only a single point on your post i want to touch on. Can never know who can or can't make it inside until they are there. Even if a person thinks he can't make it himself - when put in the situation, people can do things you would never expect. A badass on the street can break and a quiet meek sort can cruise through no problems. Just never know.

The ONLY way I would ever go back to prison is if someone were to touch my little girl I'm a single widowed father almost lost my wife and my daughter at the same time my wife had preeclampsia I w oh ke uo and found her dead the day our daughter mericle baby came home from the nicu she was 3 months premature 2.7 pounds I've never left her side since birth other then when I hafta go to work obviously if someone were to touch her I would kill them with my bare hands and smile as the judge hands me my sentance

I like Badger. I grew up in a mixed neighborhood. Around south siders, black and white gangs. Never been racist. But when you hit the yard in the west coast you run with your own.
The prisons in California are some of the hardest for sure. I've been in a few and they dont compare to what I've seen and heard out there.

Same thing with gang bangers who been active for a long time or a person who grew up in a war zone ..same thing with guys who have been in prison for a long period of time..same thing with dude who make a career out of selling dope or hustling on the streets most of their lives. . their antennas are always up their always looking around its like we use to say back in the day u can feel it in the air if you're on point in the streets.. it's part awareness part paranoia part post-traumatic stress..the only difference between these guys and soldiers is that they stayed in a combat situation for yrs .. United States soldiers Don't spend yrs in combat and most don't comes from a combat or confrontational back ground ..most of the guys in are military have probably never had a violent confrontation their entire life until they get dropped in Iraq or Afghanistan that's why they come home and bug out becuse their not built for that shit but the reason these guys can keep their Kool and not buggout is because the ex con lived in a combat situation for yrs his senses are heightened naturally not from shock ..

Don't let anybody say you can't make it after prison, the only job you can get is McDonalds. I was first arrested at 9. Sent to a group home, then sent to a juvenile home at 11. Got out at 13. At 15 I was tried as an adult for arson and sentenced to 20 years. Got out when I was 21, violated parole and sent back at 22. Paroled again at 29. Stayed out ever since. While locked up I bought textbooks. If the university is using the 5th edition, you can get the 4th edition for $3. So I bought and read a lot of textbooks. I learned electronics, German, Mechanics, plastic thermoforming, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, all kinds of stuff. I studied hours every day, for years. When out I had no degree, I got a job doing building maintenance at the fairgrounds. In winter I was laid off, but my boss at the fairgrounds knew people at this factory, so I got a job as basically an industrial janitor in the Engineering Department of a big company. When I had nothing to do I would help the engineers and mechanics work on R & D projects. Eventually I was promoted to a mechanical technician working on the R & D projects full time. I flew all around the country to different factories to work on different projects. Now I am 44 and still out. I own a house now, paid it off, no mortgage. You just have to try hard, have a plan, adjust the plan as circumstances change, you get a reputation as a hard worker and good at what you do, people talk.
Badger it's several years later watching this again and there's words of wisdom that hold true yesterday , today , and can carry the gens thru.

I never look down to an inmate, anyone can end there. One time an inmate ask my best friend to please buy him cigarettes, it was in the court house, he said nope! The guy said to my friend, you will be with me here soon. Next week he went prison for an homicide. Bad karma.

A lot of my family have been to the pen. My grandad has been off and on for most his life. He doesn’t talk much, but he gets more comfortable when he’s around another jailbird, he opens up more with fellow ex cons. Probably why he loves his son in laws (outlaws) like they’re his sons. The man is 85 years old, man I’d love if he could be on with y’all if it was something he’d even be willing to. He’s got all kinds of stories, but I’ve heard a lot more from my dad about them than from my grandad himself. I once asked him back in the early 90s as a kid, how he survived being locked up so many times in different states. His reply was “I kept my mouth shut.”

Jay Dee I’m not aware of every prison gangs’ standards but I’m aware that the Norteños have a three strike policy regarding to domestic violence cases, the third time inmates will get those violent repercussions
For whites - nope. not a bit. maybe a pat on the back if it's a good story. See we know full well how women push and push and can deserve a backhand. They sometimes start the hitting but the guy will be the one arrested even if he only defends. Way to much BS with women for anyone to take any kind of action. For the chesters (chomo's) paper is always required - if you don't know for sure and don't have paper then don't even bring it up. If you do bring it up and the guys not - expect him to deal with you harshly.

I grew up in Ca and had multiple family members go to prison 2 of them for the long haul this was in the 70s through the 90s when I was a kid the would send me some of the coolest shit the made out of Marlboro cigaret packs and drawings I just had to keep some stamps rolling

Never had to go to the "big house" but I have had a couple stints in county jail, and that was enough to get me straight. I do enjoy listening to your all's stories and lessons.
