This scene is gold. Everything from Amy taunting the monkeys to Sheldon knocking on the door mid conversation to Sheldon's ever-entertaining failures at understanding the social contract.

I’m autistic and while I am insurmountably different to sheldon I find his confusion with and structural breaking down of ridiculous social niceties very relatable
The BBT Fan i think if the show started now many things would be different in terms of equality. The rampant misogyny and sexual harassment of penny wouldn’t pass for example. But I also think they would approach sheldon differently. Perhaps actually diagnose him with autism and ocd. I find it hard to believe working in a university like that, someone wouldn’t reach out. With my experience of diagnostic systems, they have improved and updated an unbelievable amount over the last ten years. Sometimes I find it a little upsetting when Sheldon has a meltdown over change, or that he’s frustrating about certain things because he finds everything in life very difficult, that he doesn’t have the tools to protect himself or explain what he’s going through to others.
The BBT Fan despite Bernadette not being close to sheldon, when Howard tried to justify insulting sheldon because he does and she says something like because the part of his brain that’s supposed to be telling him about that is getting a wedgie from the rest of it, that’s surprisingly a not that far off and a very funny way of describing it.
The BBT Fan I think because TBBT is the last show to have a laugh track and the sitcom setup of floodlit and three cameras, people forget that it’s actually made a sizeable amount later than sitcoms like it, and while I think it’s very funny, it really shouldn’t be as backwards as it is, even in the early seasons.

How was the play? I don't recall if we ever find out whether or not Any and Sheldon actually enjoyed the play. I don't think we find out in the episode, do we? Maybe I should figure out which episode this was and watch it again to see if we get closure on that... this is like Sheldon having to knock on the door three times isn't it? This is always going to bug me if we never find out how the play went. We don't even know what the play was! Catcher in the Rye? Cat on a Hot Tin Roof? Death of a Salesman? I dont think watching The Monster Isolation is gonna help here. =(

Sheldon spent his life growing up with these autistic tendencies, and Amy spent years training him out of them and turning/molding him into a functioning adult.
The smart thing would be for Sheldon to ask Penny to co-host his show. She would get exposure and demonstrate her acting chops. Sheldon would have an attractive co-host who might make his show more interesting and therefore more popular.
