True Lies is the product when actors have chemistry between them and truly enjoy being around each other...it reflects on screen. Another movie from the 90's that's the same way is Maverick. You can't deny the chemistry between Gibson, Foster, and Garner.

In my opinion this was Camerons last amazing movie. He had one of the most amazing movie runs from 1984 to 1994 with Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2, and True Lies. All of these 5 films can be watched over and over again.
It's because, of new millennium copyright laws because, him and many other directors and producers were thieves. It's even mentioned he stole the jokes he liked from the old writers. This is why movies suck since 2000.
It is weird how he just decided to plain old suck. I know people enjoy Titanic, but it doesn't come close to how people feel about The Terminator. Avatar was just mehhhh and don't get me started on this new AI remastering fiasco, absolutely baffling.
True Lies is absolute classic action film and it was the last big action movie from Cameron’s resume, the script was great, Tom Arnold & Bill Paxton were hilarious in the film.
It's funny when you think Arnold actually knocks Bill Paxton out during the scene where he lets him drive his convertible but unexpectedly it turns out to be a hallucination.

u know this is why i love the Joblo channel, u guys cover all facets of the movie entertainment industry and yes as a long time Cameron/Ridley and Spielberg fan I wud say that Cameron's Abyss is his most underrated and overlooked masterpiece which is finally finding love in the last decade or so. His Avatar movies r hit and miss honestly with the second part his weakest entry in his limited list of movies, very hyped and overcooked, he needs to do better in Avatar 3.

'True Lies' was/is excellent. I got to see it with my uncle and cousins in the theatre when i was a kid. The 90s was an excellent time for "A" and "B" movies, music and tv.

Poor Eliza, great actress, who stayed silent for many years. Good thing she finally opened up. It must have been hard for her to do that, especially since its possible her life was endangered on set. Props that the crew backed her up publicly. Other than that, I love this movie. It was one of "our family action weekend movies" my family loved to watch together.

One of my top fave Cameron films; Hell! Top fave action films. That Harrier Jump Jet bridge sequence was and still is awesome (I used to play parts of it back in slo-mo on VHS to study it). Wow The Abyss or True Lies? How do I choose? I actually read the novelisation of The Abyss I liked it so much (I rarely read "books based on movies"), but True Lies is just so sublimely hilarious and the chemistry between Arnie and Lee is perfect. I cant choose. They are both amazing and both are better than either of the Avatar films. To be clear I don't hate the Avatar movies the way most people seem to retroactively hate them (someone paid those box office dollars), but they just don't feel as fresh as some of his other films. Aliens is my fave of his. Great pacing, great acting, great line delivery. Just a masterclass action film.

Because True Lies turned out to be inferior to Terminator 2 (it is still a fun action movie); It failed to gross as much money as Terminator 2 as the result (500 million dollars VS. 375 million dollars worldwide).

Honestly I didn't know anything happened to it. I remember thinking it was an awesome movie when I was 11 and this hasn't made me feel any differently.
The only movie I have 3 copies of 1) Original DVD (yeah, I had the VHS tape, but ditched that long ago) 2) Spanish edition Blu-Ray (with English audio track), because it was the only way to get better resolution 3) 4k Blu-Ray (JoBlo may grouse about the transfer, but I think it looks great)

Last Action Hero had bad timing. It debuted weeks after Jurassic Park I think. It's underrated and really made fun of Hollywood at the time.
