It looks like it has a 3 axis gimbal. Pretty impressive. I had been wondering why nobody had come up with a drone with a 3d camera. Now it’s here!

That’s really cool. I know you don’t usually do it but can you take the drone apart and check to see if the internals say DJI on them or at least match the internals of a Phantom 2 or 3? I think it would be awesome if you could do a tear down video. You can always match the internals to photos of the internals of the Phantom 2/3 online. Thanks, really enjoyed the video and love your channel brother.
The 3D part of the review, as super short as it was; was absolutely amazing. You do t need the VR headset to see the 3D. Just put your phone in to full screen, bring it close to your eyes untill they go cross eye and a 3rd combined image pops up right in the middle of your vision and it's full 3D, it's Amazing!!!

I bought one of these a year ago. It was £400 then and now it's £250. I was attracted to it by the option to pre-load a flight plan from my PC (using Mission Planner or QGroundControl). I'd rather do this at home with a mouse and big screen than outside tapping my phone when it's -10 C ! You need to alter the options on the 3-position switch so that one position selects the pre-loaded mission. You can do this with QGroundControl. When you switch to the mission the UPair 2 does execute it correctly.
Connecting the drone to your PC is a bit fiddly as you have to slide off the gimbal to get at the micro USB port which is hidden underneath. The gimbal is still attached through its ribbon cable so you need to handle it with care. I was disappointed that the mission options were a lot more limited than are available with a DIY flight controller like a Pixhawk. For example you cannot connect the way points by smooth curves, only straight lines. Also the height changes at the way points in steps rather than smoothly between way points.
I was also disappointed that the camera was a lot more “fish eye” than I had expected from looking at RUclips videos. I also think the 3D view is a bit of a gimmick. It's not practical to us it for FPV flying because it doesn't display any flight data like range, height and speed.
I think I was unlucky because I couldn't get the app to run on my Huawei Y6. I dug out an old phone running Android 6 and this would connect but the FPV display broke up completely if there was the slightest movement on the screen. I contacted the manufacturers who said it was because the phone was too old. Eventually I gave the drone to my son and it worked perfectly on his phone.

This is a very interesting stereoscopic format. This may be an early iteration but with the growing popularity of FPV on-board acrobatic footage it is not hard to imagine an audience for full-immersive stereoscopic POV flights

Even if the landing kit saves the gimbal/cam on impact , due to the mass of the gimbal/cam is likely to break despite ....

ohh interesting. first thoughts was hmmmm wonder if this can be used for photogrammetry using drone footage. but i dont think it will work well. but i can imagine you can click and go back to main cam. rather than the duel.

The 3d is nice. The controller looks larger as you moved.
Looks more 2 than P3 but still massive and DJI loud. The Camera seems more gimmick to me. Wa it the cold because the Gimbal was really jerky when you moved it, to me anyway. I do like it seems like maybe they did buy the designs from DJI. Great video 14 degrees please spare me. I'm in Western Iowa we've had Snow 5 times since the beginning of October. I know not much you say but for us it's like oh no! Gonna take a closer look at this, might be a hard sell, Mrs. Droning just bought me a new Macbook Pro so I gotta ease into it! have a great day. We really all still have so much to be thankful for!
Great review, thanks. I tried the 3D thing with my cheap VR google and it is kind of cool. I always wanted to mount 2 camaras on my FPV drone and merge the footage like this drone does. UPair beat me to this. You do not have to run any VR app, just the regular RUclips video inside the VR box.

Was out flying a week ago at the big nickel and froze my fingers pretty good there too.
OMG, I just had a watch of Dustin Dunnill flight testing the DJI Mini2, put out today. Compare poor Steve freezing his bojangles off on the same day that Dustin is in shirtsleeves in that sweet Hawaiian autumn weather. Man, I want to go back to Hawaii some day, get out of this raininess here in southern England.
I have to move to Hawaii... Dustin looks sooooo relaxed & lives on an island that has zero flight restriction rules for drones... or he just doesn't follow them :-)

I've had 6 of those UPAIR 1.2 and that one and they're like the ZINO's it will let you down and crash or fly away. Wow the price has really come down, they were around $600 for that new (1 year old) model

Oh I forgot to mention that I came up with the idea of putting a cheap pair of those disposable vinyl thin gloves on they keep the cold off your hands pretty good just cut off the tip of one for touching the app screen works pretty good.

Almost looks more Phantom than the actual Phantom. Seems a decent piece of kit. I do like the idea of the 3D function. Sadly it also has the lack of portability that comes with this style. I do wonder if they have bought licences from DJI to produce what really looks like a modified P3 clone.

If I freeze the split screen parts of your video if I get back from the screen I can cross my eyes to merge the two images in the middle and I do get a 3D effect.
looks like a great drone for the money gimbal was a bit jerky when tilting down though it might have been the cold.

I love how each time i watch a video the temperature is dropping. Until -10 i kind of thought not such a big deal - i noticed this drone a little while ago, no idea what it was (nor do i fully get the VR idea but it sounds fun, if you have the equipment,) i wonder if this will be copied

Rightho so I've got the drone and yes you can use it for fishing, it's able to lift 500 grams but does have a problem actually flying with it.
However it does a good job with two hook's and bait + a sinker.
But, yep there's a but, the gimbal stopped working after 3 flights well it kinda works at horizontal level but when I point it down it jolts back up.
Banggood only sends standard replies like " we never wished to see you in chaos" not very helpful!
And the email address from G10 drones (Upair) bounces straight back to my inbox, also not very helpful!

Just bought a brand new in the box for £25 with a dead battery , revived the battery carefully jobs a good un, got to give it a good test.
Gave it a test , it’s an impressive drone.
Buyer beware as you can’t get replacement batteries , but I’ve opened it up and there is scope for modifications.
