We hope this answers your question!

Will this lens work on canon t6 reble

Hi there! Since it has an EF mount, you could technically use it with an EOS Rebel T6. However, the EOS Rebel T6 does not supply power for the servo unit. These lenses are optimally designed to be used with our Cinema EOS and Multipurpose cameras. We hope this helps!

"Familiar to cinematographers "- Yet you use a NONstandard thread, and make the iris and zoom rings too close to have follow focus motors next to each other. How do you miss THAT?
