Thanks for making these Pro-grade youtube videos. Not everyone can afford to shoot on this type of stuff, but it is amazing to dream without feeling like I need to blow through my credit!
Yo man, I really love this type of content of yours. This is not just a youtube video, this is some arri bts/documentary stuff. so much to learn. thank you so much man, really appreaciate it.
This Trinity op is so cool, these people are the unsung heroes of the film industry. These people you never hear about or know their names that film, op, color, edit all the big names.
I don't know a single word they were talking about. I'm new to photography and videography, but I really enjoyed watching this video. There is just something about watching really advance and high tech camera gears that is so relaxing.
THIS is why I watch RUclips. Loves these kinds of videos. - Thank you Potato Jet for sharing. If you ever get the chance I think most of us would love to see something on Panavision cameras or lenses :)
Hold on! Around 12:50 he tells us LPL will be on all future cameras including the announced S35 Arri in 2021 -does this mean there could be an arri-designed full-format to s35 speedbooster coming with the camera? Combined with these T2,8-zooms this setup would be nuts for getting shallow depth-of-field and filming in available-low-light. I still hope the new S35-cam will be an revisited Amira, just lighter, native 4K, still great ergonomics and audio. The Amira still is a great camera, but after the years it could use an hardware update (for example native 4K for Netflix productions etc).
I preferred the interview format with him and you in a room sitting at a table. It allowed for a deeper conversation without distractions and gave a better look at the actual lens. YMMV
LOVEEEE those videos gene :) and having Art as a "friend" me jellous :D also that steadicam trinity guy "oh i just shot the weekend" :O and that crane dude? he just shots the matrix BOOM :D keep them coming mate :)
Just got a look at these in the UK - was amazed at how light the 65-300 was. Compared to similar lenses like the angenieux 24-290 - it feels like a feather.
@@capbat1 Except broadcast lenses turn up the crazy one more notch. Since you cannot change lenses on a live broadcast, they're designed to cover pretty much any focal length you can imagine.
Hey Jonas, what's up! I literally just finished watching one of your videos, and just before that I was watching Trent's newest vlog with you in it lol
Oh!! My! My! The words expensive will not be enough to qualify the price of that Lense. Can't buy it for now, but I love to dream it, lol. Thanks for the video it was cool. PS: I can't wait for for you to hit 1 Million Subscribers, Goodluck!
In a world obsessed with technicalities & lab performances, I love how he describes we don't shoot technical. Would like to try this out someday & own an ARRI cinema camera.
13:03 "I've seen images from Signature Primes on a 9K camera" wait what? Which camera is he talking about? And have you noticed he said that after teasing up new Arri Super 35 camera for 2021?
You should do another deep dive interview with Art or make it a series. I feel like he has a lot of knowledge that should be shared and he explains things real well.
What did you shoot the exterior scenes with the crane owner? That image looked super crispy! Are these ARRI lenses available for purchase or rental only? How about a Head-To-Head comparison with the ARRI Alexa and the Millennium DXL2?
I want to see you use these lenses on a gh5 or a bmpcc4k, just for the "hey it's the glass that counts not the body" then do a comparison between different glass on the same bodies.
The way you talk about Arri releases, is the way I feel about almost everything you get your hands on to review....
He really is excited about everything Arri. Even his gf is named (C)Arri!
that comment.👌
@@herrreinsch It all makes sense now!

😁
That was, unexpected...
"Techno cranes are great for social distancing!"
"We want to eliminate breathing!"
*These Arri guys are up to something*
Shhhh, the A.L.E.X.A's are listening to our every word... *tinfoil hat moment*
🤣🤣🤪
Arri written backwards reads Skynet
*me with $20.56 in my bank account* : I think I'm gonna skip out on this one, looks inconvenient
Hah
$20!! I only have $11 😂
Me with $0 lol
Nm
I have $1.15 lol
Was waiting for the arri master zoom lens giveaway at the end... 🙈
I used the ARRI Alura 18-80 a few weeks ago, it's really good and made me appreciate zoom lenses more.
I'd love to try these Signature Zoom lenses.
Watching Gene at ARRI HQ is like watching a potato grow when suspended in water.
Thanks for making these Pro-grade youtube videos. Not everyone can afford to shoot on this type of stuff, but it is amazing to dream without feeling like I need to blow through my credit!
Hey Arri, keep inviting Gene out to see your lenses and stuff! These videos are so fun to watch!
Arri, pushing the tech to a new level. Thanks for the inside look at the new designs.

Awesome, you are inside the core of ARRI literally, the Zooms just released this morning!
I literally just finished watching the ARRI sort before watching this, and didn't expect to see a behind the scenes video like this! SWEETNESS!
I could never afford such a Cinema lens or camera, yet I still watch this video for the admiration of the gear.
Only thing that we really need is Jesus! 😊

Loved to see Art again on this channel
channel is top notch when you do this type of video, amazing stuff with big time industry of cinema gears
These cinema camera videos teach me bits about more normal cameras. Thanks Gene! (Also, entry: done)
When Gene makes videos like this they are production quality I love it! You are talented my friend skill level 10
Honest explanation of the limitation of variable focal length lenses . I will we could have seem more footage taken with the lenses.
Your videos get better with each episode.
this Arri guy is really smart about optics. Great vid.
Nice to see Art Adams back. :)
That crane shot of the Arri logo was amazing!

Very exclusive first hands on preview !
Welp it costs a kidney, a childs body, a soul, pixie dust, and blackmagic
Speaking of blackmagic what are your thoughts on the new 12k camera
12k as in resolution ?????
@@DeltaSquad4K both
better than linus' segways atleast.
I think people watch these videos thinking you buy this equipment. Very few people own this gear, it's mostly rented.

This looks like a great new entry for hobbyists, thanks potato!

Imagine putting that lens on something like an EOS R. Tiny camera, MASSIVE lens
Search up the broadcast lens on the gh4 video! The perfect example of this

@Northern Productions Thank you so much!
Yay more ART ADAMS!
Dang that is a big lens. Great video man!
So passionate explaining that lens .
what song did you use for the first montage at 1:04?
I could watch this for hours, it’s like GoT.
It’s amazing what people are able to do with this gear

Plot twist...the hippy with the crane taunts, "mine's bigger than yours!!" to Trinity guy every time they see each other.
Soo cool to see the new arri lenses 😱
This... is the moment I've been waiting for.
Thanks for the content man! You really help me in my filmaking carrer
Gene loves Arri because it rhymes with Kari lol. Great video, huge fan of yours man!
best thumbnail in camera youtube history...
Nice to see some pro stuff here as well as consumer level. I’ve learned a lot from your channel and gotten a ton out of my Sony A7ii because of it!
I'm so proud of you! Keep up the amazing work!!
12:55 Did you catch that? A camera next year! and super 35!
Still doesn’t look nearly as big as an IMAX camera on Hoyte van Hoytema’s shoulder.
13:05 he mentions a 9k camera... We know Arri is coming out with a new camera, and I don't know of any current 9k cameras...
@NoneYes, but that lens covers full frame, not any larger. Its certainly not covering 2x the image circle, it would have to be significantly larger.
None He mentions one camera “that’s coming on” that’s gonna have a S35 sensor when Gene mentions the mount
I learned so much about lenses from these vids
Highly unlikely I'll ever use something like this in my life, yet I'm completely entranced by the technology.
Untouchable level
can’t wait to use this for zoom calls
"ARRI" should always be said with a Tim Allen growl! Great video!
I love watching videos about things I won't ever afford in my life.
Heyyy Art is back!
I religiously listen to Roger & James Deakins podcast and I am sure he's gonna be stoked with this one.
And to think they shot 1917 on a prime. Blows my mind.
13:03 "I've seen images from Signature Primes on a 9K camera" wait what? Which camera is he talking about? And have you noticed he said that after teasing up new Arri Super 35 camera for 2021?
Yo since you were obviously on set and everything for the movie, did they use these while filming UP?

Yeeesss Arri video😋
Other youtubers “this video sponsored by square space”, Jet “this video brought to you by Arri”. Mic drop!
This is the best lens with nd filter i ever saw
Finally a lens that suits my needs and I affordable
I’m wondering if sam uses the sony fx9 and they are filming at the arri’s house...
Considering this is just a sponsored ad... It's still incredibly cool to see the tools of film making... 😁
Bro, That Is insane 😄 Love your channel

I would love to use this Arri zoom lens at my kids soccer practice. Is there an adapter to connect it to my phone?

Ahh yes, the perfect vlog setup.
it"s that Davince Resolve that they are using at 4:01 to color grade that shoot there??
That’s the dit probably making dailies
I think someone mentioned below, but yeah Gene, what's your thoughts on the BM Ursa 12K?
All good. Curious if you have shot Cooke SP3 lenses as they are affordable.
I would like to know what kind physical workout per week those operators need to do to maintain such heavy equipment... 1:16
Nice To See Shooting location feels like home
so do you have your Arri Unit Bag Large II if not they are hard to find in the USA. Great video Thank you

Are we getting a new Arri camera next year?
Damn ARRI makes some cool stuff.
This interview style is 👌🏻. Gene, do more like this! F¥@king mint bud!
I thought the ultimate zoom lens was the hubble telescope or a telescope in general 🔭 haha.
Isn't that a prime? The focal length doesn't change, therefore it isn't a zoom.
Izzie not necessarily, some do... depends on the type.
You can change then with focal reducers too.
Hahah, you little goof ball
This is the most “on brand” comment I’ve ever seen 😁
Maybe I missed it but have you picked winners for that music bed video competition you did a few months back?
