so can i presume its optically similar to the 70-200 f4 is usm L but with the cine functions?

wait...power zoom will work on a DSLR but autofocus won't?

I have the 18-80. I have hooked it up to a Canon 80D to see what happens. It will power and function with a DSLR but Stabilization, AF and Auto Iris will not work. You have to control those three manually. Still has a great image.
