In this video I will compare the Mealthy 2.0 Multipot to the Instant Pot. I go over in detail the accessories and the different functions, do a side by side cooking comparison, and tell you which one I prefer. I also compare the slow cooker functions and show you which one can actually be used to replace your slow cooker, and which one can't. Best line: “I like an appliance with a sense of humor.” Thanks for an informative, enjoyable product comparison that points out each device’s strengths and weaknesses.
Hahaha. I was reading the manual and it said things like cooking time for fresh eggs....cooking time for frozen eggs "Don't FREEZE your EGGS!!" lol
What a wonderful and helpful comparison between the 2 pressure cooker brands! I really appreciate your video, Lana, because I am in the market searching for a good electric pressure cooker. I have never bought one before, this will be the first time. And this information from you is absolutely so welcome. Thank you so much.❣️
Thank you so much talking about the slow cooker for food. I really only want to use the Mealthy we have for the slow cooker, and this makes me so happy!
Glad you mentioned the diffuser on the different models of Instapot. Good tip- thank you!
You are one incredible lady. What a great teach, complete and comprehensive. Outstanding job. TY
Awe you are so sweet and you made my day Nick. Thank you so much for your lovely words and I wish you the best. Stay safe and happy cooking!
Wow such a detailed explanation i was looking for. Thanks for the helpful video. Will buy Mealthy as it looks good in desgin.
Thank you for your kind words. I think you are really going to like the Mealthy 2.0. Even though I have 5 Instant Pots, whenever I am making a rice dish or a dish with a thick sauce, I use my Mealthy. Yesturday I made a BBQ Pulled Pork and I only had to use 1/2 cup water with 1/2 cup BBQ sauce and ketchup. Didn't get a burn notice at all.
I'd like to try Sous Vide, but that Mealthy looks pretty cool. Thanks for the detailed comparisons!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for another great video! I don't often use a slow cooker and will just keep using my Crock Pot on the rare times I need that function! I have yet to want to sous vide anything. Nothing against the process but it does take some time. While I'm never in a hurry when I cook, most of the time I don't want things to take hours, though at least food cooked that way would never burn! I also like the accessories that come with the Mealthy! I finally bought a steamer basket for my IP's for a couple of Brussel Sprout recipes I have yet to make! I have definitely maxed out my space for any other kitchen gadgets so unless I get rid of something I won't be adding to them! All my best to you and yours!!!
Awe thanks Gary! Yeah sous vide does take a few hours and if doing a huge roast it can take up to 36 hours! And with your work schedule I can't imagine that it's very easy to find that time. Glad you found a steamer basket that works for you. Stay safe my friend.
Thank you for being precise and to the point. You are very informative and easy to listen to. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you so much. That means a lot!
Science Ya'll! Your videos are great!
Awe thank you so much!
I had an instant pot about 5 yrs ago, used it daily. We moved, it made more sense to sell it and buy new one. I have been disappointed. All my fav recipes tend to burn on the bottom or over cook. So now I'm considering trying again with the Mealthy. I really appreciate your comparison video.
You are so welcome. I think when I was just starting out I probably would have chosen the Mealthy, too. But now that I am pretty comfortable with the Instant Pot, I usually use them regularly. But I find both brands pretty equal as far as how they cook so just go with the one that you think has the functions and accessories you use.
Nice review. Based on your review, I will be buying a Mealthy instead of a Instant Pot.
I think you will really love it!
Loved your review 👍🏼
Thanks so much!
@@LanaUnderPressure but just came to know that in india 2.0 is not available .
It's only 9 in 1
My Yeti bit the dust awhile ago and I was deciding whether or not to buy another instant pressure cooker. I will try out the Mealthy 2.0 and give it another go....
I think it's a great option.
Did Jeti works for you and how long?
I have one on it’s way this week.
Thank you for this video. Do you know if the instant pot inner steel pot and rubber gasket can be interchanged with the mealthy?
Thank you so much for watching. I averiado do know, because I do it all the time. You can definitely interchange both the line and the gasket ring between the 2.
Great comparison, but something tells me that since (as far as I can tell) the Instant Pot has no way to actually circulate the water it's probably about as good at sous vide as it is slow cooking. But then again, I though air fryers were a gimmick until I tried one, so I could be wrong.
That's what I thought too. But after doing more research, circulation is not what makes sous vide work. It's keeping the water at a steady temp. Sous vide sticks have to circulate or wise they won't heat the water in the container all the way through. That's how they work. However, an IP has heaters all around so it can keep the temperature constant through out without circulating. Hope this helps.
Can u use the IP receipes books with the mealthy?
Absolutely! Any recipe book for an electric pressure cooker or multicooker, will work.
I need to use the slow cooker for making liquid soap, but have never used the Mealthy Multipot. This may be a dumb question, but is it possible to slow cook without putting the lid on?
Hi. I love the idea of making soap. You can slow cook without the lid on for the Instant Pot and I believe the same with the Mealthy.
@@LanaUnderPressure Thank you for your answer. I ended up making the soap 2-3 days ago and had never used my housemate's Mealthy Multipot and was so nervous (with the potassium hydroxide and all) that I decided to keep with the more low-tech option of stovepot in a large stainless steel dutch oven. Thankfully, it all worked out -- even though I never turned the (electric) stove above "low" (which is the lowest setting on our stove). If you ever decide to try it yourself, I really liked the recipe I used that I got from the video called something like Dr. Bronner's copycat multipurpose liquid castille. It was nerve-wracking (to me), but worth it....~! :)
Never mind my idea about making the soap in the Mealthy slow cooker. I did it and it was a disaster with everything brimming over the top and even causing some of the "paint" on the Mealthy to come off! I think it WOULD (*possibly*) work on low on the Instant Pot which cooks at 25 degrees lower temperature than normal slow cookers, but no guarantees.
P.S. It was a disaster making the soap in the Mealthy, but it did not ruin my (castille liquid) soap. But it left its mark and I'm not going to experiment with that method again!
Glad to hear that the Mealthy 2.0 worked as a slow cooker. Mealthy 1.0 was as bad as your Instant Pot.
Hi. I never tried the Mealthy 1.0, but when they offered to send me one to test it out, the slow cooker function was the mode I was most excited to see how it worked because the Instant Pot is terrible at it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you pronounce Mealthy?
Mealthy is a combination of the words 'meal' and 'healthy' and is pronounced MEAL-thee.
jus' sayin' ;)
Thanks. I still think that's a terrible name. I prefer m-healthy, mealthy. Lol
Which country is mealthy manufactured?
I besiege it was purchased by a Canadian company but not sure where all the parts are manufactured. I don't work for Instant Pot so I'm not sure.
If I can't sous vide, then I want nothing to do with the Mealthy.
Haha I hear ya! I love the sous vide mode. But the solution is just get both! 😁😜
Meal-thy😉👍🏻
Haha, I soon found out you are correct it is Meal-thy. I have to say though, I hate that name, lol. But I love there product.
