Did anyone notice that Professor Proton sat in Sheldon's spot and Sheldon actually didn't comment about it? It's a miracle!!!
+Jacob Laham I guess he makes exceptions for childhood heroes who are suffering mild heart attacks. He's generous like that.
I guess it's not different than how he will let his meemaw sit in that spot as well.
It was a Saturnalia miracle.
Jacob Laham 😝
😂 😆 😝 lol
Professor Proton's patience with Penny is adorable. Such a gentleman
His patience with Sheldon is also something to be admired.
@@caseyguilfoyle4580 Sheldon wasn't really being annoying here. More like a kid.
Bob Newhart as Professor Proton is genuinely one of the best comedic performances I've ever seen
Robert Moore i enjoyed him as papa elf too.
Some may have equaled him (I doubt it) but none would've topped his portrayal of Professor Proton! Genuinely funny!
The Academy agreed ruclips.net/video/Y-ZcQNcTe0M/видео.html
Professor Proton perfectly skirts the line between hilarious and depressing
I believe he got an award for it.
"Any chance we can plug it into the potato?".
...
"ⁿᵒ"
Had to squint my ass off to see the word no
Sheldon's nod of disappointment and Penny's reaction really sells this scene
How’d u change the font size?.?
Literally Trump during the pandemic
@Stuart Coker literally ur a Trump supporter
Oh Professor Proton, you only apear in some chapters and stole the show!. Even saying "No" you're Awsome!!!
He also stole Sheldon's spot.
Bob Newhart is a comic genius.
@@karenvincent5202 Agree - his comedic timing is legendary and he didn't disappoint. The deadpan look and hesitation with the "No's" stole the scenes. Kudo's to Kaley for setting him up so well.
@@dj3114 , I contacted Jerry Seinfeld several times to ask him to please include him in Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee before it is too late. He contacted me yesterday and gave me an opportunity to state my case! Keep your fingers crossed!
@@karenvincent5202 Good for you. I think it would be excellent. I hope your effort is rewarded.
Penny with that potato in the end.. Omg.. *died laughing*
MumbaiGlutton hahahahahaahahaha I died rofl
Oh no should we get a
Srry, little problem.
Oh no should we get a potato and plug it into the infigrolator 😂😂😂
MumbaiGlutton ...,I know right?..😂.Hilariously adorable
penny is a potato
"What do you two talk about?"
_Leonard does not want to admit how ever since he met her, he just wants to give a Big Bang._
Byron Mak Think about it, their universe was in a hot dense state and then penny is their big bang creating a universe beyond their imagining and they did the same with her.
This was a very cringy comment.
I was expecting "Sheldon" 😂😂
@@BlackDiamond2718 this series really brings out the imagination in peoples comment.
I feel like they didn't give Professor Proton a script and just said go for it. He is hilarious😂😂😂😂
Jeff Soltess They can't dare as Bob is the Daddy of comedy on TV back in the 60s and 70s.
I liked his politeness when Penny asked to help with Potato.. And he says: "No"
Bob Newhart's stutter really helps with his character. I mean I feel bad that he has it but it's always helped make him funnier throughout his career because he adds that into all his characters.
It's just a pretend stutter.
Bob's pointed out himself that technically it's actually a stammer, not a stutter. But yeah, he does it on purpose.
@@Logan_Baron I know this comment is from a while ago, but I just want to say, _wow!_ I legitimately thought that was a real stammer... a credit to his phenomenal acting skill.
@@thrivingbranch He is the master of dead pan delivery. The stammer is part of it many times.
Penny's question about the potato solving the world's energy crisis was actually valid if you don't understand how it works
No, it's about common sense, you don't have to know about the working of a battery to understand this.
...
...
‘No.’
Even it worked we will have hunger crisis
.. no
Yes it was
But the pacemaker thing was just dumb
He really did steal the show.
The way he delivers his lines is fantastic 😃
He sat on Sheldon's spot n didn't say anything
That speaks volumes considering how much Sheldon loves his spot
Nooo he loves his mother. His feelings for his spot are much greater.
@@generalkenobi066 Beat me to it.
AND Professor Proton!
Noticed that too
speaks nothing, everyone sat on sheldon's spot in his presence, that happened like 15 times in the show
"the puppeteer who did Gino, also, did my wife"
LMAO
Personally I didn't find it funny and the laugh track there seemed very insensitive.
@@the_picsopedia The laugh track was actually a Live audience.
@@the_picsopedia Well, I mean he agreed to come in and say those lines from the script that were obviously written for comedic effect. It's not as if he had told a personal story in a sensitive moment, where he would be upset that the live audience didn't take him seriously ;)
@@marcoantoniotorres4924it's not possible that you actually think these laugh tracks that have been used for like 50 years are actually a live audience.
@@mnicolas9742 I could have sworn it was? Either way, my apologies if it wasn't.
Congrats Bob for finally winning your Emmy! Too bad it took this long but what a fun role to win it for.
I have a bracelet with my address on it. That kills me every time.
Penny's reactions to the science experiments (the egg and the potato) are perhaps one of the funniest scenes in the entire show...
Her reaction when Dr. Proton mentioned he was going to power a clock with the potato, she was like "SHUT UP, YOU CAN DO THAT??" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
When Sheldon and Leonard are telling him that he was an inspiration for their pursuit of science is, to me, one of the best scenes in the show.
When he felt like he had nothing left to give or do, they made him feel like the inspiration that he was for them. Sheldon trying to be genuine and motivational was nice too.
Bob Newhart is a master of his craft. Even at the age of 87, his ability to stay on timing and voice control is amazing. While I am sure that other actors could have completed this role, Bob Newhart was the perfect actor!
"Do you remember that?"
"I'll give you a hint. I have a bracelet with my OWN address on it."
Lol
I don't get it... please help me😰
@@dekudow7190 it means... He is so forgetful or demented that he no longer can remember he's a dress, leave alone a autograph from 30 40 years ago
@@SSDavyS ooooooh hahahahahahahahahaha
Deku Mario it’s not that funny dude
I lost it there...no pun intended.
I really like TBBT. But anything with Bob Newhart in it is always going to be very special. Very very few people have his gift of comic timing - he's just a joy to watch.
genius
im in the UK and loved bob from years ago used to laugh at him my family never got him
He certainly had the talent to deliver lines with perfect timing
@@davidharrison9501 - With all respect to your family, anybody who doesen't get Newhart doesn't get comedy. Bob Newhart's telephone routines and Jonathan Winter's improv remain as the most original comedy to grace our lives.
Bob Newhart, with that deadpan face, "No." Cracked me up! Hilarious!
every "No" from professor proton is just priceless
What a coincidence. Your name is Yess, and you are making a comment about Professor Photon saying "no".
Nobody can deliver a "NO" like Bob Newhart. He is the one comedian that can make me laugh without being dirty. Truly one of the best comics of all time.
The writers on this show are AMAZINGLY!!! And the actors really deliver...Love this show!
HAHAHA, I love the way Sheldon is looking at Penny in the end, when she proposes to use the potato to plug into his pacemaker xD his expression is like "you idiot, can´t you just be quiet xD"
The difference between an actor reading his comedic lines and an actual comedian with perfect timing and decades of experience. Newhart is the best.
Never laughed so hard about someones „No“... epic 😂🤣
Its 3:26 am and I just laughed so loud and uncontrollably.
4:06 i think the very soft no is just perfectly delivered. It had me rolling with laughter.
When you realise that when we are older we will probably see Mathew Perry doing his sarcastic bits on shows like this one
This sadly did not age well😢
I love penny's enthusiasms here ...like an eager child she wants to know science behind these... Also that was emtional when sheldon and Leonard explains professor proton how he inspired a whole young generation scientist...
Penny is so cute in this episode and hilarious.
One of the best minor characters. Every line delivered with so much sass
Penny was so sweet in this scene.
2:22 I like how Professor Proton asks Leonard "what do you two talk about in this" scene
I love Penny! Arthur too when he said “The guy that did the puppet .. Did my wife too!!” 😂
Penny inquiring if they can plug the pacemaker into the patato is friggin hilarious!!!!!
And that tiny no from Arthur always gets me 🤣
Years later and I still laugh hysterically at that also did my wife joke.Such incredible line delivery.
Bob Newhart is so hilarious in this episode. Great scenes!!!! Laughed out loud!!!!!!
His delivery is just perfect, he just waits for the right moment.... the right pace, not too hasty...
I Love Bob Newhart and the character he plays. Apparently Sheldon does too. The writers must bring him back this season! This was hilarious.
2:26 "What do u 2 talk about?"... Sheldon keeps asking same question.....🤣🤣🤣🤣
Professor Proton's comedic timing is impeccable.
I laughed hard when he said I'll give you a clue,I have a bracelet with my own address written on it🤣🤣
Playing dumb is so difficult.. she nailed it..
Sheldon disapproving Penny's idea to power the pacemaker with potato was hilarious 🤣
2:21 comedy GOLD - what do you two talk about :D silly girl!
"I could've wound up as a hobo...or a surgeon!" Killed me😂😂
Leonard was so embarrassed for penny🤣🤣
Bob Newhart was brilliant, the comedy timing pure genius, this sketch really makes me laugh..
This is pure comedy gold. Bob Newhart didn't say much for his funniest parts but his comedic timing is so good he doesn't have to say much to get huge laughs. The "no" at the end had tears coming from my eyes as I laughed but it was just one word and I knew it was coming, but still made me laugh out loud, he is just that good.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: episodes of the Big Bang Theory that included Bob Newhart are some of the funniest shit ever.
Fun Fact: he won his one and only Emmy for this episode.
That professor Proton is gold 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
His answers are always killing me.
I literally died at the bracelet thing🤣🤣
if only
The screenwriters were particularly brilliant in this episode
"I'll give you a hint: I've got a bracelet with my own address on it."
Bob Newhart’s performance in TBBT is absolutely Fantastic! Every time he’s in an episode... I always smile 🙂 Not to mention the writing is complete Genius... it just makes it even better
I have loved Bob Newhart pretty much my entire life, and I still couldn't believe how funny he was in this clip. Literally laughing out loud at his comments.
This guy's a genius. His acted awkwardness was gold....
Absolutely hysterically funny! Bringing in Bob Newhart made the best sitcom on TV even better and executed by both the writers and actors immaculately.
Kinda like Martin Mull as Russell the Pharmacist on Two and a Half Men....
Newhart's delivery is so perfect.
I don't think I can think of any other comedian with his timing and delivery.
I feel like if Penny has seen his show growing up she might have had a different life.
She's the popular girl stereotype, who is popular by her looks but not brains.
@@Nameless82284 yeah
@@michellea221 Well goes to show these bullies that us nerds have a better life making lots of money while the popular kids get stuck working in a dead end job.

@@michellea221 Here I am with only 1 or 2 years left in college and I'm doing okay, seriously who raised these people, why do they think popularity is the most important thing. I was raised to believe that smarts is the most important thing.
prof proton validation when Sheldon said hobo or surgeon killed me, prof proton is a physicist true and true.
3 minutes of the most funny dialogue I have heard in years.
...to bring this guy into the show was a MASTERPIECE! :) ...what you call a "stroke of genius"! :D (- no irony intended!) :) ...
“I have a bracelet with my own address on it….” Omg 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bob Newhart was awesome, in this episode. He was perfect for the part! A comedy genius (and best friend of Don Rickles)!
I like it when Sheldon says, '' I have to say something'', and then everything goes well. Sheldon is not just a genius he is adorable too.
Kudos to the people behind this...
Penny's reaction to the clock is actually beautiful. a lay person just became instantly fascinated with the wonders of science. In Prof Protons last bday performance. he genuinely inspired someone to science.
"Any chance we can plug it into the potato?"
may sound silly, but she's thinking and applying. that's something.
"SHUT...UP! U can do that???" Lmaoo Penny was so cute
Probably one of the best episodes ever!!!!!!!
All this time later this still makes me laugh. Mr. Newhart's pause before saying NO is perfect
All the actors on the show said that it was a true honor to work with Bob - his sense of comedic timing is world-class. I bet they felt like they were back in acting school, and he was the teacher!
"wouldn't that solve the world energy crisis" LOL yeah ok, lets have everything powered with potatoes. Machines, cars, devices, etc. haha
L.S. Moto That was the point...
don't need to be so obvious about it
Well, it's kinda normal reaction when the meaning is high power clock thing, i even thought at first it's about energy, but i know that stare is saying it's not about the energy.
In that case Ireland would glow up like the sun on earth.
Imagine ireland and then a potato famine forces them to think about the matter.
I love it when Sheldon shakes his head at Penny. It’s like he’s saying “You should be ashamed”. And Penny’s like “I know”
I'd love to see the bloopers for this scene. This clip had me laughing harder than any other big bang clip i've seen recently.
I just finished watching this episode, it was magic.
"no" was the funniest no ever 😂
Her question about the potato~pace maker and his response, gets me every time.
What I love most about TBBT is that the guys love their job and they are all so passionate about it.... just as passionate they are about comic books.
The disregard Sheldon holds for all other professions is something that is so admirable.
Bob is a master of understated comedic timing.
I found this episode touching, Sheldon´s reaction towards Professor Proton is very cute, we can see how much appreciation he has for someone who lows downs his work, but the speech Leonard and Sheldo gave to him about how much young kids were motivated leading them to be what they are now, like Sheldon has some much value in life, he is a true life hero, not even thos comic super heroes books they geek about. This episode is beuatiful.
the timing of the punchlines were perfect! I love this show!
That "NO" was awesome!!! 😂
One of the best scenes ever!
This scene still cracks me up to this day. XD
Professor Proton sits on Sheldon’s spot and he doesn’t mind it, that tells you how much Sheldon loves that man. 😢
*A generation of young engineers are standing on shouldlers of Iron Man*
(After Penny asked her question)
Prof. Proton (to Leonard): " What do you two talk about"
WHUTTT!😂😂😂
One of my all time favourite episodes
But Penny seems to really excited about those experiments. If she would've watched that show as kids she probably had became scientist too
Interesting that Sheldon keeps calling him "MISTER" Jeffries when Sheldon knows that he has a doctorate. Sheldon should be calling DOCTOR Jeffries.
sheldon as a child had sweet memories with professor...so that's why he got used to mister instead of professor
Doctor is too formal, you don't seem him calling Leonard a doctor.
I think Penny genuinely loves Proton too, he is like Socrates talking to all these Sophists.
"Any chance can we plug it into the potato?"
😂😂😂
THIS IS THE BEST I WATCHED. I CANT STOP LAUGHING
What a cast, haven't seen nothing better than this show.
a thousand-page-long PhD compressed in one word: "No." :D
When professor Proton asked "What do you two talk about?", I thought either Leonard or Penny's answer would be "SHELDON"! 😂😅😂😅
Lmao Penny is so funny here 😂
Amazing acting by Prof Proton.
