Loved Luthen’s escape, from the friendly bumbling trader act to the ice cold demeanour as he casually tears apart a huge cruiser and a handful of fighters and nonchalantly jumps into hyperspace. Such a great character so far and brilliantly acted by Skarsgaard

Luther is an absolute unit, easily the best character in the show! His level of commitment to the cause and personal sacrifice is really illustrated in his constant and calculable level-headedness, focus, interchangeable demeanor, power with words, bad-assery, and almost cold-hearted, strategic play of fellow rebels in the name of the cause.

As someone who was never a huge Star Wars guy until the past few years the one movie I thought was the best was Rogue One and this show between the actors, videography, directing, story, and more it’s per perfection. This is my favorite Star Wars project they’ve ever done and should be up for awards. I hope they use this to continue going forward

A man of good taste! I feel exactly the same. Tony Gilroy is to thank for creating & directing Rogue One & Andor. I recommend watching his podcast with Marc Marron from about a month ago… he’s such a fascinating & talented writer with an incredible life story.
I really hope Disney gives Gilroy more projects within the Star Wars franchise because he’s made such a compelling story without flooding the screen time with Star Wars universe “celebrity” characters, Jedi, lightsaber battles, spacecraft battles, overdone nostalgia, etc…
..if he tastefully introduces some of these classic Star Wars tropes, as he did with Luthen’s escape in episode 11, they’ll be so much more impactful.

You missed the Canary Trap where Luthen tells the ISB mole that 50 men will die, while with Saw he says the 30 men will die (plus Kreegar). If there's a leak that mentions the number of men prior to the ambush, he'll know the source. Luthen, like his shop assistant, is always on point and always keeping an eye out for where he might be vulnerable.

I, myself, am expecting to see Bail Organa in the final episode, becoming Mon Mothma's financial benefactor and her Rebel Ally. That's my theory that I'm very much holding strongly to. One of the things that was confirmed in this episode, by Mon Mothma's conversation with Vel, is that the Rebellion that she's secretly funding and leading, with Luthen being the master worker for her, is only a few months old, beginning at the conclusion of "last year," in 6 BBY, as I pointed out in one of the early episodes, and all events of Andor are at the beginning of the year, 5 BBY, several months before any of the events of Star Wars Rebels. (The first 7 episodes of Star Wars Rebels begins after Ezra Bridger's 14th birthday, which is on Empire Day, the 21st day of the 3rd month.) This episode totally set up Organa's 14 year Rebellion, and Mothma's 4 month or so Rebellion, becoming allied together. The money from her account supports her Rebellion financially, but Organa is different in that he really was rendering humanitarian relief, as seen DURING Clone Wars, and until Leia is 15 years old on Star Wars Rebels, making his financial contributions to his Rebellion more untraceable than what Mothma is doing. And my prediction is that he will step in at the last moment and save her and ally himself with her Rebellion next week.
I'm expecting for there to be 2 major surprises, but I have no idea what one of them will be. It might be something crazy, like finding out Luthen is Palpatine's brother, or a former Sith; something big like this. Whatever it is, it will be major.

Mandolorian is fantastic. It has all the heart of the OT and in tone it feels so similar to them that I could almost believe it was made in the 80's by 80's George Lucas. Andor on the other hand treats the material with such brilliance, subtly, introspection, and maturity that it manages to elevate the entire franchise to a degree I didn't know I was missing until I saw it. I like what my wife said 2/3 of the way through the first episode, "This feels like 30% Star Wars and 70% that Blade Runner movie you love". I can't think of a higher compliment. So while I love Mando (and honestly move between liking and loving all the live action Star Wars besides Episode 9) Andor really takes it to the next level. Basically, OG Star Wars hits all the right buttons for the kid in me and Andor hits them all for the adult. I'm sorry to go on so long, but holy crap this show it so good.

there will be just one more season - after that, well, Andor has an inevitable appointment on scariff... but I hope that they will take risks with more mature SW shows like this one. Although it seems commercially Andor is a total flop, so probably not (although the fault is with Disney for diluting the brand with horrible sequels and mediocre series).

When the imperial ship went after Luthen it was a scene right out of the very first part of A New Hope. The guy on the bridge looked so much like the guy on the bridge from the old movie and then the other people were dressed just like the people from the first movie and so is the star cruiser, even though you say it was redone. I really felt like I was getting ready to go aboard the ship with Princess Leia and have those schematics and drawings uploaded to be put into the droid and be boarded by Darth Vader!!! It was a great feeling!!

I think Luthen might have been a jedi temple guard. We have seen a temple mask and they were supposed to give up their identity when they become a temple guard, so the empire really wouldn't know who he was/is. Possible we have seen his old lightersaber hilt right before talking with Saw. I think his monologue on him giving everything so someone else can bring the light, or however the monologue goes, is my reason for my theory.

  • @dskidmore

I actually think it would be really cool if Luthen is a former Jedi turned to the dark side as he tries to form the rebellion, kinda like Count Dooku and the Separatists. Unlike Anakin who does terrible things because he has turned to the dark side, Luthen turns because of the terrible things he's doing. Reinforcing what Andor says in Rogue One about everyone having done terrible things in the name of the rebellion.
For me it would give this quote a lot of meaning "What is my sacrifice? I'm condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them." He's talking about subterfuge, killing people, crime, etc but also fear, anger, hate etc. The tools of a Sith which are the complete opposite of his former training.
He talks about his sacrifice but I don't feel like we see it much other than leading a double life, until he decides to let the ISB trap work and let people die.
I know what is unique/refreshing about the show is that force users aren't present but I feel like the show is about learning to sacrifice/fight for what is good/right. We see Andor and Mon's journeys. If my idea for Luthen were true, we wouldn't get to see his journey but I feel like it would be impactful because we know a lot about Jedi and Sith.
There are a lot of holes in his story that would need to be filled for this to be true but I personally think it would awesome and support the themes of Andor.
Side note: I think if he were just a Jedi the blades on his ship wouldn't have been red. Jedi have pretty much always just used a simple saber, the Sith/people using the dark side get creative with their blades.

Man, Luther is such a badass. I hope he made it to see the Death Star destroyed. (Highly doubt it though)
& seeing as he has so much different stuff going on out and about the galaxy, do you think he has any teams / people undercover looking for any order 66 survivors?
There must be a few of them out there apart from ones we know, so surely the rebellion would know what an asset that any of those Jedi survivors would be to the cause?
May be a season 2 thing?
Final question, how long in the timeline is this after obi wan?
Just dunno where the Bail Organa connection is.
There’s so much potential for this area of the timeline going into future season or other spin off around the building of the rebellion into a legit force etc.
So long as the writing quality is like this show and not like my 1st poem or rise of jaywalker level writing.
If they keep this up they’re on the right path.
