Even though I completely understand the science of all these different ingredients and the amount of lather does not correlate to cleaning ability, I still prefer the feel of a thick shampoo with high lather. It makes me "feel" like it's doing a better job at cleaning even though it doesn't make a difference. I guess my thought process is "more bubbles, more surface area, more cleaning." lol

The point about thickness of product made me happy because I’ve noticed certain textures etc might curl better with a runnier conditioner (myself) than a thicker conditioner; thick conditioner makes my hair mushy lol Important as a consumer and as someone who plans to sell in the future

Hello Gabby, sorry if this comment is long but I made a simple shampoo with African black soap and used citric acid and xantham gum and discovered it turned out thick as a gum so I just used citric acid as a thickener.
Today I learnt what a shampoo consist of and I really want to improve my shampoo but still keep using the African black soap and herbal extract, what do you advice?
After a month a found out the oil in my shampoo clumped together and I still don't know the cause.
I believe in herbs and am trying to use them in all or almost all of my product but am still trying to figure it out.

@@Ashley-eb2eq Didn't she used to work at a well known name-brand lab? You would certainly need a degree for that I'm sure. Or am I thinking of somebody else? About a year ago there was a black woman I was watching who was making hand sanitizers and lotions and stuff at the lab at her work and she explained the process and science behind it. I thought for sure it was Prolific Gabrielle because the name sounded familiar. I guess I was wrong.
