I’m 90% sure the reason licensed JoyCon alternatives are all “featureless” (no rumble, no wireless etc) is solely because of Nintendo. It’s clear they can actually make more feature packed joy con alternatives like the BinBok or the Nyxis, but those will never get licensed, and the licensed ones will never get those features. Simply because Nintendo would never want to sell something that, would be a clearly better alternative than the joycons, that we all know are packed with problems.
For that reason, I don’t really think it’s fair “calling Hori out” for missing those features. Since they are working with Nintendo, and Nintendo would never allow it.
I'd easily trade amiibo, rumble and gyroscope for better ergonomics, more accurate thumbsticks and two extra buttons on the rear. Thats what this is for and it does it successfully. A smaller version of the Split Pad Pro. The joycons buttons are for kid and my hands get fatigued quickly.
Naaaahhh it’s definitely one of the best joycon attachments out there. To each their own but it’s a great buy for its intended purpose. (To be fair; it’s more worth it if you can find it at a discount, Walmart often runs them)
Nintendo need to either come out with a new switch with more power and a pro like Joycon or just redesign the joycons themselves or even license the technology in the joycon to a third party company cuz as it stands joycons are the most uncomfortable control there is but they just have the best functionality out of and third party Nintendo accessory available
The sticks on these share the trait of many cheap third party controllers: they like to gravitate towards the four points of the cross axis. Not usually a problem but you will notice it on top down shooters. Feels like a deadzone you have to overcome to get past those four points. You can see it in stick calibration mode when you rotate the stick.
