- In this video we'll be having the first ever double top 10, in the first half of the video we'll go over the top 10 most represented monster types, and then the second half we'll go over the 10 least represented monster types.

To be fair, the quality of this video is higher than two of some of the old top 10s Duellogs made long ago combined, where the pace is slower and often repetitive whereas here is much more fast and direct on the point.

So its the joke of "I wonder why its so low... Everyone loves dinosaurs!" Cause dragons exist, and dragons are dinosaurs but just cooler.

@@RazanaArcclaw Twf most Dinosaurs in Real Life were closer to birds than to lizards, even in terms of appearance. in fact, Birds are technically Dinosaurs as they descend from them. Man, we've really made a lot of discoveries since the '90s.

All 3 gods and sacred beasts I think that adds up to 6 so basically your lodging is that one of the sacred beasts don’t count as divine ?hmmmm
Porcupine studios the Sacred Beasts are not Gods on the TCG, all the Divine Beast cards are the 3 Forms of Ra(Sphere, Phoenix and Battle Modes), Slifer and Obelisk
Dragons may be the fourth most numerous, but they are #1 in the amount of boss monsters being Dragon
And number one at being completely out of place in a not related archetype.
Clouds? Dragons!
Main character or Rival? 99 percent chance of a dragon!
Machine type? We still can call you dragon!
Sea serpent or Wyrm? Cmon, it's just a phase. You are actually a dragon.
Utopia? Get a nice dragon!
Boss monster? DRAGON!

Played against them in duel links. Great mass swarming mid range attack cards but from what I remember no targeted destruction effects and they're screwed if your play style revolves around effects activated on attack so I can't remember them ever beating me. Partially because me deck is largely centered around activate effect on attack cards like magician girls and combat traps.
Because the batteries are leaking acid everywhere and its terrible.
Just imagine if they were Machines though, they'd be so good

And here I thought Aqua or Sea Serpent would be the least represented types in the game, and that's because I never see anyone running decks with those types. I outright forgot Divine-Beast and Wyrm, and completely was unaware of Creator.
I would love a video similar to this one, but with Arch types!

Worst Archtypes would be a good video (I think he might’ve done one already actually...)
Best is highly subjective, cause there are many factors that go in to what would make an archetype good.
Not to mention a duelists preferred play-style.

Let's be real here, I would not have started my "Volcanic support meme" if pyro had good generic cards that can replace the lack of Volcanic support. Truth is, Royal Firestorm Guard from 2007 is actually the only good and playable pyro support that Volcanics can use. It's been 12 f'ing years and Konami has barely done anything to help pyro decks.

Because Rekindling was just too damn good, it had to get banned. I'm with you though, i've always loved Volcanics, even still have an old Volcanic stun deck sitting there. Not complete right now obviously as i've taken some cards out of it to use in other decks but it's there, waiting for it's time to shine once again. With my 3 secret rare Rocket's, and 3 Secret rare RFG's.

I've always thought that Aqua, Fish, and Sea Serpent should have been combined into one type. And combining Dinosaur and Reptile wouldn't have hurt either.
I've always felt that such weird types like Pyro, Thunder, and Aqua could have been just merged into a single "elemental" Archetype that would be made of monsters, creatures, and entities that represent nature's elements (basically elemental spirits).
It would be impossible for such a thing to happen at this point, but I feel like this should have been a thing in the past (seriously Konami, what the fuck is a Pyro or an Aqua supposed to be? Just anything generic that has something to do with Fire or Water?).

The real problem with metaphys is
1. They're grindy deck on otk meta
2. A lil bit hard to get and protect their spell and trap (and deck is more spell heavy)
*But they're quite fun to use, especially inferno tempest variant

8:16 It should also be mentioned that the Cyberse type was not only the only type of monster the protagonist of the 6th anime series used but several other characters also Cyberse only decks.
Salamangreat had the occasion to finally be a good pyro archetype... But no...
I find it kind of funny that Wyrms and Dragons are separate creature types considering that Wyrms in mythology are basically just a specific type of Dragon.
Kind of reminds me of world of warcraft after they added Mists of Pandaria. They called the new flying mounts Cloud Serpents and all I was thinking was " Aren't they just dragons?"

I think he's counting support as well. Dragons especially have a lot of really good support. Warriors are number one in part because they have so many monsters and such great support i.e. ROTA.
Adding to that is also how strong are those monster cards on that type

Honestly, I would've expected Beasts to be far more common for the same reason Normal is the most numerous Pokemon type. Also wasn't expecting Dragons to be behind machines.

Pretty amazing that there were both more Cyberse and Psychics than Sea Serpents as of this video, and only three fewer Wyrms. Imagine a creature type being in the game since the beginning and being that underrepresented.
Good video. I love that despite how this is by nature a video that orders these types, you made sure to point out that that doesn't necessarily mean they're good or bad. Like how mentioning that Thunder is a really good type despite being relatively low on the list.
This was a great video and I didn't know there were less Sea-Serpents then I thought.

I think there's so few dino types because their generic support is so good it's hard to design an archetype that wouldn't be broken. Can you imagine if dinos actually had a decent archetype alongside fossil dig, oviraptor, miscellaneosairus and UCT?

Because the Dragon and Spellcaster support cards are so plentiful compared to fiends that not putting them above fiends would be a disgrace.

Top 10 Equip Spells updated. There has been a lot of new Equip Spells added the game. You may want to make it a top 15 list because there are a lot of good cards to choose from.

Maybe he is basing this list on the amount of generic spell/trap support for each type and giving us the number of targets each type has for those spell/traps.

@@wickederebus but hope woven is a water/fish rank 4. Shark decks are good at making rank 4's, and it benefits from the shark support. Spiders and dragons cant do much with it

In the anime, I believe the Aesir were Divine-Beast, but that didn't happen in the card game because... I dunno. Would make them potentially interesting, I guess.

Probably because Konami thought saying that three new Norse gods were on par with the three old Egyptian gods would have pissed the old fans off.

@@wickederebus It seems from their anime appearances that it was also seen as a way to get Divine-Beast support made. Like, Solemn Authority was listed as such. Then all those cards were changed to strictly be Aesir support.

Top 10 warrior support maybe? Since they're the biggest monster type EVER, it would be really cool to see a ranking of their best cards. Plus I'm a sucker for the Hero archetypes like E D and V heroes, you could do honorable mentions or explain how certain cards boost the consistency of certain monsters within the warrior class.
Honestly, Konami should just rename Wyrm into Weaker-Dragon.

Huh. After I saw you naming off the Blackwing and Harpy support in the Winged Beast section, I was kinda hoping you'd talk a little more about the most famous or prevalent archetypes in each type. Like Inzektors and C's for Insects, Ojamas and Rescues for Beasts, etc. Still an interesting video nonetheless though, great stuff!

For those who wonder, the rest of the types are : Rock, Beast-Warrior, Plant, Aqua, and Cyberse
Honestly, I feel like holactice should be if you have the 3 named god cards on the field, you can special summon this card from your deck, graveyard, banished, or hand and win the duel. This effect cannot be negated. I really feel that if there is going to be card that can special summon itself from the deck it should be this card.

i really want more beast warrior types and support, i played Gladiator beasts way back when, i had a lot of fun with them.
It would be cool if u could make a video on ranking the attributes from top to bottom based on how much monsters have that attribute.

I might know why at least half of the most popular monster types are where they are. Each yugioh anime someone in the main friend group and the rival uses some of those specific types. Those specific types being spellcaster, dragon, warrior, fairy, machine and feinds.
A good vid topic is top ten best generic support cards. Unless you already did that. Or do a best archetype for each type
