6 or 7 weeks 😂
Plus, it’s an absolute pain to clean the brush! Hope you’re doing better, Wayne.
😂😂
That got me. I wasn’t ready! Hahahahah 😅
Killed me😂😂😂😂
a streak of failures week-long, doing it seven or eight times without realizing what is wrong, I guess he menas...
I LOVE the fact that you get straight to the point in your videos and that you keep them as short as possible! A big thumbs up 👍
Absolutely!!!! No overboard chatty crap!
Yes!
That deadpan ‘six or seven weeks’ got me 🤣🤣🤣
This is the kind of videos I like, short and straight to the point. Thanks, Wayne!
Longtime lurker, first time commenter. Wayne, your delivery always makes me smile. This old lady has learned so much from you. So glad you're feeling better after the shingles - had them once, just awful. Best wishes.
Thank you so much. Thank you xx
I couldn’t agree with you more, Wayne always makes me laugh. I was wondering about his shingles as well. I’m sure he’ll give another update💞
I remember an older workmate teaching me at 16 to put it in my palm to warm it, then dab little dots & brush lightly one section at a time. Im 61 now. Its been a while.
🤩
I've always just dotted the foundation on my face in small sections and blended before moving on and never understood the brush full of foundation method. Thank you for letting me know I'm not crazy.
I’ve used the same method for years and it works well
What I do is apply the foundation (a small amount) directly onto the brush but then use the brush to dot it over the skin. This ensures that there is very little product on the brush so it won't get over saturated. Then I blend exactly as Wayne has done and get the same result (sheer coverage). If I need more coverage, I pat/dab the foundation brush with the left over product over those areas. I don't like using my hands (palm or finger) to apply the foundation because this often results in getting the handles of my brushes (and anything else I touch) dirty. I know I could just wipe my palm/finger off before using the brush but inevitably I still get foundation all over everything on my desk, products, or handles.
I only use my hands to apply the foundation and to dab it into my skin. To apply rouge or powder I use a synthetic brush to avoid torturing the animals whose fur is used for brushes.
Same. I grew up in Florida so never really used foundation for Many, many years. Once I got older I just put a couple dabs on and, yes, blended with my fingers… I’ve tried the brushes, I’ve tried the make up sponges and I just keep going back to using my fingers. For some reason I get much better results with my fingers than I do using any tool.
I see so many influencers on RUclips applying WAY too much foundation, concealers, etc. When I'm watching, I'm yelling, "Stop! Stop! That's way too much!". They rarely listen to me. 😂
😂
😂😂😂😂😂
@@cs-yq5ed Yes your right or what gets me is alottt of these influencers go crazy heavy with the blush and it looks awful!!! I am screaming at the screen, like please stop with the blush!!!😂
I just don’t understand why they don’t listen….😅
@@nanaslovesbecause it looks better on camera to put on that much concealer
Man, this is why I’ve loved watching you for what seems like so many years now - you explain techniques that we all need to learn succinctly and clearly with both the why’s and they how’s as though I learn something every time. Thanks for all you do for us Wayne!
Thank you so much x
Just keep in-mind... if your skin has flaky dry spots or the skin itself is dry, brushes will exfoliate the dead skin leaving any product looking a mess. Always exfoliate & moisturize 30 mins or more before make-up application.
Mr. Goss has immaculate skin!
✨💖✨
Good you said that! Wayne also has oily skin and that - imho - always looks better with a base.
I finally found an SPF (SPF 50 A+++ or sth. Korean) that's also very moisturising. It prevents any pilling through layers. I always clean my face, add my SPF - two full stripes on the backs of my ring, - and middle finger - then dress. By the time I'm ready to apply makeup my moisturiser slash spf has sunk in and I can 'paint'.
Still, I don't think I'll ever be a fan of foundation.
💯%. Dry skin in a pain to have.. totally right saying it exfoliates! I often have to start again as the foundation leads to lots of little white flakes on my face 🙄. It’s a fine line between exfoliating and damaging sensitive skin. Some days nothing works and it’s a stay-in-the-house day!!
I wear Skinfix Barrier Cream and I wonder if my CC Cream smeared because I didn't wait? It was also sitting in my nose pores.
BB cream for me. Light, no hassle. I use your method.
Just love your cheeky humour! So true! ❤
I’m a hands person and apply most of my makeup using my fingers, of course my hands are clean; and I have a warm moist towel to take the lotion, serum, foundation and other cream products off my hands once I’m done then do a regular hands wash.
I like the feel of the products against the skin of my face using my fingers, and sometimes my palms-and I’ve done it for so long that it comes natural to me, when I use brushes or sponges it feels weird.
Thanks for this tip and the quick and easy fun demonstration Wayne, you’re the best. ❤
Recently I put on CT flawless filter 75% and adding 25% with a foundation both dotted on .Combined less then a pump
Then with my hands I work it in . Then with a damp beauty blender I blended it in further .
It’s fast and I get sooo many compliments from friends and strangers that my skin is so pretty and glowing
Keep a wipe or towel handy to clean your hands
Thank you, Wayne. I hope you're feeling better these days💖💖💖
He's the best, and his skin is to die for!!!
I’ve never taken one single makeup class and I have never pump my foundation directly on my brush. It sounds odd to me. Especially with liquid ones, the brush gets crazy wet and the bristles stuck together. Always did the dots. It allows more control and leaves your brush more dry.
Thank you I am guilty of the foundation on the brush, don’t put a lot but don’t always get the effect I want. Try to wear as little as possible as I am older and don’t want to look fake. I have learned to embrace my age and the changes that come with it. Hope you are feeling much better. Get some rest, takes more out of you than you realize when you are not feeling well. Take care and stay safe. I am makeup free for awhile the average temp is 101. I live in the Midwest in the USA and it is hot everywhere! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like to use a damp sponge. Less is definitely more.
ha-ha- 6-7 weeks to blend out your foundation! But I have been trying the palm method lately and it has worked better than any other technique I have ever used. Thank you for your videos!
I’m so glad you’re here to set the makeup rules the right way.
I use a small painters pallet to put a pump of foundation on.
Love it❣️ Straight and to the point. It didn’t take 6 or 7 weeks to explain it 😂
Actually, I never made that mistake. I never used a make up brush for foundation, until I started watching your videos. So, I just did what you did. You have always, generously, shared great technique. Thanks!
I find applying all over with your fingers and then going over with a beauty blender works best and saves a lot of product
I had shingles in my 20s. It was awful. I'm glad you're feeling better!
I just came across your videos! I have learned more in the last week than in my 65 years! Thank you for all your helpful tips! I can't wait for more to come😊
I love my blending brush using a stick foundation. Love this channel !
Thank u...I have to dilute a little foundation with aloe gel, put it on my face with my fingers and then press my sponge onto my face to remove excess...less is better for me everytime.
Love it, I always used the tiny bits of foundation on my face and after used the brush, also, we need to be very picky and true with the shade of foundation, spending a bit more on a good brand and the right shade makes a world of diference, as always a great video Wayne, thanks.
I'm a few seconds into your video and I must pause to control my laughter----6 or 7 weeks!!!!! Love it!! Now I will continue on.☺
Thank you for the great information. I choose to use the first method. Great application.
Lately I use a mixing palette to put my foundation on... while this way it's not blended into my hands' skin I have to use far less for a better result. I dot the brush into that little foundation so it's fully absorbed by the brush and I'm surprised how well and how little I actually need. Great tip Wayne, the way you described is perfect.
I love ❤️ your "palm-of-the-hand palette" 🎨 approach... superior coverage with less product... two payoffs, really sensational actually... seems better than beauty blender/sponge. 💯
Thanks Wayne, you look good. Shingles all under control?
Better! Thank you! xx
Agree with you Wayne. The first option is how I apply my foundation but I use the top of my hand; not my palm. Thinking about trying the palm method. ❤
Missed this video, but was watching Pattie applying her foundation using your technique , it looked brilliant I’m going to try this , thank you very much 😊
You have no idea how many compliments I get on my foundation daily. Every last thing I’ve learned over the years has been from you. I tell people that too and they should check out your RUclips.
Me too. I've used all of his tips for years and I am 60. I get compliments a few times a week. I always tell them about Wayne and even ask if I can write it down for them.
@@tvc153 it’s crazy isn’t it? I’m no pro at all so I’m not taking the credit for it haha. It really has so everything to do with the technique.
Hi Wayne I've always just dotted the foundation and used the brush. It works out great every time. ❤
Good format of vid, quick and straight to the point. Any suggestions of drugstore foundation for a 45 year old woman with normalish skin, who never wears foundation, but now needs it cos skin is uneven.🙏🏻
I always struggled to apply my Kevin Aucoin sensual skin enhancer. Using the palm method : perfect! Thank you Wayne!
Omg I’m doing this tomorrow. Thank you Wayne ❤
I always listen, and practice your suggestions, and this one works very well for me. I use a BB cream instead of foundation, and apply it to my skin with a brush. I get great results from doing it this way. Thanks for another wonderful tutorial. You are the best!
Going to try the second technique tomorrow. I always disliked using a brush for foundation, now i know where i was going wrong! Thank you Wayne 😁
Yay! I’ve been doing something right all these years!! I’ve used EL’s Double Wear since it was first introduced. One pump, dotted and then blended just as you’ve demonstrated, gives me full coverage. I literally gag at the amount of foundation some “influencers” slather onto their faces. I don’t care how much you blend it, or how young you are, that amount of goop is going to cake and crease. Thank you for keeping it real. You’re the only beauty influencer who influences me 😂 ✌🏼
Such a good tip actually! Never even considered putting it in my palm first and diffusing it onto my face in smaller amounts. Bet it looks more natural too.
Great method! My foundation has been looking crappy lately, but that’s because my skin is getting so dry for some reason; I’m normally oily. I’m scheduling an appointment with the Dermatologist. My skin has been like this for months. My foundation doesn’t look like it used to 😬
I like 👍 the title of the video!😂 especially the emoji. I have seen other makeup 💄 professionals online, but for me your the best at makeup and teaching. You mention things that I notice other makeup artists don't bring up,that you do.and your good at your talent ✨️. I have learned alot from your videos. I appreciate it. 😊
I thought you were going to say 6 or 7 minutes. Lol.
My foundation doesn't look like shit Wayne🥰
I use a blob of tinted moisturizer with a drop of facial oil on the BACK of my hand and use my fingers to apply it. It looks nice Wayne💃 🥰
I agree. Sponges soak up too much product. The other thing I do is finish with a downward motion to smooth down any of the tiny hairs.
Dermaplane to remove hair
Thank you Darling! I'm going to try this out.
I have been using this technique 👌 Thank you! 😁 This works amazingly well! 🤗
Thank you for this tip! I’m guilty of doing it and it does make my foundation application not the best, and I blame it on the foundation! Wonderful!
Idk 🤷♀️ why I didn’t try this before, I thought it would be enough coverage it was great, got compliments, first try 💕
When you have vascular rosacea like i do, brushes are terrible. I've had nice brushes( gave to my nieces) sadly i can't use them...exasperates my rosacea. I use airbrush foundation and concealer
I have this also and I can’t use a brush at all for my foundation as it just makes my face hurt . Its light fingers and a beauty blender for me .
@Weeflowerofscotland ive tried those too(beauty blenders)..i have to use airbrush
Can you please try Scott Barnes concealer hack? Where he puts aquaphor under concealer
❤❤❤ Wayne! Excellent ideas and really great video... As usual😅 I love your humor and it helps me to actually remember your techniques! I hope you are feeling much better now! ❤❤
I spray my brush with fixing spray before swirling it into the foundation in my palm and I think it is easier to apply and looks smooth.
Greetings from Germany
Brigitte ❤
Beautifully demonstrated
I started using the foundation-in-my-palm method and it works beautifully IMHO .. and I tend to use less product as well.
I was hoping this would be about making your foundation sweat proof :( You've probably done that type of tutorial before but I can't remember. This tx heat is the worst it's ever been, it's dragged on.. started super early and there's been many days or nights that are 80 to 90% humidity. It's insane!🔥🔥🔥🔥☀️☀️☀️☀️ I don't even bother to put makeup on during tne day if I'm gonna be outside cause it's just gonna melt off fast!
Short sweet and to the point, love your videos!
You’re still the man Wayne!!!!
Brilliant. I’m totally guilty of this and will not be doing it again. Thank you
Can you please say when your waterproof mascara is going to be available again? It's by far the absolute best mascara ever and I'm desperate to get a hold of it. I'm 60 yrs old and it actually gives me the look if false lashes. Please give us a heads up 🙏. Love you Wayne!
I've never glopped my foundation onto my brush. I put some foundation (actually about the amount that you put on your palm) on the back of my hand and then apply to my face. As you said I'm left with a bit of stain and that's it. I used to use a sponge the same way but prefer a brush now and sometimes it's a damp brush.
You have such beautiful skin!!! everything looks so well put together on your face!!! Is there a good cream you would suggest to put on the face before foundation please and thank you!!!
Explains a lot about some of my results
Thank you!
Hi Wayne, I love all your tricks of the trade ,thank you so much for educating us with application, long lasting results, and saving us money by using less product. Love Katherine xoxo
Yes, you are so right, Wayne. Thank you!
Great video Wayne. Never understood the whole pump on the brush thing. Same as pumping straight on to the face - pump on the cheek, same again on the other cheek. I would look a real mess with 2 pumps of foundation on my face. Then they wonder why the foundation looks streaky or cakey 😂😂😂
Love your straight to the point content, so informative but delivered in a “coothy” way ❤ 6 - 7 weeks 😂
You are looking well! Good video.
Hi Wayne love this straight to the point , great humour and skin . Glad you are feeling better after the attack of shingles so painful . I’ve had shingles long time ago but I remember it well 🤗❤
Looking like a bronzed god Wayne! summer has arrived 😀🌞 🏖️
takes 6 or 7 weeks 🤣 Love, love, love it!
Love the humor, great advice, thank you…wondered why it took a week or so to get my foundation on. 😀😁😂🤣
Thanks Wayne. 😊👍🏾
Remember a good skincare routine can change a lot of things and your makeup will start looking flawless mark my words ! You need few stept routine but do it 6 out 7 days each week, 1 day a small break!
I was watching a little thing about French beauty and they claim that foundation ages your face... Now as a person who has stopped wearing foundation bc it shows every wrinkle I have xs 10 I agree with this.... I have never looked good in foundation even if its good foundation..... I just use tinted S.P.F....and it seems to do the trick...
I am 48. I used foundation at least 20+ years. I only fund it exaggerated lines because I can no longer use the type of foundation I was used to - oil control and long lasting. I cannot take too thick layer either now. Now I focus on light coverage, hydrating and it looks fine.
I’m 77 and now use L’Oréal Nude liquid face tinted serum. Goes on like a dream and it’s really reasonable. I use 2 shades, light one for round my eyes and darker for my cheeks. Comes in a stupid bottle with a rubber dropper which is impossible but other than that it is perfect.
@JillLawton-zt8me yes! I am using the same product too! Love it!
@@fornighttan I have used Estee Lauder for years but it is too thick now.
@JillLawton-zt8me lol, me too! Used to love doublewear light but they discontinued it.
6 or 7 weeks!!!!! LOL over here in NYC, Wayne!!! Usofunny! Best wishes to ya.
I hate using my fingers. 😂 I'm going to try doing it this way, it makes sense. Thanks!
i don't like brushes at all i love my fingers/hands and i feel awful cus i gotta beautiful brush as a free gift with my Yensa order but i think i'll just rise it and save it for blush or setting powder lol
I clicked on your video once I saw the title. Thanks for the great tips, definitely going to try the first method.
Wayne, I so hope you're feeling better ❤
I pump just enough on the top of my hand-then I dot the area I’m working on & blend then move on to the next area adding a dab more to the top of my hand if I need to :)
This was great! Just a quick tip to remind me why I love you. 💕Phenomenal makeup artistry, humor, and useful/purposeful education. Keep up the amazing videos. 🕊️
Side note I am a makeup brush little slüt and I neeed your brushes!! But soon I’m going to splurge and get the whole set! ❤
Hope you’re feeling better!
That’s why I have been wasting money and product!!! Perfect 👌🏻
Using brushes always seem to make the pores on my nose look hideous, even when a pore filling primer is used. I always ended up with applying with brush on the rest of my face but nose, using fingers and beauty blender type of sponge.
Holy Crow that ‘s how I applied makeup all these years no wonder it didn’t look so good by the end of the day hmmm so Thank you and I’m going to do this from now on. Wish me luck that I don’t go bk to my old ways lol Just love your videos and advice wish you were my neighbor I’d give you a Giant Hug 😊😊
"6 or 7 weeks" LOL. Priceless♥
Trying this next time! I always have challenges with a more cohesive finish
Your so subtly hilarious, thanks for the info too!
Really! People actually apply the foundation directly on the brush. Never heard of it and what a dumb idea if they do. I like your dot and blend technique .
Nailed it. Thank you so much.
Wayne hi 👋😁 I'd love to see your recommendations on foundations for dry skin.
My favourite foundation, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum was discontinued a couple of years ago and I still haven't found something that I like.
The Healthy Mix Serum actually left my fav feeling hydrated by the end of the day.
Would love any recommendations!
Thank you for that tip. I was putting it on the brush first.
Wonderful tip! Thanks Wayne as always 🥰
