Steve as always awesome review, because of the horizon issues I won't be purchasing this drone until they fix the issue. I would like to see another review of this by you, covering in detail the features. You never disappoint, I appreciate your honesty and dedication to an awesome video, thanks again.

Always been a Hubsan owner with many types of drones they make but this one is not on my list yet because of the many dissapointing reviews from guys like us in Canada ( you know who you are) and some very good reviewers from the States. This one is a hurry up and wait approach. My original Zino is still going but do not do any updates our you could brick the thing so buyer beware is the way to go at this time. I have a Zino Mini Pro (ZMP) and feel that Captain's review was accurate and very thorough. I like the 80% vs 95% comparison but as I'm not a DJI owner I'm not in a position to compare but the ZMP is great to fly and produces good video and stills. However, are we in a position now where the software is as important if not more important than the hardware so the fact that the ZMP has a larger sensor is maybe not so important any more? I've seen some great Mini 2 videos. I would love to hear some comparisons in this regard. Another factor is that the ZMP takes RAW photos but this is not yet implemented properly so is not yet useable (The 80% thing). I'm looking forward to this feature. In summary, this is a great drone, IMO, but my experience to date is with far cheaper drones than this. Well done Hubsan.
Great!!! I've already wrote to Hubsan, as a trick, to integrate a small fan integrated with a new battery even if the autonomy is lowered but I think that if it were even only 15 minutes real, the fun is still guaranteed. In this way, 2 problems would be solved: the discussed weight below 250 grams and the temperature. A battery built with the necessary air intakes, even if little, would ensure good ventilation and heat dissipation. This idea has already been sent to Zolly as well :)
@Lon Denard Maybe I misspelled myself. I didn't say anything needs to be added but it's the battery that needs to be resized to fit a cooling fan. The resized battery, of course, will have less duration and even if it should last 15 real minutes, I repeat, in my opinion, it is more than enough to ensure the fun :)
I got this drone and was so excited about it. After getting it out the box I struggled to set it up. Then I managed to get it in the air for 5 minutes before a heat warning came on. Landed it and the thing was super hot. Could have fried an egg on it. Then I got it up before I got usb disconnected and it never connected to my phone again. Also the obstacle avoidance is impossible to set up without a pc which I don't have which they could have said. Then I got a DJI mini 2 as a replacement. Sure it doesn't have all the features but at least it works and works well!
One of the best reviews I've seen. Great job and I love the details. I have a Mini 2, but I want this drone now. Thanks again for such an in-depth review!
I bought the hubsan zino mini pro and I love it! For me it controls perfectly for my liking! HOWEVER, the charger I don’t care much for the batteries sit too loosely on it and that is the only flaw for me so far others very happy. Thanks captain drone for best of the best reviews!
@@sixeight6 it was decent for a bit but now it no longer is shooting it’s WiFi out so I cannot get it to connect to my phone and only have maby 10 flights with it. It’s been a decent drone up until then
@@sixeight6 your right customer service does suck. I have the hubsan care refresh or what ever it is but it still around 230$us to send it back and have a new one shipped back to me, don’t know if it’s really worth it.
Very honest review with ALL the pros and cons... Your opening gambit says it all about this Drone and Hubsan in a Nutshell.. We're alpha testers and patience is what you will need if you buy this Drone.. In Bucket fulls.. Best effort yet by Hubsan but they have a long haul ahead to get this Drone up to speed. Yes this little Drone has all the Bells and Whistles but, and this is a huge but, the Camera footage is awful to date with jello and massive color shifts and surely that is the whole point of an aerial Drone at this price point to make great movies. If Hubsan nail the poor camera this indeed will be the contender for the Crown
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 That's why I subscribed to your channel.. Lots of product variety, Interesting, not overly complicated, informative and honest.. NO... thank you Steve
As always. Great review cap't. I think I heard this in another review. That bottom piece that comes off should only be left on if you are doing something like a firmware update and you lay the drone down on something. That protective piece should be put on as the bottom gets super hot and you wont burn what is under the drone. Waiting to see if it eventually goes on Amazon. I don't buy drones or any RC from China!!! If you have issues then good luck with that.
I was on the fence with Zino Mini Pro and DJI Air 2. I found out my Verizon Samsung A71 wasn't supported to download the DJI Fly app from Google Play. The A71 will load DJI Go 4 for my Mavic Air. So, I ordered the Zino Mini Pro today. Thank you for your honest reviews and straightforward comparisons.
That’s impressive where else would I find out about things like the 2 high - low resolution files and the 80% and 95% production rule? As for the Hubsan let’s hope the flash storage doesn’t get corrupted.
For a drone with weight less than 250g, massive internal memory storage (64-128 GB) and comes with the avoidance sensors is considerably great. But because of the way Hubsan works (referring to the late update / upgrade firmwares and some cases take too long time to respond) with some technical issues. I will put this drone in the third or fourth place. I will go for other options unless if the Hubsan can fix all those technical issues. It is pretty ironic that Hubsan removes the memory card slot and install zoom in feature but can't be transferred to the final video production and the video feed is unavailable as long as you don't fly it.
Zino sound very good if their software update or app would be support for years and years go for zino I choose mini 2 It's all i need pretry relieable also I could find more part when I need to fix them
the two different video files that is save is for, the large resolution is your original file. The other small resolution file is use for stream if you want to watch it on your smartphone so that it transfer fast rather than buffering without taking off the sd card from the drone.. In other drone case they put the other small file from directly recorded from your smartphone and the original resolution is in the sd card for example in DJI you could see that the small resolution file is save on your phone..
I was really disappointed the Mini 2 didn't have any significant camera upgrade for photography. Since DJI went the SE route it makes me think we won't see a real Mini 3.
@Lon Denard most of the reviews I've seen of the Mini Pro have had a lot about them saying it holds it back. OA isn't a selling point for me. A lot of the bells and whistles on this aren't main selling points for me in a drone of this size. I'm sure I'll hold out for the next DJI Mini iteration. I was bummed out the SE wasn't any real upgrade and makes me nervous we won't see a Mini 3.
Yes hubsan is amazing but it not really globally sold. I live here in malaysia and it isnt available here unless i buy one from amazon which cost dollars. Which is expensive. Hopefully they make this more available everywhere
This is great.... So many items probably fixed by Firmware updates now. Would you consider doing a 2022 revisit of the issues with the latest Firmware installed? It would be great!!
Is a little beast...but i'm not rushing on it...maybe wait a few months and buy it...meanwhile having fun with my mini 2...and i going to suggest a test video idea...take those 3 minis and make a test of the RTH landing accuracy to see wich is the best at that...is known the zino mini pro have a feature to detect the landing pad...so what do you think Capt.? Are you up to that triple test?
starlinater10. Correct. Without competition, we'll end up having to wait years for companies like DJI and Autel to deliver new technology at an affordable price.
My Mavic pro is over 4 yrs now and it still blows my mind its like military grade. The range is more then i can use even using it for sassy hunting But always worried about loss now im its no worry id buy this to replace it So incredible the range we get ! Thats what 4k is all about post edit You can do it all so its not a flaw. Can you save the waypoint and know the Gps location?? Thats what i would like ro have If i fly over a target i want to be able to walk to it. Mavic wont. What about head set ? America you supposed to be line of sight Just hit RTH if ranger pulls up and keep talking until you hear it 🥳 Mine landed while talking made it look like it was right there. Joking for newbies. Dont do that.
This drone is quite impressive, looks like an upgrade to the mini 2 but also a downgrade. the features in this are great but the general quality that Dji offers is on another level. A good middle ground between these could be an autel mini drone.
When I first joined your channel I was a newbie too drones. Still no where near your skill level, but starting to consider fpv flight. I’ve had two DJI camera drones now. Maybe time too dip my toes, I’ve been watching many of your reviews on fpv. Thanks for all your terrific reviews.
Zino mini pro is literally the most advanced drone under 250 g... It is beautiful, superb and unique! The most surprising thing is the low light positioning lights and its battery is 750 mah more than the battery of Mini 2... Overall Fimi mini has tracking features but a bit less range. DJI Mini 2 has a longer range and quickshots. Hubsan Zino mini pro has obstacle avoidance and a longer battery life but it cannot take the zoomed photo and we have to fix the picture of panorama... They all are impressive... I think that the Mavic 3 pro is also going to be released in November as some news is there about it... I will wait for its review if it really gets released this november!
T-Hop-Aviation. Ask yourself, how is the obstacle avoidance front and rear on the Mini 2? Or the tracking features? When you have the answer then you have to tell yourself... It will be OK, DJI has my back and they will make a Mini 3 and when they do I'll say the Mini 2 is crap. You see how this plays out? Also, the Mini 3 is going to come out in two versions... One very expensive version that everyone will complain about due to the price, and one less expensive version missing all the great features. This is how these drone companies play the game. So if you Love ONLY DJI, then ya gotta pay the big bucks to get the same features that a drone from a lesser company offers. Certainly the DJI Version with the same features will be better but it will be costly.
@@Pionel_pessi. I think you are right... I have a Mini 2 and it is so powerful and durable. DJI is much more famous too as Hubsan is not available everywhere... I also think that they will make a Mini 3 and Mavic 3 Pro, (i also hope for a Phantom 5 though...) And they will also be much more advanced as they will be the latest models.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Costly ×1.28 in India Steve! (I did a simple calculation) If the Mini 3 gets released in the following year, it will probably cost 1000 US dollars and if I am right, than it will cost about 1280 US dollars here which is not at all a good thing! What do you think about the Mavic 3 pro and Phantom 5 pro Steve?
@@FahadKhan_3007 I think the Phabtom 5 is now dead (not enough desire for it and too risky for DJI since they are having financial problems). MAVIC 3 is a sure bet is it has been lagging behind the EVO II. Everything is held back due to chip shortages which also affect price (everything will be more expensive).
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 DJI is having financial problems? Didn't knew about that... I think because it is chinese company and the whole country of china is financially suffering because of the pandemic... Which chip? Can you please tell me what does that mean? And how is there shortage of chips? I hope the Phantom 5 comes in the future though!
I was enthused about this product until I looked it up on Amazon. The review average is only three stars, with many people complaining of issues. Admittedly, one takes customer reviews with a grain of salt with a complex product because many people have trouble with technology. Buying something on the expectation that bugs will be worked out is dubious advice. What would you chose between this and a DJI Magic Air 2, which is now about $800 in fly more?
SO GREAT TO SEE COMPETITION FOR DJI!! IT'S ABOUT TIME!! What about things that DJI purposely takes out of their software for no reason that they proclaim is professional which really isn't like waypoints that drive me crazy that they take out of the mavic Air 2 that is in every other drone that's half the price..
Really good overall package, thanks again for the detailed and honest review. But, besides minor issues (tilting horizont, maybe still some jello), Hubsan really does have to work on their zoom functionality. Also when it comes to inspections (of power lines, solar plants, constructions, wild life and so on), the zoomed image should be filmed/stored as a photo in the internal memory and not just showed in the live stream. And the large 48 MP image sensor does have enough pixel count to allow to do so, also without an extra optical "zoom lens", just as the Nokia 808 did almost 10 years ago.
I'm glad Drone Manufacturers are pushing the envelope and showing what can be done and hope this will force DJI to release products with more features at a lower price point. If I didn't have the Mini 2 and Air 2 I would probably consider this one but since those 2 drones can get what I need done then this one would just be redundant. I also prefer to pay more for a more finished product even though I'm hardly ever an early adopter and probably spend way too much time comparing products before pulling the trigger on one. I will wait until the kinks are worked out on this one but might end up purchasing it when that's done.
If it were not for the Zino Mini Pro, DJI was only going to add tracking to the mini 3. Now they have to add obstacle avoidance, longer flight time & optical flow led.
@@gregb49 I can always give it to my son if I like it better or sell the one I like least. You'd probably think I don't need more than one pinball machine and yet I have quite a few of those just how it goes when you like to collect things I guess?
Really good review indeed. What about the "Zino Mini Pro Thermal", is it still coming? And the sensor size of the ZMP is a big advantage, also with daylight ;)
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 a thermal sensor does add some serious weight, I guess - I hope, Hubsan will maintain the great 1/1,3" 48 MP (visual) sensor, though. Better leave the obstacle avoidance away and maybe reduce the flight time a little bit - und we might get a really unique drone for "Pros" in just under 250g, basically just what I wished the Parrot Anafi USA was (which is a great drone, but waaaayy to expensive for most people). But Hubsan really does have to work on their zoom functionality.
I was really surprised by the amount of actual good quality/s and attributes this Hubsan Zino mini pro has going for it. After my painful experience and loss with the full size Zino pro plus, it's going to have to be a hell of a good one, to have a chance of pulling me away from my new girlfriend Fimi, she's very jealous and spiteful, don't tell her I was looking at another drone please ftloG.
Thanks for your honest review and thanks for not being a fan of any brand. It is seen that there is more than one good option in the market of drones below 250g. Congratulations to the consumers, sorry to the fanatics.
I'm already interested in the first 3 minutes of the video.... Thanks captain you always bring nice content and now I see you review good products. Keep it up.
Hight bitrate does not do much on near still video as you saturate the math involved before that, it's is on moving video it matters as you don't have to compress/compromise vector data as much.
I'm sorry to tell you that what the mini 2 has are two vents that imitate obstacle detection cameras. Hope you don't hate DJI too much for misleading you with the design, many drone companies do the same. Of course at another price level.
Excellent review. I wonder if some drone manufacturers could squeeze in a copper vapor chamber like exists on some cell phones to help with cooling? (Not so much cooling as diverting heat to areas where it doesn't hurt performance) This feature exists in some cheaper gaming phones which use newer unproven chips.
DJI air 2s or Skydio 2 PS. DJI Air 2s if you want to do more than just TRACKING. Skydio 2 if you want only tracking and most importantly the best in TRACKING.
Wow that has a lot of stuff for a mini but they should have put a micro sd instead of internal since micro sd chips, even good ones, are cheap and if corruption happens you just use a different one. Obstacle avoidance would have been handy on my mini 2 this weekend filming this ruclips.net/video/gGd94sGoUyY/видео.html in a tight space but the DJI Fly app seems really refined and not sure I'd want to wait 6 months (or maybe never ) for app updates.
The DJI Mini 2 is the drone that's the closest to perfection. The only things they could improve on are obstacle avoidance, improvements on the software updates that tend to create a worse problem than the original bug, and improvements to the camera such as optical zoom and the addition of an aperture.
Now you know why I've always wanted lights on the bottom. That's what turned me on to the Bugz4, two landing lights. Night flight is awesome, and flying down the road at night where there's no streetlights is Close encounter of the third kind material... This looks like my ultimate drone...
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I'll take reliability and a better camera over obstacle avoidance. Hubsan is known for failed products and I've tested all of them so I can say that. You are a paid spokesman for Hubsan so you have to spread false hope for their products instead of giving honest feedback... shame on you!

Very good review. Wish I had seen it sooner. I would suggest that somewhere in reviews a word about repair/replacement parts be added. I’ve only found one company that says anything about repairs. Accidents do happen and when drones get more capable so does repair.
Nice video. I'll never trust Hubsan again after owning the Hubsan X4 H501S. Tons of issues like loss of signal and control, toilet bowling, shakiness in flight, etc. Plenty of RUclips videos on this, and how finding the perfect firmware combo was more difficult than the DaVinci code. Seems like heat is one Achilles heel to this one. Not sure how that is fixable via firmware. I'm excited to see what Autel brings to the table with their Nano drones. They have a, much better track record than Hubsan.

Also the obstacle avoidance is impossible to set up without a pc which I don't have which they could have said. Then I got a DJI mini 2 as a replacement. Sure it doesn't have all the features but at least it works and works well!
Good review. The auto white balance is really bad and the jello and no sd card are a game breaker. But it's great that DJI has decent competition.
You are a hoot to watch. Thanks for all you do. Love to watch you!!
Thanks for watching!
Top notch review, thank you!
Much appreciated!
You are the best reviewer. Thanks for candid honesty.
One of the best reviews I've seen. Great job and I love the details. I have a Mini 2, but I want this drone now. Thanks again for such an in-depth review!
Glad it was helpful!
I bought the hubsan zino mini pro and I love it! For me it controls perfectly for my liking! HOWEVER, the charger I don’t care much for the batteries sit too loosely on it and that is the only flaw for me so far others very happy. Thanks captain drone for best of the best reviews!
How has it help up

Your reviews rock. I’m been waiting on this review
Thank you!
Hey you are one of the few who got the point of the vid! Thanks for watching & commenting.
The flash storage is the way of the future for many little size drones so you'll see it more and more.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 saves misplaced memory cards 👍
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 well, personally I'd really prefer replaceable microSD cards, but internal storage only is "OK" for me.

The best review you can see. Awesome video Capitán Drone, always the best drone reviewer
Thank you so much 👍
For a drone with weight less than 250g, massive internal memory storage (64-128 GB) and comes with the avoidance sensors is considerably great.
Sorry if i can ask, which drone is better at the same cost ?
Zino sound very good if their software update or app would be support for years and years go for zino
I choose mini 2 It's all i need pretry relieable also I could find more part when I need to fix them
I heard many are shipped with GPS and gimbal problems, that Hubsan wants you to repair yourself.
I believe Hubsan includes a screwdriver in the box so what's your point?
@@ralphbiatto2119 my point is, you shouldn't have to repair an item that arrived defective, by youself!
the two different video files that is save is for, the large resolution is your original file.
Me encanta este drone, es el mejor por debajo de 250 gr también me encanta que los comentarios en RUclips se pueden traducir nuevamente :)
You're right, that way I could easily read yours :)
Amazing mini drone from Hubsan !
Thank you so much for such a detailed and purely transparent reviews !
Glad you liked it!
Obstacle avoidance with mega memory that DJI mini should have had by now. It’s about time! Great first step to get DJI in line.
You are correct. Why the heck does DJI not have such features in their three models of under 250 gram drones?
@Lon Denard what did hubsan ever do to you to make you radiates this much hate it's almost shinning
@Lon Denard so a random comment is harassing? Ok a joke
Yes, I do have plans for it in the future.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 looking forward to that 👍
19:34 haha, you predicted the future basically. We now have the DJI Mini 3 Pro which has everything you stated! Great video!
Thanks! The more competition DJI has, the better product they produce.
Are you up to that triple test?
at that price point, I would get the DJI with flymore. However, maybe this will spur DJI to update the Mini with an upgrade rather than a downgrade.
Yes, I believe it will cause DJI to rethink their MINI 3 and add more features, but boy is the MINI 3 ever going to be expensive ($800 and up).
Love it. Not bad for all the competition thats going on right now between these drone companies.
Great job @CaptainDrone. You're the best in the business.
starlinater10. Correct. Without competition, we'll end up having to wait years for companies like DJI and Autel to deliver new technology at an affordable price.
Fun fact: the zino mini pro looks nothing like the original zino or the zino 2. It's a completely different looking drone
I was hoping this would be the ideal beginner drone for me, but the zoomless images are a put off Dji mini looks like a better option.
I’d rather side sensors than the back if I’m being honest
Yet another excellent and thorough review! Thank you !!
Glad you liked it!
Considering to buy this
My Mavic pro is over 4 yrs now and it still blows my mind its like military grade. The range is more then i can use even using it for sassy hunting
But always worried about loss now im its no worry id buy this to replace it So incredible the range we get !
Thats what 4k is all about post edit
You can do it all so its not a flaw.
Can you save the waypoint and know the Gps location?? Thats what i would like ro have If i fly over a target i want to be able to walk to it. Mavic wont.
What about head set ?
America you supposed to be line of sight Just hit RTH if ranger pulls up and keep talking until you hear it 🥳
Mine landed while talking made it look like it was right there. Joking for newbies. Dont do that.
This drone is quite impressive, looks like an upgrade to the mini 2 but also a downgrade. the features in this are great but the general quality that Dji offers is on another level. A good middle ground between these could be an autel mini drone.
You just repeated what his opinion was.
I agree with you guys well put.
When I first joined your channel I was a newbie too drones. Still no where near your skill level, but starting to consider fpv flight. I’ve had two DJI camera drones now. Maybe time too dip my toes, I’ve been watching many of your reviews on fpv. Thanks for all your terrific reviews.
The FPV hobby is certainly exploding so jump in
Zino mini pro is literally the most advanced drone under 250 g...
It is beautiful, superb and unique!
The most surprising thing is the low light positioning lights and its battery is 750 mah more than the battery of Mini 2...
Overall
Fimi mini has tracking features but a bit less range.
I also think that they will make a Mini 3 and Mavic 3 Pro, (i also hope for a Phantom 5 though...)
And they will also be much more advanced as they will be the latest models.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Costly ×1.28 in India Steve!
(I did a simple calculation)
If the Mini 3 gets released in the following year, it will probably cost 1000 US dollars and if I am right, than it will cost about 1280 US dollars here which is not at all a good thing!
What would you chose between this and a DJI Magic Air 2, which is now about $800 in fly more?
that's so true.... mini se reviews are all one star but no one understands how it's the king budget of budget dromes.
Get an autel nano + instead 😃
As a ZMP owner, I feel that you have a great drone with the Mini 2. Why buy another almost similar drone with just a few extra unnecessary features?
@@gregb49 I can always give it to my son if I like it better or sell the one I like least. You'd probably think I don't need more than one pinball machine and yet I have quite a few of those just how it goes when you like to collect things I guess?

Really good review indeed. What about the "Zino Mini Pro Thermal", is it still coming? And the sensor size of the ZMP is a big advantage, also with daylight ;)
The thermal edition has no set launch date. We may see it this year.
Wow great review sir watching here from 🇯🇵
Thank you Steve for this greatest and latest mini drone news! This kicks DJI's axx lol I just find my reason to have avoided Mini2.
Hight bitrate does not do much on near still video as you saturate the math involved before that,
it's is on moving video it matters as you don't have to compress/compromise vector data as much.
The Mini2 has front obstacle avoidance. It has a camera so you can see obstacles and avoid them.
Mini 3 gonna have it all...🥴... I love your Jeep .. Sir... 👍

Great review. Thank you. I’m looking for my first drone and I’m leaning to this one.
The DJI Mini 2 is the drone that's the closest to perfection. The only things they could improve on are obstacle avoidance, improvements on the software updates that tend to create a worse problem than the original bug, and improvements to the camera such as optical zoom and the addition of an aperture.
What about tracking?
LOL a comment like this is In EVERY COMPETING VIDEO

How is the obstacle avoidance (front and rear) and tracking on the Mini 2? :-)
Yup it's a good drone, but it can no longer be called the best.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I'll take reliability and a better camera over obstacle avoidance. Hubsan is known for failed products and I've tested all of them so I can say that. Very good review. Wish I had seen it sooner. I would suggest that somewhere in reviews a word about repair/replacement parts be added. I’ve only found one company that says anything about repairs. Accidents do happen and when drones get more capable so does repair.
Hubsan permits you to buy repairs insurance when you first activate it
Good review Steve.
DJI Mini 2 is better AND cheaper.
So the DJI Mini 2 has better obstacle avoidance and tracking?
Nice. It will compete even with Mini 3
