An idea for that list: Judgement Dragon. It makes the mediocre Lightsworn Deck much better by having an easy summoning condition (involving Lightsworn Cards) and also a really good effect (Pay 1000 LP, destroy every card other than Judgement Dragon)
I could have sworn that it was Fire-Fists that actually made the card broken as hell. I know that card was *released* with Flamvell. But I thought it wasn't a problem until the Fire-Fist Archetype.
@@Rebellions That's pretty accurate. Flamvells were too mediocre to make much use of Rekindling. In fact, Rekindling stayed unlimited in the OCG because they hit Fire Fists instead of it.
Funnily enough, the best targets for Gateway are Mizuno and Shinai. With just 1 Gateway, and another Mizuho or Shinai on the field, you can infinitely summon the duo and have Mizuho tribute Shinai and pop herself. If you have ANY other source of Bushido counters (like the link that can search Gateway), you can get infinite counters just off that.
A.K.A That Grass Looks Greener. Maybe it's just potential pluses, but imagine you milled the top 20 card of your deck and have like 18 cards which have graveyard effects

@@madjester9844 i think kagari doesn t deserve to be on the list as she is still better used in an actual sky striker deck than it is as part of the drones engine. hornet drones should take its place instead since if drones would go to 0, sky striker wouldn t really care too much but all other decks would. i mean technically speaking, most of the cards mentioned aren t really better outside their archetype but are just generic enough for better decks to utilize its effects. stuff like isolde, electrumite, scorpio and terrortops are still awesome cards in their own archetype, it is just their own archetype isn t good enough.for example, noble knights has more mileage from isolde as it sets up 4 equips in the grave for an xyz to pick up. in a regular warrior deck you likely just set up 1 equip (phoenix blade), while the other equips are just garnets you get out of the deck. arguably, isolde does more for noble knights than for other warrior decks. anyway, the only cards which are truly worse in their own archetype are almiraj (useful in invoked, altergeist and buster blader for example, but not salamangreats), renewal of the world (-> useful in shinobirds, but not Ruin & Demise), m-x-saber invoker (serves no purpose in x-sabers, but madolche, gouki and clownblade uses him a lot) and well all the dangers, since you are better off using them as link fodder than using them as "win condition" Edit: oh ye. to point it out even though i mentioned: electrumite also belongs in this club.

A deck of Light and Dark reptiles that love to send themselves to the GY (several of their level 4 monsters can discard themselves to Foolish Burial a monster of their archetype of the opposite attribute and they even have an archetypal Foolish Burial that lets them summon any reptile from the GY if there are more than five reptiles in it, and they can easily special summon themselves from the GY either for free or by tributing monsters on the field, and many of them get effects when they are sent to the GY or special summoned from it. This deck is incredibly consistent with Snake Rain, as in REALLY consistent and is a very good Chaos engine and can even easily go into Vennominon beatdown
I've been going through tons of your videos after finding this channel. I only played yugioh during the Battle City era and the game has changed so much with all the power creep I would like to see a top 10 that isn't specific to cards, but more about times when the meta changed drastically due to power creep
You could probably jam half the list with just GX era formats like Chaos, Goat, Cyber Dragon/Exarion Universe release, DAD, everything I ever see about the GX era Formats is that it was pretty much a wild west of the game changing wildly every half year

Wait, I didn't realize the OCG had Gateway unlimited. That's insane. Sure, even if the Cannon Soldier-like cards are banned I'm sure there are multiple other degenerate loops you can do. Like Trishula looping. Banishing every card from your opponent's hand/grave/field is just a little bit extremely broken. Now I have to go look to see why people aren't Trishula looping each other in OCG. EDIT: Ah, it got put back on the limited list. That sounds about right.
You can FTK with Gagaga Cowboy and PSY Framelord Omega. But sill nowhere near as degenerate as that Infernity loop that basically disables every card in the game, one by one.

Masterpiece the True Dracoslaying King. Without it the deck lost immediately it's top tier status it had. Protection by two card types, and spell speed two banish or destroy I don't recall eff
in general, they are much easier to summon than fusion (which requires a fusion spell) or synchro (requiring a tuner and non tuner) link monsters are easier tho
I think on this list or at least as an honorable mention should be the Psy-Frame Field Spell card. That card is incredibly broken since you pretty much get a free Synchro Summon every time you use a Psy-Framegear card. And what makes it broken is that it doesn't lock you to only Psy-Framelord Synchros. Sure this card works only in pure Psy-Frame deck, but you can still use any generic level 7 or 8 Synchros which makes it crazy broken. Using Metaverse on the opponents turn and you won pretty much (trust me, that happened to me, but I was thinking of who to summon).
Shoutout to Lunalights, which have a foolish burial and extra-foolish burial for cost (Chick), reborn spell with a graveyard search (Perfume), zephyros-like effect (Marten), pendulum reborn that also revived on destruction (Tiger), all of which weren’t HOPT (except the reborn on destruction)
I played infernity when I played during that format and top decking infernity launcher pretty much won you the duel if your graveyard was set up for it.

The reason bardiche was banned was because it could search the rank up quick play spell that made them summon azathot on opponents turn, blocking the opponent to use monster effects on their turn
Rusty Bardiche was banned because you made it in orcust and ended with 2 fog blades on the field, also you could summon dingirsu from your grave to a zone it pointed to during your opponent’s turn for so much advantage.
Even with gateway of the six set at 1 it's in my opinion really good, I still have my op samurai deck an the fact they got new support make its more versatile
If he made enough top 10 of this it’d probably include elegant egotist, naturia sacred tree(maybe), and if rekindling could make the list than so could darkness metal dragon.
I'm a Six Samurai player, and I 100% agree, Gateway of the Six is absolutely broken. Not only is it easy to search, it's also easy to create an FTK deck or an infinite loop using it. You can use Heraldry Crest with Bamboozling Gossip Shadow to make a Ghostrick Angel of Mischief FTK Deck since all of those cards are either level 3 or level 4. You could even use this deck to easily summon Rhongomyniad since he's also a level 4. If your opponent uses Maxx "C", you could do an infinite loop with Mizuho and Shinai to deck out your opponent. You could even go for an even more meta way by summoning Borreload Savage, Accesscode, or Apollousa. All of this just because of one spell card.
As a frog player I would toadally be okay with Subtitoad getting erratad with a one per turn or even a hopt clause if it meant getting it off the banlist. Hell it could probably come back to 3 at that point with little to no issue
Another note about Royal Tribute and why it was able to come back to semi-limited (could even go unbanned soon) is because it doesn’t have ‘Necrovalley’ in its name so it’s not searchable
As an avid six samurai fan boy I feel I must correct you on the gateway infinite counters. Kizan himself doesn't allow the infinite loop. It is essentially a 5 card combo that requires 4 to start. You MUST have gateway, 1 copy of shinai, 2 copies of Mizuho, and one copy of any other card that adds bushido counters to itself(except shien's daredevil, but who runs that anyway). The way it works is if you have the gateway and another bushido counter card, you summon Mizuho(or your one shinai) in any way you possibly can, then you can ss the other monster(they allow you to ss themselves if you control the other). At this point if you only had the one copy of each of the monsters you can search out the second mizuho. ss it. then you simply use mizuho to tribute a shinai(when its tributed you MUST add another six sam from your grave to hand), and pop the other mizuho on field. The mizuho you pop hits the graves before the shinai's mandatory effect goes off and thus allows you to add that mizuho you popped back to hand. Then because gateway allows you to take counters from ANYWHERE on your field youll have enough to add shinai back to hand via gateway. Rinse and repeat from there and you go +4 on counters each time. this is the infinite. Kizan and gateway alone do nothing to cause any sort of loop for counters.
the drident pick is so wrong imo broadbull is by far the most broken zoo monster in the archtype if drident came off the list and broadbull stayed there nothing would happen if it were the other way around? with links? oh boy
Advanced Heraldry Art for Heraldic Beast used to be so broken back in the Zexal days because it was literally a one card XYZ that wasn't a once per turn, so you could multiple in a turn.
Gateway is banned. Hwon etarnenity lateare..... Becomes limited. Gets link monster that searches it. Is easy to summon. Also gets Bushido counters when a six sam is summoned. Insert "How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man?!?" meme here.
Still waiting for Top 10 Omni-Negates. Also a new idea for worst monsters that need to destroy monsters by battle. Like those cards that have less than 1500 ATK
Madolche Queen Tiaramisu for the Madolche archetype. It’s a pretty old Xyz Monster that lets you further your Madolche plays AND shuffles cards (and I do mean cards) your opponent controls into the Deck (or Extra). And the best thing about it is that she doesn’t target the opponent’s cards, so non-targeting protection doesn’t protect their cards. It’s a non-generic Xyz in a combo-reliant archetype, which is why I’m fairly certain it never hit the banlist. If they’d decided to make it generic, it would definitely be banned or at least Limited even today.
W Nebula Meteorite, W Nebula Meteorite, W Nebula Meteorite. If Worms weren't as slow as they are (being an archetype of mostly flip effect monsters), this card would be absolutely busted as hell and I love it. This card made playing Worms so much fun. They need a bit more support to improve their speed (like graveyard effects to special set monsters, or more stuff to force insta-flips, or better searchers to grab key cards like this).
I like how Royal Tribute has basically inverted due to the meta shakeup of a lot of top decks WANTING their monsters in the graveyard in 2022 YGO. Royal Tribute would very easily be capable of either going positive or negative depending on monsters in both hands.
Saqlifice for Qliphorts. Equip spell; monster can't be destroyed by battle. Gains 300 ATK. Can be used for 2 tributes of Qli monster. When sent to grave you get any Qli monster to hand.
Sylvan charity is pretty insane to me, despite being +0 it's a draw freaking 3 that also helps further set up your top deck and allows you to choose what you want to put back is so crazy. Also, before it got broken by needlefiber, mecha phantom beast olion was always insane to me for being a Tuner with a crazy good token generating effect plus allowing you several extra normal summons if you have multiples in your gy in one turn. Also that broken reptile card I forgot the name
The Sky Striker card would be much stronger if it didn't banish the cards post turn. That's a pretty hard drawback considering multiple link monsters effects revolve around how many spells are in the GY.
What about Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer? Non-once per turn search of ANY other Superheavy Samurai the moment it hits the graveyard from the field. You can search Scales to summon it back from the graveyard, search Trumpeter which can special summon itself for easy synchros, search Wagon to search ANOTHER Soulpiercer, and since it can also just equip itself to another Samurai so it can search if anything happens to that one. And remember, this is NOT once per turn and the only restriction is it can't search itself.
Funny Thing About SS Mecha Modules - Multirole is how much it was underestimated at the start. If u go back, Multirole wasnt considered to be that good first .. yet back then it was already broken af.
You should do a list of top 10 archetype cards so broken it limited their archetype’s card design. (Or 10 Broken Cards that are locked into a bad archetype) Because I can tell you that Crystal Abundance easily makes that list as it’s one of the most powerful cards I have seen... but the issue is that it limited how the card’s were designed both immediate cards and future design (look at Rainbow Dragon as a perfect example of a card limited by how broken some support cards are to a point that later cards must bogged g by bad archetypes:)
This is going to be a pain in the ass to do, but monsters who appeared in other cards. (Saw MrTopTenList's Yugioh backstories vids, some monsters are in a lot of cards) ie. Sky Striker Raye is in the artwork of almost all the cards of her archetype. BEWD and Dark Magician are in a lot of their support cards. Gagagigo and Winda have quite the stories within several card artworks. etc
I remember the days of when zoddiac drident was out a lot of players kept on proclaiming how how bad targeted removal cards were bad...but drident was overpowered for being a targeted removal
I guess that the next video would be about traps and spells related to an specific archetype, I could recommend top ten 10 iconic yugioh traps that could be great materials for a Critias summon
problems this list shows: 1- no resource management thing in yugioh is relevant, leading to balance issues 2- the hard once a turn thing: many problems the game had through the years and that eventually led to banning or limiting cards could have been avoided if konami realised the power level of cards and limited them in the first place.
Kizan and Grandmaster I believe is the only one who can special summon themselves without having one specific card from the Six Sam archetype. The wind attribute Legendary can special summon a Six Sam when Normal Summoned and Elder is like a mini Cyber Dragon. Miku is the one who Special Summon from the grave by banishing 2 Six Sam monsters from the Grave or Field. So letting others know that Six Sams don't have that self Special Summon all the time.

Saying Gravekeeper's aren't good isn't really fair, as for one, they did have their chance to shine, and for two, if they WERE given the same type of op support that other archetypes seem to get nowadays, they'd be borderline broken simply because of Necrovalley.
i disagree with drident being on the list rather than broadbull. broadbull is a generic r4 that gave zoo a ton of pluses from his ez summoning condition & non opt eff, and he even carried the deck after drident was banned in the ocg iirc
it's just a Geargigant X or Raidraptor Force strix, King of the feral imps, Granite loyalist type of card, I'd rather see him come back to 1 or even 3 than see Drident ever back, can you imagine decks like Pendulum or Salaman who can make rank 4s make it using one the 2 level 4 zoodiacs and then putting it on, I know it requires 2 spaces, but its still worth it
@@aminebachir3394 Broadbull was the only card out of the ones you mentioned that was put on the banlist. It's not just "another" searching XYZ monster. Unlike the other cards you mentioned Broadbull was part of, at the time, the most broken archetype at the time. Even after most of their cards got hit the Deck was still playable, thanks to Broadbull. This card is never going to 3! Never! The amount of combos and stupid things that will happen is not healthy. Broadbull was banned for a reason.

Yugioh DS game runs multiple copies of Gateway of the Six… Drew 39 cards of an Exodia FTK deck but had to survive one turn got FTK’d by the CPU with two copies that decided using Bushido counters to increase attack instead of summon a bunch of monsters was good enough for the kill

Sure, even if the Cannon Soldier-like cards are banned I'm sure there are multiple other degenerate loops you can do. Like Trishula looping. Banishing every card from your opponent's hand/grave/field is just a little bit extremely broken.
Now I have to go look to see why people aren't Trishula looping each other in OCG.

You can FTK with Gagaga Cowboy and PSY Framelord Omega. But sill nowhere near as degenerate as that Infernity loop that basically disables every card in the game, one by one.

It's pretty impressive that xyz monsters are the most common types of broken archetypal support cards. Even Bardiche was broken in an xyz spam deck
in general, they are much easier to summon than fusion (which requires a fusion spell) or synchro (requiring a tuner and non tuner)

I think on this list or at least as an honorable mention should be the Psy-Frame Field Spell card. That card is incredibly broken since you pretty much get a free Synchro Summon every time you use a Psy-Framegear card. And what makes it broken is that it doesn't lock you to only Psy-Framelord Synchros. Sure this card works only in pure Psy-Frame deck, but you can still use any generic level 7 or 8 Synchros which makes it crazy broken. Using Metaverse on the opponents turn and you won pretty much (trust me, that happened to me, but I was thinking of who to summon).
Shoutout to Lunalights, which have a foolish burial and extra-foolish burial for cost (Chick), reborn spell with a graveyard search (Perfume), zephyros-like effect (Marten), pendulum reborn that also revived on destruction (Tiger), all of which weren’t HOPT (except the reborn on destruction)

I played infernity when I played during that format and top decking infernity launcher pretty much won you the duel if your graveyard was set up for it.

Gateway of the Six is so broken, you can have really big pluses with a loop with Mizuho's and Shinai's.

The reason bardiche was banned was because it could search the rank up quick play spell that made them summon azathot on opponents turn, blocking the opponent to use monster effects on their turn

Rusty Bardiche was banned because you made it in orcust and ended with 2 fog blades on the field, also you could summon dingirsu from your grave to a zone it pointed to during your opponent’s turn for so much advantage.

I'm a Six Samurai player, and I 100% agree, Gateway of the Six is absolutely broken. Not only is it easy to search, it's also easy to create an FTK deck or an infinite loop using it.
You can use Heraldry Crest with Bamboozling Gossip Shadow to make a Ghostrick Angel of Mischief FTK Deck since all of those cards are either level 3 or level 4.
You could even use this deck to easily summon Rhongomyniad since he's also a level 4.
If your opponent uses Maxx "C", you could do an infinite loop with Mizuho and Shinai to deck out your opponent.
You could even go for an even more meta way by summoning Borreload Savage, Accesscode, or Apollousa.
All of this just because of one spell card.
As a frog player I would toadally be okay with Subtitoad getting erratad with a one per turn or even a hopt clause if it meant getting it off the banlist.
Hell it could probably come back to 3 at that point with little to no issue

Bringing back Zenmaity to 1 wouldn't reinvigorate the dumping loop. That deck could use their primary power card back.
As an avid six samurai fan boy I feel I must correct you on the gateway infinite counters. Kizan himself doesn't allow the infinite loop. It is essentially a 5 card combo that requires 4 to start. You MUST have gateway, 1 copy of shinai, 2 copies of Mizuho, and one copy of any other card that adds bushido counters to itself(except shien's daredevil, but who runs that anyway). The way it works is if you have the gateway and another bushido counter card, you summon Mizuho(or your one shinai) in any way you possibly can, then you can ss the other monster(they allow you to ss themselves if you control the other). At this point if you only had the one copy of each of the monsters you can search out the second mizuho. ss it. then you simply use mizuho to tribute a shinai(when its tributed you MUST add another six sam from your grave to hand), and pop the other mizuho on field. The mizuho you pop hits the graves before the shinai's mandatory effect goes off and thus allows you to add that mizuho you popped back to hand. Then because gateway allows you to take counters from ANYWHERE on your field youll have enough to add shinai back to hand via gateway. Rinse and repeat from there and you go +4 on counters each time. this is the infinite. Kizan and gateway alone do nothing to cause any sort of loop for counters.

Drident is "fair" compared to Broadbull he's the reason why the Lunalight Norden combo was a thing.
Rat also seems like an obvious pick over drident. Drident just isnt required when generic links/xyz can take its role.
Welp now Drident is at one and Zoo is surprisingly good even nowadays.

Advanced Heraldry Art for Heraldic Beast used to be so broken back in the Zexal days because it was literally a one card XYZ that wasn't a once per turn, so you could multiple in a turn.

Madolche Queen Tiaramisu for the Madolche archetype. It’s a pretty old Xyz Monster that lets you further your Madolche plays AND shuffles cards (and I do mean cards) your opponent controls into the Deck (or Extra).
And the best thing about it is that she doesn’t target the opponent’s cards, so non-targeting protection doesn’t protect their cards.
It’s a non-generic Xyz in a combo-reliant archetype, which is why I’m fairly certain it never hit the banlist. If they’d decided to make it generic, it would definitely be banned or at least Limited even today.
W Nebula Meteorite, W Nebula Meteorite, W Nebula Meteorite.
If Worms weren't as slow as they are (being an archetype of mostly flip effect monsters), this card would be absolutely busted as hell and I love it. This card made playing Worms so much fun. They need a bit more support to improve their speed (like graveyard effects to special set monsters, or more stuff to force insta-flips, or better searchers to grab key cards like this).
I like how Royal Tribute has basically inverted due to the meta shakeup of a lot of top decks WANTING their monsters in the graveyard in 2022 YGO. Royal Tribute would very easily be capable of either going positive or negative depending on monsters in both hands.

Sylvan charity is pretty insane to me, despite being +0 it's a draw freaking 3 that also helps further set up your top deck and allows you to choose what you want to put back is so crazy. Also, before it got broken by needlefiber, mecha phantom beast olion was always insane to me for being a Tuner with a crazy good token generating effect plus allowing you several extra normal summons if you have multiples in your gy in one turn. Also that broken reptile card I forgot the name
I can attest to the power of #08. Every time I drew it, I took control of the duel in the same turn.
The Sky Striker card would be much stronger if it didn't banish the cards post turn. That's a pretty hard drawback considering multiple link monsters effects revolve around how many spells are in the GY.

What about Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer? Non-once per turn search of ANY other Superheavy Samurai the moment it hits the graveyard from the field. You can search Scales to summon it back from the graveyard, search Trumpeter which can special summon itself for easy synchros, search Wagon to search ANOTHER Soulpiercer, and since it can also just equip itself to another Samurai so it can search if anything happens to that one. And remember, this is NOT once per turn and the only restriction is it can't search itself.
Funny Thing About SS Mecha Modules - Multirole is how much it was underestimated at the start. If u go back, Multirole wasnt considered to be that good first .. yet back then it was already broken af.
You should do a list of top 10 archetype cards so broken it limited their archetype’s card design. (Or 10 Broken Cards that are locked into a bad archetype)
Because I can tell you that Crystal Abundance easily makes that list as it’s one of the most powerful cards I have seen... but the issue is that it limited how the card’s were designed both immediate cards and future design (look at Rainbow Dragon as a perfect example of a card limited by how broken some support cards are to a point that later cards must bogged g by bad archetypes:)
Multi role can go +5 if you set the field spell as well.

This is going to be a pain in the ass to do, but monsters who appeared in other cards. (Saw MrTopTenList's Yugioh backstories vids, some monsters are in a lot of cards) ie. Sky Striker Raye is in the artwork of almost all the cards of her archetype. BEWD and Dark Magician are in a lot of their support cards. Gagagigo and Winda have quite the stories within several card artworks. etc
I remember the days of when zoddiac drident was out a lot of players kept on proclaiming how how bad targeted removal cards were bad...but drident was overpowered for being a targeted removal

problems this list shows:
1- no resource management thing in yugioh is relevant, leading to balance issues
2- the hard once a turn thing: many problems the game had through the years and that eventually led to banning or limiting cards could have been avoided if konami realised the power level of cards and limited them in the first place.
Kizan and Grandmaster I believe is the only one who can special summon themselves without having one specific card from the Six Sam archetype. The wind attribute Legendary can special summon a Six Sam when Normal Summoned and Elder is like a mini Cyber Dragon. Miku is the one who Special Summon from the grave by banishing 2 Six Sam monsters from the Grave or Field. So letting others know that Six Sams don't have that self Special Summon all the time.

Saying Gravekeeper's aren't good isn't really fair, as for one, they did have their chance to shine, and for two, if they WERE given the same type of op support that other archetypes seem to get nowadays, they'd be borderline broken simply because of Necrovalley.
i disagree with drident being on the list rather than broadbull. broadbull is a generic r4 that gave zoo a ton of pluses from his ez summoning condition & non opt eff, and he even carried the deck after drident was banned in the ocg iirc
it's just a Geargigant X or Raidraptor Force strix, King of the feral imps, Granite loyalist type of card, I'd rather see him come back to 1 or even 3 than see Drident ever back, can you imagine decks like Pendulum or Salaman who can make rank 4s make it using one the 2 level 4 zoodiacs and then putting it on, I know it requires 2 spaces, but its still worth it
@@aminebachir3394 Broadbull was the only card out of the ones you mentioned that was put on the banlist. It's not just "another" searching XYZ monster. Unlike the other cards you mentioned Broadbull was part of, at the time, the most broken archetype at the time. Even after most of their cards got hit the Deck was still playable, thanks to Broadbull. This card is never going to 3! Never! The amount of combos and stupid things that will happen is not healthy. Broadbull was banned for a reason.

Yugioh DS game runs multiple copies of Gateway of the Six… Drew 39 cards of an Exodia FTK deck but had to survive one turn got FTK’d by the CPU with two copies that decided using Bushido counters to increase attack instead of summon a bunch of monsters was good enough for the kill
Jowgen is the main reason because dragon rulers had to special summon a lot.
