7 Videogame Bosses So Massive They’re Almost Unfair

- We love a big boss fight, but can a boss be too big? Here are 7 videogame bosses so massive they’re almost unfair. From giant robot boss fights to huge mechanical men, this week’s Friday Feature is about the boss fights that blot out the sky and make us weak and puny. How many of them have you defeated?
We made a video about giant boss fights a few years ago and in the time since then, these fights are only getting bigger. Have you seen the Strider? It’s an Armoured Core 6 boss fight that takes up the entirety of the horizon. Or the Horus boss fight from Horizon Forbidden West DLC, the Burning Shores, or the Guardian Gigantus from Dragon’s Dogma 2. For those with a retro sensibility we’ve also got an Ape Escape 2 classic that reminds us of a famous God of War 3 encounter. You’ll be amazed by the similarity.
You can watch our classic list on 7 videogame bosses so massive they shouldn’t be allowed here ( • 7 Videogame Bosses So ... ) and see how they stack up to the new list. And if you haven’t been watching our new Friday Features, what’s keeping you? Check out our recent videos on cunning kills where someone else did all the work ( • 7 Cunning Videogame Ki... ) and 7 dumb deaths we totally deserved ( • 7 Instant Deaths We To... ).

In reference to the latest pod, Dave I tried Balatro and wow it's so damn addictive!
"So on monday im writing the Friday feature, and you're fighting the adamantoise."
"Yes."
"Tuesday I'm recording the Friday feature, and you're fighting the adamantoise."
"Yes."
"Wednesday I'm editing the Friday feature and you're fighting the adamantoise."
"Yes."
"This is ridiculous! Im just doing your work!"
"Yes!" 😊
It's funny how 12 years, marriage and children can change someone.
"I've talked about big bosses 8 years ago"
DANG it really hits home how long this series has been going (and how long I've been watching it. I WATCHED THAT EPISODE WHEN IT CAME OUT).
Same mate, mad isn't it! It is so nice this series is still going. It feels like a lovely warm hug watching these ❤
The restraint of not adding a single Metal Gear boss. Well done, Rob.
Probably because there's not one bigger than sahelanthropus. I hope. 🍀
@@cloverandanais Oh there is don't worry but you don't have to fight it, only between 6-23 standard Metal Gear units (depending on the difficulty level) that are guarding it
@@NineBreakerUIXB And there's Metal Gear EXCELSUS from MGS Rising: Revengeance.
That backup Dr Pepper! 🙌
The Dr. Pepper in the suit case lmao!
Rob, you brave man. Packing only one backup Dr. Pepper.
Rob running back a classic list ya love to see it
Hello, you've caught me enjoying another Friday feature 😊
Ben Starr needs to join the PlayStation access team lol.
And be Robert S. Pearson’s best mate of course!
I would love to see someone from PS Access make a guest appearance on Natural Six!
An enormous boss that comes to mind for me is the Icon of Sin from Doom Eternal. That's what the development team for Doom 2 Hell on Earth wanted to do, but the technology of the time and their inexperience with programming stopped them from doing that.
Can't believe Sin from FFX didn't come to my mind
Im surprised that none of the Shadow of the Colossus made the list at all. I loved that entire game, its not new or flashy but that was such a fun game.
I agree, especially the Biggest Boi: Malus!
@@LadyLeomon Maybe its just the perspective but yea he felt so big to fight against!
I'm guessing it's because he put SotC in the first video.
I’m pretty sure they did one several years ago with shadow of the colossus
@@connorpfeifer9143 You are probably right and I completely forgot about it, there have been to many Friday features to remember what he has talked about, unless its water physics or FF
My favorite ‘future’ bosses that are way too big: The Ruby, Emerald and Ultimate Weapon from Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3!
Seriously how are they going to pull these monstrosities off!?
They better add them in Part 3
Demon Souls Dragon God and Spiderman 2 Sand Man were pretty big recent bosses for me. Great video as usual Rob. Thanks for being one of the best things about Fridays again :-)
I have no idea why, but seeing Rob rub his head against that monitor had me laughing my head off! It was just so random and unexpected.
Asura's Wrath boss was the size of the earth.
Bigger actually
Which one? Wyzen or Chrakravartin?
The only reason it didn't make it here was it featured in part 1.
I just posted this. If anything, that game deserves a remake. It was ahead of its time.
@@deathbykonami5487 Wyzen became planet sized. Asura had to become planet sized to even fight Chakravartin who was big enough to throw entire galaxies out of his hands.
Wow, this throws me back. Your original video on the topic was my first ever PSA video and what got me into the channel. Nice to see an part 2 of it.^^
Super happy to see the checklist videos making a comeback !
Tidal Wave in the PS2 transformers game, I mean he's so big he makes the regular transformers look like toys.
So big that the boss was pretty much the entire level itself until he transformed for the fight itself.
I love your Friday Features! I forgot how long I've been watching them until you mentioned a list from 8 years ago. Guess I am old now
I've been blessed with 2 Delsin appearances in one video, 3 if you count big Delsin. What a great feature!
What a fun entry! Great Friday feature entries recently! Well done, Rob! Well done, my boy.
I love the Friday Features!
Christmas Maze…such happy memories
Another suitable entry is Rob......from Delsen's POV.
Another lovely friday feature! Just lovely! Please keep 'em coming! 😍
I love that you literally have to run away from Strider's explosion. So epic.
Wyzen from Asura's Wrath could easily eat all the bosses on this list lol
He was already on previous video ruclips.net/video/pKYWtqPwSAg/видео.html&ab_channel=PlayStationAccess
These features are always so well written and performed by Rob!
Another week another classic Rob Friday feature. Keep it up!!!
"I talked about big bosses, no not that one." Made me laugh.
Thank you Rob once again 🎉🎉🎉
I love Rob's narration😂😅 One of my favorite huge Bosses is the final Colossi in Shadow of the Colossus.
Thank you for the video.
2:09 it's confirmed:
Rob doesn't get to the Cloud District very often.
Of course he doesn't.
I know it's silly but i actually cried as a huge wave of nostalgic emotion rocked through me watching this weeks friday feature. i've truly missed these.
You brighten my Fridays.
And Number 1… Doctor Robotnik’s Mustache 😄
Legend of DRAGOOOON. My god.
I ground for days to get my HP to 250 K to take out what I thought was an End Boss just to find out that Noooooo, you need a Minimum of 500 K HP for the Final Boss. Minimum.
300 hours well spent!
Wish that game would get a remake.
@@kevinanderson4036 Rose in 4K? Yes Please.
The boxing dancer, name slips me, would fully fund the kickstarter from the Wai /Wu crowd.
I want Ben Starr as a friend as well, he seems like such a lovely human
I am playing FF16 now. But I learned how fun Ben Starr is thanks to the channel. The problem now is I struggle to take Clive seriously because Ben Starr is such a lovable dork while Clive is so serious. I keep seeing Ben starr in my head acting all serious and it cracks me up.
The first time my jaw dropped at the sheer size of a boss was the Spider Mech in Jak 3 on the PS2- chasing that thing as it lumbered across the desert was a blast, and an incredible testament to Naughty Dog getting everything they could out of the hardware!
The final boss of Persona 5 Royal was pretty massive
Vanquish and Haze spring to mind...
So glad these are back. 😊
"Cooler than the Blade of Chaos" Rob is saying words that makes sense individually, but becomes complete gibberish when put together!
The 1st boss Dominion from Sundered. That game did a great job showing off the scale of this boss. I was completely blown away by that fight and the game. Very underrated.
Yes! I've been hoping you'd revisit some of the old list topics. You mentioned my favorite, which was Adamantoise in FF15, beating them was the last trophy I needed for the platinum.
Better not be poking my weakpoints with a big key 🤣🤣 haha that fking hilarious rob lol
That Strider explosion is so big I wiped the first time because I thought I was at a safe distance
Love the entries and the humour, these PS Access Friday vids are good set up for weekend gaming!
Regarding big bosses, wouldn't the biggest boss be, technically, Loc Station 13 (Closure Satellite) from Armored Core VI?
Though, technically, that is more of a stage, but it is the final objective, right?
If only we could fight the Bahamut in his size that emerged from Dalamud on FFXIV. He is estimated to be 6.6 km long with a wingspan of 24 km. He could be entire duty just running on his body similar to Cronos or the Horus. One of the binding coils has a raid where the arena is the palm of his hand. The version we do fight is substantially smaller.
Man, the cinematic of Louisoix facing off against Bahamut is still one of my favorite scenes. When they show the sheer scale of Bahamut towering over Louisoix and the battlefield, it still gives me chills. I think I need to go watch the "Answers" video again now. ❤
@@madalice5134 it never gets old, right?
Surprised you didn’t include the Phase 3 form of the Act 2 boss fight from Baldur’s Gate 3. Puny compared to some on this list, maybe, but immense in the context. I remember thinking “Fighting a multi-phase god-like being? What is this, Final Fantasy or something?”
I absolutely loved the Titan Lost boss fight. It's one of my all-time favorite boss fights.
Classic episode, excellent picks! Mine would be JENOVA Lifeclinger and Alexander from Rebirth, Kala from Indivisible, Metal Gear Cocoon from Peacewalker, the Genie from Dark Cloud, Tate Eboshi from Nioh 2 (because she's too fast for that size) and Lavos from Chrono Trigger.
This was great thank you I enjoyed the humor
Rayman 3's final bossfight against Reflux, blew my mind as a kid
thank you for 4pm fridays
My first thought was the oil rig boss from Nier: Automata, but... Yeah, these ones are probably a few magnitudes bigger than even that.
(That said, I do wonder how tall the final boss of FF6 would be in total.)
For me Dagon and Mother Hydra from Dark Corner of The Earth.
They aren't too massive but the stage and camera angle makes them so menacing and threatening.
The Horus boss battle was just glorious. Still cant believe Guerrilla did it!
One of my favorites was Colossus of Rhodes in God of War 2. First thing you fight in the game!!! What a banger!!!
Loved the GoW bossess mentions👍
Ya I was expecting Kronos to pop up
For my Build in Nioh 2 I had to get a perfect drop of Lady Osakabes soul- she’s both a hard as nails boss, AND at the end of a really annoying, hard and long level…..it was a real slog.
If you need more, the mining mech in Star Wars Jedi survivor is incredible, and terrifying
Some of my favorite big bosses are: Amygdala (Amy for short) from Bloodborne, Orochi from Okami, and Del Lago from Resident Evil 4
That Nioh 2 boss feature brought back horrible memories. 😅
horus looks tough! i never ended up playing the dlc, but loved both the games!
I'm a little surprised that Gongen Wyzen from Asura's Wrath isn't on here. Dude was literally bigger than the planet itself, and he tried to kill Asura by simply poking the world XD
He was on the previous video that Rob did on this topic
#PodSquad
Friday Features are the type of videos I would hug if I could. That and Big Delsin.
Being a PlayStation focused channel obviously there would be no mention of the giant worm from Gears of War 2. Not exactly a “boss”, but more of an entire level as the team fights their way through the body of the worm…ending with them cutting their way out of it…
"At least I hope it's Ribena" 😂😂
Hello Early Squad 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Thanks for the new list Rob and go hug your furbabies all 💙🐱💙
(Hey Rob? When will your mum make another cameo? I have missed her visits, she’s a treasure!)
Super old one but the last boss in Xenon 2 was (at the time) amazing! Yes... I'm old. Also the last boss in Shadow of the beast, was basically a toe...
I nominate Zorah Magnaros from Monster Hunter World. An elder dragon with a volcano on its back, and in the opening makes the ship you arrived in look like a bath toy.
I have a great soft spot for Tidal Wave from the ps2 Transformers game. Something about its slow movement that really conveyed the size of it. And I shot missiles at its head which it matrix dodged and proceded to finger wag at me for trying to damage it. Really a fun fight
I bet that Jar- Jar figure if not opened, is worth some money.
I totally forgot there was a DLC to Horizon Forbidden West! I should play it!
I can't believe that you made this list and didn't include Wyzen from Azura's Wrath or Jubileus the Creator. I mean that they both can (sometimes) make even Galactus feel small (which, by the way, yet another unfairly large boss as of Marvel Vs Capcom 3.) To put it in context, each of them is capable of crushing the earth in their hands (or, in Jubileus's case, beneath his/her very presence.) Given that the protagonist fighting them is pretty much human sized, that's just ridiculously oversized.
My pick is the fittingly named Giganto from Sonic Frontiers. All of the bosses are enormous, but Giganto is the first one you fight, and he gets the honour of setting the tone for Sonic's most dangerous adventure yet. To put things in perspective, Sonic needs to transform into Super Sonic, which is usually reserved for the final boss of each game, just to touch him!
i really loved the Scarecrow boss fights in the Arkham games, especially asylum, in Arkham Knight it felt more epic that Johnathan Noble was the voice of scarecrow belittling Batman and the fact that the fear toxin was warping the landscape of the city whilst having to take down a monstro-city sized Scarecrow. A pun worthy of Rob 🤣
Excavallion in Granblue fantasy relink was a decent fight too I enjoyed. Can't forget the BT boss fight in death stranding at Edge Knot city. A small piece of comic trivia, injustice 2 with darkseid he can actually change his size on a colossal scale which was shown in his special attack how he grabs them in outer space. Pretty sure in the comics he could alter his size to basically be the size of a galaxy, he's also present in the fourth dimension and basically unkillable so that's kinda unfair 😅
Spoilers for stellar blade but that boss in the satellite was also pretty damn huge.
Hello you’ve caught me watching the Friday feature
The human-Reaper hybrid thing from Mass Effect 2 is of a size similar to Leviathan from the first video.
The last fight in Lollipop Chainsaw was big too.
Vegnagun
Oryx The Taken King Final Form from Destiny! Great boss first! Great mechanics!
Super Hyper Ultra Big Giant Creature!! 😱🔥
We really need another series of helping a noob. We need Rob back in Elden Ring with his friends to help him.
Still glad these features are back. Including Delsin ❤
PS: Introduced a friend to Dr Pepper. She's now addicted. Like me 😂
That HORUS Boss fight was beyond INSANE!
Absolutely amazing.
Never forgetting Quadraxis of Metroid Prime 2. Not even Kraid or Mogenar in the sequel was that gargantuan. Samus does a cool pose when landing from destroying it- even she knows she's just set a new record for 'the largest thing I've ever killed'.
The boss at the end of Contra Operation Galuga was really huge too.
A good recent addition to this list could be the demogorgon boss in Stellar Blade. You spend about 2 hours of the game going up an orbital elevator to find it taking up the entire end of it in space, and you have to hit it multiple times with an overcharged rail gun while already falling back into Earth's atmosphere
A great sequence!
"Chekhov's Ballista" is a joke that I never thought I would appreciate.
I missed out on the gigantous boss fight the first play through of dd2. I took a different route not knowing that the soldiers would end up fighting him without me.
The reaper on ranoc from mass effect 3 still feels personal taking it down.
The archdeamon from dragon age orgins man that was epic the culmination of everything you've done at that point all leading to the archdemon.
Hello all. Love your Chanel.🎉 I love my PS4, my 1st open world experience was horizon zero dawn. I was blown away by it. Enjoyed fenyx rising. Please can you recommend some third person open world games.🙏🙏🙏
Probably was on the previous list but I’m still gonna throw it out there, the reaper in mass effect that you take out in foot. For me it was real nerve racking and one of the best fights in the game.
*Deep Spoilers for Grandia 2. The HD Remaster was released recently on PS and the game's one of my all time faves so go play it now if you haven't then answer me in a week when you're done, it's really worth it, honest*
Valmar, it looks to be the size of a modern city the first time you fight it and the only way to fight it is to blow a hole in it and complete a rather difficult to navigate level before killing it's 'core. Then ofc later on you fight it two or three more times after you find out that it is literally the freaking moon
Dave missed the mgs reference when Rob said big boss in the intro 😢
Start with Armored Core 6...and end with Horizon.... Hell yeah
I can’t remember the name of the boss but in resistance 2 I remember leaping around buildings and mostly running away from something destroying the city. That was a great game.
