"Put down the Buster Sword, and pick up the Duster Sword" is exactly the way a mum who pretends not to care about your games would show that she does, in fact, listen.
I've been trying to find the video that one is on as I was reminded of it the other day and wanted to revisit it, but so far I've not located it. Been a good excuse to watch some great videos though.
Oh the Christmas Maze memories - Rosie beating that spicy Crash challenge genuinely had me up off of my sofa... Hello - you've caught me reminiscing about all the times that the Christmas Maze has made me happier than Christmas turkey.
Rosie's down-to-the-wire victory over stormy ascent is my 2nd favorite Xmas Maze Rosie moment after the, never to be beaten, EAT IT ROBERT S. PEARSON!!!
2 is usually correct but with Astro Bot, I deliberately left some things behind just so I could come back at a later stage because the game is too good and I didn't want it to end.
3:54 I used to be this way, but after playing Celeste I started moving on and going back later. That story needed to be finished before those berries got grabbed sometimes
re 7: What about THE LEAN!?!?! Leaning toward the landing zone for a particularly long or hard jump... (Honourable mention to driving games and leaning into your turn)
I got banned from watching my Dad play Mario because I'd actually jump in my seat. I'd also try to look ahead through the screen during auto- scroll levels
I'm a controller tilter. I also spam A even though it's not going to improve the Pokeball's chance. And I can't stop pressing the button while the character or enemy attacks in the early Final Fantasys, even though I know it'd doing nothing. I just need to feel like I'm doing something.
Something I can never resist is trying to get to some areas that are still currently out of reach even though I know or at least can guess that I have to come back later when I have the necessary abilities or they can be accessed through other areas at a later point in the game. Who knows, maybe I'm lucky and discover a glitch no one ever found before and I can glitch my way to that inaccessible area.
Totally familiar with all of these. Extra lives are a must in a platformer. The reaction: pure joy, satisfaction, and rewards, completion So many things we do Aww Astro Bot is us all along Rob, your idle animation is spectacular
Rosie is the ultimate gamer geek. The amount of joy she gets from completing a level is the ultimate 😂. I definitely do the head forward move to make the character make the jump. Sometimes it works 😉
Ahh, platforming. A way of life. Yup, from collectibles, idle, running left, and immersion nods. I do indeed have a p-p-p-platform face rather in Sonic, Rayman, Crash, Little Big Planet, Spyro, etc. or Astro Bot that is indeed me. Platformers will define a portion of my gaming always in life. Great list again. Fun video.
This is why this channel is so good, truly fellow players. That Astro Bot level i 100% the hardest, i remember it well, it was immediately the one that came to mind when Rob was talking about the hard Astro Bot level. Things like this prove how these guys are real.
Delsin really needs to go to HR at some point. The years of bullying, abuse and outright workplace hostility he has had to suffer from Rob shouldn't be allowed any longer at this point.
we can't forget about the grunt when it comes to long jumps as if that would have us jumping further. I did it once whilst playing a game with someone and they had no idea what noise I just made or why.
Hello you’ve caught me thinking about being too old to appreciate 3d platformers. I’m from the olden days of NES where you always moved the controller up and down to get Mario or whoever to jump higher (I promise it worked!) and not to mention all the swear words you hid from your parents when you KNOW YOU PUSHED THE %#$£€ JUMP BUTTON!!!
As others have commented, there are a couple other weird controller habits: tilting the controller side to side, especially when racing, and moving the controller up and down while jumping. I have a vivid memory of literally lunging up out of my chair to try to ensure a difficult jump one time. Luckily, no one saw me or my husband and kids would never have let me live it down.
Surprised that for the Speed Run entry, the Chrishi-Mashi Special (ATTENTION!) episode of Rob getting the best time wasn't included - OOOOOOOOH WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT!?!?!?!?! One of my favourite Access videos 😂😂
#2 is so on point. It's funny. I'm normally not a completionist when I play an open world game. But when I play Crash, Spyro, Astro Bot, etc. I will not stop until I've gotten everything
I told my partner, Emma once that if I can't do something after two attempts then I give up. Since then she says that I'm not a proper Gamer. Emma is the opposite. She has determination in her gaming life whereas in the real world she'd give up almost immediately. She's also willing to play most games and is annoyed with my willingness not to.
I remember when I was little, my grandmother had the first Nintendo at her house. When she was playing, you couldn't sit in front of her because her legs would kick out when she did a big jump in Mario. Thanks, Rob and Playstation Access for bringing that memory to the forefront for me with number #1 on your list.
Aaww, the Christmas Maze clip was amazing. I believe it was that particular Christmas Maze series that inspired me to get a package of minced pies. My Mom didn't really care for them. Me? They were fantastic
I miss there being a team bikini. I hope Ash returns one day. I enjoy watching everyone on the team. I'm always surprised how emotionally invested I am. When someone leaves I feel quite saddened.
Same. I miss team bikini as well. They were hilarious together and some of favourite my streams had both Ash and Rosie in it. The RE 3 Remake stream for example. She has her own channel if you wanted to check that out.
Platformers used to be my favourite genre on the PS1, but I lost interest in them after I bought the PS2. Now I barely play any of them, and when I do, I rarely finish them. There are some exceptions like Ratchet and Clank games, probably because they're also 3rd person shooters. I haven't even finished Astro's Playroom even though it's a short game.
I agree with basically all of these. I always start thinking; 'the next one will be it!'. It's the same with Elden Ring, you know? Anyway, I was wondering if you could do a 7 Ways to Beat Burnout list one day? Not the racing game, the feeling when you can't engage with gaming or a passion you used to adore. I'm struggling with it at the minute and I was wondering if you knew any secret recipes for success against it, in your hilarious relatable manner.
Back in ps1 days tony hawks pro skater was accompanied by me and a friend lifting the controller to above head height at times. He would also request utter silence while playing tenchu.
I just got the Astro Bot platinum and it was a grind. Those damn void levels were tough even for a long time platformer. The final level was really tough, took me like 57 tries or more. Worth it tho for the shiny fake reward that no one cares about but me. 😔
My favorite was playing chicken with a Titan Souls boss that rolls at you and you hit it in it's eye 5 seconds after it activates then get the COME AT ME BRO achievement. Ah yes, and don't forget moving your body left and right as you jump but bad gaming habits be damned when it comes to platforming.
#2 was the bane of my existence as a teenager with anxiety. I remember playing Jak and Daxter and being physically incapable of moving on to the next level without collecting all the orbs. I literally quit the game and never played it again when I got stuck.
The line "Put down the Buster Sword and pick up the Duster Sword." For a simple joke it made me burst out laughing.
Same! 🤣
Dave wearing that dress never fails to amuse me.
Also same xD WP Access team writers
The sound of the slap as that rag hit robs bald head XD
I might actually use this with my son lol
"Put down the Buster Sword, and pick up the Duster Sword" is exactly the way a mum who pretends not to care about your games would show that she does, in fact, listen.
The sound design for Rob's idle animation is peak *chef's kiss*
Rosie and her outbursts are great but nothing will ever beat the "YYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSS, EAT THAT ROBERT S. PEARSON"

“Put down the buster sword and pick up the duster sword” had me in stitches
The whole Rob idle animation thing at 10:05 had me laughing 😂 The sound effects took it next level.
The dry deliver of "This is the worst day of my life" had me in stitches!^^
That "splat" of the Duster Sword was perfect 😂😂
HOW CAN YOU HAVE ANY PUDDING IF YOU HAVEN’T HAD YOUR SANDWICH!!

Rob, your idle animation is spectacular
I Platinumed Astro Bot a couple of weeks ago. The Grand Master Challenge was brutal
The jump nod isn't about telekinesis it's affirmation that you made that jump. nod "yes I made that jump" nod "yes I made that jump " etc.
robs alfred impression 😂😂😂 spot on
the astrobot platinum achieved here aswell 😊😊
Blowing on carts and memory cards. That's a great old school deep cut.
I'm guilty for doing everything on this list but my favorite is the idle animations
Awe I got a like from the access team thanks guys that made my day you guys are the best
101% complete. Great video Rob. 🎉
Speed running at PSA also gave us Rob's famous astro bot win.

you forgot the one where the player tries to angle the controller so that they think it will help the character move in the direction they want
gotta get that PS Access platinum trophy for liking, commenting and subscribing!! Love the work, keep it up Rob!

Fun fact: There is even more Astro’s idles animations than you think! For example, the Time Stop gadget will actually wake Astro up if he even sleeps!

How about the hidden butt clench or toe curl
Dying on purpose to see if the game has any varied death animations. Crash Bandicoot is good at those.
One of the funniest FFs in a hallowed history of funny FFs (or FFFs). Now off to get all the things I need to do today thoroughly thinged!!!

Seeing Croc Legend of the Gobbos gave me serious nostalgia!
Rob's idle animations are..... scary 😱!!!
Hearing Da- I mean Rob’s mother mention the Buster Sword reminded me how ready I am for a weekly Dave FF7 Remake playthrough 😬
Love Rob, but he will never convince he has collected everything in Crash be4 moving on.
i mean i cannot believe the amount of astrobot in this video without putting in arguably rosies finest moment
We all know Rob secretly LOVES Delsin.
Robs idle animation.... really I thought to myself. That's what he went with? Then he gave the line after and I got quite the laugh.
Can’t wait for December and “7 ways Hitman on PSVR2 is amazing”.
"Jump off for extra life"

Still love Rosie screaming, "I am aware of the situation!".
Best idle animation is when the character break the 4th wall and ask you to hurry up!
I think I know what we'll be playing in the next Christmas Maze...
I literally laughed out loud when Rob did his idle animation... 😂
I was really hoping Rob would juggle Dr. Pepper cans for his idle animation.
I find it kinda plausible that instead of sleep walking Rosie might sometimes be prone to sleep gaming.
Are we getting the Christmas Maze back again this year? I am genuinely already looking forward to it.
Oh how I love a good platformer! Just got Astrobot today and am in love!
Not a big platforming fan, myself, but I LOVE Friday Features!😆
I just got the platinum trophy for Astro Bot!!!
The extra bigger Delsin!! 💜
