    The PDP-F was my first Walther . I don’t have the smallest of hands , but this thing felt great in hand , and not having to adjust or break my grip to drop the mag was the selling point on the F for me. I do agree the F (female) wasn’t the best choice as it almost turned me away lol 🫤. I love a g19 size (carried one for almost a decade) so this feels right at home but it isn’t shaped like 2X4 , so that’s a W ! This thing is SO underrated. Swapped the trigger for an overwatch , HATE the factory optic plate and the voucher deal .. so added a c&h precision plate, solid little blaster . Great review .

      Thank you so much. I agree with everything you said. I have found that I don't have to break my grip on any of the PDP's to drop the mag. But it's a slight stretch on all of them except the F series.
      Walther makes a solid pistol for sure. I greatly appreciate the support.

    And here I thought F stood for “fighting” because it!s such a badass gun! I love my PDP full size 5 inch pistol so much that I bought a second one! One for the irons and one for an optic. I put the Holosun SCS on mine because it sits on the PDP with no plate and sits low enough to co-witness with the stock sights and other non height sights. The one you have looks awesome too. Closed emitter! I just might have to add an F series to my line up! Love your PDP line up! Awesome!

    Just traded a Beretta M9 for a PDP-F, absolutely no issue if it's marketed towards females. Spent 30 minutes comparing the grip with the standard PDP and really preferred how tight I could grip the frame. It will make the recoil much easier to control.

    reason slide has to come back farther is because it has a 2 piece striker assembly. It also helps with slide manipulation ease. trigger then is also not the same as full size. IMO better trigger on the F. way less take up and no weird hump drag like the regular PDP on take up as it goes over safety plunger. does have a bit more pull weight but much shorter take up and no drag or grit or anything. Very crisp break. Got one for my wife but I love shooting it also even with large hands!

    • @Operatoroveralls
      @Operatoroveralls  6 месяцев назад

      I wasn't sure if the trigger felt better or not. My other 2 PDP's (not counting the pro) have been shot a lot more. So the triggers have somewhat worn in a little.

    • @chefmatt6299
      @chefmatt6299 2 месяца назад

      Question: You mentioned here about the feeling of the safety plunger on the regular pdp when pulling the trigger. Why doesn't the F series have the feeling of going over that hump, and does the difference create any concerns for the safety plunger not being as robust of a system as the regular version?

    • @leesamuelson
      @leesamuelson 2 месяца назад

      @@chefmatt6299 not sure but the take up is half of the regular model . The striker is a 2 piece design I guess and it also aids in ease of racking the slide. so maybe the way the assembly is designed you don't feel it. one thing though with the F series you can not just barely pull slide back to arm it. you have to pull it almost all the way back for it to be cocked.

    I’m Back!! Good shooting at distance - that’s a short barrel so well done! So I mounted mine with the Holosun SCS-PDP The direct mount optic - has the recoil bosses built right in like the Walther optic plates. Window is a bit on the small side, but the direct mount gets a co-witness with the stock height sights- which is nice😊. Only wish they offered the SCS with a 6 MOA dot. Much prefer a larger dot for defensive shooting. Guess I will try mounting this SCS to the Pro SD when I get it. May want a full size RMR optic on that since I dont plan on carrying it. Subbed up! I like my Glock 19, and really thought I was done buying guns....Then I held the PDP-F at a gun show, and I bought the 4" model. Shortly after that, they released the 3.5" model, and I wish I would have waited and bought it.
    The Glock 19 now sits in the hold-out spot at home and is relegated to only being brought out for the zombie apocalypse.
    Incidentally, since I bought this F model, I discovered the Ruger Security 380, and it has actually taken over as my primary EDC gun. (10 round mag in it, and the 15-round mag as the spare.) - It has a super easy slide operation and shoots really soft. I can get 6 hits in a 2" group in the same time it takes me to get 3 hits with the 9mm (Chalk that up to getting older, less hand strength, and shooting less overall)
    As for the folks that think the .380 is not enough.... When compared to a 9mm, you typically only give up about 1/8"- 3/16" of expansion (at most), and about 2"-3" of penetration.
    For me, - those trade-offs are worth it to be able to put twice the number of rounds on target with more accuracy and more speed. Plus, the lower penetration is actually a good thing in my opinion. I am down south, and we do not have "heavy-coat" weather, so getting through a winter parka is not an issue here, and the lower penetration may help reduce the bullet passing through the target and hitting an un-intended target behind them. (and if it does, perhaps it will have dumped enough energy already to not be as likely to be a fatal round).

      @@dtps_champion6016 yeah. I agree with you. Basically everything Ruger puts out is great. Low prices + lack of industry support, just freaks people out. Even though Ruger puts out so many awesome firearms. Ruger M77, 10/22, Mk series of pistols, Marlin lever guns.....etc.
      But their most popular non rimfire pistol, being the little LCP. And it's basically useless. I still think their pistols are great. It's just hard, to be competitive in every category. Especially when certain companies specialize in a single category. And can dump all of their funds into it.
      Walther, and Glock are two great examples.

      Another thought: The readydot technology could really be revolutionary but they might have made a bit of a mis-step by releasing it too soon.
