The R33 is my favorite and I'm happy to be an outlier if that's what it takes, whether it's a tune, a bone stock, or a 400R, I think the car is unique, beautiful in all its quirky 90's glory, and deserves more than it gets.
Very true ..it has the most " iconic " of all the silhouettes especially the rear lights ( fucked if I know what this idiot Craig is talking about saying there shit lol )
@@kevboard the R34 you can tell looks obviously newer but the design is at the same time very dated. It’s still a good looking car but it SCREAMS the year 2000 when you look at it. The R33 has more rounded edges and curves look more timeless.
The 33 is actually my favorite. I had the fortune of working at HKS USA in '98. The Japanese HKS Goods Master catalog I had at the time had a black R33 on the cover similar to the one you featured. It will always be the halo/hero car for me.
In short: R32 defined the platform and then R33 decided to focus on different appeals. R33 is a great car, but it is a very different experience as a car which makes it feel out of place in this series. R34 went back to what made people like R32 so much for.
The r34 is probably the one who felt less like a jdm on the road. The car is way more superficial than the previous r series. R33 is the one who made the best time on Nurburgring between the 3 (without the r35)
Absolutely love my R33 GTR V-spec. As a tall guy the r33 is just the most practical, in the r32 i hit the steering wheel with my knees and the r34 is not much bigger. In the 33 i can sit comfortably. Any of the rb skyline GTR's can be sorted out so that it drives wonderfully. Personally i love the R33 taillights, the "afterburner" look is just amazing at night! Honestly the extra price of the R34 GTR is just not worth it, its basically just for looks and a 6 speed gearbox anyway. The r33 is just as fun to drive, and can be made just as fast at 1/3~1-5th of the price.
Not really 1/3 the price anymore as the R33 has gained quite of bit of value in the last couple of years. More like 1/2 the price now between R33 GTR and R34 GTR for standard models and the gap will close in more once the R34 becomes legal in a couple of years. Same with the R32 GTR. It used to be around 1/2 the price of the R33, but once R33 became legal, the value of R32's shot up and now they are only slightly cheaper on average now. With that said, I probably will not trade my R33 GTR for an R34 GTR or an R32 GTR. Always liked the 33 the most, especially the tail lights and front end.
Hey dude how tall are you? If you don't mind me asking lol I'm 6"3 and looking at getting a skyline this year, didn't even consider my height being a thing.
The R33 in my opinion is the perfect balance between the 90s and the new millennium. It really just looks timeless. So I have no idea why so many people hate it. It’s definitely not ugly. 🤔
@@Kev27RSsame, my drean is a midnight purple r33 with nismo lmgt4 rims, r tune front bumper but stock lip, upgraded twin turbos with nismo intercooler, led headlights and taillights, tomei exhaust, 400r wing, and apexi exhaust valve
@@Lucianohlegomocs Nice! Me personally I wouldn’t put LED lights on it. I would rather keep it original - period correct. I would love to have a GT-R R33, either in Midnight Purple or White. I would even keep it 100% stock for a while, including the double 5 spoke wheels. Looks so nice! 🙂
Honestly, I don't understand why the R33 is so hated. I love driving my R33. Had an R34, and there really isn't that much of a difference between the 33 & 34.
It’s simple, a lot of the time it’s mostly because it’s not as pretty as the 32 or 34. Still under the hood not too much different but looks much different than the shape the 32 and 34 share. I personally am not a huge fan of the sleek smooth look that the 33 has and for that matter the zenki s14 kinda has a similar rounded style to it and for lack of a better word “plain” Yes I realize there are some cool trim pieces and shinny little bits here and there but I’m sure you know what I mean as far as it being somewhat plain in comparison. But still it’s a gtr. Car guys will appreciate a 33 regardless if it’s slightly different. Still would love one and I still think they look great but just not as much in my opinion.
@@nathanielhampton2559 Good points. It doesn't look as aggressive as the R34. It looks more "smooth" on the front, but still looks nice as a car overall.
The R33 has ALWAYS been my favorite. Since the early Gran Turismo days. I despise the hate they get. If I ever get the opportunity, I would definitely purchase one.
I may be a bit biased (owner of a 33), but I always preferred the R33 over the others, even since the late 90s/early 00's. I like the more rounded and understated looks. I greatly enjoy my '95 R33 GTR V-Spec. Such a fantastic car to drive and own. It gets lots of attention at Cars and Coffee meets, and has been a lot of fun to share with enthusiasts of all ages.
My buddy has an R33 GTR, he used to give me rides to our work. I honestly like it more given I'm 6ft 3 so it's roomier for me. My dad who is 6ft 7 can barely fit in the R33, an R34 he won't even bother.
The Aussie R32’s were the absolute best in the world. And Gibson Motorsport managed to sort things out that the factory couldn’t! And when Fred Gibson asked to bring his GTRs to Japan to race he was told “Hmmm not a good idea Gibson-son”. Because his GTRs had been “Australianised” and were absolutely bullet-proof. Jim Richards & Mark Skaife we’re told by Fred Gibson “Just drive the cars as hard as you can, if it breaks, we’ll fix it and make sure it doesn’t break again” And that’s how Godzilla was born. FYI Godzilla was the tag from an Aussie magazine as well. - Because it came from Japan, and Decimated Everything.
It’s my favourite skyline by far. My dad was the person who got me into cars from a very young age, and after he sold his Ford Sierra he got his own R33 GTS, not quite a GTR but still cemented it as my dream car since then
I remember 15 years ago you could pick up R33's for quite reasonable amounts of money, like 15-20k. TT Supras too. Most people settled for an R33 if they wanted a Skyline. 34's were still a relatively new car and cost twice as much back then. R32's were getting old and wasn't really getting restored or anything.
honestly i used to be a R34 fanboy when i was younger but later now that i'm older i have a new favorite GTR the R33 partially because of F&F Leon R33 and the car generally looking cool TL:DR i like it because of it's looks and because it's a breath of fresh air.
Never really knew that this was the sentiment, although, I don’t count myself as a hardcore enthusiast. The R33 has been my favorite iteration, especially as a consumer car, and has the best design and looks out of the whole bunch imho. The R32 is right up there though due of its Gr. A Touring racing heritage. Love those race cars!
I took a trip to Japan back in '99. Our daily driver was an R33 GTR. I had no idea what I was in at the time, but I knew it was awesome. I've always wanted one for myself ever since.
I couldn't afford to get an R34, and I was a big 34 fanboy. but I once just saw an cheap R33 posted on TCV japan, and I just immediately went for it. I don't think I regret my purchase at all. I've grown very attached to my R33, but I just wish I was a few years earlier when you could buy a 33GT-R for just like 10K. But I still love my R33( RB25DET) day in and out. I daily drive it and the only replacement I could wish for is an R33 GT-R.. Or a Toyota Mark II Tourer V xd. Though the GT-R for the styling, since it has the wider body compared to R33 GTS / GTS-T models.
Love my LP2 R33 from TopRank. Perfect blend of not too mechanical but not too technical like the R32 and R34 respectively. Gets tons of attention and it’s very heartwarming people are showing their appreciation for it
The R34s popularity was also driven by video games around the same time or even earlier like in the late 90s with Gran Turismo (commented before end of video lol) My first interaction was probably in that game with the R33 (Nismo Road Car ❤️) as well but the one I remember it the most from is Test Drive 5
Out of all the skylines the R32 is my favorite, some people forget that it too first debuted in the fast and the furious but most didn’t even know what it was as it didn’t have a prominent role like the R34 in 2 fast 2 furious
The R33 probably is the best overall to live with. Rear seat legroom is far superior to 32/34 under brakes from high speed the rear end of the 33 is far more settled I think this is down to the items located behind the rear seat front of trunk compartment. I also found that the programming of the front torque from the factory 4wd system is the best for deploying power than creating unwanted oversteer. However I have no experience with the 35 other than a few short drives.
For me personally, its the physical stats. I think R33 looks great. Beautiful car. But I dont like it for the same reasons I dont like R34, they're both bigger and heavier. And the argument that you can weight reduction the R33 and R34 is null because any weight reduction you can do to them can also be done to the R32 and the R32 will still out perform it. One of the bigger performance upgrades that matter is dropping weight. As you asked tho, if all stats were the same, just going off looks, I think I'd go R33. The R32 is beautiful but kinda understated. The R34 is gorgeous but stands out way too much. The R33 is the perfect blend between an exotic look but just under the radar enough that a quick glance might overlook it. But yeah, for me, its always been the weight issue. Weight matters in all aspects of performance. Acceleration, deceleration, braking, cornering, top speed, it's all affected by weight.
the r33 definitely outperforms the r32 in top speed. Top speed isn't defined by weight as it is aerodynamics, and the r33 is much more slippery compared to the r32, giving it a higher top speed. Also on the terms of weight, even though it's heavier than the 32 by about 200lbs, it's known to be a better handling car due to it's much improved weight distribution of 55/45 compared to the r32's distribution of 60/40, giving it the notorious "plough" into corners. Not to mention, it has a wider track and higher body rigidity, which the latter can affect performance more than weight savings, as a car that's flexing all the time can wear down tyres and impair handling of the vehicle. Better rigidity and weight distribution also helps with braking and acceleration under full throttle. There's many aspects and weight reduction, while important isn't everything to it.
You seem to have forgotten it held the lap record at Nuremberg till the 911 turbo? came along.. it was faster then the r34 there too.. as far as weight goes it yes is slightly heavier but it also has better suspension design and the fact that the fuel tank isn't hanging over past the rear wheels like a pendulum and is inside the wheel base makes it superior in looks and performance. They also have the nicest interior of the lot and by far the most leg room between the 3 of them. You can fit 6ft tall people all round and be comphy not like the others
Many people point out the size and weight as reasons for favoring the R32 over the R33 but the R33 was objectively faster (looking at Nurburgring times). Once you start modifying them that becomes less relevant but the reality is that it's just the looks.
wtf are you talking about? The R33 is vastly superior in the chassis design and the technology used. It is faster than a R32. wider track, better weight distribution and more rigid, not to mention improvements to the engine and better braking. There's so much that could be said on paper, but you need to actually drive these cars so you can see just how much more planted, stable and better handing a 33 gtr is over the 32. Overall weight is not everything.
really? what is it about the R33 that made it a better driving experience than the R35 not counting the manual transmission? I'm genuinely curious since I own an R33.
I think the R33 is the most clean design. I can see how people think it's more boring, especially compared to the R34. I'm just glad I happen to genuinely like the R33 more than the R33 because it is actually somewhat attainable as the R34 moves even more and more out of this realm price wise. Hope R33's stay like that while I save up to buy one. A dream garage would definitely have one of each though. Great vid with lots of info!
I've owned my R33 GTR for almost 7 years and when I bought it I wasn't thr biggest fan of the looks. It grew on me though. I'm moving to Arizona next month and I'm looking for Skyline owners to hang out with.
My first introduction to the r33 was the fast and the furious and my second being driver San Francisco where it was one of my favourite cars in the game. Shame it isn’t as popular as the 32 and the 34
I thought the rear steering on the r33 was a pretty good idea, it helped with making tighter corners to make up for thr added weight, I imagine it'd make turns and slaloms feel like butter
I was very surprised to see this video (probably because in my country we don't have Skylines), but the R33 has always been my favourite, especially the Nismo 400R (what a beast). Don't get me wrong, all of them look great, but somehow I think the lines for the R33 are more "natural". Anyway, thanks for another cool video! Cheers!
The Calsonic R34 was always my Favorite in Gran Turismo, but the R33 Ive just always loved. I love the headlights. They are "commercial car" like but still has some style to it. Not just a solid bank of lights but its broken up a bit. I thought it looked smaller for the same god power of the even more "Econo-Box" looking R32. Which always reminded me of an Accord of that time just with its headlights already fogged out... :/w And when I spotted the R33 in Fast n Furious, I knew even the day I saw that movie and the other cars in it, "That skyline could whoop all those other cars butts... I know this from Gran Turismo..." And for years I wondered why it was never the main car because it was the monster of them all. Then Mr Lieberman explained that in a video a while ago. The R34, even though the inner onboard system was designed by Polyphony, was to aggressive looking for me. Like it had something to prove. I love the R33 just because its style suits me more. Laid back and unassuming but still the same as the others.
*I just find the R34 too boxy.* *In theory, with its more aerodynamic shape and longer wheelbase the R33 should be able to reach higher speeds than the other two models.* *Plus, the R33 gave us such wonderful models such the 400R and GTR LM.*
@@Tojoblindeye *Here’s something to thing about: The female body.* *Women have more softer, rounded features while men have more agressive, angular features.* *What does this have to with cars? @@ReboyGTR who said that the r33 is ugly? Not me, I know a bunch of other folks did. I just said the r34 looks like it belongs before the 33, I mean in the lineup.
Back in 2011 a friend had a white R33 GTR, but he blew the engine due to an oil flow issue(?). Replaced the engine with an N1 or something and it was so fast.
I like the styling of the exterior of the R34 best personally. All personal preference though. I know of a few skylines here local, I don't know if I would want one personally due to the other options in the same price point.
Yeah totally interesting, the R33 is definitely up there in my favorites. I like the front and rear lights of them. The road car (courtesy of gran turismo) also was super cool. It easily surpassed the R32 IMO. But interesting subject none the less
@Lighthouse in the Storm one of my fav cars was the road car properly called the GT-R LM R33. It was a wide body version and IMO was one of the badass cars if the game and surely in real life.
The 33 has always been my favorite, an opinion that's never been shared by my friends or people who frequent the JDM shops that I used to hang out at. Like movies, looks are subjective and I'm perfectly fine being in the minority. Always have been when it comes to the car hobby.
R33 is my favorite R, I love it the most, in my opinion its just that the other GTRs are just overhyped, whilst the R33 is forgotten as it didnt do anything special, R32 got the godzilla name, was in Initial D with the R34, and R34 was in Fast And Furious. R33 doesnt have any such significant rememberable things, and was talked down on in Initial D
I've always preferred the R33 to the R32 and and I own a Scale model R34 however I don't like the newer GTR's they look too big and sound awful compared to that RB26 sound of the others
Hey Craig, just wanted to say thanks for sharing your first-hand knowledge with those of us that might never be able to afford or even sample the menu of these legendary machines. In our dwindling country where communism seems to be pushing it's ugly face in day by day, your insight and footage is a nice break from the reality we're all dealing with. Take care and keep the cool stuff comin'!
Been a fan of the R-33 since I first saw it in Gran Turismo Sport. Literally one of my goal collection of cars next to the LFA and what im saving up to hopefully stuff an SR20 on my 2010 Sentra (even though the MR20DE pleases my ears). The R-33 by far imo also has the best looks.
I can never decide which of these three I like best. I tend to like the looks of the R34 most of the time. I tend to like the R32 because it is the lightest, and looks like it was designed in the 80's. But having actually seen an R33 up close in real life, and taken some pictures of it. My love for it has reflashed. Truth be told though. I would not choose any of them for my personal hot rod. That choice is still a 94-95 TVR Griffith 500. I'd find one in Germany that is left hand drive.
Personally my guess is that when the R33 came out people just didn't bother buying it because they could've gotten a used R32 for probably less and the R32 could do everything the R33 could do. I love the R33 my buddy has one and when my car was in the shop. He and I carpooled and I found the R33 quite roomy leg wise because I'm over 6ft tall
They’re all beasts, the r32 introduced us to the insanity, the r33 continued the trend, plus it grew with the tuning scene and the r34 looks unreal with the advantage of a matured tuning market fully able to unlock its potential.
DR30S is what introduced us to the insanity. R31 with the RB30 gave us the ability to unlock the potential in the tuning market. Heck, VL with RB30DETT by OS Giken is about as insane as you can get.
R34 will forever be my favorite for reasons stated above BUT I love the R33. It looks so pedestrian and sleeper to me. Also it's the only one I could purchase more than once🤣
KPGC110 GT-R is my most favorite GT-R generation because it looks like a muscle car when it was lowered + fitting a Watanabe wheels (A/B,F8/F8F,or R Type 8 spoke wheels) or Rota RB 8 spoke wheels. The reason that The KPGC110 GT-R is my favorite is because of the game called “CSR Classics” and I love the looks of it. I also like the R33 & C10 because the looks of them and R33 stock wheels that are fit in every car, especially to the 240SX fastback/180SX.
R33 - I am a fan of the 240sx s14 Silvia, it does kinda have that look of it, and maybe that’s why people weren’t that impressed as the look was similar. R33 are good to me. It would be interesting to compare 240sx s14 Silvia vs skyline r33 to see how close or not so close they are to one another
R32 is king and the car that was truly ahead of it’s time. It’s also the only one that’s been reasonably priced for what you get since the hype started rising again. I’m not paying $150,000+ just so I can get the same performance as a 20 year Evo/STI.
R33 was produced during the time of Japanese financial crisis hitting the first bottom (1994) and kept downward spiraling into the Asian financial crisis (1997), it was a time of panic and uncertainty and luxuries were cut down from the family spending real quick. Which is easily the largest factor for it's poor sales comparing to R32 (born during the last hooray into the financial crash). Japanese people don't hate the R33, they just hate the mid-90s to early-2000 in general. The idea that there's something inherently wrong with R33 is perhaps the largest myth in the auto industry created by the lying Nissan executives, They were too scared to admit the market for GT-R has disappeared because the R&D sunk into it was comical, so they instead blame on the aesthetic or the performance to keep the R34 project going (and "conveniently" those problems were easily addressed with the R34, think about it carefully you see what's going here), but in reality, everyone knows what the real problem was, but admitting the problem means they are gonna loss their permanent executive positions DURING the crisis, that kind of behavior eventually bankrupted Nissan (1999), thus Renault take-over and killed the Skyline GT-R and fired a bunch of people with their French bloody hands. The only thing wrong with R33? the timing. That's really it. not much can be done to save a bad timing and R33 is the living proof to it.
It’s been my fave since I was a kid but now I’m worried that by making this video you’ve put peoples attention to the R33 and now I’ll DEFINITELY never own one 🤣 Great work tho! Love your vids!
Didn't realize people hated the R33 It's probably my favourite because of Gran turismo 1 That game was released before the R34 was made so it was the newest gtr at the time
I always loved the r32 gtr but after watching fast and furious I fell in love with the r33 and actually want one as my first skyline (cause I want a gts-t) but my favorite gtr of all time is the 71 skyline GT-R and the r31
If you look at the profiles of the three models you'll notice that the 32 and the 34 have an aggressive rake toward the front with shorter height noses (thinner from ground to hood) but the 33 has a laid back rake and it's much rounder than the other two. Plus what makes the overhangs in the front and rear look so excessive is that they're taller. Meaning, there is more vehicle between the ground and top of the hood. Which makes the car look oafish and chunky. It's like a featherweight boxer gained weight to fight middleweight and then lost weight again to fight lightweight. I love the 33. But, they just dont look as mean as the 32 or the 34.
I like the r32 because I didn’t care about skylines or anything JDM when I was younger. My dad always had classic cars when I was growing up, a 59 de Soto, 61 Chrysler 300, and my dads 67 gto to name the last 3 he had at one time. And at one of the shows I went to for the classics I saw a r32 with a single turbo conversion and I feel hard for it. I have pictures from 2013 that I took of it because it was that car that made me a true enthusiast. I didn’t like cars as much as I do now back then they were nice to look at but I didn’t really care about working on them, it was a chore to me. The man that I met with the r32 told me about the car and basically inspired me. It’s just sad I am 22 now and really want an r32 and I don’t have the money for it. I still have more years to buy one but I didn’t fall for a car for some silly reason as a movie or video game I met my hero in person and developed my love for it.
This is new to me, people calling them boats etc. But they have always held a special place in my heart since 97. More so than the 32 and 34's. I miss both of mine.
For me the R33 is love at first sight. And first time i saw it was Fast & Furious movie.Back then everyone talking about Supra, Charger, Eclipse, RX7 and even Jetta. But this mysterious yellow Nissan got under my skin. I think its all about how R33 looks, its calm and confident design - "hidden power" that's how i calling it.
Here in the UK, the R33 was the Skyline that was the most desired by chavs for some reason (If you don't know what a chav is, look it up). That always muddied the image of the R33 for me. Same with the Evo 4-6, 6th gen Celica and 1st gen Impreza WRX. They all used to get absolutely thrashed by chavs back in the day. A bit of tangent, but I was looking at old Sony Ericsson phones on Ebay the other day. They were popular with chavs and you can tell because 99% of them are in terrible condition. If it's been in the hands of a chav, it's been thrashed.
R33 GTR is a hell of a car. The looks can be improved with a proper body kit and it costs 3 times less then R34. I had a 96' R33 GTR V-Spec model back in 2011 & I loved it...
Alot of people here in Australia also didn't like the 33 GT-R because it looked so similar to the GTS-t's, the guards were slightly wider, but not impressively more like with the 32s and 34s. So there was alot of people rocking 33 GTS-t's with GT-R front bars like they were actual GT-Rs.
I did not care for jdm vehicles for a long time. Then i finally softened and noticed i was missing out on a very robust section of cars. I reevaluateed the skyline and realized i was a fan of the r33, especially after getting a ride in one years ago.
R33 is by far my favorite GT-R of all, the looks, the power, everything on It, even the special versions are sick, like the Nismo 400R (which somehow raced in *Pikes Peak),* the GT-R LM Road Edition, basically the most insane GT-R, and since it's not as loved as the other GT-Rs, it ends up being cheaper and more affordable and i see this as a win-to-win situation

Actually...As an R33 owner and JDM enthusiast its one of my all time favourite cars. So I'm super happy that I made the decision to buy one of these🥰
The R33 in my opinion is the perfect balance between the 90s and the new millennium. It really just looks timeless. So I have no idea why so many people hate it. It’s definitely not ugly. 🤔
I agree, it's not ugly.
I love the Skyline GT-R R33!

AWESOME!! I never liked the stubby boxy shape of the R34..
Some say, it's more balance than those two GTRs
I don't get it either...
I love the Skyline GT-R R33!
Looks so nice.

It’s simple, a lot of the time it’s mostly because it’s not as pretty as the 32 or 34. Still under the hood not too much different but looks much different than the shape the 32 and 34 share.
I personally am not a huge fan of the sleek smooth look that the 33 has and for that matter the zenki s14 kinda has a similar rounded style to it and for lack of a better word “plain”
Yes I realize there are some cool trim pieces and shinny little bits here and there but I’m sure you know what I mean as far as it being somewhat plain in comparison.
Jim Richards & Mark Skaife we’re told by Fred Gibson “Just drive the cars as hard as you can, if it breaks, we’ll fix it and make sure it doesn’t break again”
And that’s how Godzilla was born. FYI Godzilla was the tag from an Aussie magazine as well. - Because it came from Japan, and Decimated Everything.
It’s my favourite skyline by far. My dad was the person who got me into cars from a very young age, and after he sold his Ford Sierra he got his own R33 GTS, not quite a GTR but still cemented it as my dream car since then
Did he have a Sierra Cosworth?
I love the look of the R33. I would pick it over a 32, and way before a 34 any day.
YES
I love the Skyline GT-R R33!
Looks so nice.
Especially all stock with the original double-5-spoke wheels. 🤩
the R33 has always been my favorite, ever since I saw Leons yellow R33 in fast 1 the others haven't compared.
Mine as well!
Probably since Gran Turismo 1.
The R33 is the favorite skyline of everyone I know. Definitely the best looking and it has just as much tuning potential as the R34. So yeah.
R33 with R34 6-speed upgrade is perfect!
Yeah, I don't get the dislike either...
I love the Skyline GT-R R33!
Looks so nice.
Especially all stock with the original double-5-spoke wheels. 🤩
Just this year, my opinion of the R33 changed. Overall, it's probably my favorite. I like the more subdued look.
It’s the only skyline ever made that has a curvy body. It’s my fav aswell.
Gets tons of attention and it’s very heartwarming people are showing their appreciation for it
The R34s popularity was also driven by video games around the same time or even earlier like in the late 90s with Gran Turismo (commented before end of video lol)
My first interaction was probably in that game with the R33 (Nismo Road Car ❤️) as well but the one I remember it the most from is Test Drive 5
Out of all the skylines the R32 is my favorite, some people forget that it too first debuted in the fast and the furious but most didn’t even know what it was as it didn’t have a prominent role like the R34 in 2 fast 2 furious
It's a R33 in the fast and the furious.
I meant R33 is my favorite, typing on a phone and not looking at my post is my bad. I actually dislike the R32 the most out of all the others
It's the best looking skyline in my opinion.. especially the skyline r33 gtr lm.. This car look so badass man
I don't get it either.
I love the Skyline GT-R R33!
Looks so nice.
Especially all stock with the original double-5-spoke wheels. 🤩
R33 became my favorite GTR when I 1st saw the 400R in Gran Turismo.
R33 is my favorite, 400R is such a beautiful piece of art.
I legit LOVE the R33, thats definitely my dream car! I noticed it clearly wasn't as popular as the R32 and R34 a while back.
All valid points
The R33 is the best looking one
I've driven the R33 and R35 and the R33 will stay my favorite of them all.
really? what is it about the R33 that made it a better driving experience than the R35 not counting the manual transmission? I'm genuinely curious since I own an R33.
@@dennischen8887 It's not always about what's technically best on paper.
Id pick a r33. For some reason I loved the look of the front end when paired with aero parts and duct work. One day.
people just follow the hype. a r33 looks amazing when its modded straight 90's jdm 2000s vibe i get when i see them
Love it how people complain about the R33 being heavy, yet the R34 (especially non GT-R models) is actually the heavier of the two.
Especially if you look at the non-GTR models. The R33 GTS25t is reportedly about 1380kg, whereas the R34 25GT-t is about 1410kg.
Skip all the RWD 💩 regardless!
i love the curves of it. I may be bias. My first nonbeater car was a 98 200SX SER. ( lots of similar styling )
Yes, the curvy sexiness.
I love the Skyline GT-R R33!
Looks so nice.
Especially all stock with the original double-5-spoke wheels. 🤩
The R33 has always been my personal favorite
It’s my favorite and I kinda hope it stays being hated so I can get one for a reasonable price

The R-33 has always been my favorite and the 400R is the best GTR of all time.
Shame it isn’t as popular as the 32 and the 34
My love for the R34 is solely based on looks. That is all and I knew it a long time ago.
Good video sir.
And when I spotted the R33 in Fast n Furious, I knew even the day I saw that movie and the other cars in it, "That skyline could whoop all those other cars butts...
Honestly the R33 is my personal favorite Skyline GT-R and it is my dream car
I do love the R34, but having seen a Nismo 400 R R33, that really does look good.
to be honest az I grew up around dis era❤ dis kar is definitely underrated...I love❤ it.😎👍😉

*In theory, with its more aerodynamic shape and longer wheelbase the R33 should be able to reach higher speeds than the other two models.*

They also tried entering the R33 in the 24 hours of Le Mans but didn’t work out well since keeping it running was a fight in it of itself
Le Mans was definitely not fun for them
@@AnthroGearhead it still would’ve been dope if they could at least take home one trophy

The R33 is my dream car
I hope they keep hating on R33’s so the prices go down a bit and I can buy one.
I absolutely love the r33. The r32 is very visually unappealing to me.
The R33 is actually my favorite Skyline 💗
I've always preferred the R33 to the R32 and and I own a Scale model R34 however I don't like the newer GTR's they look too big and sound awful compared to that RB26 sound of the others
I love the R33. Ever since the original Gran Turismo. The yellow 400r was always my favorite in the game.
Actually, the r33 is my favorite of all gens. Especially the 400r GTR.
The R 33 is amazing......but I like GTRs in this order:
32
34
33
Kenmari
35
Hakosuka
30
31
There was no r30 or r31 gtr there was a r31 gtsr though
Personally my guess is that when the R33 came out people just didn't bother buying it because they could've gotten a used R32 for probably less and the R32 could do everything the R33 could do.
I love the R33 my buddy has one and when my car was in the shop. He and I carpooled and I found the R33 quite roomy leg wise because I'm over 6ft tall
it was awesome to hear you mention how the r33 gtr did a sub 8 minute lap of the nurburgring since it was the first sports coupe to ever do that
They’re all beasts, the r32 introduced us to the insanity, the r33 continued the trend, plus it grew with the tuning scene and the r34 looks unreal with the advantage of a matured tuning market fully able to unlock its potential.
Purchased my R33 GTR Vspec 3 years ago and haven't looked back..its my favorite design.
Its my favorite of all the gtr's I just love the curvy lines.
R33 - I am a fan of the 240sx s14 Silvia, it does kinda have that look of it, and maybe that’s why people weren’t that impressed as the look was similar. R33 are good to me. It would be interesting to compare 240sx s14 Silvia vs skyline r33 to see how close or not so close they are to one another
I bought my R33 because I love it.
R32 is king and the car that was truly ahead of it’s time. It’s also the only one that’s been reasonably priced for what you get since the hype started rising again.
I’m not paying $150,000+ just so I can get the same performance as a 20 year Evo/STI.
same here, I would rather build a G35 AWD coupe than pay a ton of money for a really old car..
The r33 was what made my discover skylines in the first place. From playing the original gran turismo.
It’s been my fave since I was a kid but now I’m worried that by making this video you’ve put peoples attention to the R33 and now I’ll DEFINITELY never own one 🤣
Great work tho! Love your vids!
Didn't realize people hated the R33
It's probably my favourite because of Gran turismo 1
That game was released before the R34 was made so it was the newest gtr at the time
Personally for me I get the R32 it looks nice. But I secretly love the R33.
They've always been the cheapest to buy, well about the same as price as an r32. Normally you pay a premium to get the newer model.
I love how you added a clip of the Gibson motorsport r32 GTR on Bathurst!!!!!👌🏼👌🏼
The r34 of Brian O'Conner is the Boss, Brian with his skyline r34 in 2 Fast, is the king :) !
I love the R33 if I'm not mistaken it was like 10 seconds faster around the nurburgring than the R32. I'm going to get a GTST
Do it, the rb25 is a riot
@@xXxUrbanNinjaxXx I think it's also a bargain because of some of the hate, it will be a cheaper entry
@@thatoneguy985 lately no, r32 is getting cheaper because r33 are really good for modding. The rb25 is insane. R32 gtst cost more to build

I love all the hate for the r33, it meant I was able to pick up mine for relatively cheap 3 years ago
the thing is I never hated the R33 since young I still loved that car
