Yesss! Really exciting, beautiful office :) 15 years later: Vjus just purchased an entire neighbourhood in Oslo to house their 6000 employees and Hollywood movie production studios :D What I love the most about this series is: you are taking risks, not crazy risks but still bold steps into uncertain territory. And you are being rewarded by being successful, then we get to enjoy watching the process. Keep it up and good luck for the future!
Haha, thanks for the comment :D I actually love that we are a small group. It's like a gang of friends. If we pass 10 people I think it will be quite different. Then it turns more into a corporate company in a way, if that makes sense? I don't want that. I think...
Well, life change all the time, so maybe I will change my mind later. Time will tell, and we will off course show it to you guys :)
So far, all the risks we have taken has been just positive. It truly shows that taking risks towards something you have passion for, is a good idea.
@@Andyax I do understand where you are coming from and that you love the friendly vibe. To take your worry about growth away a little bit though: I work in a different industry (IT) but I worked in small companies that felt very corporate and also on large companies (300+ employees) where you had fun in the office, went out for activities with your colleagues after work was done, played Mario Kart in a meeting room, those kinds of things. If the core of the company and its people have a good vibe and are passionate, even if you grow, you will be able to retain most of it.
With growth, especially regarding the headcount, there are inevitably new structures needed. For example: you will need someone in finance and in HR eventually. But you can still retain the passion, the vibe and the core of what makes your business so unique. Explosive growth can destroy this, but your gradual growth is the ideal basis for keeping everything you value in Vjus intact even if you become a larger company in the future :) No matter which path you choose, I wish you the best of luck and I'm sure, despite the pitfalls on your path, you will succeed in the end.

So exciting! It's my goal as well to have a studio of my own and offer it to my community of filmmakers. Quick suggestion - wouldn't it make more sense to have the equipment room closer to the studio? Essentially just switching it for the meeting room?

Thank you guys, so much, for your behind the scenes look at building your studio! It is insightful and inspiring! We are building our own and curious about the paint you used on the cyc wall and flooring? How has it held up?
Extremely cool. I will be doing the same thing, but moving from America to Europe - the move will be so hard! But wonderful. I do have a big question - how will you deal with outside noise? My biggest concern with moving to a studio in a city is the noise from traffic, construction, people outside, etc. You said this is in the center of Oslo so I’m sure you have to deal with this, too. What is your solution?
"If we have not used it once, we're not going to use it in the next three years." That's a good rule to use when figuring out what to discard, but then I always have the "what if I need it later?" 😅 That's why I have so much old junk.
Hello Andyax. This is so inspiring; I would also like to get where you have gotten with your beautiful space. I am passionate about film and are coming up with a studio space, is it advisable to make it a film and photography studio for quick money? or should I put all my time and energy into film and only film? will photography derail me from achieving my videography vision or will it boost me? All in all, I am very passionate about videography.
