Fresh out of USMC I ended up hanging with a group who had all recently spent time on the "peanut farm" in Pendleton IN. The one who managed to do his time without being punked was a little Hispanic who, upon arrival, stole and sharpened a spoon; then minded his own business.

Heard that a lot when I was in the county jail. Funny story. I actually found your channel back in February when I was in a lot of trouble with the law. Had just gotten out of a week long stint in the county jail. Your videos put a lot of stuff into perspective for me, and I've been living crime free ever since.
it's was great bipartisan effort but of course leaves a lot to be done. mandatory sentences, unnecessarily long sentences, and front-end initiatives to stop people form being arrested in the first place are all missing
What I love in people who got through prison is respect. They (some not, but depends on a person) know how to treat people like people. Free men who never committed a law crime and proud of it can commit the biggest crime in the world - an arrogant contempt and disrespect to others. And that happened a lot in my life
It's strange to me that acid is popular in prison. I guess I can see both sides and that a psychedelic could help to provide a mental escape beyond the walls. At the same time, being in a loud, potentially violent place doesn't seem like a comfortable place to take a psychedelic. I can imagine it's very easy in that environment to have a bad trip!
@@skovesk8s I just can't imagine it being a good experience. I've seen people have bad trips in nature, I feel like tripping in prison would be horrible.
You’d probably set it up so that you’d do it at a good time. It’s not 24/7 violence and insanity, but yeah if some shit popped off that would absolutely suck.
@@Blunt_Man I haven’t done much time but for some reason there’s also a lot of fun and laughter. If you were with good friends I could see it being a blast.

Give it time, it will come. And when it does I’ll be cheffing that shit right up. It’s been a minute since I’ve had prison food. I have a feeling this is going to be top shelf shit. I’m willing to bet Larry has perfected the art of prison pasta and it wasn’t over night.
I like how when Larry was talking about “beef in prison”. An ad about beef started playing.
P
Larry I just discovered you and your channel recently and have been watching a lot of your videos. Thanks for all the stories and interesting info. Congratulations to you on turning your life around post prison. You deserve the respect brother. Keep up the great work.
We called regular needles rigs in the outside world too. Back when I was an addict I heard "You got a rig?" all the time.
Drug addicts are a large portion. Of prisoners so most r doing white or black or both
@@NR-gp2il Yeah, that's for sure. Some people even end up drug addicts after going to prison just cause there's not much else to do in there. Most of the former convicts I know got in trouble for something other than drugs, but still enjoyed doing them too in and out of prison, like I've known a lot of thief/burglar tweakers and junkies, and one of my old friends was a junkie who was in there for attempted murder, that was really weird news to hear lmao. It's a vicious cycle though.
We called acid “sid” when I was in high school. 🤣 Also, in the jail I was in, Orange jumpsuits were for the accused felons. A bunch of them going somewhere was called “the pumpkin patch”. (Women’s side of a county jail in FL. They knew I was a bad check charge the second I walked in. “You don’t look like you’ve never done nuthing wrong.” was what my cellie said.
@Yuck Foutube bad check is easy to prove. Proving fraud requires intent as opposed to stupidity. I was stupid. Thank god for electronic payments these days. No checks needed.
I'd love to hear some acid prison stories
my best was floating in my cell. but those days are over. i seen enough bad trips too
Kenny Wilson XD
Tell a bad trip story larry
Larry Lawton want to hear em
Acid in prison sounds like a lot of bad trips.
I have a question: what's the most famous criminal that you've been around and did the guards treat him differently?
I always love watching your videos! You have a gift for storytelling.
thanks - Im happy you enjoy my stories. plently more to come
Christian M XD
Hey larry. Love the vids, keep it up
very much appreciated - we aim to please
Life has been busy but I came back to this channel and so happy for you it’s almost to a million! You have so much to teach and I’m so glad you can reach so many people ❤️
You are so gorgeous.
this'll be really helpful for me and everyone else watching these videos that've never broken the law and probably never will
Larry looking like Prison Mike with that bandana.
Glad to see he survived the Dementors.
😭😭😭😭
I never got caught neither
That bandana suits you
thanks - prison wear. I only wear it now if I forget my hat and its hot
@@LarryLawtonJewelThief so if u where one like that is it bad? I where one like that but usually tighter when I'm mowing or out side with no hat
Am I the only one that read it at "That banana suits you"
He would look good in an Ivy cap.
Bloods are red, crips are blue, Lawton's crew wears black so should you
Stumbled on to Larry and now I can't stop watching. Truly interesting stuff.
Too Right, never, ever, just walk in someone else's house.
Liking the fancy thumbnails
that's darien's magic!
Like alot of people I lost my grandad a while back, and he told me stories from his life all the time (as they all do) and didnt realise how much id miss it until he was gone. Get the same feeling listening to your stories man. You've had such an interesting life and amazing stories❤
Larry you should start a GTA 5 crew on Rockstar games social club. Legend
people still doing that?
@@Corkoth55 Yes. Its good for putting the emblems on your cars and all. Be good to have a crew that Larry Lawton owns that all the fans can join, you know yourself
@King Said Who looks like a nerd?
@King Said Wait, are you calling Larry Lawton a nerd?
@Luke Perry How does he look like someone who's had straight A's in school? A.k.a Nerd
Acid in prison: the yard is so beautiful!! I love the geometric patterns the bars make. Wow that is a bright jumpsuit. The guards sure are negative man
florida prison also says "one time" when officer enters the dorm.
Awesome video Larry! Very informative and entertaining!
glad you enjoyed it - just in case
Nate Campbell XD
I have a question about the tattoos, when you get a new tattoo and the guards notice it what do they do? Like do they ask where you get it or do they just not give a rats ass?
boomerplays 9112 XD
This is a good question hipe he answers it
Yeah they don't give af lol
They dont care if they see its new. Punishment for getting caught in the act or if they find the contraband used to make tats
They dont give AF. Unless they see it happening (which if u get caught tatooing you slippin, ur ppl shud b lookin out and whoopin for the po).
Hell I got one in jail and was comin out the shower guy saw fresh red one on my neck and was just like 'make sure that doesn't get infected, Woodland!'
hey Larry I have a question what made you want to make this channel and also another question what was it like when people used the wrong slang did you ever see people being beat up/bullied?
mostly we laughed at them first and then if we liked them we'd correct them. I made the channel to reach more people with my message. I've been doing it with my Reality Check Program for ten years and this let me reach more people
Biggus Chungus XD
Money
@@LarryLawtonJewelThief wow thanks for responding I didn't actually expect a response but I was rather surprised with the fact that people were never beat up or attacked by some nutjob for saying the wrong words.
Hey Larry. Served 46 months. Been out since 2014. Your story’s bring back memoriesz. First timer. Got a 12 state. Brought a smile to my face today thank you. Much Respect Brother
Just binge watched a hole heap of your narations of your book ..what great memory you have dude ..respect for trying to fight the system by discouraging the youngsters from heading into the private prison industry
Lots of love from cork Ireland 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Hi Larry. Prison nurse here. Love watching your videos. Very informative. It's a weird job being a nurse in a prison. I try to do no harm but take no shit.
Now i finally know what diesel therapy is
I always wondered if they actually do some sick physical harm thing with diesel.
And also how paperwork and in what prison someone is can get lost and ppl disappear.
Never put them together.
So insane.
In the courthouse we'd call Life
"a sentence with no numbers."
Letters..
I always get so immersed in these videos. You have on-camera charisma, and excellent flair for story-telling / explaining.
Had you not been a great jewel-thief, you would have have been great teacher 😊
I love how you turned a new leaf and using it to help others! Love your channel Larry, Thank care my friend!
The way I learned it was,
A shiv is an improvised weapon made from whatever you can scavenge, while a shank is any object that can be used to stab someone, for example, a pencil or a piece of glass. So all shivs are shanks but not all shanks are shivs.
We would actually sell sga dollars for real money sometimes again job corps is not prison I want people to understand that it's not nearly as had but there are simularies
Man you’re a trip Larry! You remind me of my dad, he’s done about 23/42 years of his life in prison
You remind me of you
Larry, my friend who went to prison, who had never been... he needed this. He knew he was NOT A TOUGH GUY. We all bought him books. He could write us letters using an old typewriter, no access to internet. He was popular (well not hurt too badly) as he could touch type and do letters for others. (many people sadly had learning disabilities).
Hey Larry I found you on RUclips yesterday, I have never been in prison let a lone jail but hearing the stories you tell are straight up awesome, You honestly seem m like a cool dude I would hang out with .
Deep down, do you miss your ‘old life’ if you want to call it that
i miss the excitement but would not go back to it. wasn't worth it
Chad Kensington XD
@@LarryLawtonJewelThief That almost sounds like drugs, in short term can be alot of fun. The aftermath that comes with it, or long term abuse. is the exact opposite.
@@LarryLawtonJewelThief So does that mean if VR advances enough that you could do it again virtually you would?
I have an uncle who spent 12 years in a federal penitentiary for attempted murder. He contracted hepatitis from getting prison tattoos. Fortunately, he made a full recovery. He's a really good guy. The type to give you the shirt off his back to help you if you're friends, or cut the shirt off your back if you're not lol. I love'm to death. You definitely shouldn't judge someone based on their looks, or their past. We all make mistakes, and we all have the capacity to learn and grow from those mistakes.
Hell yeah. Same. Had a few family members and friends that went away for a while. My Grandpa used to say to me "Never judge somebody for falling down. The real truth of their character is in how they get back up." That always stuck with me.
“Bird on a wire” - somebody’s listening in that you don’t want to hear your conversation.
Just found your channel yesterday, been loving the videos! Thank you for sharing these stories to help educate us with the truth about prison
Thanks for the information Larry. Keep informing us and spreading the word on prison reform.
Sounds like a scary life, I thank God for mine
Wow this sounds exactly like the things that happen at school.
Great video larry
(Obviously slightly exaggerating 😂😂)
Kingz XD
I’m here as always, sending love. Have you considered doing a video, driving your RV to some of the prisons you’ve been in and talking about the experiences?
good idea ben - we'll add it to the list but honestly I hate to get too close :-)
Larry Lawton face your fears if you think the result will be worth it
"Yeah man, there ain't no fair fights in prison. Whatya goona do?" ~ Larry Lawton #Priceless
The Police (the band) did a song called Man In A Suitcase... watching this video has forever changed the way I listen to that song for eternity 😆
Was wondering if you had a video about "Helping Someone who Just Got Out, adjusting to Modern Life."
My aunt's been in for almost 8 years, and I'm scared she's gonna be overwhelmed with how different the world is from the technology to the politics.
Well either way, love all your vids and love the causes you push for!
Larry can you react to an episode of beyond scared straight i would love to hear your thoughts on the kids there
He has his own version of the program called the Reality Check Program.
Stupid
@@FIREB4II chill out why are you mad it’s just a question
To have beef with someone, we say that all the time in Germany. Lil kids say it, it’s a very common anglicism.
Its definitely not just prison slang or street slang here anymore pretty much everyone knows it.

Hey Larry, I really enjoy watching your videos as they are very informative, factual, and truthful. You bring us the unedited, honest, and down to earth realities of prison life. Larry, It's great to have them at our availability to view as I have already learned many things. Please keep your videos coming. Larry, the people of this country need to know what is really happening inside our prisons as it will eventually affect them. Take care bro and thank you very much for all your hard work. Jimmy.
Larry seems like a real one. Love the content and his story telling is on point. The best prison channel on RUclips by far.
"11 straight years" huh? So no shower shenanigans.
things go on everywhere. most important thing in showers is to wear shower shoes
Heard that a lot when I was in the county jail. Funny story. I actually found your channel back in February when I was in a lot of trouble with the law. Had just gotten out of a week long stint in the county jail. Your videos put a lot of stuff into perspective for me, and I've been living crime free ever since.
Unpopular RUclips Channel XD
Ming Fan Zhang What’s so funny?
CAN SOMEONE MAKE A STORY OR FULL PAGE USING ALL THE WORDS HE HAD !!!
As if I ever needed another reason to stay out of prison. Larry tells me about every inmate using their "suitcase".
Hey Larry you talk a lot about prison reform and I had one question. Do you support President Trumps 1st step act and how would you add to it.
it's was great bipartisan effort but of course leaves a lot to be done. mandatory sentences, unnecessarily long sentences, and front-end initiatives to stop people form being arrested in the first place are all missing
Topkat XD
@@mingfanzhang4600 It was the most phenomenal question
@@topkat3764 Answer was lazy AF tho :(
@@mikecontra8844 I don't think he wants to give too much of his opinion. Which is fine. He answered everything I asked tho.
You're almost a a million man! I was here since 400k and loved every minute of it. Let's get that plaque!
True but I’m sure after so long there isn’t much to lose so it’s better than coke and heroin and it’s also way longer in terms of the high
If you were with good friends I could see it being a blast.
i swear i laughed so hard when this dude said "nah, its not monkey mouth, just a fuck outta here"
blows my mind that acid is a big prison drug. can’t imagine that being a good trip at all!!
Yeah a bad trip is hell! Can't get up because you feel like your heart will explode, can't even scream, terrifying
I wonder how much a book or sheet is in there, if that's a thing inside.
@@jackswan3420 ouch sounds like you had a very bad trip, what happened
I've done a fair amount of acid and spent a little bit of time in a max joint. I would never ever do acid in prison, I couldn't even imagine tripping while the deck goes up or during a riot.
At least it’s an escape
your impression of "pill call" & "chow time" are on point!
Respect is Mandatory, Thanks Larry.
