- There is a modern Trans Am Racing car on Forza Motorsport, and with a 900 HP V8 and hardly any weight they are one of the trickiest and scariest race cars we have used yet.

The Watkins Glen race I did amazing in got cut from the video, no ;-;
longbow it’s ok asleast we know you did amazing :)
Maybe because Alex didn’t do as well?… just saying. J/K

Omg anti-Longbow propaganda
Uh huh. Sure it did 👈😎👈
I’m a corner marshal in America. My favorite weekends are SVRA and Trans-Am. RC treats the flaggers well wherever he goes, the series race clean and fair so it’s fun to watch, and this game doesn’t do the sound of these cars any justice. Regardless of the track and where you are, you know exactly when the green flag is thrown by the scream of 10 of those engines.
Fun Fact: all Trans-Am replays are put online.
Bonus Fun Fact: the SCCA GT1 class uses identical rules and regulations as the Trans-Am class
If you guys want to watch more Trans Am, they livestream (almost) all their races on RUclips.
I'd be up for watching a bit of this IRL. Mind pointing me in the right direction?

Thanks both ✌🏻
I would love to see T10 add some more modern TA cars! Would certainly make the challenger less of an oddball on the car roster, that's for sure!
Theres a leaked list on gtplanet and it has T10 adding the camaro, mustang and cadillac cts trans ams from 2017. Eventually
@@halow4 Well heck, good to know! Will be lookin' forward to the possibility of them droppin' then if they're on the cards! :o
I detuned my T/A challenger to 800 its pretty nice...
I’d love for them to not categorize them as GT (along with V8 supercars).
I actually really enjoyed these things!! very sketchy but they relied on driving with some slip angle, which is how I like my cars to drive anyway :)
Yeah you were quick especially in the second race looking at the laptimes
your laptimes were bonkers fast.
Goddamn, they made a Challenger ever wider- °~°
As the proud owner of a challenger with less than 1/3 the power, I’m here for w i d e challenger
@@lastweekslasagna1699 Don't own one, but couldn't have said it better myself!
In Australia they run their own Trans-Am Series. The rules have to be pretty much the same. They use the same chassis.
Most of them are made by one of the premier short-track oval racing car builders. Howe Racing Enterprises, in Beaverton Mich. A guy named Buddy Bennett, who drove at the local short track I pretty much grew up at, started running his car in SCCA GT-1 amateur races. This was in the late 70's. Even though the chassis was quite different, it was approved for GT-1 and Trans-Am. It turned out to be a mid-pack car right off the bat.
Once they went to offset chassis in oval track racing, he had to decide if he wanted to stay a front runner at the oval track, or be less than average in both places. But he did start something. Since the oval car frames were cheaper, guys were starting to use them with some changes to make them more competitive in GT-1. Michigan based Trans-Am teams started to build their own using the oval track style as a starting ground. Roush Racing, Paul Gentelosi, Randy Ruhlman, just to mention a few. That's how Howe Racing got into building them since they were still developing, and building a non-offset chassis, for lesser expensive classes, along with the new offsets.
The first generation were like the AUS Supercar Masters that they still run today. Cars built off of the road car platform. The second generation was as I mentioned above. Body on frame cars. The third generation car is what they are running today. A Hybrid of oval track racing base, with road racing geometry, electronics, and such.
I did a lot of work over the summer with my internship and I got to work with Trans Am and attend some of their events. Really glad to see a TA car in forza. They should definitely add TA2 since it is by far the most popular class
I enjoyed racing this monster of a car a lot :)
It must have been nice to get two wins, especially since it was your birthday.
@@matgee8892Thank you, but it was ABSOLUTELY not my birthday!
Man, I came really late to the party. So late in fact, it's your next birthday already! 🎉
Yes, Ta is a cool class. 850+hp and 2800lb. It’s faster than gt3 cars and cooler imo. Also no assists of any kind
i feel like GT3s might be faster in corners, better aero and all that, but yeah the TA class (that seem to be all powered by the same engine?) is most likely faster in a straight line
@@deadlyviper_ Yeah, Ta have simple aerodynamics but overall in a lap and race pace Ta are faster. Even in places like limerock park Ta are/can be faster ( it’s nearly all older gentlemen drivers in Ta )
These things aren't comparable to gt3s. They're full on race cars. Short of the body panels they don't have a single bit of road car in them.
It may be a silhouette car but I'd argue it might be cheaper and more 'grassroots'. I'd argue that whatever GT3 cars share with road cars still allows them to be full on race cars, maybe more so than trans am, since they have manufacturer support@@kantina4765
@@kantina4765 Is a TCR car a race car? Is a formula 1 car a race car? Is an unlimited time attack car a race car? All are race cars even though the basis and rules are different. Also people compare formula 1 and NASCAR stock cars all the time. It’s just a fun comparison.
afaik Oli likes a good power build, so no wonder they're quick on this one
Road America is one of ny favourite tracks, it's kind of like Spa for big heavy American cars. Very fun in this game with the little Formula Mazdas.
this vid just lead to me learning about the modern trans am series rules, love the car variety they have, never thought I'd see gt3s racing mustangs and challengers that look like that 😂😂😂
19:07 Gliscor playing goddamn Outrun here 😅
I've personally seen one of these dodge challenger T/A cars, it was being dynoed and it sounded like a 4-cylinder. Come to find out, it was using a dodge Nascar engine with 180 degree headers. Cool stuff.
Fun fact: This car has a restrictor decrease and increase option. With a touch of ballast and a added restrictor increase the car can drop a class down to S class. I havent raced it in S class trim yet but plan to see how it works on twisty tracks.
Fun fact: I’ve met 2 time Trans Am champion Chris Dyson. He is on the advisory board for a program I graduated from 2 years ago
When I hear Alex say "Wooyeeee...!" then I know immediately he's getting wheel spin.
When racing with the guy I race with, night races are the only way we have been able to go multiple races with nobody dropping out or the game crashing. It’ll be nice when T10 works on stability some more
Alex has finally started to play with Bricc Chan
The TA cars are awesome! Love your videos!

Nice set up of races, and nice to see a Trans Am doing its bit for racing! Whatever did happen in that first race though - that car was like an unwanted obstacle for two laps.
I have quite a few hours driving the Shelby Trans Am thing that was in Project Cars 2. Brutal vehicle, I like them a lot
I cant wait until T10 adds more TA cars. Apparently eventually they are adding the camaro, mustang and cadillac trans am cars from 2017.
Hopefully they'll add Tommy Kendalls 1990 Chevy Beretta
@@T.N.D.88 yeah a boost for the 90s trans am cars would be dope too. We already have 3 of them with 1 more coming in November
Clean racing is something I wish to do in online racing for once on FM, yet I have to level up some of my cars even be competitive, even though I prefer to use most of the race ready cars like the BT62, DTMs, GT3, LMP, Group C, and LMDH, the Cadillac is a wonder to drive, I can't wait to try the Acura, even though I much prefer the Cadillac over ther Acura.
i cant wait to drag race this car
good vid bet that be fun to drive
Hopefully we will get some more of these cars. Preferably with lights tho.
The brakes are bias towards the rear end in the real transam cars to pull the front wheels down to give you better turn in.
Trans Am Series has a RUclips channel, and they post all their races for free. I highly recommend checking it out. Fantastic racing.
I am not really a fan of how the late 1990's, 2000's and early 2010's versions of the American classics (Mustang, Charger, etc) look - specifically the height x width proportion - but I like how this one looks
I love this fast pace stuff it would be awesome if you guys did group c cars or the classic DTM cars
@Soulfarmer69 ooh okay I look forward to that
Try this on the brakes- 53% front balance based on the vehicle’s weight 😊
the TRANSAM Quattro would be great
They need to seperate Gtx and Trans Am cars Along with V8 supercars and Gt3
The liveries aren't loading, the replays are broken....
Boy it's almost as if this is a Forza Motorsport 7 bugs hall of fame
As someone who's watched a hell of a lot of trans am racing in person here in Australia, something about this car looks off in Forza. Is it like an older model or something? The challenger looks different irl to me
I think - THINK - these are TA1 cars, whereas TA2 class cars run in Australia
@@guyincognito8019ah that makes sense! Thanks
when did they add VGT into forza!?!
only race devision i know that dareing to do 240+ mph
Hey Alex, do you still have your Plymouth Fury with the 383? I just picked up a 68 Fury III with the 383 and recently remembered that you have one too.
@02:05 ish Car uses 103 laps worth of fuel in one corner.
you didn't set it to Rain, but let's be honest.
It's Forza...
I find the lack of illuminating brake lights really disconcerting
How was that corner cut @4:11 not a penalty for ‘P1eased0nteatme’….
We don't run these races with penalties, but that line is within the track limits determined by the game :) you can see Alex takes a very similar line on the first lap (1:20)
@@p1eased0nteatmeahh that makes sense
The brake tune on this car almost makes me wonder if the car was tuned for the 'chuck and hope' approach of driving, which i very much like because racing lines are a suggestion to me and i take turns as hard as possible.
Is this being played on Xbox or PC?
the video is cropped left and right at full screen
Why don’t they just put goodwood in a for a game already?
Forza*^. Could make the time attack hill climb a special event in a specific car or something. They could do something cool with it
If you'd lear how too tune you would be able to control less stable cars. @FailRace
I thought you, and many other people, said this game was crap? Why are you still on this?
Alex does still have bills to pay, and atm Forza is at least bringing the views to do so, even if it is useless
Hey
that crash with blakey looked soo good and realistic , i liked it . Also what are you calling zombie? Cause I can't put the name on what you're saying,i was a bit confused , it was the same thing with Amy and Leathercap at first .
I think he said they were called Evie or Eva
i knew something was up with him calling for his cat while passing :))@@Finnerzzzzzz
Haha that’s what I thought
It's "Edu"
looks like they slacked a little on the graphics for that car that front grill looks so 2d
Have you seen what a real trans-am car looks like?
no electric cars and a roster from 2013 lmao. wth
Forza really dropped the ball on car rendering. Just look at the grill and the headlights at 0:54 lmao, it's a sticker
They actually are stickers though...
@@p1eased0nteatme they don’t have headlights irl?

My good sir, you should reduce the fuel in your tank before the race
Not to be a naysayer but Forza motorsports game play, maybe more realistic game mechanics are very hit and miss when watching for entertainment purposes. I hope they fix it but obviously not all car types work to make for compelling viewing, unfortunately.
I didn't know Trans Am was still going on.
The last time I heard of them, was the great video on RUclips, The Unfair Advantage, which told the story of Audi basically putting their All Wheel Drive systems against the world, including entering the American Trans Am series. Audi's AWD made them so consistant & stable. What irritates me, is instead of making their own AWD system to catch Audi, or improve their own cars. The other Trans Am teams whined & complained to the Authorities to handicap Audi, which they did.
I don't know what Trans Am is like now. But the behavior of Audi's opponents, really left a bad impression on me about Trans Am, and made me ashamed to be an American.
What happened to that American innovation & drive? They b!tched to the authorities, just like Harley Davidson did, instead of innovating and making more bike varieties for more people, which is what their market competitors from Japan were doing. So Harley whined to the government, who then heavily taxed foreign bikes, which also lead to Americans just not getting certain vehicles for sale here.
Things like this are why I am an Anarchist.
No slaves, no masters, no overall authority to manipulate or hide behind.
Everyone for themselves.
🍿
F*** Audi and their AWD crap, TA has always been for RWD cars. Something similar happened to V8 Supercars with Nissan.
Race teams complaining when another is quicker??? This is unprecedented!
Back then the rules required that you can only use drive-trains that was offered in the street version of that car. Audi knew they had the ringer for that series.
Audi is the reason the series appeared to go the way of the dodo. It ruined the TV value of the series. SCCA wasn't exactly on fire then either. Trans-Am's downturn, Can-Am was gone. IMSA was making Pro Road Racing worth the money to run the prototypes, and GT cars.
@DDS029
There were no American AWD cars at the time? No agile American Hothatches to turbocharge? To my understanding, the Dodge Neon was included in NFS Underground, because it was America's answer to the Civic.
There was nothing else back then, to turn into a racecar? Really? And weren't there Shelby cars that weren't muscle cars?
No rebadged, or foreign designed American made cars back then, like the Eagle Tallon, which was just an Mitsubishi Eclipse underneath? For a different strategy.
Open in a new tab, and lookup on RUclips, the Manley review of NFS Most Wanted. No American Trans Am team tried what BMW did with the M3 GTR? And I think some Really teams too. Made a racecar first, then road versions of it so it would satisfy the rules.
Was that possible?
The rules said a Trans Am car had to have the same drivetrain as the street version? Did the rules exclude old streetcars, and 4x4 trucks?
If the American teams didn't want to experiment with bringing power to all 4 wheels, then they should have gone big, or gone home. I know there is an old, Rear Engine, RWD American car. No one thought to bring that back as a Trans Am car, with much better suspension?
The center-of-gravity of rear-engined cars, amplifies Rear Wheel Drive characteristics/weight-transfer. So well, the best performing RWDs in dirt & snow rallying, are cars like the 911 and original Beatle. It even helps a RWD street car during winter, putting sandbags in the trunk.
I know the timeline of some of the things I mentioned, are way off. But my point is, did any of the American teams try anything like this? No one combed the American streetcar history for an alternative to a muscle car? Whose Front-engine RWD layout is best for show drifting, not getting around as quick as possible. No team made their fuel cells as rearward as possible?
No one rose to the engineering challenge, and looked for loopholes in the rules, even just for the LOLs. They just cried to daddy Trans Am?
That is not the America I know.
Try swapped Silvia Q in GT7 1200hp 980kg…..forza sucks….such budged and such disappointment for all Xbox players… 🤦♂️
