We hope this video made you a little wiser :) In this episode we made a production van: ruclips.net/video/co4e8RaavHQ/видео.html And in this episode, we shot an adventure film in the snowy mountains of Norway: ruclips.net/video/laZEVoPlB-U/видео.html
Magnificent. The skating was beautiful. Lenses looked good, but not sure I'd stop using my non-cine lenses. I just didn't see enough of a difference to change my mind. But the skating was brilliant. Very talented, especially while dealing with someone skating around her with a camera. She always had her eyes on the lens while doing crazy tricks. Just... bravo. Another great VJUS video. Edit: Just got to the Northbound part, which is my companies name! Haha, love that. (Note: This is not a shoot for us, just thought the coincidence was fun)
I still love my Sigma 18-35. Bought it because of you Anders! I love it so much, It just look so nice to me together wiht a Metabones Speedbooster and my GH5. Inly problem I have is the focus-ring do not stop completely, it has some resistance at the end, but you ca nstill move it. Not so good for my follow-focus, but that is the only complaint :-)
Love this. I've subbed as I love your whole approach to youtube and filmmaking. Good enjoyable content thanks! I have 4 Meike MFT cines for my P4K and they're incredible for the money. Recently I bought a Zeiss Milvus 50mm superspeed (f1.4) with the view to moving over to them. I love the Zeiss look and I will be able to use them on any future camera I get (maybe an URSA etc) but I'm still impressed with how easy and well made the Meikes are and how good the image is for the money...
As always you and your crew create great content that benefits the community. I am actually a bit jealous you have the 105 ... it isn't out yet. ;) But yea I have the rest of the set for independent small projects that don't have the budget for the bigger rentals. But overall, Meike did a great job for the cost with these new set of Full Frame glass.
11:05 the Nano fell =D But a great video guys, obviously! And shame on you, not knowing, you have a hardworking ice-skating editor! The mini portrait movie turned out very nice!
Congrats to your editing Ice acrobat. Don`t know anybody in the world, who got one. Yes, Matteo Bartoli is right. For this price, this is more, what you can expect. I own the mft kit for the BMPCC 4K . Even they are well built and have a considerable look. Thinking of buying three of the full frames for the BMPCC 6K.
Friend, I’m completely amazed with your shots. I’m from Brazil. Could you help me a bit. I’m planning to shot a short using a Ultra Star 2x plus a Rápido 16v … I will use a gh6 and some good FD lens. Do you found that diopter single focus worth or it can deteriore the images?
What a well thought out and well executed review. Entertaining and informative. In a head to head comparison, the Meike lenses looked a bit better, but the difference is not huge for a commoner like me.
When color grading how much does it master if the lens is warmer or cooler? As in how much does the lens tone reproduction matter when all the colors can be adjusted later
Exactly what I was thinking. To me it seems like an excuse for the Meke lens losing information. You can always reduce saturation in post, but you can't add real information that was lost as accurately. There is no such thing as a lens with too much saturation.
If you're recording in a decent codec you can always adjust the temperature later. So in my opinion it's not as important as the level of details or contrast. But still, it's really nice to get it the way you want in camera.
Hi guys, amazing video! Quick question about meike... which mount you have it because we saw that you used those lenses on Canon and on Sony also? How you did that? PL mount? EF to E adapter? :)
Sorry, I couldn't follow some of the lens review. I was too distracted from the beautiful performance on the ice! It was simply mesmerizing to see such amazing skill and talent captured so beautifully. Great job!
Wow!! I completely forgot why I’m watching this because she’s so good. Would love to hear why she’s editing instead of skating or if she’s actually perusing both 😁.
Hello, Which sigma is this on BMPCC do you recommend the DG or DC and what are the differences between both for the BMPCC 6K Pro specifically? Thank you
Hi Film Riot, please I would like to know your 3 sony lens recommendation and also 3 canon lens for shooting interviews and B rolls. I am a beginner and i find that most of my works are shot on canon or sony cameras.. thanks
So the most lovely focus / aperture rings that you will never touch because these lenses will mostly be used with moterized controls hahaha. I totally get it though Andy. The first time you go from a plastic kit lens to a nicely oiled metal one. I went from my 14-42 lumix lens to a asahi pentax 50mm and the quality of that vintage metal lens was just stunning.
Amazing video! I have the Sigma 18-35 and bought it for video. But seeing what it can actually, DO and being compared to a legit cine lens set impressed me. I guess, I’ll have to really step up and see what it really can do!
Hello Andyax!, I am a cinematography learner and I enjoy and learn a lot from your videos on RUclips. I bought a Blackmagic Ursa mini Pro 4.6k G1. I am a beginner who wants to start making cinematographic videos and I am looking for a good but cheap lens, since I don't have much of a budget. What lens do you recommend that costs less than $500 to start making good films?
OOF that jump turn move (sorry i don't know the name) even nailed than my ex!!!! i first time tried meike product 2 years ago and never ever turn down their product!! i own 24mm T2.2 and 24mm F1.8
Thanks :) Btw. It’s not Toronto, but close: I made this when I was in Montreal maaany years ago (from 2:06): ruclips.net/video/j-bDDzQc5k0/видео.html We also visited Sudbury in around 17:00 in the video.
Hey Andyax, can you help me? I'm buying a camera for making cinematic short films. Panasonic Gh5 ii or S5.. Any suggestions? My only priority is to be able to get 10bit cinematic footage. If you have any other cameras in mind, please do suggest.
I’m in the process of transitioning to full time Cine lenses. Manual focus on a Cine lenses will make you abandon any autofocus system ie canon and Sony included. When you have a client watching your shoot from a distance, the least thing you want is autofocus jumping here and there. It’s simply unprofessional and personally, I hate explaining to clients and having to redo scenes because of autofocus
Hello! I like the comarsion very much, im planning to buy the set of primes after the sigma art zoom lenses. I think that the meike primes are the next step in film production comparing to standard foto zoom lenses. Greetings from Poland :)
great video, i think every film enthusiast strive to one day own their own set of Cine lens.. Could i ask if anyone in here know what kind of backdrop they are using? Is that a Green screen? Or an actual texture backdrop?
In our studio, in Frankfurt, Germany, we either work with the DZOfilm or Tokina cine zooms, depending on how much character we want in our image. I really like the image and the precise controls, but when we bought them I totally underestimated the weight factor - so we end up using stills lenses (Sigma Art Zooms) very often since we mostly shoot with a small crew. If anybody here is thinking about investing in cine lenses, I would strongly suggest thinking about this factor. I know that most people (definitely I would count myself as one of them) are biased towards more professional looking gear, even though, they work on projects where this kind of gear hinders them to get the best results: please carefully this about investing in this kind of equipment. Love U!
Nice! I don’t think, i need cinema lenses, unless there some big movies projects, where the zoom must be flames smooth. And if you are mastering, in color grading, you can have it without the cinema lenses in general.
Grading has very little to do with the benefits of using cine lenses. Sets are usually uniform where the gears are (makes it easier to change lenses when you use things like follow focus), they usually have very little focus breating, uniform filter size for sets, non-clicky aperture changes, and the list goes on.
Why would you shoot with A1 when you had c300 mk2, with DGO sensor the ice skating image would have looked much better. A1 doesn’t even come close to dynamic range of c300 mk2
We hope this video made you a little wiser :)

I'm still so impressed by the ice skating sequence! Juni Marie's skills are incredible.
Watching this brought such a feeling of light, love and fun. Uplifted my day today. What a great team and what a blessing. Love you guys!
Loving the regular releases lately keep it up!
Ah, the OG theme song. Sooooooo good. Inspiring even. Missed it last episode.

Doing what you love with a team of passionate people is the best thing there can be! 🎉
Oh shit this is gold the love and humor you put into your videos are unmatched
13:50 that is one of the coolest concepts I've seen! Can't believe I've never heard of this before!
Juni Marie is amazing with the iceskating. Wow.

duuude! the music! i felt just like thje first time watching harry potter! GREAT EDITING AND AWESOME CREATIVITY !! thanks for this content
Ice skating clip was just awesome! Cool reviews, man!
I'm very happy with my Leica R vintage lenses...but this kit of cine lenses from Meike looks great! I should try them.
Thanks for the video guys!
Leitz r lenses are great. M are better wides.
I was just thinking about these lenses. I plan to pair then with a Ursa Mini Pro 12k. As my setup for short films.
Juni Marie’s ice skating skills are amazing! Wow!
Awesome video! What is the song you're using during the skating test? I love it!
Those two lenses in your thumbnail are the first two I bought, caught my attention!
Loving the more uploads andyax..Do you mind making a video on how to DOP dialogue scene??..That would be amazing

I'd like to know whether cine lens are manual lenses or they also come motorised for autofocus?
@@nitishaukhajah8955 Most if not all Cine Lenses are Manual with 0.8 pitched gears machined on them for a number of FIZ (focus) motors to run them.
@@nitishaukhajah8955 These Meike FF Cine lenses are full Manual with 0.8 gears for FIZ motors. Typical for most geared up cine lenses.

11:05 the Nano fell =D But a great video guys, obviously! And shame on you, not knowing, you have a hardworking ice-skating editor! The mini portrait movie turned out very nice!
Do they come in x mount?
Very interesting video, thank you for all your hard work with it.
So from 25 miles north of London, be lucky stay safe.
I still can't wait to see the mountain film!

Brother that ice skate shoot was poetry

The outer diameter of these lenses is 90mm unlike the more popular 95mm OD lenses. How do I use a matte box like from Polar Pro Basecamp or Tilta?
Hi guys, amazing video! Quick question about meike... which mount you have it because we saw that you used those lenses on Canon and on Sony also? How you did that? PL mount? EF to E adapter? :)
We invested in a set 20 years ago. They have paid for themselves with ease.
Wow! What a awesome ice skater. She is highly skilled. Great capture incredible ice skating skills
Sorry, I couldn't follow some of the lens review. I was too distracted from the beautiful performance on the ice! It was simply mesmerizing to see such amazing skill and talent captured so beautifully. Great job!

She's really good. Thank you for making this video. I really enjoyed it. I would like to request a tutorial video on Feiyutech Scorp Pro
So if you buy a black magic filter to soften your image and post production warm up color how much money did you save
I wish you have compared focus breathing between the lenses of the set

Why this lens is not for PL mount, and why your camera don't have PL mount ?
Great work lads. Thanks for the review!
Hi! I recommend you cut to the chase. I thought this was extremely slow paced for an educational video.
i love your channel so much and ive been learning so much during watching your videos
Really appreciate this video, I’ve been looking into purchasing those exact lenses!

Amazing video🙏 and perfect skating clip 🙌
I just bought the whole meike set yesterday and didn't see the 105mm. How did you get it?
Background music is very good how you get your own music ar purchase
I bought a 16mm Meike MFT lens and it is awesome.
She actually a really good skater .wow
OOF that jump turn move (sorry i don't know the name) even nailed than my ex!!!!
i first time tried meike product 2 years ago
and never ever turn down their product!!
i own 24mm T2.2 and 24mm F1.8
Fabulous. Talented beyond applause. Come on. More more
Does cine lens comes motorised for autofocus or its always manual focus with focus puller?
How are they for focus breathing? 😊
Honestly, I love you guys and everything you stand for. Love from Toronto!

Great Video! Great Review!
So, which Look do you prefer? The colder one with more contrast (Sigma) or the warmer one with less contrast? :)
Just a quick question, what app did you use on the iPad during the commercial?
7:54 oh man, your editor is amazing!! (sorry I did not understand her name when you spoke it)
The 105 isn't even available on their website yet.
I don't really think that a cine lens is necessary for small/medium productions, but for bigger ones, it is nice to have
I’m in the process of transitioning to full time Cine lenses. Manual focus on a Cine lenses will make you abandon any autofocus system ie canon and Sony included.

Great story telling!
Video 3 of asking: What editing softwares do you use?
What do you think of Samyang cine lens?
Is the scorp pro the new standard or should I invest in the crane 3s?
What brand is that field monitor you are using on your A Cam? :)
I am at that stage now where I want to start upgrading my "cine" glass from Rokinon to Meike for sure. I'd love to get a 24 or 35 to run on my BMP6k
Rokinons aren't bad! Watch the film jams channel review of them. I like mine. I don't think I'll be buying Meikes
I used those lenses too and they performe excellent
The ice skater/editor was amazing.

Great Video again!
is that for crop?
What about play in mount? Any movement when pulling focus?
Yes, there was a little bit of movement. We stabilized it on the commercial shoot by attaching a velcro strap to the rods and the lens.
is the Meike set on EF mount?
11:04 Ouch, that Nucleus Nano! :o
11:06 RIP tilta follow focus knob...

The production value in this RUclips video....... Subbed. Shared. Liked. I need to donate too!!? 😂
