FINALLY! Contents that don't necessarily speak egyptian to explain stuff. Loving your main channel growth through nearly a decade, loving this new chapter. A hug from Italy mate!
Yay, always great to find a video that isn't just a series of focus charts or one person shot in a studio environment, which tell you NOTHING about how a lens will fit into your workflow. Really enjoyed this.
Not sure if this has been mentioned but there's a firmwear update for the lens allowing you to get full function out of the lens on a camera with an RF mount like the r5 and c70. Also cropping into 4k means you can get rid of the vignetting
I'm relatively new to still and video cameras. Trying to soak up information. and you absolutely use some words I've never heard before, but I feel like you explained a little bit about them enough for it to make sense. Hoping to learn a lot by following this channel. Thanks so much for all of your content right now.
Great review - I have this on an URSA G2 and it never comes off now. They actually talk to each other pretty well and although limited to one-touch autofocus, it does it well. And yes, parfocal is amazing, I always use the subjects eyes now on full zoom to manually focus and can zoom out without any worries. The two together are pretty heavy for shoulder work though!
Awesome video Chase. Love this channel. I'm really into cinematography. Also jaw hit the floor figuratively when you scrolled through looking at the lenses. 28k good GOD that's likely more than the camera car itself.
Great video! Just got my Canon C70 and thinking of buying a 18-80. I have a 24-105 but I feel it’s not wide enough and not parfocal. Like you, it would stay on my camera 90% of the time. Waiting to see if Canon will bring us a RF Cine lens...A 16-70 2.8 would be great!
Can you make a video about good photo cameras for a 'decent' price. And maybe a video about lenses, when to use which lens in a certain situation? Love this channel btw, I'm also a tech and motorcycle fanatic, so more content for me to enjoy ;)
@@ChaseBueker what's a good starting point for those of us who are brand new to the photography/cinematic scene? Good options that will get us started in the hobby. Comparable to starting on a 250cc or 400cc bike, want to get my feet wet and something easy to learn on. Not looking to jump on a 1000 right away and drop a bunch of cash on a camera I don't understand or can't fully use yet.
@@ChaseBueker I agree with Taylor G, maybe something affordable that you can learn on & then as you get better with it buy better lenses? I’m assuming that’s standard for all cameras though from what I’ve seen with your C2W channel. Does the body of the camera make a big difference in quality?
If you're using auto focus, it really doesn't matter if the lens is par focal. For instance, the 70 - 200 with face tracking will track / compensate for slip as you zoom. Also, in my experience the Sigma 18-35 is a LOT closer to par focal. Setting the back focus might be critical.
Hello, have a good time... I have a Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K pro and a Canon CN-E18-80mm T4.4 L IS KAS S lens But the lens is not connected to the camera Please tell me what conversion you used to connect this lens to the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K pro? thank you
Very good solid video! Like so more people can find it! Although I'm not sure about the Parfocal-ness of the lens. I own 4 parfocal lenses, all manual focus. DZOFILM zoom set and Fujinon Zoom set. Some lenses you need to zoom in,focus and then it will keep the focus only if the subject is at the same spot, not sure if this Canon can actually keep the parfocal features using only manual focus while the subject is moving. This seems to be a perfect lens for documentary with the need of pulling focus yourself. Although the T4.4 is a huge bummer,I know, the range you're getting is absolutely insane but I would give 30mm on the end for a T2.9 aperture . Now if you're using it on some crazy canon Camera like the C300MKii that has amazing iso capabilities then it shouldn't be a problem. What do you think about the lens weight? Can it be all day on the camera without a lws Support? Seems like a lightweight lens. Unfortunately most of my lenses I wouldn't let them hanging from the mount.
I love these videos. I would really like to see the difference between the fancy C200 camera you are using on the full car gear, and a budget camera (let's say the m50 with a kit lens) and a gimbal. As much as I would like to get that set up, it'll be a long, long while before I could afford the sexy set up you have lol
Great video. I hope you can help me with my problem. This lens all of the sudden has stopped working on autofocus. It's only allowing me to work on Manual focus. I've attached all other Canon lenses and they work just fine on AF. Is there a setting that I have accidentally hit or change on the camera that would allow this to happen? I've searched on the internet and there is no explanation that I could find for this. It happens with or without the ZSG-C10 Zoom Grip. Thanks in advance.
First thing I would try is switch all the settings on the lens to other settings and try that. I've also noticed this lens acts weird if we use it on ANYTHING but our C200. Did the autofocus stop working on a camera that it used to work on previously?
Could you please comment on the smoothness of the servo zoom? Does it have a similar smoothness of a broadcast B4 lens? Is there a compatible zoom demand controller? Thanks!
@@TwatMcGee Thank you for your reply. What happens if I use the 0.71 adapter instead ? (Because 0.71 adapter is better for me to get real full frame size in everyday shooting at work).

Can't seem to sell it tho as no one wants it less than retail unless its $800-1000 off :/ *EDIT: Previous user never came back so still available for $4200 via Paypal or $3950 via Zelle (I continuously record no cuts when I pack and ship it as proof)*

Super interested in this as well

It sure was. Gunna take it out to do camera car stuff to see how that looks at some point!

How's the variable zoom? Is it smooth at any speed. Are the zooms in steps or does it go with pressure. Can you zoom in and out very slowly 🐌
