The Kadett C was 73-79, not much of a touring car history as I recall but the preceded the Manta as Opel's rallying effort. I had two of the coupes in the early nineties (not the GT/E sadly) and thought they were great looking. Great to see it in the game.
The ascona 400 and manta 400 were the two cars used by Opel as their rally cars, the Kadett did also see some gravel in its time, but was never used in the higher classes
Reminded me of the best race I’ve ever seen at Mid-Ohio. It was a huge 50’s Jaguar, I mean massive, against a tiny Lotus Elan. When they popped into view at the end of the back straight, the Jaguar would have 10-15 car lengths back to the Lotus. By turn 6 the Elan was all over the back of the Jag. All race long the Lotus couldn’t find a way by
So much fun - I was cheering on Lvl8's Scirocco, because I had one for several years that I lost to an unfortunate combination of a stuck oil pressure switch and a failed oil pump. The race specs you picked nicely describe the cars I always loved driving IRL!! Less than 2k lbs, less than 150hp (much less in the ones I owned); the sort of car you can thrash without being immediately arrested. I've been fortunate enough to have had an 80 Scirocco, 79 Fiesta, 81 Jetta and an 84 CRX. They were all great cars to drive while never really being fast enough to attract attention.
During my college years i lived in a shared house...on that drive..2x manta a's, kadett, Mk3 cortina glx, 2 dolly sprints and my Mk Cortina 1500 gt,...those days worth total of £500 tops🤣
This channel is starting to feel like a 90s parking lot. From Trans Am(s) to clown cars. I had a very rusty '84 Corolla GT back then with a smoking hot 90hp. Spent more time slinging it on rally roads then paved to nurse all the enjoyment you could get out of it. Knees on the dash as my crash bar.
Kadett haven't raced against Cortina afaik - But it had plenty of chances to compete against Escort (they were pretty similar cars throughout their history tbh)
I have found that with the group I race with, racing at night helps with stability. Less rendering on things like color and distant objects. However night is bad for content
The second race was definitely people who had slicks vs people who had actual acceleration Still fun though lol I let Oli go to see if they could get by in the last race
It pains me to say it, but it was probably the right choice to run the Mid-Ohio short course in the last race. The Opel would have been untouchable if it had been allowed to run the full back straight.
I don’t know what the requirements are for your hopper, but if it’s just 2000lbs and 150hp then give the radical a drive. Swap in the 1.6L turbo engine, remove the turbo. Add some ballast. It’s what I use to dominate on C class maple valley and a couple others. Drop the aero all the way. You’re not going fast enough for it to be beneficial at higher values. I have mine topping out around 115-120.
We did a full stream worth of races like that. The issue is that the tire wear is not the same as in featured multiplayer and tires last way too long. And the weather changes instantly, so there's no actual crossover period where both slicks and wets are viable. It's just a sudden transition.
"I have aero but not a lot of it" - yeah I get like that with those too, such a moreish chocolate bar! specially the mint aero! bubbly minty goodness! Did not know they made cars go faster! the more you know
That first race was so good. So much suspense on the last two laps.
wasn't convinced my Renault would be up to much before we filmed this, but it turned out to be a pretty solid all rounder :)
I can't believe after all these years I've only just realised your name isnt "tea time" but "teatme"
@@RikaRikaItsumikaplease don't eat me. Teat me works too. 😅
@@RikaRikaItsumika I always read it as “Please don’t eat me”
It was good to watch you drive it. I'm currently working on a Renault 5 for A Class. It was one of my best A Class tarmac racers in FH5.
@@PippetWhippet That's exactly what it is.
But I have to admit that it too took me some time to wrap my head around it. @erikeccorsi2517
4:30 .....There was not a Dangerman sized gap left there 😂😂😂
Cheeky bugger ran you straight off. 🤣🤣🤣
Definitely not.
@Dangerman8000 No, that gap definitely was wider than you. But it might have been a smidge too narrow for your car. 😉
@@Timberwolf69 😆🤣
About two thirds of a Dangerman.

the first race is probably the best one youve ever posted imo. Such fun to watch
I bottled the first race, chose the wrong tire for the 2nd and got stuck in traffic in 3rd. A typical motorsport night for me

Blakey and Liam in the final race set the same fastest lap time in the same car

Reminds me of those vintage races at Goodwood where an early 60s Galaxie races a bunch of touring Cortinas and Alfas

I recently picked up an 87 CRX that I'm trying to get back into shape
Amazing battle right down to the wire in the third race. Well done!

The best kind of racing
What the hell, they put an opel kadett in forza? Thats awesome 😄
There was at least the Kadett A in Horizon 4, not sure if the C was also there, been some time I last played FH4.
Racing seems better and more exciting than previous games
26:28 Lucky for you it hasn't evolved into Garchomp

The rally lights are so good
These races are SO good!
This is what Forza is all about! 👍
I got a sense of deja vu when Lime rock was on since I've been there in person.
ty for ninetails representing the 80s toyota club
wow alex, that was some dirty ass driving in that first race...

Still fun though lol

That would be a cool video idea to find out if and how much fuel savings the slipstream offers.

old cars? renault 5?? miatas??? i love it so muuch
10:36 Someone get FIA scrutineering on Stevies golf. And check the plank wear while you're at it.
Pop-Up headlight for the win
Just the absolute best
Nice.
Maybe try longer races, with pit strategy and dynamic weather, if that is a thing?

you put 17 laps worth of fuel in the second race for a seven lap race. Sacrificed a lot of pace
NOTICED YOU PUSH THE REN5 INTO CORNERS ALOT.
Kadett would work with Cortina but it would have to be Oliver spec (Kadett A)
had you put in more fuel in the first race you'dve lost
Can we do something like this in a vstc?
GO AMY!!!
A lot of our cars only put down 150 hp to the wheels
I've noticed cars are more likely to roll in this game than previous titles. Jelly Car build?????????

Have to say I'm very quickly missing the Forza horizon content. This Motorsport stuff is just boring me unfortunately. 😔
Turning into a dirty driver, blocking the Renault and then pushing dangerman off the track, poor racing etiquette
