Here's an idea: all three of them go to switzerland. Leonard and Sheldon can go see the Large Hadron Collider because Penny probably wouldn't be interested anyway, and the rest of the time Leonard and Penny can go skiing and do other valentines day stuff. Penny gets a trip to switzerland, Sheldon gets to see the LHC, and Leonard gets to be a good bf and a good roommate. Everybody wins
No if you a real TBBT fan you would know Sheldon isn't that easy to deal with... His constant poking would ruin their trip and Valentine's day

I once visited the CERN hadron collider in Geneva. I was deeply impressed. It is probably the most complex machine ever built my mankind and the dream of every engineer (and nerd of course)

Leonard actually had a way to take penny without breaking the roommate agreement. Sheldon added a section that allows Leonard to suspend their friendship. Because the wording here is “friend” and not “roommate”, Leonard could have signed that clause and taken penny without any violation of the agreement. He could honestly use that clause to stop Sheldon from doing pretty much anything with the agreement.

Well actually even i thought so at 1st...but there r a lot of issues....1stly university will only sponsor 1 guest...hence sheldon has to buy tickets separately which means he will have to sit separate from them...but since he is a petty traveler who cant.even travel in a bus alone he would demand penny to go separate...moreover there is the problem of rooms....again university will buy 1 room for probably leonard and penny but sheldon has to but a separate and provided he gets a room in the same hotel he will not want to stay alone...hence if sheldon comes along with them its no.use of penny going

The sad thing is... Leonard could have easily won. The roommate agreement specified only that Leonard would have to invite him. The Agreement never said he had to pay for his airfare or room or even the ticket to see the science thingy.

In the episode where Penny borrows money from Sheldon it is implied that he saves money and has a lot of savings. That means that he could go to Switzerland anytime if it's his lifelong dream to visit the CERN and the LHC. Everyone can visit it and it's for free. He just needs a plane ticket and a booking for the visit, that's all.
I know it's a sitcom and they have to make it funny but just as info.

Leonard is a bad friend a lot of the times he doesn’t honor a lot of things with his friends and has betrayed them multiple times. 1) pinkie swear with Howard not to go after Priya. 2) this example in particular where he violates the roommate agreement. It doesn’t seem like he can honor any promises or agreements he commits to. Why do a pinkie swear and why did he sign an actual contract if you aren’t going to mean it. It basically shows his character as spineless and deceiving just to get what he wants. At least Sheldon is upfront and honest and honors his commitments.

Agreed. The agreement says Leonard has to invite him, but there's nothing in the agreement that says he has to pay for or spend any time with Sheldon.
Sheldon could go to Switzerland by himself (or with the couple), visit CERN with Leonard while Penny is shopping and Leonard could have his romantic valentine, provide Sheldon is in a different hotel, or lots of fun (to us) if he is in the same hotel, and we could have some scenes with Sheldon and Leonard at CERN, thus popularizing science further more.

Leonard could use this to his advantage. "Okay it says if a FRIEND gets invited. Sheldon, am I your friend because friends do x y z" Sheldon would have to be forced to bend to Leonards demands or admit their not friends and thus nulls Leonard taking him to the LHC.

I’m 16 and I’ve been lucky enough to go to CERN with my school and it’s so interesting!! The complexity of the structures and machines that go into the hadron collider is so impressive and would highly recommend visiting it if you have the opportunity!!

Sheldon doesn't need money. He loan Penny $1800 and it is to be paid back when she can. Okay going by Sheldon Logic, Sheldon never needed a roommate in the begin to drive him so the whole thing falls apart. He is able to take the bus, (which is safer than a car)he can also walk. He can't take the bus because of the dirty seats, but thumbing through dirty comic books or eating in a restaurant is OK? Same germs so THAT would not happen. Nor would shopping for computer parts. In fact he would not come out of the apartment...or eat take out food because other people have handled it.
