Spot on, perhaps the majority of the difference between stills and cine glass is in the operation and the ergonomics. Sometimes people ask if they should switch to cine lenses and ultimately it comes down to whether the ergonomic benefits justify the expense.
Thank you for varied, detailed and beautiful content. YES, please do a video on Matte boxes and filter systems. I just noticed this video is a year old so I will look to see if you have done so in the past. I am now subscriber to you channel. THANK YOU
Thanks CVP for the good illustration of the differences pl mount points and the converter for wider choice of lens mounts L, E, EF, very informative and good luck with further events coming up.
I'm interested in the Rokinon Xeen CF but wonder if I'm better served with stickin with my EF Sigma ART Prime lenses or if I should consider MEIKE or DZO lenses instead
Oddly enough, I sold all of my cinema glass and bought up a bunch of Zeiss e mount stills glass. Having autofocus on cinema cameras made that a reality for me - one I never thought I'd see happen!
Do you know if the Canon cine servo 18-80mm t4.4 lens works with the Red Komodo X w/ AF enabled? Do the aperture controls show up on the Red KX screen?
My Portkeys monitor has broken twice now (died on set). It's actually spent more time being repaired than used, but both CVP and Portkeys refuse to take any responsibility. Would avoid both companies like the plague.
good explanation, maybe just few words about vintage lenses maybe welcome. i thinks we are many to use old good stills, primes, sometime tuned, with satisfaction. I use very few modern lenses, especially with af motors and sliding focus ring, that too bad.
One challenge with vintage lenses is that a lot of them focus breathe, and tbh it's often difficult to know how bad it is from a Google search because most reviews are just for still photos.
@@thatcherfreeman yes but in real world cinema use, you'll never pull focus across all focus range, but on a quite short range, so focus breathing is rarely a real issue.
@@beyondourarena2207 idk if I agree with that. It's not that you pull focus across the entire focus range, but that if you pull focus from something maybe halfway into the range to something close by (say, an actor walking across the room towards the camera, or between two actors sitting in a car, with the camera outside one of the side windows), a quick, sudden focus pull could make that amount of breathing fairly jarring, especially if the camera is on a tripod.
your video always sounds too silent, mix properly guys, just dont follow -24LUFS or LKFS, it suck only works for TV audio, just bump up the audio Cant even hear you guys
Yes do a video about matteboxes, in different price ranges
Video on Mattebox yes and also maybe a Teradek video, I want to get into the Teradek system but dunno where to start

Love this content! So educational and interesting! Could you do your next video on batteries, v-lock and Powering accessories, best practices etc
Very informative - looking forward to more videos on this topic.
Great stuff jake 👏👏👏 really informative
Great video. Would love to see a video of the vista primes. There aren’t too many of those around and I really like them
Outstanding video guys!
I would love a video about matte boxes and different filtration options!!!!!
Appreciate your presentation very much. Thank you!

That's a good idea. I m curious to see how you're gonna compare photo vs cine lenses.
CVP the MVP of camera videos
Will there be a full review on the Sumire set soon?
Facts, good stuff, what could be the name of that cine lens type of support that is mounted on the rods in this video?
could you make an image quality video only ? that would make a whole level of comparison 🙏🏼
Great video!
How can i put those cine lenses on my iphone 13 pro max?
Blu-tak, gaffa tape and superglue.
Would you do a video on SLR micro prime lens?
Main difference is image quality and micro contrast
Mattebox, yes please.

Hey Jacob, can you please email me your service job number via jake@cvp.com and I will look into this for you. Jake
