I just got a hori split pad pro about a month ago and I am in love with it! Feels so good in my hands.
Glad to hear this, I love these grips as well, so much better!
I found a Midnight Blue one in the clearance bin at walmart last year. For $20, they are awesome! I don't use them all the time, but I do use them playing handheld around the house. If I take it with me, I use the stock joycons since they fit in the case I can toss in my bag.
Do the Hori Split Pad Compact next ❤
Super ergonomic for hands my size Thanks for this super awesome review
Great Review! Thank you very Much 😎
Very nice review and great editing, keep up the good work 👍
Thank you so much! It means a lot
The price actually wasn't bad compared to the standard joycons! I love mine! Definitely worth the money!
True from an overall ergonomic perspective, but when you factor in that it doesn’t have rumble or an internal battery, I can’t see this being more than $25.
I got mine for about $7 😂😂😂 Forest Green ones
I got thease last year still work great and yesterday i got thr zelda totk dont got to worry about stick drift so far
I just buy one of this, feels great by now
I love my hori I had it now for a few years now
If you keep taking those things in and out of a switch you see those big square things 1:59 the squares back there where the railing is that will rub against the back of your switch every time you put it in and take it out and before you know it you will leave permanent scratch marks in the shape of a little square on the back top left and right corners of your switch.
Great insight, thank you so much for pointing that out. I wonder if there is something that can be done to mitigate the potential damage and/or if Nintendo is aware of this.
What a game changer! I recommend getting the attachment piece. Makes it a switch and pc controller. Perfect for fighting games on the switch as the D-pad is much better that on the pro controllers
Definitely appreciate the feedback, I’ve been wanting to check out the attachment set, but the cable was the only thing holding me back. Hoping there is a wireless version.
@@iReviewThis There is not. It's really weird that Hori doesn't wireless these.
The back buttons need to b standard on pads. They r great. Good thorough review
It's so good and the texture of the plastic is so comfy to hold for hours.
can i have it attached to it and still put it in the dock to charge or is it too tall? i have looked everywhere and none of them answered this question
6:29 - yes you can! Hope this helps!
@@iReviewThisoh damn. i didn‘t see that part mb. thanks for answering tho. i think imma buy one. looks good. maybe with a design on it
highly recommend them for fighting and hack and slash games.
I should’ve went with the fixture s2 ultra 😫😫😫 that to me looks the best for my blind self
How is this for small hands? I've read the Pro has better buttons than the Compact but I'm indecisive due to the reason mentioned.
I’d say the Pro should still be a comfortable gaming experience for smaller hands, but I do think the compacts buttons are very similar if you’re on the fence.
these are a good option for people with really big hands like myself
The only problem is when my hand gets sweaty this is better than the official controllers
good review bro but i feel the switch lite its more confortable like console hand 👍
I paid $49.99 for them at Walmart and reading that people bought them for less doesn’t really bother me because they’re awesome and it really enhances my overall experience! I highly recommend these to gamers that are looking for something different than the original controllers that OLED switch comes with.
What is the stand you had it on at the end? I kinda want one.
It’s just a cheap one I got from Amazon.
Does it come with the screen😭
Try the Nitro Deck next
I haven’t used my switch in hand held mode in a while because of all the stick drift. Don’t want to buy new joycons because they’re super expensive and I know the joysticks still suck
If you can do the repair or get someone to do it you can replace the sticks with hall effect sticks from guilli kit.
can you dock the nintendo with these grips on?
Yes, the design allows you to dock while attached 👍
I have and love but I wish they would rumble
I got a pair of them about 4 months ago and I was a little disappointed. I thought they would work off of the switch. I didn't read the box well. Other than that they're great
The make an attachment set which let's you play off the switch. It's like $30 more though.
@@yu-gi-nintendo2660 I know. I saw it the next day. Thanks for the lead though
Haven’t tried these. But I do have binbok and they’re great
Heard those bin boks have problems after a couple months, have you experienced that?
@@tracialx nope. I think some ppl just be dogging the stuff.
These aren’t really that comfortable after playing for only 20 30 minutes. You’re hands will still cramp up and hurt.
Unfortunately, that was my experience too. And I dislike the d-pad
Is it really not possible to change the button mapping ?!?!
I don’t believe you can change the button mapping on the face buttons, but you can assign buttons to the back programmable button on each controller.
Fit for nba2k23 or 24??
I think these will definitely enhance the experience of playing 2K vs the regular joycons.
Nice review. You should do the hori split pad compact. I’ve been using that a bit and I really like it.
Also worth adding - tomtoc makes a slim case specifically for these hori split pads and it’s a great case.
Thanks so much for your kind words and for your suggestion! I've actually reviewed the Hori Split Pad Compact and loved it. It should be the video right after this one.
Also, I really appreciate the tip about the tomtoc slim case - I'll definitely look into it.
Hope you enjoy the review!
@@iReviewThiscool. I’ll check it out. And yeah, they make some of the best cases. Even grabbed a controller case they make.
Does it have gyro?
no rumble, no gyro
I prefer the skull & co neo grip
NYXI all day
What gets me is the lack of battery, or even the ability to connect the two units
There is a new set that includes the attachment to make it as a stand alone controller
@@superbn0va too bad they didn't just make the adapter to sell as a stand alone!!
@@lookatthis8455 They did.
Yes just yes
Drift?
I have not experienced any so far
I've had mine for 3 years and it has yet to drift.
This came out so long ago, I think the nitro deck is way better , they start shipping this Monday 💁🏻♂️
Nope, this looks more comfortable, have you seen how low the right analog stick for the nitro deck sits?? So uncomftorable to be playing fps games or Zelda..
I own one and its honestly so uncomfortable to use. Maybe actually try the product before giving an opinion on it?
@@zrzmtz93 already did which is why I’m giving my opinion
Absolutely not. They were the best when they were the only option. Then offbrand wireless ones were released. And then Hori's wired pair became pointless.
It hurt my right hand after 20 mins of Fortnite. Looking for a better option. Because this one wasn't it
I was planning to buy this. But instead I decided to buy the skull and co neo grip. The trigger grips is so comfortable to hold the switch.
May I ask if its good for Fortnite? Does it have deadzones?
I like it for fortnite. Don't know what deadzones are. Takes a bit to get used to. Nothing a few changes yo the controller settings can't fix. I ended up keeping it
I found the problem. You were playing Fortnite. That would hurt me too
Maybe try going to the gym
